“Stick glue-like”
They still can’t produce a typo-free PR.
Hopefully, they can produce metric tons of silk in 2022.
Why doesn’t great news ever provide a big pop? Lots of skepticism from past events and non-events would be my guess.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Thompson’s loan forgiveness contingent on uplisting to Nasdaq? I’ve noticed a post pinned to the top for quite a while regarding loan forgiveness, but don’t think that has happened. In addition, the PR in my opinion is very misleading. To the casual observer, it would indicate a EU patent has been issued and that’s clearly not the case.
Don’t believe it’s a con by any stretch. It’s a lot of incompetence compounded by Covid and logistics in a foreign country on the other side of the world. Thompson is an inventor, lawyer, idealist, dreamer and totally inept at running an international business.
Some pictures of huge bundles of cocoons would probably add a penny or two to share price. They can’t even provide any photo evidence of anything, it seems.
Yeah, they usually do! Thing is it was a pretty good PR, but they don’t do much these days. People are expecting news of large scale production and distribution, nothing less will do.
Surely somebody somewhere in a position of authority either here or in Vietnam will not really appreciate those derogatory comments from Kim. They weren’t necessary to advance his case and probably did the exact opposite. Anything quasi in relations to Vietnam could easily be construed as referring to a little extra compensation to keep things moving along. Maybe not, but it was a poor choice of words.
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure (at least until it becomes his trash!)
I’m guessing he ruffled some feathers over there importing such high tech machinery from China. Prodigy may receive a visit by the local union officials inquiring into the future livelihood of displaced workers.
Was it really a $400 machine that Kim bought? Did he really buy the little green branch chopper that someone had a video of a while back? Quite honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me, but only because his PR’s are so lacking in detail and specificity that they appear to be written by a lawyer. Oh wait, they are written by a lawyer!
The technology is only worth that if it can be shown to work and so far that hasn’t happened.
I think most were interested in short term action and not trust in long term viability.
Dewey, Cheatem & Howe is a reputable law firm. Failing to recognize the legal prowess of Mr Howard, Mr Fine and Mr Howard is like failing to realize what a genius Kim Thompson is.
No, nobody’s spanked him to my knowledge, although there’s probably a line of those that would want to.
I was referring to the PR. On the surface, they always looks promising and then the stock spikes and then crashes back to earth. Fairly quickly. Rarely fails with KBLB.
With Kblb, no good deed ever goes unpunished.
Not really...if you know the historic patterns of this stock a lot of money can be made trading it. Supposed good news never really seems to be trusted for long. Many cash out and buy back much lower in the same day. Like today.
In exchange for a million shares, valued probably around .12-.13, that were probably cashed out yesterday for a hefty gain.
Gotta hope it’s a huge baby when it decides to birth itself. Don’t need anymore preemies or stillborns.
I sure hope you’re right! Hopefully it’s not the Bridge to Nowhere or the Bridge of Sighs. Think we’ve been on those too many times already.
Not sure how it benefits him if it fails. Maybe you can enlighten us.
Make millions? Doing what?
Well stated GTman1!
Ok Banana, you’ve called the OTC both a urinary trough and a shithole, so which is it?
Their PR was well written with no typos too. Good news rarely rewards us here. Everybody’s waiting for the grand slam. It will come soon imho.
Totally disagree. Unnecessary and easy to fix mistakes that are broadcast for the world to see. Use a spell checker at the very least. Better yet, get a second opinion before releasing it. No brainer!
But these amateur mistakes don’t have to be made. That’s the point. A PR is the face of the company. Just pass your pr around the office and ask someone else to look it over. Not rocket science.
It’s a good thing their inability to proofread a PR doesn’t effect their ability to succeed in transgenic silk. The PR’s are consistently full of typos. The last two even showed up with two different typefaces in the body of the release (at least on my end.) Competitors must laugh when they read those things.
How so?
Juicy PR? You have the inside scoop all the time for things that never happen.
You said that yesterday. Where does it ever say the ads would start on a certain day?
I think Kim is also expecting great things from the airing of the French documentary on KBLB. Perhaps he's timing things to coincide with the airing in the fall and all the interest from overseas that will potentially come.
Also, reading the bottom of his letter today several times his battering ram appears aimed at the investment bank's doors. One could easily gloss over that paragraph and assume he's talking about just dominating the silk industry, but clearly, he wants and needs favorable financing.
I don't know if the huge amount of verbiage on the 8K regarding a reverse split is standard boilerplate legalese, but it's very apparent they are planning to proceed with the R/S. Kim has the votes to do it. While I didn't see it coming and am fairly surprised, it's obvious Kim thinks it's the route to get on a major exchange asap. He wants to escape OTC hell and quickly. I'm in agreement with CluckKent that this is a grand strategy of Kim's. He must be extremely confident of major production out of Vietnam and quickly in order to make his vision a reality. Some stockholders will get burned as they won't know what to do and may not trust the vision. Long terms holders will probably be rewarded well if they can handle a couple of ulcers along the way. Day traders in the meantime will do quite well with all the volatility if they can handle the whiplash. Hoping Kim is indeed the visionary/marketing/production/sales genius in addition to the standard genius that he claims to be in order to make all this happen.
I know he’s the investor relations guy but can’t seem to find much info in him. What has he done previously that this board should be aware of? Any specifics?
E*TRADE shows a closing at .4899. Don’t recall seeing that Wed! But it’s all irrelevant. Waiting for folding money! Happy 4th everyone!
Let the good times roll and the fireworks begin!
Seems to me that Vietinbank wouldn’t proceed with financing unless the biosafety certificate was already issued. Just an observation backed up with no hard facts.
I’m sure there are some very valid reasons we’re kept largely in the dark. I’m choosing to just trust their judgement as to the reasons why. I think once this thing, whatever it is, hits—it will be explosive. The only thing I don’t trust them on is their ability to operate a large manufacturing operation. Once they’ve been able to reach their target by the end of the year (if they’re true to their word) this will be a proven scaleable operation that should be run by a large multinational corporation with international textile industry experience. We’re here for one crazy ride until that point. A lot of people have waited years for this time! Their patience, I’m confident, will be rewarded beyond measure.
Yeah, I guess mentioning Kim's name was an open invitation, not that you needed one!
Now that the can of worms has been opened, who else has a real gem?
Totally unrelated to the stock performance or direction of the company, but the slogan KBL uses on the homepage is in dire need of a makeover. The future is made in the laboratory. That's so generic and could be used by nearly any company involved in science. It's the first thing potential clients, investors and the public see on the homepage. How about highlighting a benefit or fulfilling a need?
If you were responsible for changing that slogan, what would you make it?
Here's my slogan:
FLEXIBLE AND STRONG - NATURALLY MADE TEXTILES FOR A CHANGING WORLD
I can't wait to hear some responses--hopefully, most will keep Kim's name out of the slogan!
Actually a buyout sooner rather than later will probably net shareholders a much greater return. It would take a huge team of scientists, Vietnamese manufacturing and logistics specialists and others to make this a huge long-term success. Nobody’s demonstrated that Kim’s and Jon’s expertise is in offshore manufacturing. Just keeping all those silkworms under the watchful eye of Prodigy/Kraig rather than slipping into the countryside will be a huge undertaking.
