Good. I'm glad to hear that. I just can't get over how many bad stories I hear about all FX brokers on the internet. I thought it would be nice to get some real feedback.
Oanda would be my first choice exept I'm not a big fan of how they close their daily candles and do a Sunday candle. I plan to trade the daily charts mostly but, it's hard to find a broker that uses 5 candles with a New York close.
Hi all, Do any of the forex players have any experience with FXDD or Axitrader? I like both simply for their 5 day New York time daily candle closes. But it seems hard not to find any negative reviews about any forex brokers. According to the internet they are all scum lol.
I've noticed that. I've been making most of my trades when I get home at about 430
Haha. I'll bet OSHA would've had a heyday back then.
Good to see you to. One more week of nights and I will be around more. I always get screwed up with nights.
Me too haha. Those guys were crazy back then.
I know. I've been stuck on night shift for a few weeks so I'm all screwed up haha.
Yea I'm having fun with fx. I love it. I've been just trading price action using support and resistance levels and trying to go with the trends on the daily charts. I've been doing pretty good with these methods and have decent risk reward ratios and have been right more than wrong so far.
Still trading the demo account but its fun just the same.
Haha, just getting started. My first game. +27.49% completely naked trading just candles. Now I'm addicted lol.

Will do Ticket. Thanks.
Good advise! I'm trying to treat the account like it was real money probably much to my detriment. I should be experimenting and trading with it.
Will do bud. I look forward to playing with it.
Thanks Ticket, I'll take you up on that when you get more time on your hands.
Good luck with work.
Nice! I was just thinking how handy something like this would be. I get so sick of looking at old charts for setups all while knowing if they came to pass or not instantly. I always wished there was a way to get a quiz or something without being able to see past the setup before you make the call.
Thanks DA!
Funny you mention CBI. As of mid January, I work for CBI in an oil refinery here in Minnesota. I saw the stock price has really gone crazy and I just thought it was because word got out about me joining them haha.
Last Wednesday the merger with Shaw was announced to employees officially, making CBI one of the largest contractors in the US.
Thanks, That was just another day on the job building Rockefeller Center. Those guys were tough and had balls.
Thanks DA, I completely agree with forcing things out of haste. I was so guilty of doing things like that in the penny market. I will not go down that road again.
Now I just look at how many hours it takes for me to make my money in below zero temperatures and I straighten right out. It's my money and I'd like to be done giving it away!
Thanks for the thoughts on candlesticks also.
Thanks bud. I forgot how much I like being here.
Yea I never figured out guys that named themselves after their jobs lol.
Thanks for the reply AD!
What are your thoughts on Oanda as a FX broker? I wouldn't have even thought of a broker going belly up. I haven't researched it much but, it seems like Oanda is one of the biggest and oldest fx brokers around.
I would agree with the fact of much to learn. I look forward to absorbing myself in forex for a while learning and studying as much as I can.
I asked DA already but, do you put any consideration into candlestick patterns? I have seen many youtube videos where some guys use these types of plays almost exclusively and maybe use an indicator or 2 for some confirmation.
A guy that really advocates the bullish/bearish engulfing patterns is Oliver Velez. I know all about his scammy dealing with running prop shops but, does his technical analysis make any sense? Could it really be that easy? A good reversal candlestick pattern and a good risk/reward ratio sounds like it's too simple but, maybe it is that simple? Thoughts?
Thanks for the feedback DA!
I had my eyes on that video board already. Can't wait to spend some serious time there.
What time frame did you mostly trade fx in?
One more question, Do you put any stock in candlestick reversal patterns like bullish/bearish engulfing candles, hanging man, hammer, ect?
Thanks bud. I've seen Ticket around but didn't know he was an fx player. I will surely check out that board.
I hear ya on the too much info. The only reason I even bothered was because I've just been absorbing T/A to brush up and thought what the heck.
Thanks for the info bud!
Ok AD, you asked for it. What are your thoughts on forex? I've been looking pretty hard into it and like what I see so far. I've watched it trade a little and have a practice account set up with Oanda (thanks to the ibox) to try some trading with it. (Can't wait for the market to open tomorrow.)
I would love to hear some opinions on the subject from anyone that has insight on it. I am well aware of money management such as getting into trouble with leverage and so forth but, I really don't see that being much of a problem since I have pretty good brains when it come to losing too much money. Plus, the leverage can't be any worse than trading stinky pinkys lol and I'm not going to do that crap anymore.
