Congratulations CYGX......definitely the first, of many to follow, IPMT! medical paper.
CYGX'ers.........I fear where this is headed for (but it is a double edge weapon with both good and bad aspects). Suggest checking it out so all will know in the future.
http://www.vetmedpub.com/vetmed/content/printContentPopup.jsp?id=336243
I just hope we (USA and world public health) can get our act together and come up with a vaccine and of course the synDNA route has so much promise.
CYGX - lets get going.
Best to all for a wonderful weekend.
Great fight on HBO (9:30pm) tonight - if your a fight fan, don't miss it!
Rick
From: Medscape.com..........FDA approves "ZOSTAVAX" made by Merck for prevention of "Shingles" (Herpes zoster) in humans 60 years plus. Medscape article out today.
Medscape is an excellent way to do your yearly "contiual education" and/or keep up with noteable events in medicine. One can bookmark it, to keep current.
Cats, unfortunately, have so many viral infectious diseases that it is not too surprising that the German case would pop up but how / where did it get ?- what was it fed - any raw food in the diet (never good)? - any traveling here? - exposure(s) to other animals including birds - and a couple of hundred more questions for the start of an epidemiological study.
I am sure the study will be completed and made public.
My bet is a diet of raw fowl to the cat or some contact with birds, say in a backyard.
Geographically its quite a jump!
Will try to keep the board informed on what comes out in the veterinary medical literature.
Best to all - Rick
Captain..........option on "movie rights" secured by me several years ago !
bigworld.........thanks so much.
The manner of your presentation and the present health problems, it's got to be looked into in a serious manner.
Again, thanks for your constant expertise - from all of us.
The very best for 2006!
Rick
bigworld...........this is an excellent idea on "spiffy" (Ellen) part, if you would kindly drop the email. It can't hurt anything in my mind and you never know who is talking to who. Anything is possible this year (.....i.e. private corps going public?)
Between the present avian flu, lurking for a possible human to human jump and much, much more, there is no end to vaccine applications. The present, ideas of greater purity, efficency, less time to produce and reasonable expenses, changes many reasons why the vaccine market (especially influznea's) has been ignored over the past years. Now it could all change and the speed of production - reliability - safety - and so on makes for a new research field needed if not immediately, in the never ending generations of mutating pathology of micro-organisms.
Medicine (the medical gover't) needs to convince the "powers to be" of the impt/need to spend a few dollars now to prevent what could be difficult to contempate later.
Thanks so much for you constant insights and education to us, especially in the business aspects of microbiology.
You certainly did call the present events which seem to materializing at present. Will be interesting what developes each pasting day.
Rick
sanoman - bigworld........what an interesting idea!
BIGWORLD for CEO!
Meanwhile, bigworld still called the future correctly with CYGX realizing the immediate importance of the vaccination market at present and the near future, CYGX's lack of funds now and possible funding for single-strand DNA projects in the future as a result of vaccine work.
Lets hope it is so.
It is nice to have PP(akaLW) out of the picture. I personally thought it would never amount to anything other than a waste of funds for the atty's and the bad mark temporarily on the record for those new to the picture and future funding and investing. Who wants to buy into a company in legal warfare? If we were in UK - PP would have deep exposure for a lawsuit filed without merit (of course it wouldn't had been filed in UK in the first place).
So much for Master Lane. Oh, except did he sell his valuable website? Small-timer at best.
Regarding the vaccine market......as hanuman pointed out , this is Nobel Prize material.
Just think about a vaccine for influzena(s) - HIV - Malaria - the list is endless.
The importance with synVaccine is the cost and speed related with it as well as the consistant relability or consistency purity of the product. An inroad into anyone area would lead to much more.
Mutation of virus has always been a problem with relative short peroids of time - virus(s) constantly changing with a rather old method of cooking the stuff.
Hope this developes into something nice.
Rick
hogger................
I think, therefore I am, (I think).
How are you?
We just got five new (I mean really new!) vet techs.
We're taking the crew to the movies this weekend
Yes... the King of Kong.
Wouldn't it be nice to get a GOOD buyout for CYGX and get this all over with.
Interesting, the play with PP - David Lane - I think his bio. was the first sign of a small-timer.
But it is embrassing that CYGX got involved with these turkey's in the first place.
Quote from L..........
