ABC.to is on a slow and steady climb. One of the largest producers of starch in China... feeding the many hungry citizens.
Could well, tons of volume this week. Looks like it is headed up. I added today and will add more on the next dip.
Maybe we'll finally hit those $2.25-$2.50 research report targets. Volume and strength of the stock past week have been great.
ABC coming back to life, also uplisted to TSE. Volume pretty high these past 2 days.

ABC Was able to pick up another 2000 shares at $1.20! Wow... cheap cheap shares being given away.
Indeed, I've got an order in for $1.20 right now.
True, there is that problem. I've found myself having to call in, and it really isn't worth it unless for something you are seeking to hold onto for quite awhile.
The pinks are not so bad, but the grey sheet ones have no bid/ask and no time or price precedence. Trading is totally blind. So you could put a sell which would correspond to the the Venture exchange bid in and it might sell on 1 minute, 1 hour, 1 day or never, even below the bid it could just sit and sit. Unless there is lots of trading in the issue it is really crappy, whereas with the venture exchange, click, done.
Good to know. I can buy the Canadian directly with IB, but, with Fidelity I have to buy via the US pink.
Was your mishap with multiple trades or just one? My experience with Fidelity has worked well. The conversion issue is what I've found to be tricky.
Fortunately, the Canadian exchange rate is close. Where I see huge problems is when trading something like Mesoblast Ltd SP Adr (asx:MSB; usotc:MBLTY) which is a great Australian company, but, on pink sheet grey. The conversion rate differences are insane.
MBLTY is at 9.779 as of last close. AU:MSB was 2.12 as of last close according to bigcharts. The difference in currency rate can cause a few mistakes.
And, AU:MSB is an entirely different stock on stockcharts. Confusion and mistakes can easily happen.
US grey is evil. But, foreign stocks on US pink being grey doesn't bother me. It's grey because they aren't reporting in the US.
don't your trades end up getting directed to the TSX anyway?
No, they are on the pinks. Anyone who has the ability to buy the Canadian listing instead of the pink should always by the TSX listing, especially if it is a grey sheet. I have learned that lesson.
grey sheet = EVIL
I assumed that a MM would play the arbitrage between the pink/Venture but it does not seem to be the case.
I have no idea how they work actually...

An article ofinterest for TVI
Thanks for that. And, yes, the US tickers for these foreign ones usually always trade thinly, but, don't your trades end up getting directed to the TSX anyway? It seems as though that is what happened when I traded them in the past, but, I never took large positions because of fear of not being able to get out because of that concern.
I believe the US ticker for TVI.TO is TVIPF.PK
The US ticker trades very thinly though.

Risicare gave this information in an earlier post.
What is the US otc ticker that we can trade with? Most Canadian stocks have one.
Edit to add: I find them as ca:tvi on bigcharts and tvi.to on stockcharts. I'll just look for them on my trading platform tomorrow.

TVI Pacific- I just bought a starter position.
TVI.to
Current SP $0.12, earned $0.035EPS in FY2009!! Producer of copper with costs of aobut $.6 to .7 per pound of copper, they also get the gold out of it too. Very undervalued; mines in Philippines, 3 million tonnes reserve.
More mines being drilled... HUGE margins due to cost of production; Appoximately 465M shares, FD i think about 500M.
The IR is impressive; just look at Facebook and their IR will answer your q's!

While RH.V has had an impressive move since I first mentioned it here, there is still a lot of upside potential,IMO. The company is now merging with another junior with superior management qualifications. The merger partner, PCY.V, recently brought former Goldcorp head, Rob McEwen, on their advisory board and today announced plans to start coal production in Mongolia this year. Basis of the merger with PCY is 1 RH = .92 PCY. With PCY.V now trading at 78 cents, this implies RH.V should be at 72 cents, rather than the 55 cents it is trading at. The merger has been approved by shareholders and only need court and exchange approvals(normally a formality expected sometime next month). I added to my RH position today.
good question
$20 - $30? What kind of time frame?
ABC I had the opportunity to talk with the CEO several times at the Rodman conference in Beijing. He's a nice man and seems to know what he's talking about, and he says his goal for the stock is 20-30 bucks a share.

Thanks for pointing that info out for us. ;)
RH.V A good quality thermal coal play in Mongolia. Hugh tonnage potential in several prospects - the company is actively seeking partners to help develop same which could act as a catalyst to get the stk some recognition. There are a couple of posters on stockhouse.com that like the potential here - worth a look IMO.
Risicare...another interesting link to note is for Canadian Insider. The following link shows insider buying for BOY, however, you can plunk in any ticker you so desire. ;)

It appears they are all in the list. But, I didn't know the US symbols. Thank you. ;)
"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."
Here are some more, wth US symbols.
GLG.TO or GLGL (NASDAQ) - almost a monopoly on stevia, a natural sweetener
KMK.V or KMKCF.PK - mining - copper/gold
GMN.V or GMNFF.PK - mining - metals - trading under cash
JIN.TO or JINFF.PK - mining - gold - 41% owned by largest gold co. in China
ABC.V or ABCXF.PK - glucose - just tripled capacity
HF.TO or HFGVF.PK - fertilizer - 20% owned by Agrium
MCG.V - developing ski resorts in China
MGO.TO or MIGGF.PK - fertilizer
ABC Breaking out on the charts on heavy volume. This is a low PE stk with good growth prospects and I suspect the upside momentum is just getting started.
Thanks for the link. I hadn't seen that. I put it in the ibox along with a couple of snaps.
The reason I asked is the numbers you gave are different from the numbers given here:
Company financial reports from their website:

And, the numbers from the presentation are a little different from what you gave:
I like this little chart and grabbed a snap of it too:
Have a great day, and thanks again for the info. ;)

Would you mind showing me where you are getting your numbers? A link would be great. TIA

BOY I like their business, China has lots to grow as Chinese rural areas have almost no infrastructure still. Cities are transforming at an incredible rate, and I don't think it's going to be slowing down soon.
They estimate $0.38 for FY09 and $0.48 for FY10, which is great: 9 P/E FY09 and F P/E of 7. The problem I see is a huge number of preferred shares convertible 1:1, and warrants.
Current oustanding shares is about 20million. Preferreds at 11 million and warrants at 3.5million, if these are all exercised the amount of damage done to EPS would be huge.
Have not purchased any shares... but may change my mind =)
ABC I posted this somewhere else as well, but the responses there arn't usually too great =)
For those that want to do some DD, presentation dated Nov 09 found at: http://asiabiochem.com/index.php/presentation
Consensus EPS is 0.31 for 2010, use a P/E ratio of 10 and we have $3.10. They just opened a facility to increase production by 300%. I think we will see at least $3.00 by the end of the year...
Trading at a F P/E of only 4.2, a true bargain. Doesn't seem like the stock has a lot of following yet, there are price targets of about $1.75 to $2.00 from various
They are also looking to grow their company with acquisitions after they expand their production to capacity.
We also traded 1.5 million shares today, the most since November 20th, looking for some good news to come?
Bought in a few days ago at $1.20 and added some more at $1.30.
Comments?
I know someone is bound to ask so I will beat them to it.
