You actually did. I mean... I can't even argue about that. It feels weird to think that Jrod was right ... lol.
Tell Sterling (unless you are Sterling) we all say hello. lol. Is he a Walmart greeter now? He’d be good at that.
And yes mismanagement by senior leadership was the problem. Not going to take it out on staffers. I’ll team with them though…
I lost my ass like everyone else. NFTs are completely worthless thanks to GMER.
15,000 worthless NFTs clogging up my wallets as a reminder of their crappy management.
Restart … remint … do over is inevitable. Company completely key the game balance get wrecked.
Also the GOO token needs to be fungible. That whole bury GOO in a Microbuddy basically killed it for crypto.
Lesson learned is … SEC and public traded companies are the absolute worst thing to happen to a crypto project in the US … because of Gensler … and fear of “if we talk we could affect something”. Just the absolute worst.
I personally knew once the restrictions on talking and teaming with the community were put in place the project was going to die a slow death.
Going out separate ways was the only solution…
It’s in the Microbuddies Discord only. He posted it there.
Here is the text …
@everyone
I have two important announcements to make regarding the future of MicroBuddies.
# 1
*Last week was my final week with Good Gaming.*
Yep. I saw a lot of speculation about whether I was staying or going, and it's with a bittersweet heart that I can confirm that I will be leaving GG after 8 years. Virtually my entire professional career has been spent with GG, and leaving behind the stability, support, and colleagues I've spent so long collaborating, learning, and growing with is both terrifying and liberating. Through all the ups and downs, I'm grateful for everything GG has done for me. I think our relationship ended on a pretty good note though, as you'll see as this post continues.
It's time for me to write the next chapter of my career. The vision I developed in late 2020 that led to my design of MicroBuddies as a proof of concept still runs strong within me. I have spent the last few years soaking up knowledge of Web3 and honing my game design, development, and leadership capabilities. There aren't many that share as much technical and cultural knowledge of the Web3 industry as I, and even fewer that ALSO understand the technical and cultural aspects of the gaming industry - which is what will make me and the team I'm building uniquely suited to connect these two behemoth spaces.
All of this leads me to the second big announcement regarding MicroBuddies:
# 2
*I have acquired MicroBuddies from Good Gaming*
That's right, for the first time, yours truly is in full control! Good Gaming is no longer involved with MicroBuddies. Not only that, but my deal with GG also included Minecraft, which has a big community and holds a special place in my heart. They even threw in Roblox. Rest assured, under me we're going to go in a whole new direction - you don't have to worry about us trying any IP crossovers.
The future is bright, the opportunities in front of us are incredible, and I hope everyone in the MicroBuddies community will come along for the ride.
All that said - I want to ask everyone for a little bit more patience. I'm incredibly excited and itching to start building and executing, but I know my limits. Everything that's happened over the last few weeks, and frankly the last few years, has left me at less than 100%. I'm going to take a few weeks to refresh my mental and prepare to lock in on doing everything that needs to be done to make my vision for this world a reality. Vision statement to follow when I'm back.
I'll still be around in the chats, and without the corporate filter now. Thank you everyone.
P.S. As you all know, at acquisition the game was in a dead, broken, and costly state. I've shut off the game while we figure out next steps, and moved everything over to a much more sustainable infrastructure. Third party marketplaces are still running. <https://microbuddies.io/>
Agreed on all points. They need to figure out what “Good Gaming Inc.” is. They definitely abandoned Web 3 and crypto. Seems like they held onto this mobile platform. Not sure there is much money there with just one clicker game relying on ads.
From where I stand … They truly need to find something they want to focus on and stick with it.
The “too expensive” to maintain thing I see earlier is only a tone because of mismanagement. Letting Sterling go to late was their mistake. That’s on them. I thought he should have been kicked to the curb a year ago.
Hopefully they get things figured out but for now … a company with one clicker game is not much of a company. IMO. Needs more meat on the bone.
I honestly think the split is good for GMER. You all can do things that make sense for a public traded company and we can do the risky crypto thing.
I now honestly think the two projects being free from each other can be a good thing for both. I hope GMER kicks ass and does well.
Good luck to all!!
Microbuddies officially sold from GMER.... Done with this stock .... Bye Bye....
Now you all can go do your GMER thing without us Web 3 guys even caring about you. Good luck!
Starting to think they killed the remaining staff and have them in the dumpsters behind the GMER HQ. That is my theory.... could be wrong, but it appears this thing is dead as dead can be at this point.
$800 in revenue… epic.
