Long time since visiting here. I see that the blabbering moderator even gave it up. Can anyone guess why we had a moderator in mata hari who kept talking about evil trading and why people should hold on to their shares? Sadly I must laugh. Moro should be hung high for what he has done with people's money. Wish it was Ben Stein's money instead of mine.
Gold Seeker, best wishes for a speedy recovery.
"How did you fare with Bocx and Insight vision? You were pushing both of these and even pinging other boards for people to follow you and your theories. Remember the extensive research thing?"
That is an interesting question Half is posing to GS. It is even more interesting because it would appear that the moderator who preceded Mata used to post on the Insight message board.
Is it just me that stops and wonders why the coincidence?
Gold Seeker, you seemed to be pretty tight with Kag and he mysteriously no longer posts here. Could you tell us which "person" he is posting as today? People like him and you who seem determined to not own a stock but provide a great service to mankind by blasting the company and warning people to stay away - those people don't just disappear. Kag is among us, you know how well, so what name is he posting under? Thanks, knew we could count on you.
mr. mata, are you implying that Dew Diligence is behind some of the razzle dazzle going on with shorting entity?
Why is it that you only post about the same manipulation over and over again and don't comment on other things relative to Biocurex? I am only asking because I enjoy your posts and wish you would chirp up more.
Also don't understand why you are limited by number of posts and yet the Seeker seems to clog bandwidth with a smattering of posts every hour, every day, like clockwork. Thanks
Now is a good time to see if anyone can guess what Kag's new handle is on this message board. There is no way that the Lone Ranger is posting here and Tonto has left the reservation.
dick, isn't Navellier the outfit that issued a buy rating a year ago and then shortly after issued a sell which added to our woes? If so, I'm not sure about their credibility and how committed they really are in moving in and out of stocks. The more they turnover, the more suspect I am that they pump and dump.
I can't remember the last time I bothered to post on this board. It has gone to the dogs and is being dominated by a Gold Seeker and a Kag.
I echo TheBOCX's request that there be no moderator. I get tired that every time I come here I try to read a few posts which are in reply to "deleted post".
Kag, it's time you stepped down, especially if you have no confidence in this stock. It would be easier to have this board operate without a moderator. At the least it would free up some of your time if you aren't invested and buying into the Biocurex story. I'm just being honest and not intending to side with any side here but it makes no sense having you moderate as you have a strong bias as far as I can tell.
Good luck to all
Looks like SLP wants to make a continued move. The technicals were screaming right around May 27 or 28, so the big move today is not surprising. But at the same time, I don't know what event caused such a move on such high volume. Guesses anyone? I assume that the new business development hire from last month was done for a reason.
Kag, I'm sorry but that is not a justified response. Too much control of the posting on this board. I bid you farewell and good luck. You guys need to loosen up. In the most trivial way, if I can not have better faith in your judgment in deleting posts which should not be remotely considered for deletion, then I can't trust much else here. I'm not into conspiracies, I just don't agree how you are running this board and I am going to have to refrain from posting.
Good luck all, I bid you farewell. You are not going to miss my posts as I don't contribute much anyway.
Kag, my post was no more off topic than my previous post that you just responded to. If I recall correctly, I made mention of what happens if BOCX does not make such amendment to the 8K, in light of your mention of this being the last day.
So how exactly is that "off topic"?
this board is so nuts anymore that the only thing I find remotely uplifting is when someone says "I have used up my maximum number of posts for the day and this will be my last one".
I mean "really". Some of you need to take a flight out of here and circle planet Earth for a few weeks and get in touch with the right side of your brain. Good luck with your orbital path.
why thank you kag... and I don't believe you or anyone has an ulterior motive around here. I think we just have some frustrated people, all whom appear to be holding long shares.
We just all need to chill and stop jumping down people's throats. Nothing gained by having people of different viewpoints packing it up and leaving this board. I would rather they stay.
For every stock... EVERY STOCK... there is an upside and a downside. Anyone not looking at both, is very myopic and needs a telescope. Probably need a microscope as well. To that end, you need all sorts of scopes and viewpoints.
Good luck people... go BOCX... let's get this thing turned around!
Kag, deleting that post you mentioned... is what the problem is around here. Just leave the damn post. Pretty soon we won't even have a forum around here. I just read it and don't see anything egregious about the post.
And I am not saying that I agree or disagree with it either. But we need to loosen up a bit. iHub is not scoring any points around here, IMO. I would just stop deleting posts and let things settle down. FWIW
actually, a disc jockey gave Mel the nickname "The Velvet Fog" back in 1946.
