Orange Business Services ranks “World Class” and wins a Gold Award for Outstanding Performance, based on the Telemark data VPN Voice of the Customer report.

Orange Business Services attained the accolade World Class and topped the league table for the ninth consecutive time over the past four and half years. The highest attainable rating and meriting the Gold Award is based on customers rating Orange Business Services as Outstanding in the following categories:

  • support in local language
  • secure date transfer
  • geographical reach end to end – as the only provider to offer “Outstanding: geographical coverage
  • installation guarantees
  • indispensable to customers
  • network reliability

Orange Business Services broke three previous World Records and raised the customer satisfaction bar to a new level in 2010. Based on the Telemark data VPN Voice of the Customer report, Orange Business Services received awards for successfully outperforming rivals in key service categories or attributes. In addition to its Outstanding ratings, Orange Business Services scored Excellent in reaching difficult locations – dramatically ahead of rivals – and billing at cost center – significantly outperforming rivals with the only Excellent rating.

According to Janet Watkin, director at Telemark: “In a very competitive environment where there is a widespread climate of austerity, providing a consistently high standard of service is even more imperative than in less challenging times. Furthermore, raising the bar for the customer service experience shows that the Orange Business Services commitment to a program on continuous improvement and adaptation, in line with customers’ expectations, is working.”

“This Gold Award illustrates our strong focus on customer satisfaction,” said Dominique Espinasse, senior vice president, Customer Services & Operations, Orange Business Services. “Providing an outstanding customer experience is indeed one of the top five priorities in our conquests 2015 five-year strategic plan. Customer loyalty is our No. 1 priority and we want to differentiate ourselves through the customer experience. This recognition is thanks to all the Orange employees who on a daily basis, through their commitments to our customers, help Orange to build this increasing customer satisfaction.”

Telemark’s data VPN Voice of the Customer report is based on data from 882 interviews conducted between August 2009 and August 2010.

Yesterday, to support the people of Niger, the Orange Foundation and Orange Niger sent to the country's authorities 500 metric tons of grain (300 tons of corn and 200 tons of millet), valued at €150,000, for distribution to the populations affected by the food crisis.

Food and humanitarian emergency in Niger
The Nigerien government has announced that 7.8 million people (58.2% of the country’s population) suffer from food shortages.
With 80% of them living in rural areas, Niger’s people live off subsistence agriculture and livestock farming. The 2009 drought created a massive shortfall in grain and feed production. Millet, corn, sorghum and rice imported from neighboring countries are now selling at prices far too high for families to afford.
Faced with this food crisis the Nigerien government has called for aid from the international community, NGOs and companies via the food crisis unit.
“We have chosen to rely on the food crisis unit. Our local teams inside the country will support the unit's food distribution,” said Jean-Louis Branco, CEO of Orange Niger. “We are a large international Group, based in Niger for two years now, and the least we can do is make a contribution as a corporate citizen. Also, 80% of Orange Niger staff are citizens of the country, so they are very sensitive to what is happening there. They are proud that the company they work for is contributing to this support effort,” emphasized Jean-Louis Branco.

Three major health and education patronage projects carried out in Niger
Orange Niger’s technical site provides solar power for the community health outpost at Karazomé, in southern Niger, to store medicine and improve conditions for health workers.
In the village of Zinder, in eastern Niger, Orange has funded the construction of two schoolrooms for the Collège d’Enseignement Général de Kagna.
In the Dogondoutchi and Filingué districts, in the south and northwest of the country, a large project is underway, the first component of which is to build and equip "Second Chance” schooling centers for 240 8- to 14-year-olds, 50% of them girls who had previously dropped out of school. The second component offers key support to 50 schools, providing learning materials and toilets benefiting 7,000 children, of whom 4,200 are girls. This project is run in partnership with Aide et Action, and takes over from the "Girls in School” program that had previously been run in 15 communities around Balleyara.

Orange Foundation projects in Africa

The Orange Foundation has been running patronage projects in Africa since 2005. The Group’s patronage activities on the continent are focused on three broad areas:  health/disability, education and culture.
The Orange Foundation currently coordinates and develops patronage projects in all 15 countries in which the Group operates: Botswana, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Kenya, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Niger, Uganda, Central African Republic, Senegal, and soon Tunisia.

The Orange Foundation takes action to make the world more accessible
Since its creation in 1987, the Orange Foundation has been running a major patronage program as an extension of its corporate mission: helping everyone communicate better. By combating sensory isolation, promoting greater independence in daily and working life, and encouraging broader cultural and social life, the Orange Foundation is taking action to make the world more accessible.  The Foundation’s patronage is dispersed in three areas: health/disability, education and culture.
A major component of the Group's patronage is employee involvement through volunteer work, project sponsorship and collective staff support.
In addition to its work in France, the Orange Foundation unites and coordinates all the Group’s patronage projects around the world, supporting projects in 30 countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