"I wouln't join a club, who would have me as a member"
Rick
Interesting......any comments?
http://www.stockta.com/cgi-bin/analysis.pl?symb=CYGX&num1=1&cobrand=&mode=stock
bigworld et al........would agree unfortunately with you view as to a response to an excellent suggestion.
Over the years I have proposed a number of good projects to CYGX and the resonse is weak if not silent.
Of course, I believe, I became "non gratis" a number of years ago by the cfo - when he really started screwing up (mice projects - herpes experiments - hollow and failed promises) - it was politely suggested to perhaps try a new route - he suffered a personality disorder over the telephone line in a few seconds and continued for about 5 minutes and that was the end of that. It was embrassing to say the least.
I have been aproached by the coo and dr. chen a few times but when the cfo gets wind of the event - nothing goes forward.
I only hope, in this time of need for numerous vaccines, that CYGX has something which will cause success and income to continue many important work.
Just consider all the "screw-ups" out there who actually eventually prevail in spit of themselves.
We certainly don't want to get rid of the management but if there is a problem within this group - lets correct it, quickly.
OT........once again the excellent NOVA program on the ORIGINS OF HIV was aired on SUNDANCE channel based on the decade and a half investigative work of TED HOPPER following the trail of the third generation POLIO VACCINES and ape mutant virus in kidney tiisue C-40. The microbiologist produced a poor oral vaccine for polio and killed millions of innocent people - then attempt to hide it with lies. Incredible story of science/medicine !
Do read the book by Ted Hopper THE RIVER or instead of reading the 1200 plus pages - google the book title and get a 24 summary of the fascinating story !
bigworld........been following your comments/posts for sometime. Your post # 24027 should be reviewed by one and all. This summary hits it very close to home and the only hope for the future.
As always, thanks for your input. It helps the reality.
Rick
Of course Timothy Leary said it a long time ago...........
"OUR ONLY HOPE IS DOPE"
CYGX'ers and John........Regarding the "septic mice", had a feeling, well not exactly a feeling, it would be IP (intra-peritoneal) regarding the entry on the mouse experiment.
In fact if it wasn't via that route, I would have been rather worried!
Not that I'm not somewhat worried right now.
But I've been in various situations like this before where just when everything looks bad, it just may turn around. Can't hang my hopes on anything at present, but one never knows..............do.......one?
The CYGX board presently is a site of a massive "rope-pulling contest", with neither side with any kind of an advantage.
Lets see what this "sepsis mouse experiment" shows..........it certainly took it's share of time to get out.
But that is the nature of the beast.
Meanwhile, 100,000's died every year and this is only the beginning.
TIME TO GET ON THE STICK ........cygx and FDA!!!
CYGXer's........the recent posts have been getting excellent. You have got to sort of step away from an opinion and take it ALL in......a "whole look".
I still feel that if just one of these areas that CYGX has spread themselves rather thinly at present, were to turn out, everything would take off.
These areas are monstrous and are a furture look into medicine.
I would still like to see that medical article on the e.coli sepsis......it would tell alot and I believe we have a promised date on that now.
I'm still disappointed in the near miss we had on the "give away offer" but thats life.
Lets hope the management knows something positive we presently have no idea of, to even vaguely justified that event.
God knows they tell us nothing we could hang a DNA chain on.
I have always wondered if in a thinly traded stock like CYGX which is basically selling a concept at present, will behave in technical terms as a real stock does(?).
I believe it was stated that the DNA, CYGX wants to offer, could be created in the present laboratory facility. Even without FDA approval there would be at least a research and academic market for this, based on future approval of course. Especially if it is less expnsive.
We still face the litigation with PP.......lets hope we do a little better on this one.......I really never understood what that whole deal was all about.
Again, congratulations on the posts.......the opposite opinion are not bad and are needed as well as all the speculation.
Good "fight" (boxing) on HBO tonight Sat 10:00pm.
Always nice to watch someone else 'getting the shit beaten out of them' for a change........especially in a scientific way!
Rick
bigworld........impressive business/outlook. Sounds excellent! By all means pass it on to CYGX. It certainly won't hurt.
The sepsis study in mice........it has been a secret as too the means of delivery in that study but it was not transdermal.
Seems something should be released soon, publication wise. Sooner or later it must be released, if there is anything to it. And I do believe it was promised. Publications in science take time but a large amount of time has pasted.