You guys talking about Velvet Fog... I assume you are talking about the ghost of Mel Torme, but I can't be certain.
As to why Dr. Moro didn't say what he said months earlier, I doubt that his intent was to allow someone like Smithline or whoever to make off with Gold Seeker's money in walking this down and causing people to capitulate and sell.
I agree that comments should have been made long before today and if I would have sold yesterday or last week, I'd be pissed off.
GS, I assume you take this news as a "relief" to the positive side then?
"The derailing of the GE purchase of Abbott Diagnostics and more importantly, the advent of an economic recession of this proportion was obviously not predictable. These facts, together with the very positive development of ELISA-RECAF tests that can be done in any clinical lab anywhere in the world; has changed our strategy: We are now devoting practically all of our resources to commercializing the RECAF blood tests as described below."
Now that is interesting... curious what you readers are thinking about this.
Abbott still has license
Dr. Moro answers the questions! Here it is from Agoracom:
The following are questions that have been posted to this discussion forum and have been answered by Dr. Moro. They have not been edited by AGORACOM. Initially we had stated that we would respond to your questions within two weeks. That statement was made because at that time we did not know the volume of questions that we would receive. Obviously, we will certainly try to get answers to your questions as soon as possible. We regret any inconvenience or frustration that statement may have caused.
1. BioCurex has received numerous questions from shareholders regarding Abbott’s license status.
The amendment of the agreement was duly signed shortly after it was announced. An oversight resulted in the text of the 8K stating that the agreement was ‘in principle’ and not that it was made ‘effective’. For further clarity, Abbott has not issued a notice of cancellation of the licensing agreement, has not issued any notice of return, and it continues to be a licensee within the amended terms as described in the 8K form of March 20th 2008
.
2. The reasons for the July 2007 Financing
The main reason for raising $3M in one shot, was the decision to move on to develop therapeutic applications based on RECAF. This decision was based on the following points:
(a) Abbott Diagnostics was being acquired by General Electric (our licensing agreement was transferred to them). Abbott’s was moving forward, with positive results – as later shown in the presentation at the ISOBM congress in September - and it was expected that GE would be continue and accelerate bringing the product to market. This would relieve BioCurex of a great deal of effort to help develop the chemoluminescence assay required for Abbott’s automated instrument.
(b) The way the collaboration with Abbott was advancing, we thought – correctly - that we would be able to sign other semi-exclusive licensees in a short time, as happened to be the case with Inverness, another giant in the industry.
(c) We had very preliminary yet very exciting results indicating that we can destroy cancer cells exhibiting RECAF on their surface without damaging healthy cells, which do not have RECAF. It is impossible to tackle that kind of project with the fund reserves we had before we secured the $3M from Centercourt.
The derailing of the GE purchase of Abbott Diagnostics and more importantly, the advent of an economic recession of this proportion was obviously not predictable. These facts, together with the very positive development of ELISA-RECAF tests that can be done in any clinical lab anywhere in the world; has changed our strategy: We are now devoting practically all of our resources to commercializing the RECAF blood tests as described below. Once we feel comfortable, we’ll go back to our work on the therapeutic side.
3. When will we see commercialization in RECAF and where? US or outside the US?
Here is what we are doing:
a) We are researching the 510K approval of another company’s product called DR70 by the US FDA. Everyone we contacted in the industry is surprised at this approval because of the loose use of the term “equivalence”. The applicants used CEA as an equivalent for another marker, which is something very unusual. In any case, this creates a precedent that could be useful for BioCurex.
b) In addition, the RECAF tests can be sold “for research purposes only”, with no FDA approval required and they can also be carried out, without FDA approval, as a ‘home brew test’ by accredited laboratories in the USA. We are exploring these possibilities; but we do not have any concrete information to provide at this time. Also, our licensees have the appropriate staff, network and procedures to accomplish it efficiently.
We are cruising in turbulent waters; Ford has announced its worst quarter in history and GM shares have lost 2/3 of their value in the last 6 months. The Dow has fallen from 14,000 points in October to less than 11,000 this month. We are not immune to this process. We have once come out of worse conditions than this situation. We did not panic, nor did we despair; we had no time for that. AND, we did not ask the Federal Reserve to bail us out! We have amazing technology and the ability to accomplish our mission of reducing human suffering. Patience and persistence is the key. We’ll just have to weather this storm.
