this is painful..its not even worth selling now..i guess will just hold it till the end of the year for the tax loss harvesting..
but oh well.. learned my lesson the hard way....
penny stocks are for short term trading only..ride the wave n get out - get your money and run as fast as you can...
dont trust anyone..especially the CEO..dont buy their stories..dont buy their dreams...trust your instincts...if its a penny stock, it's there for a reason..
gluck to you all..hope this pig wakes up one day n we recover our money :)
i dont know about u..but i think i will wait till it hits sub penny...no point in averaging down when the company doesnt even update its shareholders..
indeed its leaving the station..
has left the station so many times before only to turn around n come back at the same station...
hopefully this time it will be for real...we will see..
btw just noticed that all our old moderators are gone...whatever happened to them???
one more skeleton in the closet...just got this google alert..

Yesterday I had my first real experience with Spotify. I live in New York, but this week I'm staying with a friend in London. I liked it, I liked it a lot. Unfortunately with it's current business model I doubt it will survive once the investors money dries up. From a consumer standpoint it's great, with the one exception being the annoying radio commercials which pop up unexpectedly between plays every 10 to 20 minutes. I accept this happens when listening to radio stations, but when I want to listen to an album I don't want an ad interrupting my listening experience.
Having been involved with a number of "free" music ventures I fear for the long term success of Spotify. Getting the balance right between too many ads and not enough to pay the bills is part art, part science, with a huge smattering of luck. Right now they don't have enough radio commercials, or banner ads to generate significant revenue to satisfy the demands of the labels and the publishers. If they are able to increase the frequency of commercials the consumer experience will suffer. Today the gaps between radio commercials are long, but the more successful they become the shorter the gap will be and the more annoying for the consumer.
I could enjoy an ad free experience if I took out a subscription, but why should I when free music is available almost everywhere. A subscription service should offer value beyond the monthly fee. Until a service figures that out (supported by the music industry) subscription services will never amount to much.
Also it should be noted that the advertising industry isn't holding its breath waiting for the arrival of another "free" music site, they already have plenty of places to reach young consumers. Spotify or any other new model is going to have to deliver an outstanding experience and generate a huge fan base if they hope to secure real blue chip ad dollars. I truly wish Spotify the very best of luck as the music business needs to grow and change if it is to survive. These type of services should be supported, dare I say be treated as partners not just short term cash cows.
Full disclosure. My company Rebel Digital is an adviser to Qtrax. Regardless of this relationship, what I have said is the view of a genuine music fan.
Robin.
we have waited for so long..whats one more week..ehh..if it doesnt happen this time then i guess most of us will jump this ship..
'but as in the past they didnt always deliever so always invest wisely'
i like the disclaimer...
got some partial fills at 0.48 in the morning....
whats the share structure look like ?
nice...some sucker just sold me bunch at 0.52
agreed..
do you know how many times we need to connect a player/phone with internet for drm to work ?
"The launch of Qtrax in the region is well timed as the public realizes that peer-to-peer music download services while popular, are illegal."
as far as i know, nobody gives a damn in SE Asia if downloads are illegal...
I believe compatibility with mobile phones (n not ipod) will play a huge part in qtrax success in that part of world.
Also bigger better collection of music and faster downloads will work in qtrax's favour...
thats correct..it all depends on the outlook..
at this time, pps/volume is telling me that "GLASS is half empty"....
personally i dont see launch happening anytime soon...for me 'WHEN' is more important rather than just taking it for granted that it will launch...but then again what do i know...i dont have any experience running a business nor do i have any friends/relatives or their friends working with qtrax.
All i know is Market never lies....we all will know when its going to launch based on the stock movement...some will know a day sooner and some a day later...
i hope this takes off and we all make money...

Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway.
"I couldn't agree more...when the launch happens it WILL be right! "
shouldn't it be: "I couldn't agree more...WHEN the launch happens, it will be right! "
Wayne Rosso is one of the most outspoken, controversial and pioneering figures in the world of digital media. In September of 2004 he founded Mashboxx, the first open file sharing application to be authorized by the major recording labels.
http://www.waynerosso.com/
he criticized Qtrax and Allen pretty harshly in his blogs..
http://www.waynerosso.com/2009/05/28/update-qtrax-correction-sort-of/
Though initially Mashboxx was supposed to be accredited by the music industry, pecuniary matters led to an almost slow death of the company...may he is still mad for that..may be not..
Well we didnt scream when blln didnt have anything... or when it failed midem launch....what makes u think we will scream now when they have all labels signed up????
Atleast to me that says PROGRESS from last year...if it had been a year without any contracts then i would have screamed...but not now...
this stock is better thn most other pinkies/financial stocks out there right now...
i totally agree with GoQ on that one...ipod/mac outside USA/UK is a total luxury...it is nice n sleek but it gets really expensive when u convert all those dollars in respective local currencies...
Most ppl use their cell phones to listen to their fav songs atleast in developing countries and that is the market where qtrax should/will be targeting.

Nokia Launches New Digital Music Stores in Austria and Switzerland
its same as itunes..pretty much...paid and music downloaded from Nokia Music Store can be conveniently moved between your PC and compatible Nokia device, as well as copied to CD and moved on to compatible digital music players.
why cant nokia do something similar in USA?? it can probably tie up with qtrax but then it can do it on its own as well....
if it opens similar paid music stores then why would they tie up with free service like qtrax?
i guess we will know in time....
went up 200% on very little volume...this sucker do run fast...