I don't believe the delivery in the sepsis study (mice) was IM
(intramuscular).......I certainly could be wrong. IM is certainly a means of systemic delivery and one we are all quite use too. I remember something about the delivery of the infection as IP (intraperitoneal =in to the abdomen) and somehow, felt the most likely means of the CYGX plasmid delivery would have been IP also. IP does get into the system/organism quickly and also with great profusion systemically. And it's a means often used in studies such as these.
All this energy put in for the "lining of pockets" with little in terms of accomplishments to warrant the SHM agenda.
Many of us have been with CYGX for 5 to 7 years waiting something of substance to happen as opposed to speculating about what could or will happen. Soon (very soon) 5 years will be 10 years then what will we do, as we wait for real action.......not the many speculations released.
We are running out of time here.......and yes...... "our time is near" or "its not at all".
I would say the next 12 months will make and show
the difference now.
Best bet ------- simply don't vote.
These options have no meaning at this time and are completely unwarranted at present.
The only way we can express an objection is to
not vote and perhaps a quorum will not be available to vote on an option plan which is a rather ridiculous plan considering the CYGX performance of management to date.
Consider the past history of CYGX management i.e. the past lawsuit this early year.
Lawsuits cost money and one usually doesn't start them without a good basis.
If CYGX is paying for this campaign to get votes to set up a vote to past an "option plan" to make management wealty-----this is improper !
If management is paying for the Morrow telephone campaign out of their own pockets ------- are they representing the shareholders best interests? NO.
As most of you feel at present ------- We love the science but the management is questional at best.
Think about it and do the smart thing for yourself.
Just got the call from Morrow company who at first represented himself as management of CYGX, seeking proxy's for vates over the telephone (?) - when comforted by a few questions - like, why does my caller ID say you are "Morrow" not CYGX - the answer is "we have been hired by CYGX to get votes" - yes, he was quite aware of the real reason for getting the proxy to get the "option plan" over. Apparently he is not doing so well getting proxy's and admitted as much.
And now we have a business expense for CYGX of hiring "Morrow" to get approval of the "option plan" to get a larger reward for management for future considerations.
First it's the paid-for-interview shows, an idea of the CFO ("the new wave of advertising" for stocks) 5 to 10K a pop to pump the air. What next?
Not good !
CYGX - not very professional, to say the least.
You will get Options with my approval, when you deserve them and not sooner.
CYGX MANAGEMENT - very unprofessional !
CYGX board.........please reread "Hogger" posting.
DO NOT VOTE !!!
This is the only option we have to express ourselves.
It do believe the vote or the ability to vote will come down to the large share holders..........but voting NO is like voting for the options plan.
Best to all !
OT Hogger..........
VICTIM OF CHIMP MAULING OUT OF COMA
Yes, I remember this incident well. It is almost painful to read the event and consider the injuries. Nasty stuff!
The horror.
If you had the choice of being in an elevator with a GORILLA - Orangutan - CHIMPANZEE .........don't even think about the CHIMP........when mature........it's sudden death drawn out into deep raging pain.
I see this from time to time at the "Farm".
It can be horrible.
It all performs on a structured system, highly organized.
It does seem to be a peroidic thing.......maybe it's the stars.
Bottom line........don't screw with the nonhuman primates!!!
Then again, so do the padantics and solilquy of the CYGX board. Keep up the good and bad work (mostly good!)
I personally think it's been a rough last 45 days or so. Does anyone else feel this way.........but I think it's going to better soon and the horror will leave.
Best to all...........Rick
MICHAEL JACKSON......not guitly (but still strange.....)!!!!
hogger.........I wish I had a "magic injection" to solve the problem. What happened in Nam was such a complicated problem usually (in fact, almost always) ending in death. But strangely the answer looked at in hind sight was so simple and the benefits were incredible !
Has anyone received anything from CYGX regarding the shareholder meeting and the questioned "option plan"?
I have not.
I do agree that this plan is often used in the corporate world but we should admit, rewards are properly given after accomplishments and not in hopeful anticipation of same.
In fact the entire business plan seems to be in a holding pattern, waiting for a "white knight" to ride in and get things on track.
Meanwhile, I cannot give up my shares to support something which seems to be out of place and vague at best. It appears that not voting - to control the quorum is the present plan. Voting against the option plan will not work. Stopping the vote on this plan by preventing a quorum would be the only possible means of having some input into this plan.
I will be more than happy to support option plans (rewards) when this is appropriate but not before.
Rick
CD_98........good to see the light !