Ricardo Moro.
congrats to Dog and others who added at these low prices yesterday.
so those 42 shares, worth less than $9, is enough to keep your interest in posting on the message board? GS, you truly crack me up. Hope you find reason to pay the transaction fee in the other direction... as in BUYING some BOCX stock. Good luck.
GS, if you have indeed sold all of your shares, I am in suspense as to why you continue to post here? Not being smart alec, just curious why you continue to post. You are either wrong or right and that remains to be proven one way or another. Good luck in your future investments, either way.
I still own shares, to whomever asked. I don't have "private reply" privileges on iHub, not a subscriber.
I just read that other site and erthang said he had been banished (iHub) by Kag. Is that true?
One thing is for sure... either Dr. Moro is lying or he is telling the truth. I'm frankly surprised to see some of the once-thought of faithful here... to quickly bolt on the good doctor.
My my, how things change. So the Dr. is a Jeckyl? Or is he Hyde? Or are some people jumping to conclusions about the truth meter swinging against Dr. Moro? Interesting.
I never saw that presser being the least bit positive, and so many people surprisingly here thought it was great news that Moro had something better up his sleeve than messing with Abbott. How wrong we were, even though my gut said "this don't smell right".
And that is why I never added more shares on the drop. I don't trust that BOCX's mom and pop enough to give them more of my money.
Dick, I hope to post at a later date that you were "right" as to what appears to be misplaced confidence in SLP's potential PPS, which looks far from being unleashed. I know you are not happy, but in my case, it has decimated my portfolio. And I see many avoidable mistakes, which gives me gastric reflux.
I'll be back to surface when my fears are found to be wrong... but for now, they are not unfounded. I haven't sold a share on the way down. Ouch.
things don't look so great after hearing about the ARS issue. When will the dike get plugged? The rains continue. SLP is carrying on like keystone cops, with my money on the line.
this stock blows chunks... that much is for sure. And it has the feel of a mom-and-pop shop. Just can't figure out who the mom is in this one. I think Pop Moro is all we have.
zolax, I would agree with you that averaging down is not something I would recommend. Might as well be boozing it up at a riverboat casino. Averaging down is a huge gamble which often does not pay off, quite the opposite. I'm not buying down here. Need to see some news, catalyst, assurance.
zolax, make no mistake, I'm not questioning your intelligence. I am questioning your intent and whether you lack some moral fiber. And that is because you hang out here, don't own the stock, and just try to kick people in the teeth as the stock goes lower. Now that takes a mighty big person to do that, don't cha think?
You may be a Rhodes scholar for all I know. I don't like your style.
opp, how can you be blocking anyone, including zolax? You are the moderator, so you have to be wearing your badge and be standing at the ready... shooting any drunk that walks in the saloon and does unspeakable acts! Not sure how drunk zolax is, but if and when I read his posts, it's purely for entertainment purposes and nothing more.
I think it was a large position getting in and out!
For a second, I thought I logged on to the wrong board. That read sorta weird. Never mind.
Jeepers.
I am confused... if GS has resigned as moderator, then who is doing the moderating at this point? Do we have a food fight going on here during the lunch hour? I'm not even sure what side to take, or should I just duck under the food table?
People... try to remain calm and let the emotions settle down. Take a deep breath. Inhale. Exhale. Chill.
OT: an article which flashed on my "biomarker" key word search...
Personalized Therapy For Brain Tumors Advanced By Major Grant
26 Jun 2008
Researchers at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center will advance two new therapeutic approaches for malignant brain tumors and develop biomarkers to guide treatment decisions under a major translational research grant from the National Cancer Institute.
The Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) grant for brain tumor research is the 11th such grant received by M. D. Anderson under the NCI's program, which is designed to move basic science findings into early stage clinical trials.
M. D. Anderson already holds SPORE grants in leukemia and melanoma as well as cancers of the breast, bladder, pancreas, ovaries, uterus, head and neck, prostate and lung, with the last shared with The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. The 11 grants out of 60-plus SPOREs awarded by the NCI are the most held by a single institution.
"This award marks a very significant event for M. D. Anderson and indicates the important role that the institution plays in the field of translational research," said Raymond DuBois, M.D., Ph.D, M. D. Anderson provost and executive vice president. "We are essentially leading the way in developing multidisciplinary research teams to accelerate the transition of basic knowledge into the clinic. I am extremely proud of our neuro-oncology team and all of the people involved who will use this brain tumor SPORE to ultimately make a difference for patients."
