It has been crazy lately with the wide pps swings. I'm in deep now, so I have my order in for $2 tomorrow to help bring down my average pps. Though the news from Rob has been good, I think we'll take more of a beating for a while, or until Los Azules has a confirmed buyer. I don't think I'll ever reqret buying McEwen for $2. A major world event(which seems to happen every six months now)would also play a part in our triumphant return!
Nice article JD. Though I have been aware of Argentina's negitive policies for mining, to see the long string of stalled or stopped mining projects is shocking to say the least! It has to be devistating to Argentina too. I don't know why policy makers can't see this horror story and the impact of continuing it will have for all their people. I am fearful that they may go "postal" and nationalize all mining operations and be the next Venesuala. I hope something breaks soon because Rob can use some San Juan cash to help move things up in Mexico. I do hope I can spend a little cash soon to buy some more cheapies and I do believe McEwen will come out of this just fine. Thanks again for the post.
Gold and silver prices has been fairly stable lately. It is comical how McEwen can report new discoveries and greatly increased mine and resource live (multiple times), yet their stock gets the stick. I agree too that when the winds of change come, McEwen will be a prize.
Awesome! Their emphasis on exploration has consistantly paid off. I hope Rob drops a couple drills in Grass Valley for another high grade discovery!
Argentina never misses an opportunity to screw up. I'm sure our MUX would be a dollar or two higher if they weren't so radical around every corner. They've held McEwen's money hostage already. Thats why I hope they sell Los Azules soon so they can buy another Mexican or US mine operation and get the heck out of Dodge. Thanks for the good information you guys.
Nice chart explanation Hurricane. With the waves of positive PRs lately, MUX seems to be emerging as one of the leaders of the forward moving Jr companies. Pre market number looks promising this morning also.
You where pretty close on your prediction JD. A little Cyprus scare has the world thinking second thoughts about how safe their deposits are.
McEwen has been doing a good job lately also with a weekly PR that is very positive and profitable. As you stated, they will be well positioned when things start poping. GLTA
The Rights Offering doesn't look so special at this point:) I think Rob foreseen the market direction and got the money while he could. Though discouraged for the time being, I wait for him to show his industry leading mentality by getting MUX in the spotlight soon as the leader of the junior sector. I still hope for the sale of Los Azules myself.
I wonder if McEwen's Los Azules "information war room" is up and running? With all the volitility in the jr mining sector, we could use a good war chest in waiting to be able to scoop up on opportunities. Rob is like Chuck Norris, he doesn't sleep.....he waits
Hope we here something positive on Los Azules soon containing solid new estimates and outside bids on buying it!
Thanks JD for the reasuring post. The last few days has been nothing but depressing. I do hope they sell Los Azules soon. I believe this will springboard this stock. We need some really good news about now. Good luck to everyone.
That's for sure. It is discouraging that MUX is being used as an income source for institutions bottom line, buying and selling so often. I wish this stock would just rise slightly and steady instead of the 25 cent swings when the wind blows. Not sure if there is anything Rob could do to prevent this. Gold and silver swings the same way unfortunately. I sure hope he sells Los Azules soon and buys another sold producer.
Happy New Year Everyone!
Nice bump the last couple days. Hopefully we get other good news soon to keep the ball rolling for a great 2013. I felt complelled to post something in the new year?!
Nice find JD, it's nice to see Rob singled out as a "subject matter expert for the industry. The more I hear him and see his management style in action, the more excited I get about the future of the company. I think this exposure will attract interest in MUX from potential investors and even governments. If they sell Los Azules, I bet it will be closer to a billion when the fat lady sings. Can you immagine the balance sheet, growth and acquisition power of such a sale. I think many eyes are on MUX now. I hold thousands of shares and hope I can hang on to them as I just got home from six years in Iraq as a contractor to the reality of wages back in Michigan(ouch). Thank you for your posts; they are very informative and exciting. Happy holidays to all!!
ps-I'm predicting(more like fantasizing)that Rob drops a couple drills this spring at the new exploration property that Nevada Exploration showed promise(forgot the name, something Grass) and pulls a rabbit out of the hat with legendary high-grade results. I may buy some NGE as they seem to have potential for good growth, and they're cheap right now.
