Its products include a range of microwave and power grid vacuum electron devices (VEDs), satellite communications amplifier subsystems, radar and electronic warfare subsystems, specialized antenna subsystems, solid-state integrated microwave assemblies, medical x-ray generators and control systems, modulators and transmitters, and various electronic power supply and control equipment and devices. These products are used for critical defense, communications, medical, scientific, and other applications to generate, amplify, transmit, direct, measure, and control various forms of electromagnetic energy; and provide the voltages and currents to power and control devices that generate electromagnetic energy. The company operates in two segments, VED and Satcom Equipment. The VED segment develops, manufactures, and distributes high power/high frequency microwave and RF signal components. Its products include linear beam, cavity, power grid, crossed field, and magnetron devices. These products are used in the communication, radar, electronic countermeasures, industrial, medical, and scientific markets. This segment distributes its products through direct sales force, independent sales representatives, and distributors. The Satcom Equipment segment manufactures and supplies high power amplifiers and networks for satellite communication uplink and industrial applications. It also provides spares, service, and other post sales support. This segment distributes its products through its direct sales force and independent sales representatives. Eimac Products
Eimac, now part of CPI's Microwave Power Products Division, was founded in 1934 as Eitel-McCullough, Inc. The company’s first products were transmitting tubes with the high performance and stable design features that were required by the Ham radio community. Under the leadership of the founders, Bill Eitel and Jack McCullough, the company grew and expanded to meet the needs of the U.S. military during World War II.
Eimac continued to advance the technology and developed modern, high-power ceramic tubes which incorporate innovative Pyrolytic graphite grids for short-wave and UHF television broadcast. Regarded as a technical innovator, Eimac has become the worldwide leader in broadcast tubes. Eimac designs and produces power tubes for broadcast, communications, radar, industrial heating, semiconductor processing, science and medical applications, with customers located in virtually every country in the world. All Eimac tubes are made in the U.S.
Econco Products
Econco Division, a wholly owned subsidiary of CPI , has been a recognized leader in rebuilt power tubes since 1969. Its 40,000 square foot facility incorporates state-of-the-art testing systems that ensure production consistency and product reliability. Tubes sent in for rebuild are given a complete internal inspection and failure analysis. They are then rebuilt by hand and retested to the original tube specifications. Econco maintains an extensive inventory of rebuilt tubes for immediate shipment to their worldwide customer base.