The five-year, $12.5 million brain tumor SPORE builds on existing institutional expertise in multiple departments, said W. K. Alfred Yung, M.D., chair of M. D. Anderson's Department of Neuro-Oncology and co-principal investigator of the brain tumor SPORE with Oliver Bogler, Ph.D., associate professor in M. D. Anderson's Department of Neurosurgery.
"All four of the projects funded by this grant apply molecular and genetic approaches to develop new targeted therapies and biomarkers that will improve treatment by personalizing therapy," Yung said.
The NCI estimates that 21,810 new cases of brain or central nervous system tumors will be diagnosed in 2008, and about 13,000 people will die from brain malignancies. Tumors range in severity from benign to the highly malignant glioblastoma multiforme, which will be the focus of M. D. Anderson's SPORE.
Project 1: Deploying a tumor-killing virus
The engineered adenovirus Delta-24-RGD, developed at M. D. Anderson, will advance to clinical trial and a second-generation version will be developed as a single therapy and in combination with other drugs. Delta-24 will be injected directly into tumors during a phase I clinical trial that is under review at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The virus is genetically altered to prevent it from entering normal cells but attacks glioblastoma cells, which lack a specific anti-viral protein. Principal investigators are Juan Fueyo, M.D., associate professor of neuro-oncology, and Frederick Lang, M.D., professor of neurosurgery.
Project 2: Blocking a malignant pathway
Drugs that block a molecular signaling cascade known to fuel brain tumors - the PI3K pathway - will be developed and tested in phase I trials. Both individual targeted molecules and rational drug combinations will be studied for their potential to inhibit PI3K. One candidate inhibitor has been developed by Garth Powis, Ph.D., professor and chair of M. D. Anderson's Department of Experimental Therapeutics, who is co-PI with Yung and Bogler on the project.
Project 3: Identifying treatment guideposts
Researchers are developing and validating a set of genes that predict survival and sensitivity to treatment for glioblastoma patients. This biomarker approach to sorting out personalized treatment is being conducted in collaboration with existing clinical trials testing a variety of therapies and combinations for glioblastoma. Co-principal investigators are Kenneth Aldape, M.D., professor in the Department of Pathology, and Howard Colman, M.D., Ph.D., assistant professor of neuro-oncology.
Project 4: Pinpointing genetic role in brain impairment
By analyzing the genetic makeup of glioblastoma patients and relating it to the type and degree of cognitive impairment they experience after radiation treatment, researchers aim to identify and understand genes that affect cognitive outcomes. Co-principal investigators are Melissa Bondy, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Epidemiology, and Christina Meyers, Ph.D., professor of neuro-oncology.
The four research projects are supported by five cores: administrative (Yung and Bogler); pathology (Aldape and colleague Craig Fuller, M.D., Ph.D., professor of pathology); clinical (Mark Gilbert, M.D. professor of neuro-oncology); biostatistics (Kenneth Hess, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Biostatistics); and animal models (Charles Conrad, M.D., associate professor of neuro-oncology).

The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston ranks as one of the world's most respected centers focused on cancer patient care, research, education and prevention. M. D. Anderson is one of only 39 Comprehensive Cancer Centers designated by the National Cancer Institute. For five of the past eight years, M. D. Anderson has ranked No. 1 in cancer care in "America's Best Hospitals," a survey published annually in U.S. News and World Report.

how do you sell BOCX short? Is it even possible to do that as a small retail guy? I have never known anyone to short an OB stock priced at 50 cents.
erthang, vibes and diligence are two totally different matters. I remarked that the sentiment shared of late on this board, including the moderators, is not exactly preferred. That is a perception statement I am making... has nothing to do with your diligence or mine. You veered off the road somewhere in reading my post.
I shared an "observation". Do you disagree? I didn't say I was swayed one way or another. I also share an observation that your reply seemed to be have a hint of desperation. My investments are doing fine, not that you had to ask.
Let's keep the conversation objective and a bit less personal, shall we?
Now those are some sobering posts we have seen from our co-moderators of late. I would say their obvious tone, one of concern, means we are in trouble. I appreciate their honesty for sure... I'm just saying it's bad when moderators can't get fired up about the stock of focus.
I'm getting bad vibes here.
understood, dog, no FDA in those parts of the world. And none of care one way or another as long as it spurs some cures, helps people, and offers rev's for BOCX to thrive. Rubles will pay the bills just as well as American currency in my book!
sounds like that in fact is what happened. Maybe SLT will respond anyway. SLP.... (sigh)...
