I think a PE of 17 is too generous. I think something like 12 is more fair. Earnings growth may be solid, but it isn't breakneck.
It didn't. That's my question: why is there a discord with what Treasury dept. is saying and what Mnuchin is saying. Either there was an internal communication problem, or Mnuchin isn't managing his people well. Don't take me the wrong way, I'm a Fannie Mae bull and own common stock.
The article I posted about that claimed that a Treasury dept. spokesperson said that the NWS will continue
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-05-02/fannie-freddie-profit-payments-should-continue-treasury-says
So, you're saying that this Joe Light is lying?
That doesn't change the fact that the treasury dept. said that.
Another article:
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-05-02/fannie-freddie-profit-payments-should-continue-treasury-says
The real question is: why is Mnuchin saying one thing and the Treasury department another?

Any thoughts, then, about why price dropped off after a strong open?
Did trump say anything relevant when talking to the bankers today?
Another huge story. Thanks for this one
Not sure. Tweet photo: appears she is discussing script with Mnuchin
See tweet. 6-9
Maria interviewing Mnuchin tomorrow and puts #fanniegate in the same tweet. Big news!!!

Which ones? The ones I monitor are all down today.
Very strange that the market doesn't seem to be responding well to the vote.
Tell me about it. What happened between 2:00 and 2:30 pm?
What pushed up the price today? The ICBA plan?
Any thoughts on the below article/why Dick Bove is no longer recommending?

Is this price action because of the MBA proposal?
It's my understanding that the director will be replaced with a board. Please correct if I am misunderstanding.
It's my understanding that DeMarco is bad news. Is the market's enthusiasm for the Hensarling story outweighing concerns about DeMarco?
I apologize for being out of the loop, but what happened this afternoon to drive the price up 10%?
I'm actually quite surprised that the market didn't respond to Donald Trump Jr.'s retweet of the Carlson story.
Though, granted, I wish I had gotten in after that earnings report (q3 I think) sent the stock above $70
Key to remember that Nvidia will face competition from AMD in the near future in the GPU space, which currently drives revenue. Eventually, the deep learning/cloud computing/self driving car businesses will grow but not for a few years. That's the long term investment thesis. However, looking for an entrance around $90 is reasonable to me.
Most estimates have oil stabilizing around $55-60/barrel. CHK looks like a great opportunity. Company is clearly more efficient/well run than in the past.
I still want to get in this at 90...we shall see
The Tucker Carlson segment is yet another domino to fall. It's only a matter of time before the GSEs are addressed. Regardless, something will have to be done before Trump's tax plan is implemented. Value of tax deferred assets will decrease, decreasing assets side of balance sheet and forcing draws from treasury, which is undesirable for a number of reasons. Trump has stated that he is moving on to tax policy, so we should see material changes with the GSEs very soon.
Continuation of sweep is already priced in. I'm not concerned
Is a meeting with Mnuchin on Trump's schedule today? Saw this on the Trump reddit page....
Believe me, I'm not betting the farm here. But I will say that I think that odds for fannie and Freddie reform remain high regardless of outcome on the 31st
Okay but the demise of fannie and Freddie would deal and even bigger blow to low income
This might be a trading stock but short of a company revolution, this thing is slowly going to die
Or ending the net worth sweep is a convenient way to starve Obamacare and force congress to implement the Republicans' plan
It's hard to tell. But it's encouraging that he doesn't specifically implicate the institutions themselves.
Looks like everyone's waiting to see what happens at the end of this month...
Google "live news on"
I agree. People are selling NVDA solely due to "analyst" comments. Q4 was good and they haven't even really developed the deep learning part of their business yet. That's where the growth is.
We expect to make our next dividend payment to @USTreasury in Dec. 2016. https://t.co/tBxipIn8YR pic.twitter.com/QRKuYUWFZc

They used the word "expect" in reference to their last dividend payment as well. Nothing new here. Still positive about prospects for GSE reform regardless. This is the official Twitter; no way they're dropping hints here.
He'll probably wait until Fannie and Freddie are relisted :)