CYGX'ers........never thought I say this, but the email message by LW was rather good.
God....lightning just struck on computer!!!!!!!!
Well it's better than no message or the usual stuff in the past.
There was alot of thought placed in this email.
That's nice!
Great weekend to all......it's been quite a month (May - June).
Alot of pathology and all the usual.
OT: Excellent fight on Showcase tonite!
OT thought.
LIGHT TRAVELS FASTER THAN SOUND.
That's why some appear bright until you hear then
talk.
All things considered, even in these times, the option deal is if not outrageous is a bit frightening !
But once again, if CYGX came though with just one of many possibles, the stock would be three figures and we would all be happy and proud to have taken a high risk investment in something needed desparately in medicine.
Once again, we come from a position of having to speculate with some excellent examples (good job all).
CYGX chooses not to inform it's shareholders to any degree. This is always a mistake - a definite negative.
On a positive thought, the option deal is so ridiculous, that I hope (without any reasoningbehind it) that there is truely something great in the near term future (meaning 6 to 18 months from now).
My best to all - keep the excellent conversation going and please keep the faith....................Rick
HOGGER...............Jerry, the monkeys are presently hitch-hiking down to Texas.
Warning: they are in the necessary disguise !
Rick
OT: For your enjoyment
Good fight on HBO tonight "Glotta" with the heavy hands taking on a strong contender !
Saturday night 9 or 10pm.
Don't forget the last/final episode of DEADWOOD on HBO Sunday 9pm. Incredible series - always good for numerous laughs.
Nice weekend to all - Rick
Hanuman...........John, approval can move faster than FDA but much has changed in the past recent years at USDA such as the elimination of combination drugs (i.e. DIATHAL an excellent entertis drug with a antispasmonic and antibiotic - it was a great drug still needed. They even eliminated Panalog (ear medication) but recently it can back on market. There have been changes of late.
But I believe the general process remains faster than the FDA but fast tracking is not heard of.
Rick
Hanuman...........John, this is an excellent point you make.
USDA is in run basically as the FDA protocol but with a different set of people. They have to be safe both for animals but also for humans down the line since we do feed on them from time to time. Of course meds must be "out" of the animals system before we eat them or even drink their milk.
In anycase, a demonstration of usefulness in veterinary medicine would go a long way in human medicine and the market in animals is quite signficant!
Rick
A very Blessed EASTER to all.............Keep the FAITH!
hogger..........been one of those weeks !
Everything went wrong (admittedly w/o me) so why wouldn't CYGX come out second best - right or wrong?
Suky........good finds.
Actually we been using the maggots for hundreds (if thousands of years) with great results. Leeches too.
They have a strong union-representative and the FDA will not fool around with them.
I love the side-effects on Xigris........"like death"
CD_98.......you got it!
If you put them on ingore, they don't smell as much.
holycow and ellen (sippy33).......
please send your current email addresses - Ellen I have 2 different ones for you - need to down load the correct one on my famous mail list. Thanks!
Rick
http://www.grrdvm@hotmail.com
arnold and neo43........John, exactly correct.
Juan is the "font" man, doing what he can and probably getting paid in stock. No problem with this, if it is done well.
We can all make our personal assetments of his value to CYGX.
I spoke to him a year ago and he was pleasant enough but sorely lacking in basic knowledge in the science.
Strangely enough he was very interested in finding from me whatever he could about "Thalio". I gave him his telephone number, to ask and be answered possibly the questions.
One disappointing point, a number of questions asked could not be answered. So the plan, at that point, was to get the answers and return a telephone call with possible answers. Never happened! I figure he was just getting started and fumbled the ball. It happens.
The promotion of CYGX by Jaun via "eStreet" and "talking heads" (MS and the radio talks) does so little for a start-up company. Therefore the costs must be considered. While it doesn't cause harm, it does to me and others appear to be a desparate (somewhat unprofessional) attempt of "a start-up company" also known as a "penny stock".
All these things considered, I feel that if it weren't for the outstanding patent on "ssDNA plasmid" that CYGX (Dr Conrad) developed, with the present management, I would be out of here in something measured in milli-seconds.
But I'm here and I still firmly believe, considering the science involved, that just one success say in HSV or Spesis or whatever, CYGX will take off SPwise never to be stopped.
It is a gamble and the present complaints we are all more or less are sharing now, it canbe more than frustrating.
I often wonder what some of the noted board members think about all this?