Has anyone heard anything further on the special rights options that are in the hopper? I hope it gets set in stone soon, as I feel this stock is going to start moving upwards quickly and consistantly soon. I would like to get a good discount on them using today's price instead of a couple months from now (I'm sure Rob would some more cheapies himself). Best wishes to all as we cross our finger and wait for the first pour at El Gallo.
I had heard on Bloomberg that gold historically does well after election years because incumbants utilize whatever they can to keep the economy positive running up to elections, then whoever wins has to deal with the reality of our current situation.
That was funny! When Rob brings in El Gallo on time and on budget soon, even those clowns can't keep this stock down. I see increased news daily on big players getting back into the gold sector, so I think soon all hecks going to break. I hope we get news on how much our "Right" shares will be be. I hope it comes out soon before this stock goes up a couple bucks. Rob will probably acquire another gem, and after the election I think this baby will go crazy. Good luck to all...........
Nice day on the books so far. If we get good sold news on funds from Argentina, QE3, and the El Gallo production announcement, this stock has potential to go way up in the near future. I bet Rob also pulls some unexpected news in the not to distant future about an acquisition or something.
JD,
I have enjoyed reading your posts as they are both insightful and well researched. My question is why is gold taking such a beating these days? I know it is based in the US dollar, but it seems the world's economies are going in the drink and quite rapidly. It would seem that gold would be very popular. I don't claim to understand all the issues, but McEwen Mining has resently doubled the known resources at both of the El Gallo and Los Azules projects, and increased deposits significantly at the producing Midera mine. These events coupled with production on the fringe of beginning and Argentina backing off of it's repatriation position, I would think this stock would be on fire. Do you have any insight or future predictions?
That is great news on the expansion of funds timelines to be repatriated to Argentina. I'm surprised that didn't give a push to the stock price, as it is a major development that would position McEwen to expand El Gallo's phase two.
I understand the shell corporation thing, but I wonder if MXGD ever met their exploration commitments on both of their properties that actually gave them the rights to them. It was two million on each over a two year period. Are we holding stock in a company with nothing but 30b outstanding shares? If they did meet these requirements, then I'd say this is a good gamble hold, otherwise we are all left in the dark holding the bag.
I heard they found a vein of gold as round as your arm, stretching the whole 12km length of the Golden Hills property!! Not really, I'm just bored and dreaming a little :) What a difference a day could make with news like that...........
Gold just hit $1600 an ounce!! The past Golden Hills news release stated they found gold in EVERY sample. Trace amounts is all though. It makes me think they're just not digging in the right spot yet. If they find anything in the near future, this stock will be what dreams are made of! What a difference a day makes sometimes. Good luck everyone...and here's to dreamin.
Very interesting indeed. Looks like Talison was/is buying interest in numerous small mineral exploration companies. I just hope something gives soon. Good Luck.....
More emotional buying and selling. People get sick of a stock or need money. There will always be someone willing to buy at a good price. Only NEWS will set us free!!
From my understanding, MXGD had to spend 2m in exploration costs on each property at the two year mark to attain 100% interest in them. Yes, it would greatly effect this stock one way or another. This is a Chineese based company; they may have cards up their sleeves they aren't playing until past the dates of no return, or we'll just wake up and the company will be gone. To me, it's a crap shoot at best. As far as the stock price goes, it's just wishful back and forth playing, because there is no serious volume. I hope the best for us all, that's for sure.
I see the battle of the bid/ask going on; pretty interesting. I don't think anymore .0003 will be sold, but the .0008 ask may be a bit much. It seems like most are sold now at .0005. That's pretty good. Hopefully the .0004 sales are a thing of the past. If you look at when MXGD signed for the Magambe property, the two year exploration period is fast approaching with the Golden Hills shortly behind. Something has to give one way or another soon. Good luck to all. They have found both gold and diamonds on these properties, so I'll keep my fingers crossed !!!
I don't think anything is going to move this until there is at least some news. Unfortunately, the market price is probably even generous at this point. But, if they come out with any news, I think this will rise quickly! Worries over the economic condition of the world will continue to make gold and diamonds a worth while venture. I still can't see any advantage with such a long period of no communications. Maybe someone smarter than me in these affairs can shed some light?
Here's an interesting article I found about Petra, who now owns the Williamson mine. Maybe they'll expand and buy them out?
