Geo et all, one thing we long term PPHM shareholders can agree on is the current management has not operated the company without massive dilution. We can all also agree the BOD and management have not shown confidence in the company by purchasing a significant number of PPHM shares.
Those two reasons alone have made a Ronin move likely to succeed. Like you I hope Ronin can provide a detailed plan to move our share prices steadily higher.
Current management has very little time to convince us they should be allowed to stay. Weeks not months. Major action is required, not major talk.
GLTA, Paul
At first I assumed the revenue miss will cause a big price drop on Monday. Then, it occurred to me that Ronin et all might fire off a PR suggesting the disappointment confirms the need for new more shareholder friendly management and BOD. This might mitigate the damage.
We'll see.
GLTA, Paul
Very compelling letter. I have to wonder if Ronin et all are any more shareholder friendly than the current crew. Have they done this maneuver before? If so, how did it work out for the existing shareholders?
GLTA, Paul
Was yesterday's up move due to buyers who didn't realize Peregrine had just done a RS?
GLTA, Paul
In the days leading to the RS I sold more than half of my shares. Color me surprised at today's upward movement. Hope it accelerates.
GLTA, Paul
So, on Monday we open around $4.20. Will we close below $4? Will we close above $4.20?
Stay tuned.
GLTA, Paul
My question: why didn't the share price drop more? I'm sure the optimists think someone knows big, good news is coming. The pessimist probably think the real price drop will come next week.
I guess we'll soon see which way it plays out.
GLTA, Paul
I suspect our share price will drop to some level and then bounce a few pennies. Small chance we close above .52 in my view.
The 1 for 7 split does not seem very optimistic. On the other hand, why did management request the latest NASDAQ extension if they didn't have something in the works?
GLTA, Paul
As many of us feared, Peregrine was unable to come up with developments preventing the RS.
Now we'll see how the share price responds.
GLTA, Paul
Another no news day. Another selling day.
Odds of a last minute rescue from the RS look pretty slim to me. As said before, I hope the likely RS does not result in a big hit to the revised share price. If it does, I might just restore the 50+% of my shares I recently dumped at a considerable loss.
GLTA, Paul
Settlement of shareholder suit? Does this mean I can expect a check for some piddling amount?
GLTA, Paul
Time to face the music. If Peregrine had something to get the share price back over a dollar without an RS, it would have happened by now. I hope those who think the RS announcement won't hurt the share price are right.
GLTA, Paul
Another no news day. Yet another sell order. Sigh and sigh again. Have to believe the RS in inevitable.
GLTA, Paul
Another no news day. Another selling day. Sigh.
GLTA, Paul
Another no news day. Another day to sell more shares.
GLTA, Paul
Another day without news. Another day I sell. Come on Peregrine. If you've got something to prevent the RS, now is the time. If you don't, I guess I'll keep selling till there ain't no more to sell.
GLTA, Paul
Another no news day. Another sell order for me. I'm not riding another loser off a cliff. Prove me wrong Peregrine while I still own shares.
GLTA, Paul
sulaco, I really hope we have a Peregrine dawn. If we don't, I will feel better if I am not holding so many shares.
GLTA, Paul
Another no news day. Another sell order. I don't like what my crystal ball says if management can't prevent the RS.
GLTA, Paul
Another no news day. Another sell order for me.
I really hope Peregrine management gave NASDAQ a solid reason for the 30 day extension. However, I am not willing to believe they did. Come on, Peregrine. Give us a real deal partnership or other compelling reason to hang onto our shares.
GLTA, Paul
I see it like this BioBS2012, companies undergoing reverse splits look like they are going under, which they often do. Avid growing profitability is something only those who follow the company closely are aware of.
So, the obvious red flag of a RS will catch the eye far more than the results generated by a subsidiary.
GLTA, Paul
geocappy1, if management doesn't prevent another RS, I fear the share price will drop a significant percentage in the next 30 days. Avid's growing profitability can't offset the "optics" of a company teetering on the brink.
If the RS does happen, and the share price drops back to the pre-split .20s, might be reasonable to buy Avid at a 50% discount to the current price. Might not.
GLTA, Paul
I too have been here since before 2000. I would love to see management produce news that would prevent the RS. However, every day we don't get that news is another day I sell shares. I will not ride another loser over a cliff.
Management prove me wrong. Please. Tomorrow would be nice.
GLTA, Paul
Peregrine has about a month before a RS is necessary. During that period can we expect the share price to steadily decline unless management pulls off the unexpected reversal of fortune back over a dollar?
If so, isn't the smart move to sell?
