I hope you have a great weekend too. I didnt think this board would attract as many people as it has so far. Glad to see theres fellow VW/Audi drivers out there who enjoy their cars as much as I do
I'll try to visit with you "volks" when I have a wee bit more time. I have one of those rarer VWs....a silver 2002 Passat W8 wagon with 23 K miles on it and not a single tiny scratch on it. Since the total production run for both the W8 Passat sedans and wagons was only 2500 units ( world wide ), to the best of my knowledge, less than 100 wagons were exported to the U.S., so I'm sort of keeping it as a collector item. There is nothing more fun than a little silver haired old guy in a little unassuming silver VW station wagon blowing the doors off a bunch of more exotic hardware on the road.
Y'all have a great weekend.
Nice, I love my VW. I fill my gas tank up every two weeks so I'm extremely happy with the gas mileage.
It's a 2002 and I have no intentions of trading it in any time soon. Hubby's been thru 3 cars already (he gets bored easily and buys Japanese vehicles). He wants me to get a BMW or something more expensive and I have absolutely no desire to. When this one dies, I'll get a newer model but another VW.
Your daddy's a smart man, I see where you get your smarts from ;)
There aren't too many of those VW diesels out there but they are great cars. They have excellent gas mileage and the engines run forever. My dad is on his 4th & 5th VW diesel right now. The fist 3 all had well in excess of 100K miles and one I believe had 225K miles on it before he got rid of it (no overhaul). He got rid of one of the cars because it got totaled. I had one VW diesel and two of my sisters have/had 3 in total. The only thing to be careful about is that the diesel fuel can gel in cold weather so you need to add in some anti-gel when the temperature gets around 20 degrees or so. If it is garage kept you can probably go a bit lower. The newer cars might even be a bit better in that regard.
The only VW I currently own is a 1993 Corrado which I purchased new. It is a really fun car. That VR6 in such a small car really gives it some punch! I only use it for short errands at this point because I can't bring the whole family and it isn't outfitted with carseats for the kids. I guess that is what happens to the sports car after you get married.
Mike
Thanks Manny! I will :)
its a huge vw forum, you may want to check it out sometime
No, I've never heard of that.
Is it like a vw club?
looks good, and its a 5 speed. Thats awesome, nothing like a manual transmission. I dont think I'll ever buy another automatic car in my life. Are you a member of vwvortex?
yeah i had to special order it because they didn't have any available black on black.
it's also a 5 sp diesel
looks good, leather and all huh? I'm guessing its a vr6
Nice!
Here's my baby:
Feel free to discuss about VW/Audi's. Also feel free to post pictures of your car/cars.
Just something to keep us entertained while the markets are closed :)