Wouldn't you love to be the "fly on the wall" at an annual meeting. "What has happened in the last year and where are we going in the future".
And always keep in mind, "on-the-job" can work, sometimes. Some of my best "medical technicans" are living proof of this. They never cease to amaze me at their quality of their work as well as their valuable minds and acomplishments.
Sometime else to considered. The SP is holding up and there is more or less constant selling by the various "paid-in-stock" types. This looks good and its my feeling that some informed investors are pro-CYGX investing money in a rather wise way.
Things could be worst or is it............things were better when they were wrost?
Rick
arnold et al CYGX........Juan Ferreira founder- editor- writer- publisher of Estreet Journal - the same publication hailing CYGX sometime back and the same person doing (if you are kind enough to called that) the PR for CYGX.
Is this somewhat a conflict of bullshit! ?
Please think about it - it is the same person and it's all so very tacky!
Regarding the PR from CYGX on HSV lesions - reading the various comments on this subject - seems there is alot of confusion.
Basically it is good news even if it is the usual (underline usual) vague PR release from CYGX.
It is only a very small part of the overall research by CYGX on HSV.
CYGX has a great patent (sciencewise) but the news release's are rather poor (to be very kind). Whoever is dreaming up the business plan should re-examine the process.
Look at the reaction good news got on this board. And you are investors with an active interest and knowledge in this area. What would be the reaction of a newbie looking in on this company for the first time.
All that aside, most of the negative to even midroad comments are incorrect from a science point of view.
The treatment in a 0.1% solution regresses HSV lesions in a 3 day peroid of time. This is a beginning point being presented to the public. PLEASE believe me, this NOT the full story here. Think about it - all this time and you are reading something that could have been performed in one week. The overall process is detailed and this short PR is not the full story. Such is the way of CYGX.
CYGX is in a lawsuit with Phaunel Pursuits. I really don't think much of anything will be released until the case is resolved. And after reading this latest PR, PP was light years away from doing much of anything (considering they could do something).
Bottom line: the CYGX/PP case does not compute.
Next line: CYGX, please get some fresh blood in on future PR's - presently (even if its good news) it just doesn't FLOAT!
Hogger.......Jerry thanks for the kind words.
The good news today is, all indictments were dropped.
Seems the local DA was embassed by his close.......ah, involvement.
Have a great weekend all.........do it all and often!
Rick
hogger..........Jerry, I have good news and well..............
The last escaped Rhesus has returned in excellent health and there was a small celibration.
Seems 10 days in the lowlands of South Carolina "wilds" was a good vacation for the primate.
One thing.........she's pregnant !
I have nothing further to say on this subject except that to the special person............. she is HERPES-B positive.
She has become somewhat of a celebrity locally and I guess has a new close admirer (who is going to die)!
Remember the wire-news article you posted last week entitled "SHOW ME YOUR NIPPLES". The Gorilla's amist doing sign language.
Seems it moved me so much, I trained 1264 Rhesus to "sign" this message............"SHOW ME YOUR NIPPLES".
Unfortunately I have been indicted on 38 counts of sexual harassment by 37 lady co-workers and 1 gentlemen co-worker (?).
Such is my life in the South Carolina lowlands.
It's not a job, it's an adventure.
Best - Rick
Inter_Pares...........thanks for your insights.
Your posts are highlites on the CYGX/IHUB sight - please
continue when appropriate and convenient for your knowledge.
To all - a great weekend!
Rick
hogger.........jerry, no luck today but as BigB asked,
"I wonder what tomorrow will bring.
Maybe some "more nipples".
In the primate world this is referred to as "non-human primate enrichments problems".
PhD's have done their "feces" on these enrichment projects (sorry about the spelling).
Of course in the wire story you posted, this is a "human - non-human enrichment problem". And I for one, like it!
I believe I will post the "show me you nipples" wire story at the center tomorrow.
A little stimulation is always good.
We're quite desparate at this point in time and usually will resort to anything. Anything for the primates! Anything!
But thats an entirely different issue.
Meanwhile, do I have any volunteers. After all, it's for the good of science.
As I inspire the good doctors every morning, "lets stomp out some pathology!"
Best to all - Rick
hogger.............thanks for the call to Malcolm and letting us know the results. It all makes sense and several such as Hanuman (John) were right on tract with your results.
Very best regarding next week at court - hoping there is an answer which will please as much as possible everyone.
Best - Rick
