I predict burnstone will sell for just enough to cover debt UNLESS a Russian or Chinese buyer emerges which I doubt will happen now. the word would have gotten out. a silent auction between relatives with no outsiders allowed. a bump, bump, bump another one bites the dust. my beloved miners i'm referring to, of course.
when finbar recons the Vancouver office next week i hope he goes back an hour later. the movie the sting entered my mind when he mentioned the visit.
Van Eck's Foster interview
HAI: Let’s shift to South Africa. There’s talk of platinum mines closing. It seems sort of contrarian to the demand situation. Is South Africa becoming more and more of a question mark regarding figuring out what’s going on, not just with platinum, but precious metals in general?
Foster: No, I don’t think it’s too much of a question mark. The situation for the mining business in South Africa is definitely deteriorating. You have various unions that are causing wages to rise. It’s very, very labor-intensive mining that goes on in South Africa. So these companies are really affected negatively by large wage increases.
We have competing unions that are starting to drive up wages fairly dramatically. You’ve got difficult mining conditions with the narrow, deep underground mining that you find in South Africa. It’s just become a very difficult place to run a mining business. That’s the trend we see in South Africa, and we don’t see an end to it in the foreseeable future
well looks like our advisor did their job. the boyz will get a billion dollar property for 15 million. btw, I do expect a remarkable turnaround at Hollister. surprise, surprise. coho, don't expect any help from the Justus system on this one at all. its just that.
I disagree with finbar999 on how much burnstone is going to be sold for. there could be some Russian and Chinese interest in this mine. they are not happy with the boyz and know the power of gold so it won't be a stay away it's ours type of deal ie Hollister.
I am starting to get my hopes up. not adding, not selling either.
finbar, how about throwing us a bone. anything looking good here in the PM's besides physical?
the luck of the irish throughout history has not fared well against the competition involved in this saga. the cast of characters alone should be enough info to see how we shareholders will fare. I still think this was planned long ago and is just now coming to fruition. someone mentioned .40 cents. do you really think anyone in the know wouldn't be buying here if that was even remotely possible. the volume at this juncture would have spiked a few times to shake out the weak. no volume, no interest. sure a few doubles from .006 to .012 but nothing really worth betting the farm on. gpb just said he had 40,000 worth so if he can get it to .018 I bet he will double his nut. so maybe Bellagio is in his cards but long term holders imo will be sorely mistaken.
someone said a blackrock type company would be "winning" the bids. so far so good. are you guys going to keep buying gpb's shares?
little things like that make me think we have a chance here. still looking for a jv just not hoping for barrick anymore.
mffais.com -type in gbglf- page 5 for van eck
I think your definition of the word "our" isn't shared with our bidders. word would of gotten out by now and we would of seen more than 8000 dollars of equity traded today. just saying, but still holding 16,000 shares. looking to add to my Swedish jr if this proves up. I wish I could share your optimistictism but with banksters being banksters...
here is a pretty good read.

notice hdi's pebble is the largest non-producing mine yet to be built with 100 million in permitting costs yet to be approved. I've been in nak since 2006. deep storage gold and after hd and co bellies up on us here I bet the permits will be approved quickly so they can get retail investment to pay the 2 bil or so to build the mine maybe then get another fergie to wash, rinse and repeat.
just think after comex, cme etc can't meet demand and gld and slv is shown for what they are and there is no street supply the good low cost producers in a safe jurisdiction will be the only game in town.
big bux, mathematically some gold had to be sold. they also used other processes. i'll get them to you shortly.
