I think it should be five cents. I bid five cents per share FOR 1,000 SHARES!!!
Starting to see more activity on Reddit due to the massively large short interest with BIG. A short squeeze could get out of hand quickly there, would hate for some of these short hedge funds to be next Melvin Capital.
These are starting to show up in stores. The value is tremendous, look what the came items are selling for on Amazon or Ebay. I would not be surprised if retail arbitrage buyers also go and clean BIG out of this inventory and patiently resell it themselves

Placed my bets at the new price target of $1 US dollar per share.
Giddy up
What is wrong with Big Lots management ?
How about a good house cleaning !

Yes on inventory.. I have seen the overstock. Check out Bailey's in North Judson some time.
Bad idea to store in stores because of dust pests etc.. They are in plastic at least. Also many stores in old bad locations strip malls that nobody thinks are fancy enough. WMT has far WORSE Ikea garbage furniture though.
Maybe if BIG gets some Swedish hot chicks and sells cinnamon buns and hot food it could help?
....BIG went BIG (ahem!!) on the bedding.......(almost exclusively at the on-line stores)................which to me is a huge business mistake......I know BIG just drop ships the mattresses and related........and I heard some BIG stores have bedding inventory...........takes up too much space, low margin and low volume and tons of competition.............we'll see................
....my plan would be a take-over with a pre-packaged..........BK.............shut down, like 400 stores, of the 1,100 currently open..............lever down as many store lease terms as possible...........I think the bond-holders would partner up with a re-structure partner.................
............my plan would only bring about $50-$75mm to the table.............I think some hedge funds might pony up a couple of millies..........given the cash flow.......
....but, as time marches on..................the value of BIG is dropping................down................
I hate to agree.. Miracles happen.. idk about here though. The best stores are in central and southern states. As far as the canned stuff and railroad stuff (fact of old) that is a loss, yes.. They are Furniture and seasonal sales driven. If everybody bought mattresses from $BIG.. Would change the game for them.
.....I've been in the BIG LOTS in N. Fort Meyers........and one in Illinois...........the actual stores are wonderful, at least for the low-end bargain hunter........just a step up from railroad salvage, but cooler.............THE BIG LOTS WEB-SITE and on-line store is horrible............the merchandise is all canned, over-priced crap.......
....question is how is BIG doing financially.........????...........horrible, imo.........SLOW DEATH..............$2-billion in total debt with interest rates rising......too many stores that are losing money..........
....VISIT THE STORES.............but stay the F/--- away from the stock.....$3.71 per share and gonna be wiped out on a re-structure, which has to go thru BK.....
.....so glad I didn't load up on this stock at $25 per.............and then at $12-14 a year ago...................
I bought, 2 years ago, these crazy work light/battery bank/bleutooth speakers for 15 each on clearance. They have the best stuff.. I looked at a chart today and wanted to choke! I love the stores... No more slow deaths like kmart/sears.. Everything just insta-dies these days..
During covid $BIG was the ONLY place left rationing TP and Paper Towels with any consistency.
How easily we forget out friends..
Also prices on those are still the same.
$BIG ~~ Black Friday Preview: Big Lots Delivering Holiday's Hottest Bargains in November, Including 50% Off Toys
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/black-friday-preview-big-lots-140000722.html
....sorry, BIGTIME BOB, not feeling BIG, at present......I drafted up a few put option straddles, but did not pull the trigger...................BIG is dying....................slow death.............and my GUT says stay away..........$2.1-billion in debt and losing $250mm a year............= BK..............and no juice for shareholders..............................
....not looking for more, money-losing, stressful problems, BIG................I like the BIG LOTS stores, though............N. Fort Meyers...................I bought a bunch of $5 swiss army knives, for example.....the $50 model..........which make great gifts...............store is loaded with stuff like that............but stay away from the stock........................DEAD MONEY, BIG....................i/m/o.................
OH FRED
Guess you're now regretting not getting in @ 4-5, just 24 trade days ago
Oh well can't win em all can ya, I guess there are TOO MANY WOUNDED ZEBRAS to play em all right
....I played Pier 1 years back.......and rode it up........bigtime WIN...........and then a year or so later, I got back in as it was sliding and rode it down........
....BIG is doing what Pier 1 did, and Sears, and K-MART, and JCP..............springs a small leak......that gets bigger and the gushing starts........death spiral that won't stop until a BK stops it and the shareholders with BIG are 100% GONE.......given $2.1-billion in debt and a market cap of $275mm.......................
......also, there are some SUPER SMART, smaller hedge funds that are STALKING BIG.........the company will survive, long-term, but probably SCALED DOWN.................like cut the store count in half, or dump the unprofitable stores, or the ones with bad leases....................VIA A BK..................
....my temptation was that of Eddie Lampert and SEARS (and Kmart).............get control............suck out cash...........parcel out the good assets and wear down the landlords in the bad stores...................BIG COULD GO DOWN....................too much debt that ain't going away......getting much more expensive as interest rates spike up....................
....I have been "circling" BIG since early 2016........very hard to figure out and I am PRAISE THE LORD happy I never bought in big, or bought options........
.....$40 per, to me was a steal.....less than a year ago......and the idea was the company would be taken over by an aggressive hedge fund.......????....................
.....touching $5 is UNTHINKABLE.......and the Blue Owl lease-back is a beginning of a collapse, imo........study the financials......NEGATIVE CASH FLOW FROM OPERATIONS.............and $2.1-BILLION in total debt......................29-million shares outstanding, even at $10 per = $290mm cap value........not good......
......I'm watching BIG, but not getting my clean money near this CORPSE....(I love the stores, though.....great tools and incidentals, dirt cheap)...........
MY WAG says 10 by weeks end

My latest trip to Big Lots ended with me leaving without a purchase. I needed bleach. They didn't have it. I wanted to buy rechargeable batteries. No luck there. I thought I might buy potato chips or some type of salty snack. Their prices were outrageous. They do seem to have a ton of cheaply made furniture. Not a good sign for shareholders.

Is Big Lots going the same way as Sears? The selection of products is terrible. The service is awful and the prices are no bargain. I used to shop at Big Lots weekly. Now it is like once every three months and I usually buy nothing. Their hard lines have dwindled to nothing. Tools are limited. Automotive products are few. Pet food is limited. They no longer sell copy paper, dental products are a joke and check out takes forever. What happened here?

This announced on 31 August 2018, i.e. 2 weeks ago:
Despite a small Earnings miss vs. consensus:
CFRA KEEPS BUY OPINION ON BIG LOTS, INC. SHARES
10:44 am ET August 31, 2018
We are adjusting our target by $1 to $49, applying a peer average P/E multiple of 10.9X, which is below BIG's three-year historic average of 13.0X. Shares are down significantly today on a Jul-Q 11.9% earning miss of $0.59 compared to $0.67 consensus estimate. Almost all of the earnings shortfall came from rising transportation costs that rose $6M in Jul-Q, nearly double the pace in Apr-Q. With rising operating costs, we are lowering our EPS estimates in FY 19 (Jan.) by $0.05 to $4.50 and FY 20's by $0.10 to $4.85 a share. We see FY 19 same-store sales up 2%, in line with Jul-Q's results. BIG increased its inventory to position it for autumn sales for harvest and Halloween, while its furnishing department has added a new assortment of fireplaces. Both furniture and soft home (flooring, home decor, bath and window) sales were up 5%. During Jul-Q, BIG opened 4 stores and closed 4, leaving it with 1,415 stores. It bought back $100M, or 2.4M shares.
1.20 in 1990.. Looking back.. Any lower and this will be breaking down some more.
