Hi Tuna, RE ENY, Yahooers are all discussing some kind of lawasuit. I couldn't find anything on it though, Sounds like a weight but then thats probably y the stock price is not higher.
Burk, re CRamer, He starts his book out referencing "other" nine year old kids in 1964 looking at comic strips. He was looking at the business section of course.
Lee, perhaps you mean a "lockbox"
edit delete, off to bed.
Hi Lee, I had a paper route some 30+ years ago too. There is no way that I would let my 12 year oldkid roam around the city on a bike at 4am. these days. Times were different then though. Are you thinking gap and crap today?
Yeah EBAY really suckin hind tit. eom
Cy, re link. thanks eom.
extelecom, RE: coins, There is a very active coin market on ebay, any bullion silver priced at a little below spot sells. Most goes for more than spot depending on how the seller sets up the listing including freight etc. Of course the seller has to deal with ebay's different fees. There is also a company called bullion direct that has a mini ecn for metals. Right now the spread on a one oz. Kugerand is 427/429.
nomoweed copied from same site <Satan’s Pilgrims from Portland, Oregon, had the goods: the look, the sound, and the songs. The Pilgrims’ sound—Pacific Northwest garage rock mixed with Southern California surf stylings—was the perfect antidote to boring ’90s “alternative” rock. Disc 1 of this 2-CD set compiles tracks from the band’s five full-length releases. Disc 2 contains unreleased and rare tracks and recordings only released on compilations and singles.> Might be too hard for me these days, but I will listen to em and decide.
Cy , thanks I will check it out. I listen to devlar surf on live 365 really like it also.
Hi Lee, was that Gilbert who did that alone again naturally song. I liked that and saw Chicago in concert, they were awesome. Mostly back then I liked the bands that are now used for car commercials , Led Zeppelin etc. See my post to nomoweed for a link to the stuff I've evolved too.
momoweed, edit Nomoweed (sorry) dont know those bands but here is what I'm mostly into these days. http://www.zptdudamusic.com/index.shtml
Lots of good instrumental stuff free samples, falcons, aquavelvets, duotones. Tons of great bands most folks have never heard of...
Mandy, I hated that song (still do), now if you played Barry Manilow back to back with the BEEgees you would have the ultimate in torture music. Wait I know - the ultimate torture music would be if they remade Mandy but from a rap band. <GG>
Stevie, nope must be someone else with good taste <GG>
Anything by Barry Manilow. eom
this isnt Ihub anymore its Ihuba huba eom.
golf, link doesnt work eom.
Teri re EBAY, seems like it has split around this price a couple times in the past.
Ok Dan thanks. eom.
From the age of the people on their commercials thats about right. On a side note they have a sales call center here in Oregon that they are constantly trying to staff, they might not be as fun to work for in real life as they appear to be on tv.
Lee, it could just be a software problem. Have you called Dell?
basserdan, are there any gold stocks that you like with gold at this relatively high level? Goldcorp, symbol GG looks like it might be worthy. Pays a dividend, no debt, optionable, and has a stash. Others?
AD, re Goog, scalped it long today . Thought for a second I would have to sell way itm calls to save myself but it turned out ok. As always coulda bot lower and sold higher.
It was 50 a couple weeks ago. I had covered calls on it and legged out on Tuesday this week. They were the 47.50s , I rode that thing all over the place though. Can certainly trade like a devil stock.
Ken, re TASR , there is an article on Yahoo linked form Reuters that talks about all the insider selling. High beta stock on a down market day with a negative news article.
almost like a rump but with more fiber..
Almost green close on dow..eom
YHOO , just trying to kick around the value of GOOG shares to YHOO, YHOO market cap is around 38 bil, GOOG value adds 1/2 to probably 3/4 bil. Probably doesn't matter much since YHOO can move more than that in a single day. Don't know about GOOG servers but in relation to the IPO, server problems for a couple hours don't matter IMHO.
YHOO will get some bucks off the GOOG ipo , selling 10 % of its stake according to YHOO news.
<Among selling stockholders, Time Warner Inc.'s (NYSE:TWX - News) America Online unit and Yahoo Inc. (NasdaqNM:YHOO - News) both plan to sell 10 percent of their stakes in the IPO, including 743,745 shares by AOL and 549,888 by Yahoo, according to the prospectus.>
http://biz.yahoo.com/rb/040726/tech_google_ipo_6.html
Correct my math here as needed but at 100 bucks a share thats about 50 million and since its only 10% that gives YHOOs share of GOOG a light value of half a billion. Not bad at all.
Speedy rally from these levels is also acceptable.
How about a green close today?
ot. marketmaven, ok are you really talking to me here? Freaky
Stowboat, Considering you're longer term view then holding makes sense. It sure moved around today. I agree about buying back at lower prices, I traded it a couple months back when it tanked on the google IPO announcement. Shoulda held , been straight up off that low of 50 (25 after split).
Stowboat , RE YHOO, seems to me like holding thru earnings is just a gamble to me. Even if they are good you never really know how the stock will react. That being said I hope it goes well for you. I like to trade on earnings day myself , just not to hold thru usually.
Bill, nice informative post thx. eom
Patrick, thats y I mostly lurk, don't want to torture Zeev.
Bill, RE SNDK, I think that move is from around 42 or so to the present price. If I remember correctly they split a few months back, still not very good though. I for one thought it would bounce off of the 25's but no.