I wouldn't be too worried about the price of gold going into these auctions. everyone knows where gold will end up especially our advisor if for no other reason than physical supply to sell until they wind up their short positions.
here it is

the hedging is talked about about 5 paragraphs from the bottom. since then I think they wrote off the burnstone hedge and added it to the loan. i'm looking for that reference. going from memory.
man polarbear you are all over the place.
what we have to keep in mind is WHY we resumed trading.
a little bird told me our advisor is looking to pick up a south african gold producer. a deep storage type of thing. now it makes more sense to me the actions of gbg these last few years. it seemed it was set to fail after the mine was built using other peoples money to be bought up cheap, cheap and cheap. i suspect the grades are much richer than what is being told but thats for later use. deep storage. no media mention of course.
now take a look at hollister. what 5% drilled. good ore grades. 75 million of the latest financing went to it. too much % wise imo if it was worthy of the latest media downgrades. i suspect many upgrades in the years ahead.
so where i am at now is probably barrick jv. the shares have value since we are trading and the funds arent selling. i don't know if the shares will run up here since imo they all ready would have due to insider knowledge. so hollister will go cheap too. but we will get barrick shares. of course jmho.
i see no other reason for us to be trading and for the funds not to be dumping.
which investments ya talkin bout. the one's on your bio? fox ews? fraid knot. come on give me your best pick short term. please don't say gbg cause we both know down deep how this is going to play out. know it all.
chartists are backwards thinkers usually. looking forward to act three in the gbg saga. be sure to use your mod status to delete this post. i feel for ya, dude btw, have you looked at fed'ex projections for the next qtr?
i said review their rec's. cramer isn't sinclair. sure there are things that sinclair is privy to he can't discuss but for the most part he understands the end game.
on real estate i can understand buying some get away ag land but i read somewhere the non-elite properties were being bought up then sliced and diced to set up the next real estate bubble.
look at metrics like ups, fed-ex for how the economy is really going.
who's buying the cars? i think you are seeing what unlimited QE does. when it stops? anyway, good luck.
if you don't mind who do you review for their rec's. i'm down to about three jim sinclair, jim willie and one other. the rest are too fond of their lives and their book.
RB, what happened in cyprus is very important. of course they are down-playing it. they are jabbing a sleeping bear. see what jim sinclair has to say about it.
i still think we will be toast here but i did like the tape paint before the open. gives me some hope. if the bear wants some retaliation they just might steal this mine or mines just cause they can. i hear the russians are pretty good at chess.
on a side note- did anybody catch NCAA wrestling this past weekend?
damnsammit did you do any dd on my small producer? thoughts?
wall st 61 sorry i caused the confusion on tonnes. i should of gone back and re-read the post before i posted.
no not stalking. just checking up- a little DD if you will. as a piece of goodwill how about looking into a small gold producer with a mine in sweden producing around 50,000 ounces a year. they just merged with another company and took their name. the new company is getting ready to re-open a mine in northern canada and has a few other properties to boot all in the first stages. no debt, 20 mil in bank. the conference call is soon, the price is down. the company should be producing close to 150,000 ozs. a year by 2015. be sure to get certificates if you decide to buy some. since i didn't mention the stock i hope this isn't interpreted as a pump more of a offering of a flowertop. cheers
drumroll- is that your first D in DD? the question was per ton if memory serves. and don't start on your DD. i will point people to your first post on i-hub then reference your comment to me about i-hub and investment decisions. i don't know where to begin with build the mine the ounces will come someone else posted.
wallst61 thanks for saving me a few bucks. i had hope here till the morgue showed up. todays investing is all about the cast. please stay around for the next act. titled WTF just happened. and to think i was all set to give it all back to em in vegas, baby.
yeah, that was good. gl
well its official. polish up those pom-poms only positive post will be allowed here. mods decide what is and what isn't. i posted where it might be wise to sell half on a double gets erased? as we speak our advisor is in talks with congress about unethical behavior. check out who got the mfglobal loot? good luck fellas you are on your own.
didn't 75 mil go towards hollister lately. that's why i get the feeling the prize is hollister.
thanks, yeah this is def a crap shoot but i've thrown 7-11's before.
your avatar i finally figured out where i had seen it. lol pretty good flick
what did i miss on the deleted posts?