Where are all the pumpers with their witty responses? Oh wait … the news was they were kicking the Sony guy out the front door … because that was “in the plan of great stuff to come”. Lololol
I still can't believe they thought that putting this on a NASCAR car was going to do anything. Clearly shows management has no clue, which is why they had to cleave off one of their slugs. Should have gotten rid of this guy a year ago like we were all saying.
GMER owes this guy a severance package??? Lololol. What a freaking joke. Guy wrecked the place … and he gets severance. Lololol. You can’t make this up.
Good Gaming, Inc. (the “Company”), effective from July 26, 2024, has elected to eliminate the executive position of Chief Operating Officer, and in connection with the elimination of such position, Mr. David Sterling shall be leaving
I do it because some day I dream of being best friends with you. Besties for life. I’ll never leave GMER just for you.
Funny thing I'm not even scorned. I just come here for the humor. Can't make up how bad this company is managed. It is just fun to watch the disaster at this point.
I'm green across the board on everything ... thanks to NOT GMER... because of GMER my whole team got into real projects. Had they not stiffed us and rugged the Web 3 we wouldn't be in the green. So, for that I think GMER for being as bad at business as they are.
lolololol..... had to come back and get some laughs. That is a good one .. Big things? They only wish they had big things. Try broke as f and no real revenue.
March 20SoonTm… that March.
Or sometime…. SoonTM/Redacted. Same crap different day. Always … soon.
How many are phones they have in the ViaOne closet? lol ... Downloads does not equate to gamers; and sure as $hit does not equate to revenue. The next filing is going to be some funny funny stuff to read.
At this rate they might be able to buy lunch one day for the office (minus soda). Rolling in the fluff and bs … the next filing will be very entertaining to read. lol.
They continue to make broke games with no revenue. Trying to say anything else is a lie … their filings show that.
Also … if you think I’m angry… then you are dead wrong. No one can be angry with GMER because at this point it is so blatant their incompetence of the company management is it’s entertaining to talk about it. IMO.
It’s no longer about the money … deal with it.
May be a high earnings estimate. $0.5-$1 more like.
Honestly, I think they only people that care about what happens is the few holders here. The company doesn't seem to give a f about if their product is successful or not. IMO.
Nope. And even it is … fluffy fluff fluff. Fixed their crap … that would be news.
My gaming team won $10K on a game this week... that is more than the whole company of GMER made in a year. Pathetic.....I don't understand how Sterling even has a job anymore.
Lolololol. Yeah sure.
Totally serious in the fact we have no clue why and what the company pays so much on him (and the other ViaOne “execs”). It’s insane… other than it’s a “good ol’ boy” retirement plan for these guys. To much time pissing away money … and too much time / energy on their shitty race car record.
Sterling “quit” Sony in 2015 … (per his resume) and every project/ company since then has failed he has been in. This is where he went after Sony …
https://www.lootinteractive.com/games/qbert-rebooted/
Known for rebooting QBert …. Nuff said.
Do you even play the games? If you did you’d know …. Broke as f. Posted in Discord …
Fluxty 5/8/2024 … “ Having them do a complete refactoring, plz hold. Anyone enduring this suffering during our game development deserves some freebie drop(s) when everything is cleared up 🥲”
Nothing since that …
After 3 years of development we should expect something… $3M in initial funding should have resulted in a working product.
$183 in revenues with $73k in costs to get the $183 … says it all.
Still there …
Agreed. GMER is frustrating as f.
At this rate they should be able to afford a latte for everyone on the team by the end of the year with all the ad money they are taking in. Next financials should be hilarious.
The quarterback is toast!
Yep. Most are losing their asses on GMER. AGREED.
Technically per the data it already did go subpenny in the last 52-weeks. That’s a fact. So you can’t say never … as it has already happened once.
SoonTM/Redacted ... situation normal... FUBAR is normal for GMER.
No. Facts.
Unless they have a heck of a lot less phones they can force this on than they state.
Dude … I got more followers X and I’m not even marketing myself. 600 is sad for a company … just sad.
This company needs to get a clue; a plan that includes revenue; and stick with it … AND MARKET IT.
GMER....
We are doing Web 3 .... nope... we just will leave that broke as f...
We are doing Minecraft ... again ... nope ... can't find the gamers....
We are doing Roblox.... nope ... can't find our balls...
We are doing a phone app... no really we are ... and we will have it working ... soon/redacted (oh and somewhere along the line it will have Web 3 stuff ... if we can remember what that even is).
Oh, and guys guys ... we have phones we will force this on and people will love to play a game that just shows up on their phone without them asking...
Great planning ... lololol