A more specific question to anyone that knows, is rollover for longer trades somewhat figured into the prices of currency pairs already? Does it act like news where the price usually already has it figured in?
Rollover still seems somewhat confusing to me. It also might not make much of a difference unless you are trading very large contracts.???
I really like the trading hours since it would fit my situation way better that the stock market at this point for shorter term trades.
I like that there are no commissions other than the spreads (which you have in the stock market anyway + commissions).
I also like the instant settlement of funds so I could keep trading right away with a smaller account and not be bound to 3 business days for settlement.
Another thing is no pattern day trading rules.
The list keeps growing of things I like the more I study this market.
If anyone has any thoughts, experience, or warnings I would really appreciate them.
Hey AD! Good to see ya. I'll be bugging you you in no time haha.
I hear ya. I might just try the free thing again since the only reason I pay is for no ads and for the 50 post view. I'm pretty sure I can follow my small handfull of boards 1 post at a time lol.
When the hell did ihub start putting so many damn ads on every page. I have a 30mb/s download speed and it still won't load this pos website.
I am paying $10 a month and they still put 1 ad on every post in my 50 post view. That's 50 freeking ads of the exact same thing on every 50 views I look at.
I also see that for a premium I can get rid of the ads. So let's see... I can pay a premium on top of a premium in order to not see ads. Sounds like a good deal. I might cancel my membership just out of spite.
Good to see you too Dent!
Things are going pretty good. I'm in training to get some of my rusty TA skills sharpened up before I get back to trading.
One thing I do know is, I'm done with pinks and OTCBB stocks lol.
Good luck bud and I'll see you around.
I'll be around bud. I see you've moved up in the world. Head coach of the ATM. Way to go.
Hey ATM! Wow it's been awhile. I think I'm finally ready to get back into some action but, man am I rusty. I need to relearn about 90% of what I already learned (which wasn't much haha).
Good to see everyone AD, LB, Dent, DA, and many others I'm sure I'm forgetting.
Good luck and have a great 2013!
AD, That sounds like a good time bud. Just can't possibly do it though. This whole working thing is starting to get annoying haha. I think it's going to let up pretty soon and I'm looking forward to getting back to the market and the ATM. Take care all!!!
BTW... The complaint board must only be for paying members since it won't let me post and I must've let my subscription run out.
Still here from time to time bud. Just sucking up info and overtime so when work slows down I'll be ready if ya know what I mean.
When's this Dow going to crash again? Funds like TIVX are looking pretty cheap right now. What other things should I be looking at?
Don't worry bud just set your sell for 3 and take your 50% with a smile. I've gotten my money back and then some doing just that on that pos. these types of stocks need to be treated like the dogs they are lol.
Way to go bud. I'm loaded with 2s and another order has been in for 1s for a long time.
What's up AD!!! Good to see you too bud!
My personal opinion is that the heavy construction industry is coming back but, like I've said before, the jobs that are going on now were in the works for a year or better. What the future holds is anybody's guess.
I will say this: the frac-sand industry is booooming! Frac sand is used in the oil and natural gas industry for retrieving more oil and gas from wells. Since its so hard to get approval for new drilling these days, companies are trying to get all they can from the existing wells.
The last 5 months I've been working on screening and production facilities for producing frac sand. One of the plants I worked on was owned by Enron Oil and Gas. These companies were willing to pay extra to get these plants up and running. And by extra I'm talking about a ton of (union labor) overtime labor costs. I've been putting in 70 to 80 hours a week so you can use your imagination about the kind of extra money this industry is willing to pay to get the sand out into the field.
I'll be hitting It pretty hard through the summer. Where it goes from there I don't know yet. I'm not sure what any of this means from a market standpoint but, if anyone can figure it out I'm sure you can.
Take care AD.
Good to see you too bud. I've all but forgotten about CNOZ. I'll have to take another look. Been hanging around down in the gutter one tick flipping the heck out of some other lowly penny lol. Once I get to know a stock I stay with it even if it moves really slow.
Going really good Dent. Hope you had a great Holliday. I'm looking forward to this year unless the Myans turn out to be correct lol...
Good morning ATM! It's been a while since I've been here so I've got a lot of catching up to do. I've been in the market but, not on the message boards due to lack of time.
I see this is just as informative and polite as it always was. It's nice to see that some things never change.
What's up LB? I picked up 3 mil when it hit 2 the other day. I had an order in for 2 weeks lol. Go BFHJ.
Yeah I'll bet you do but, don't you mean cargo ship instead of row boat? Haha, have a good one bud. Go BFHJ!
