Yesterday was my best day yet. A lot of it had to do with a new reference that I am watching while I trade CL. Also, I never had more than two contracts in a trade at one time and never averaged my position.

I switched to trading FAS today in the event that I start trading with a prop firm. I caught the big moves in FAS first thing in the morning, but then FAS got me "off blance" later as I am used to how CL moves so I gave back my profit trying to give FAS a chance to move. I just need to get accustomed again to how FAS moves. I haven't traded it for a long time.

Today was a good reminder to not let the news of the day bias your trading. Trade what is happening on the chart. We individual traders will never have full access to the news and other information that those with the money and power have.

I was out of town visiting family, but I did not want to post that publicly before or while I was gone.

I did not get any practice trading accomplished on Monday as I was still finishing the process of reconfiguring my computer and getting everything ready.
As I was still working with my backups Monday morning, I didn't start practice trading until the last hour and a half of the regular CL trading hours, but it went quite well.

Because of rebuilding my computer beginning on Thursday and continuing for a few days (as I mentioned yesterday), I did not do any practice trading on Thursday or Friday of last week.
I have been away for several days as I continued to have some instability in my main computer last week. I have rebuilt it using a different motherboard and also took some time to investigate some different setups and have decided to configure my RAID array differently this time around, and I am glad that I did. Also, it takes a lot of time to move around as much data as I have and to make several copies of it.
Now, back to to trading...

I just realized that I hadn't posted summary results for last week.
Here are some notes:
- The software shows total number of trades as 82. I count this as no more than 42 trades as I place an order for 2 contracts at a time and manage those 2 contracts as a single trade (or 4 contracts as a single trade when I occasionally average up or down).
- I did not trade last Tuesday or Friday for the reasons I posted already. So these are the results of 3 days of trading.

I really frustrated myself at the end of the day. I did a trade to catch a bounce, but it went down further. Based on volume, I averaged down with another 2 contracts. The price came back up in my favor, and instead of taking another $500-$800 or so profit, I decided to give it a chance to develop. Well, I ended up taking a significant loss and gave back a lot of my profit. I was up $1,700+ at the time. However, I still ended with a good profit so I will be happy with that and continue to learn.
