The way I heard it is that 25 employees are needed to begin with to get Mill going. More later. I am pretty sure that is what we were told. Right, AK?
Silverton will glady take 25 new jobs or residents. Any day!
BTW, we do not have K-marts in or near Silverton, nor will there ever be.
I must correct you, 567. It was not 37. It is about 15 right now, but it did get up to higher 20's yesterday. Many wearing shorts and t-shirts! However the last weeks lows have have been -22,-24,-26 degrees. And we are expecting -14 to -19 over the next week. Not exactly balmy. ;)
Not much snow. We are supposed to see some over the next 4 days. We will see.
LOL. I understand!
There is no connection between the San Juan County Historical Society or Bev Rich with CGFI. Beverly Rich resigned from Board of CG a while back.
The Silverton Northern Railroad is a dream of a lifelong Silverton TRAIN ENTHUSIAST and Has NOTHING to do with CGFI.
The Mayflower Mill is owned by the Historic Society and offers self-guided tours of the Mill during the summer. I seriously doubt that it would ever become a functioning mill again.
SUCH IMAGINATIONS!
A couple of the small ones are supposedly mining.
There were over 3,000 mines around Silverton during it's HEYDAY!
I FOUND THE KEY, MT!!! AK dropped it up the Mill!
I will MOOSE EX it to you!!!!
I was shocked at the amount of the equipment inside the Mill. Fearn said it would cost $6-7 million to replace it all. Right, AK?
Actually, I upgraded my lighting . I got a new camera this week with a powerful flash. Sorry to disappoint!
I was not sure that everyone had seen them before, so I posted what I took yesterday.

GO CGFI!!!!
We are having awesome,in the 50's degree weather. I have not had a chance to get out to the Mill, but I suspect not a lot is happening right now.
At the end of the day, you would look like a fool.
Great webcam find, Ficose. I have never seen this cam before.
We are all pretty tough here. A wee bit of chilly weather doesn't affect us.
I will contact Steve Fearn and arrange the tour! Shouldn't be too difficult. He lives right across the street from me!
Sorry, AK, that is my job. I got here first! Ö
12 new pictures added to the CGFIA Album taken today:

There wasn't anyone else out there today and it was pouring rain. I will let everyone know when I have more info!
Went to the Mill today!
Check it out! https://picasaweb.google.com/silvertonwebworks/ColoradoGoldfields?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCL7d8KSAs8fMIQ&feat=directlink
GO Colorado Goldfields!!!!!
As Ficose said... you took a wrong turn. This is NOT the the Pride of the West Mill.
Friday I will go up there and see if they are indeed transformers. I will take pictures and report back. There was definitely some action at the Mill today.
Hi Digits... So sad to hear this news. Elaine will be in my thoughts.
Ok, I have some news! 2 guys were seen working in the ponds area where they are pumping water out of. Trucks are on the other side of the road. There is now a small manufactured building on site. AND it looks like there are some fairly new transformers that have been put in place on the transformer rack in back of the Mill, which was empty last week. The transformers are to supply power to the Mill.
I will try to get out there Friday and take some shots!!!
That's too bad that you were here and went to the wrong place. As Ficose said, you took a left instead of a right. You went to Gladstone instead of Howardsville.
Oh! My!GAWSH! What a great and fun week! The Brass Bands practiced at the school all week and then gave 4-3 hour performances... and they were HOT!
Railfest was a hoot. Hung out down on the river all afternoon waiting for the trains to come by to take their pictures. The Rum Bar this evening! Gorgeous weather. Fun time for all.
The only jail we have is the 1902 jail, which is part of the Museum. They send your butt to Durango now.
We have a Sheriff and SEVERAL deputies. They are famous for giving WARNINGS, though.
You bet! However, there is not much open after October 30th. We have about 4 restaurants and maybe 4 stores that stay open during winter. No telling if there will be snow on the ground or not in November, but if it is not snowing, it is quite easy to get to the Mill. The road is wide and maintained very well in the winter. You will love Silverton!
COME ON DOWN!!!
GO $CGFIA!!!!!
John F (and Tank) were seen working at the Mill over the weekend. A year ago John was not very optimistic about a favorable DRMS decision, but now I hear that he is a very happy camper! GO, GO, GO CGFIA!!!!
I'm sitting here waiting for you all to show up!!!!
They were introduced to the Creede area a few years ago and several have migrated here. They hang out by the POW Mill and South Mineral area. These are both flat and wet areas (beaver ponds galore).
We have "MOOSES" in Silverton.
I LIKE IT! Have some other ideas, too!
You BETCHA!!!
Go, GO, GO CGFIA!!!!
I only had to walk up the street a quarter mile, however, you are welcome. I wish we had more to say, but not much transpired. The August meeting will be more "interesting".
In simple English, they were removed as objections. They are no longer relevant.
Sorry everyone, I had evening plans last night and did not get home until late.
Ficose pretty much summed it up for the hearing. The August meeting will determine what happens now, but I am still optimistic. IMO, I do not think that Hennis or INFORM's objections amount to much.
Does this look really like a profile of a SCAM ARTIST to you: http://www.linkedin.com/in/stephenguyer
I will be there.