Washington, D.C. / Johannesburg, South Africa September 28, 2010—IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, today signed a $40 million loan agreement with Petra Diamonds Limited to support the expansion of the Williamson diamond mine in Tanzania. IFC’s financing will help return the mine to profitability, extend its life, and maintain employment for about 1,000 people.
IFC’s investment will be used by Petra, a producer of rough diamonds focused on Africa, to finance a three-year expansion of the 70-year-old Williamson mine that will greatly improve its financial performance. IFC will also work with Petra to ensure that the Williamson expansion is carried out in an environmentally and socially sustainable manner.
John Dippenaar, Petra’s CEO, said, “With IFC’s support, we aim to ensure that the progress at Williamson follows globally recognized best practices for the mining industry relating to the environment and working with local communities.”
William Bulmer, IFC Global Head for mining, said, “Petra shares IFC’s commitment to responsible mining. This project will support the continued operations of the Williamson mine, providing important employment opportunities and other development benefits in the project area."
During the past 10 years, Tanzania’s mining industry has experienced a boom in mineral exploration and mining activities, making the mining industry the second fastest-growing sector in the country after tourism. The investment continues IFC’s strategy to enhance the development of Tanzania’s mining industry.
IFC and Petra will evaluate the mining company’s potential participation in an IFC program in Tanzania that seeks to create more opportunities for local businesses to gain contracts with mining companies operating in northern Tanzania.

Petra conducts all its operations according to the highest ethical standards and will only work in countries which are members of the Kimberley Process. The Company is quoted on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange (AIM: PDL).
Maybe the company is being quite until they get 100% interest in their properties in late summer/early fall. I wonder if that Talison merger is for real. That should have at least made a PR? Still holding and hoping for brighter days.
I wonder whatever became of this?? I know it's older, but I never saw any mention on their website:

Both of their properties have potential to shine, we just need some news to make this stock move again.
Holy sniekies!! Who just bought nine cents worth of mxgd (248 shares @ .0004)?? That has to be a record of some sort.
I would like to be able to see who buys small amounts at slightly elevated prices. Morgan still hasn't answered my previous post calling him out. His Wyoming broker is probably buying some to keep the price up so they can continue their gravy train. Only a press release will be a sign of credible happenings. I hope there is no sale of their stock until they earn it and hope the SEC is monitoring them.
I've been holding stock with MXGD since the fall of 2009 with nothing but steady losses, due to no updates in 15 months and the hidious delution of the stock last November. This leads me to beleive they just have kept themselves in a job spending "our" money for the past two years with absolutely no regard to stockholders. I do hate to sound so negative; but it just gets very discouraging and time IS running out. The Magambe and Golden Hills properties will only become 100% in their "good" name if they spend two (2) million dollars on EACH property before this fall. I doubt they've spent anywhere near that on either of them to date and know that they can't raise any more funds without positive news. So, in a few months time with no news, I would say any money we can recoup will be better than a sharp stick in the eye from Morgan when this just goes away one day. Seeing that he doesn't give the courtesy of responding to anyone's inquiries, I'm going to forward him this post to see where it lands. If he doesn't respond after basically calling him a crook, like any man worth his salt would, then we all will know and I will gladly pass it on to all so we can get on with ending this game. He probably gets a weekly cut from his new buddy in Wyoming until the gravy train runs out in a few months. He doesn't act anywhere near a leader that is trying to promote company growth or even it's survival. Like I said in previous posts, I could come up with something positive to say if I were walking the properties with a shovel and a bucket. Wake up Morgan because your name will be "Mud" to any future investors and you will have zero credibility forever!!
The positive posts have been inspiring. Just think if the company releases ANY news. Maybe Ted Nugent can go hunting on their properties; That alone would raise this to a couple cents :)
I like how stock holders are trying to keep the ask up. We all hope it goes due North from here on out. It will be exciting when we get a PR of some sort. Hopefully Morgan will join our merry band of promoters soon.

They used to have a number in Tanzania, but removed it from their website; shocking! They still don't have any mention on their website for the "Golden Hills" property they are exploring. Good luck.
I agree, with any positive news and periodic inspirational updates, this stock would take off. I truly believe there are marketable discoveries on both of their properties just waiting to be uncovered. That's why I don't understand the no news thing and why Morgan feels he doesn't own investors even a word or two since January of 2010. I know by August of this year they have to have spent $2,000,000 in exploration cost to get full rights to the property. I have faith, but It may be just wishful thinking.