GLTA, rapdily divesting me
If CP is correct maybe Nasdaq will give them more time before forcing a reverse split.
GLTA, Paul
JJ1223, as you can see I have been here a very long time. I was here when Dr. Thorpe gave us so much hope for what became Bavi, only to see it fail as a treatment for viruses and fail so far as a treatment for cancer.
Therefore, I feel entitled to ask those who follow Peregrine more closely than I do now for a little information. I apologize if you found this wrong in some sense.
GLTA, Paul
JJ1223, with a little research I can answer my own question. The predicted profitability date is June 2018. One year to go.
I hope NASDAQ approves one more extension. Avoiding another RS along with a little good news might get us back over a dollar before Christmas. Ho, Ho, Ho.
GLTA, Paul
PPHM profitability? Management predicted this at least a year ago. How far away are they from this significant threshold?
GLTA, Paul
We can't yet know how valuable Bavi may be, but it is increasingly clear that Avid is going to make a lot of money.
GLTA, Paul
Bio, I loved seeing an MSK poster highlighting a Bavi combo "eliminating" advanced melanoma tumors without toxicity.
Big time validation of Bavi in the very hot immunotherapy space. If that doesn't get us a serious partnering look, I don't know what could.
GLTA, Paul
Agreed Biopharm, there is no BP conspiracy to hold Peregrine down. However, we live in a skeptical world. Peregrine will run when/if the likelihood of commercial success is beyond reasonable doubt. Not there yet, but could be in a few months IMO.
One more speculator driven move back above a dollar. Followed a few months later by big Avid contract, super lab/clinic results or a solid partner deal could quickly push the price back above $2. Somewhat improbable, but not impossible.
GLTA, Paul
Corp, let's take a look at a few facts:
Revenues in Avid's market segment are growing rapidly,
Avid's revenues have grown 40% per year for years,
Avid is about to begin commercial production in its second site and actively preparing to get a third site going,
Peregrine revenue predictions for the year, which is almost over, have been increased by roughly $10 million dollars,
Peregrine management re-iterated break even 15 months from year's end.
Oh, and bavi-exosome diagnostics may be worth a parntership, and Memorial Sloan Kettering among others seems to thing Bavi-immunotherapy is worth a trial.
Not bad for a company struggling to maintain NASDAQ listing.
After listening to the CC, I have no concerns regarding Avid's gross profit percentages going forward. My CPA certificate might lend a modicum of credibility to my confidence.
We could have the usual small blip up or down on Monday or Tuesday. Or, we could see Peregrine announce negotiations to partner the bavi-exosome cancer test kit. We are beyond overdue for a break. We'll see.
GLTA, Paul
Hypi, Peregrine management has presided over several disasters not of their own making. The Fargo Fiasco and the Sunrise failure were both terrible shocks, but it is a stretch to blame them for a third party screw up or mother nature's reaction to the docetaxel-bavi approach to NSCLC.
Meanwhile, management has wisely invested heavily in Avid, pushed the bavi exosome diagnostic effort and smartly chosen to try Bavi with the new immunotherapies on a cost efficient basis using highly respected outside researchers.
I don't see Peregrine's future depending on management's trustworthiness at all. They will succeed or fail based on what we see in the labs and clinics IMHO.
GLTA, Paul
Hypi, I disagree that management wanted an RS. I don't see how any management would think it enhances their reputation to preside over an RS. Just don't get it at all.
On the other hand, if they bring the company back from the brink of an RS, many of us will thank them and complain less about their "lavish" compensation packages. LOL
GLTA,Paul
We have been disappointed by Peregrine before. It may happen again. Or, just maybe the triple path of Bavi-immunotherapy, bavi-exosome diagnostic, and Avid growing profits may save the day. I know the hour is very late to prevent the RS, but it is not actually too late.
Wouldn't it be loverly,
Paul
Revenue_monster, clearly Peregrine has been actively trying to monetize this discovery for months. Like you, I hope they can announce a real money partnership in time to avoid the RS.
GLTA, Paul
Would not be surprised by news next week. Why not? Could have news any day.
Last week's little move could have been precipitated by a news leak. Or not.
All news is not created equal. Pre-clinical news is nice, but rarely leads to a sustained share price increase. Meaningful partnership news could be different. Not that we've ever had such news. Sigh.
GLTA, Paul
Hypi, you are a brave soul. I hope you are right this time. By the way I believe the expression is a "death knell".
My hope is we get news next week that is so good we don't have a "sell on the news" dip.
GLTA, Paul
We need some news from Tustin to support this lovely move. If not, I don't think we'll get back to a dollar without a you-know-what.
GLTA, Paul