i'm just saying the time to rescue this company was early last year. i don't buy the can't finance angle. could of jv'd with someone but were probably persuaded not to. as to conspiracy theory the whole market at this point is fixed. fundi's don't matter. legality is whatever they say it is. believe what you want. i'm still holding but i fear if the value in shares was there they would have run it up and down a few times to shake the shares loose. no sense selling down here. better to take the tax loss for me anyway.
sounds like we want the same outcome.
one other thing. since hdi was so "insider" how come they didn't get a few friends together to protect their investment and pay off the debt back around june or so. or is that some kind of sick bird?
gpb, could you explain how hdi is playing hardball with the creditors. so far all my hdi associated investments are averaging down at least %50 these last 2 years. not exactly awe inspiring shareholder protection imo. could be they made a backroom deal with the boys to fold GBG(but make it look good)in order to get help with pebble "problems". cause in the end they all(west) answer to the same wizard. imo if this thing was be run and the shares worth something it would have already happened. but soon we'll see if the fix is in or my faith in humanity will be restored. i wonder what the oddsmakers at intrade have to say about the shareholders chances.?
off topic but interesting.
http://www.nanex.net/aqck2/3519.html
hoping you had some specifics on how they might do it if you're so inclined. as far as he goes he was brought in for a reason like all of the players imo.
now that makes sense. barrick and the morgue working in concert. wall st 61, how are they going to get rid of the shareholders? something tells me the auction for burnstone will include value of all shares and a bid high enough to pay off debts. is that possible? am i close?
i think you are right nag. rules of law and fundamentals no longer apply. i think there is alot more value than they will show. i'm also hoping for shares(or will be buying)in the aquiring company when this 2nd act is finished. no other reason to start trading the shares again imo. except to condense it into a few hands. think about all the shares being dumped by the funds if a few posters here are right.the final act will be greater than expected resources along with alot higher gold prices. OR i lose it all lol
actually i owe wall street61 an apology. i had him confused with another guy on here. he was just looking out for us. sorry wall street 61
i don't trust him either. have you guys seen his wages. that is quite a burn-rate in itself. BUT, the value is here and i'm hoping there is some honesty left in the market for us shareholders. they can't do a mf'n global everytime or no one would play. so i put my bet down at what i felt was pretty close to a bottom after watching mis-management for years wondering who is appropriating the company from the shareholders and pretty soon we will be finding that out, won't we.
BUT, why are you here? you are giving me a fuzzy feeling knowing someone wants my shares. now if only a few more of your stripe would show up i would feel even better. maybe you want to unload some cmet also?
i like your chinese angle. i just don't think it is in the cards. imo the devaluation of hollister was done too fast. this mine is the wildcard. whomever wins the bid will slough off burnstone and retain hollister.
what there is no newsletter writer out there willing to speculate on GBG going forward?
has anybody wondered about the lack of media attention to gbg's plight? almost a total blackout by gold writers and blogs.
chinese company buying hollister (nevada)? anybody know of any other major mine owned by chinese in nevada? no, i think it will be a blackrock type of company who will be the winning "bidder"
i think the bidding will go the same way as my last cattle sale. all the buyers got together at breakfast (hosted by the auctioneer) and decided the prices each was willing to pay in each weight class before the auction started. since there weren't any local butchers or small buyers there to compete against them the auctioneer just started the bids low to make everyone think it wasn't fixed.
I found out about the fix when one of my steers weighed 200 lbs. less than i figured and complained. the owners wife told me x was the buyer between 555-600lbs. and would be re-weighed. my number must have fallen off or switched and weighed within the range but i couldn't prove anything and someone made a quick 350 off of me. wonder how often that happens.
so as you have probably figured out my thinking is somewhat jaded concerning market action and certain participants. remember a pessimist is usually a well informed optimist. so why am i here? big buyers buying or adding to positions before the halt. simply that. .10-20 at best imo. .50-1.00 before the morgue de-cloaked.
on what the buyer was feeding him. someone needs gold if they are having buyers call with scare-mongering tactics imo.
