(Pink Sheets:TPAZ) is one of the leading producers and distributors of precious and semi-precious stones, as well as finished jewelry, with over 3,000 employees. Annually, Topaz produces in excess of 35 million carats of loose stones, and over 1.7 million pieces of gold and silver jewelry. The company maintains control over the entire gem production process from mining, designing, cutting and polishing stones to marketing and distributing finished product to department stores, wholesalers and retailer outlets. In addition, the company is currently developing a network of web sites with the goal of expanding distribution of its product to both wholesale and retail customers. Topaz's primary markets include the United States, Germany, France, England and Japan. Over 80% of the company's product is exported to North America. The company has offices in Thailand, Canada, Brazil and the United States. Potential (Opinion) TPAZ is currently in the process of having the past several years of financials audited with the intention of filing a Form 10 in hopes of becoming fully reporting and getting back onto the OTC. If they are able to do that, the next move would be to a larger exchange, like the AMEX. If they can become fully reporting, and stay profitable, then TPAZ has the potential to trade at a much higher level. Based on industry P/E ratios and Book Value, TPAZ could be trading as high as $5.00-$15.00 by the end of 2001.
