changes their views and opinions based on their investment
Here's a hint: It works the other way around. I mean, DUH.
now abuse and harass
You mean like all of your posts on this board?
Get help. Really.
I see... so someone who changes their investment based on new data is a "turncoat". Interesting. You sure you don't have an AMD position, either shares or a job? Sounds like you might be an employee...
Have you noticed how many people you're calling "trolls" on various boards all over the web? And that you're being given time-outs on some of them for your bad behavior?
At times, you seem on the edge of a nervous breakdown.
You've really become erratic and angry over the last year or two... maybe a psychological work-up, or a brain-scan for a tumor might be in order? Seriously.
Considering that a 4-day "delay" would be nonsensical, it seems that DailyTech's explanation is probably correct.
Have you always been this angry?
Gee, you're finally figuring things out. Did you sell your AMD position today?
See my last post-- 23rd was never the launch date, apparently.
July 23 was (and is) the *ship* date, and July 27 is the launch date, according to one of the folks running Daily Tech.
Yeah, you troll over there, too.
I did give you all advice before that it would blind you to the true messages of my posts
Now you're a 'Massiah'? This is too rich.
Maybe those CTOs should talk to someone in sales or marketing, and get a clue?
You're spending all your time posting on CPU *investment* boards, Tri-Core.
Such language. Got you a little vacation from SI.
Tri-Cores will STILL happen and I told you when too, as defective quad dies.
In the real world, defective QC parts will be sold as DC parts.
Didn't mean to touch a nerve, Tri-Core. :) I think I timed the AMD/INTC investment switch pretty well. Not the perfect top for AMD, nor bottom for Intel, but close. AMD is down $10/sh since I sold, and INTC is flat to down a few bucks over the various purchase times for my 2008 leap calls.
Why don't you admit your investment position?
The alternative (if you really spend this much time without a position) looks like a form of derangement. So go on, fess up. :)
Considering my track record of predictions is much better than yours
Yeah, sure it is, Tri-core.
You must be getting close to a margin call with AMD at $23.xx.
Too bad you may have confused others into holding their AMD from the mid-30's down to the mid-20's. You're sorta like niceguy that way.
Don't forget that he also claims to have no investment in Intel or AMD. He just does this as a public nuisance--err, service. Strangely, though, the more AMD stock declines, the more shrill he becomes.
Theo read the same Russian rumor that was posted several days back. Probably somewhere between "false" and "a couple years from now"
In fact it's what you would expect a seasonally down 2nd quarter
Bzzzt.
1. They guided flat to slightly down.
2. This Q2 has an extra week, so where's the 7.8% bump in revenues from that?
You'd better wait and see just what the profit/loss turns out to be.
What else would it be?

Xbit (and AMDZone) are using a bogus headline, I think.
Hector appears to have said "architecture", not "micro-architecture", and indeed, Direct Connect Architecture 2.0 is on their Tech Day roadmaps for 2008. The bit about "work well with our partners for the best performance" also strongly suggests he is not talking about the micro-architecture, but rather the new interconnect.

just about what you would expect from 2x E6600 Conroe
But that's very good news, considering they are sharing the FSB.
Kentsfield sample at 2.4GHz benched. OC's to 3.2GHz at stock voltage.

Zero chance? Wow, that's quite a crystal ball you have there.
The Inq isn't rendering very nicely for me right now... anyone else seeing a messed-up page?
Woodcrest launch is supposed to be next Monday, Conroe on July 23, Merom in Aug.
Someone else already pointed out the motherboard issue.
With the exception of 104W, those were all tied to major changes: platform (939 --> AM2), cores (single --> double)
The TDP for AM2 FX is 125W.
All of iHub has rules, and you are in repeated violation.
Maybe so, but that's the best roadmap info we have at this time, from both companies.
No, that isn't likely until the X6900, and possibly the E8000, Intel parts are here, as the FX64 is not due until Q107.
X6900 = 3.2 / 1066 FSB
E8000 = 3.33 / 1333 FSB
Please obey the iHub rules, and remain civil.
It actually crushes the FX in the newer Sciencemark, too.
mas, you're losing it. take a break.
AMD and IBM have stated publicly that this technology allows for a 40% faster switching transistor than from a standard 65 nm design without all the three letter acronyms (TLA’s). In a complex design like a CPU this could mean a theoretical 50% overall clockspeed increase going from AMD’s 90 nm process to AMD/IBM’s 65 nm process all the while staying within the same power envelope.
The author doesn't know what he's talking about.
DSL was a 24% boost over nothing. 1.4 / 1.24 = 12.9% faster 90nm SiGe transistor switching speed than the current non-SiGe transistor. That will likely provide a product speed boost of a somwhat smaller amount.
AMD will include an extra complex decoder as well as an out of order load/store buffer and out of order read/write buffer.
That was a laughable assertion, already debunked.
It will feature a higher IPC and be able to clock higher than the current Rev. F’s
No, it is a dumb shrink (same IPC), and the initial parts will clock slower than the 90nm parts.
More potty mouth? You're going to get a 'time out' here, too.
so only power is the issue
Oh, is that all? You mean, they don't want to release a 175W 3GHz DC part? Really? Just the small issue of dropping that down 50W or so is all?
Do let us all know when the AMD Tri-cores start shipping, mas.
BTW, with the Fishkill SOI process badly broken from the looks of Cell, what do you think this implies for AMD's 65nm performance, timing, and ramp?
Chartered isn't even starting 65nm production until mid-2007.
interested Interested? You mean "obsessed"? Sorry, doesn't add up. :)
