- Schwacher Markt und regulatorische Unsicherheiten belasten erstes Quartal
- Umsatz von 125,1 Mio. Euro und Produktion von 313 Megawattpeak im ersten Quartal
- Operatives Ergebnis (EBIT) von -10,6 Mio. Euro im ersten Quartal unter Vorjahreszeitraum (-9,3 Mio. Euro)
Bitterfeld-Wolfen, 11. Mai 2011 - Die Q-Cells SE (QCE; WKN 555866) verzeichnete aufgrund der schwachen Marktnachfrage im ersten Quartal 2011 einen deutlichen Umsatzrückgang gegenüber dem Vorjahreszeitraum. Der Umsatz lag mit 125,1 Mio. Euro rund 46 Prozent unter dem Wert des ersten Quartals 2010 (232,3 Mio. Euro), der jedoch Umsätze aus dem Verkauf des Großprojektes Strasskirchen (72,5 Mio. Euro) sowie der Ende 2010 verkauften Stromhandelsgesellschaft QCCS (19,8 Mio. Euro) enthielt. Auf das Produktgeschäft entfielen im ersten Quartal 2011 98,7 Mio. Euro Umsatz. Die saisonale Schwäche des ersten Quartals wurde durch regulatorische Unsicherheiten in den wichtigen Solarmärkten Frankreich und Italien noch weiter verstärkt.
Fallende Absatzpreise im ersten Quartal sowie weiterhin hohe Preise für Solarwafer und Silber haben neben der schwachen Nachfragesituation einen entsprechend negativen Einfluss auf die Ergebnissituation des Unternehmens gehabt. Das Ergebnis vor Zinsen, Steuern und Abschreibungen (EBITDA) betrug 15,3 Mio. Euro und lag damit leicht unter dem Vorjahreswert von 18,8 Mio. Euro. Auch das operative Ergebnis (EBIT) für das erste Quartal 2011 lag mit -10,6 Mio. Euro leicht unterhalb des Vorjahresquartals (-9,3 Mio. Euro). Das Periodenergebnis für das erste Quartal betrug -41,1 Mio. Euro (Q1 2010: -46,4 Mio. Euro).
Die Produktion von Solarzellen und Dünnschichtmodulen betrug im ersten Quartal 2011 insgesamt 313 MWp. Von den 284 MWp Solarzellen wurden 163 MWp im Q-Cells Werk in Malaysia gefertigt. Die Produktion von Dünnschichtsolarmodulen (Q.SMART bei der Tochterfirma Solibro) belief sich auf 29 MWp (+74% im Vergleich zu Q1 2010). Das Net Working Capital stieg im ersten Quartal 2011 von 339,8 Mio. Euro auf 494,2 Mio. Euro.
Da das erste Quartal 2011 schwächer als im Vorjahr ausgefallen ist und zudem die Nachfragesituation sowohl für das zweite Quartal als auch das zweite Halbjahr 2011 mit erheblichen Unsicherheiten behaftet ist, ist eine Prognose für das Gesamtjahr 2011 mit hohen Unwägbarkeiten behaftet. Das Ziel des Unternehmens, einen Umsatz in etwa auf Höhe des Vorjahresniveaus zu erreichen, steht unter der Voraussetzung einer stärkeren Marktnachfrage im zweiten Halbjahr 2011 und einer entsprechenden Auslastung der Produktionskapazitäten. Aufgrund der bestehenden hohen Unsicherheiten über die weitere Entwicklung von Einkaufs- und Verkaufspreisen kann Q-Cells derzeit keine Prognose für das operative Ergebnis im laufenden Jahr geben. Wenn die Marktnachfrage im zweiten Halbjahr 2011 anzieht, die Verkaufspreise sich stabilisieren, die Preise für Wafer und Silber nachgeben sowie die geplanten Projekte im Systemgeschäft realisiert werden können, ist von einem positiven operativen Ergebnis für das Gesamtjahr auszugehen.

In March 2010 Nedim Cen was appointed to the position of CEO of Q-Cells SE, having initially joined the Executive Board of the company in June 2009. In this role he is responsible for Corporate Strategy, Legal & Compliance, Corporate Communications and Human Resources within Q-Cells SE. He has gathered almost two decades of experience in management consultancy, investment banking and operative management.
