Are these the people we have to choose from? Come on! I'll just have to write in Green Lantern like I did the last presidential election.
Watching the democratic debates. WOW. My heart sinks to another level when I realize that there are people actually supporting Obama and Clinton. Might as well just let the government take over everything because that's the future with the dems. Yeah, I want to be forced into a health care plan by my own government, and if I don't, I get slapped with a big fine. Sounds nice. Any time the government gets involved, it just ends up costing a whole lot more in the end and turning into a huge mess. period.
Looks like Mccains' got it wrapped up. Are people seriously voting for Barak Hussein Obama?
Wow- Looks like Huckabee might pull some delegates out of his pocket tonight! So close for both parties, I love it!
LOL! So true!!!
THIS IS A NONPARTISAN JOKE THAT CAN BE ENJOYED BY BOTH PARTIES! NOT ONLY THAT ... IT IS POLITICALLY CORRECT!!
While walking down the street one day a US senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies. His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.
"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."
"No problem, just let me in," says the man.
"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."
"Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven, "says the senator.
"I'm sorry, but we have our rules." And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the Middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.
Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne.
Also present is the devil who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go.
Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises... The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him. "Now it's time to visit heaven."
So, 24 hours pass with the senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.
"Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity."
The senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell."
So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.
He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.
The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder. "I don't understand," stammers the senator! "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"
The devil looks at him, smiles and says, "Yesterday we were campaigning ...
...
Today you voted."
Bush's motives for going in there were crazy. Saddam was no threat to anyone in the region other than Iran.
We should have taken him out during Desert Storm. That was the time to have gone in to Iraq. It would have been over in 2 months top probably. We had justification for it. Storm-in Norman wanted to do just that. Ole man Bush chose otherwise. Every war crime imaginable he was then guilty of. He was left for the lesser of the two evils. Now we got the more powerful evil, and Alqaeda, and the Taliban regrouping.
Setting dates publicly is probably not the best of ideas. We need to get out there sooner than later, and establish checkpoints like the Israeli's do. The country does have to protect itself and the training and equipment will need to be sold to them so they can. Your right we put the country in a vulnerable situation and now we are bogged down. The whole Middle East situation crazy without the Taliban and Alqaeda. There little else than a MiddleEast gang of fanatics with to much time on their hands. We get Bin Laden and this would change the face of things imo. Won't stop the insurgent problem that is really coming out between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Thats the area we need to be lighting up from the air.
Iraq/oil and big business like Halliburton and Bush not wanting to pursue Bin Laden seemed evident considering the Bush's family and their close ties with the Bin Laden family.
The politicians spent 8 years pursuing Clinton and trying to take him down, and when 911 took place they got caught with their pants down.
Iraq??????????.
I agree we should have not gotten into this war now, looking back. But the question is what to do now. I just can't see leaving millions of people to whatever fate awaits them when many of them are actually trying and dying to make it work along side our troops. It's just a big mess that has no easy answer, but what is your take?
JFK was very likable, and its sad his life ended the way it did. Like Bush, he got us into a War we should have never been involved in, Vietnam, then there was the Bay of Pigs, both disasters. Johnson really got it kicked off by telling the American people lies. If we can imagine it all had begun with the French wanting their resources and colonizing those people. In their wake they left death and destruction. For what good things they accomplished, both their legacies are overwhelmed with violence, even Jfk's assassination, and MLK's, this was followed by his brother Roberts assassination.
To much was done in all the wrong ways, and divided this country into many broken parts. We had so much crime even then, especially with gang activity, and the money and the manpower would have been better served toward quashing these activities here at home when these problems had already become serious issues. We are witnessing today just how big a problem we are facing here in our Nation today, and with little to no attention to illegals then coming into our country, today they estimate approx 12 million. Within this 12 million a guess really are gangs as far away as South America.
Friday a week ago a Miller Brewery executive was killed her by 2 Latin Kings and a girl friend. He stopped after work for a beer and upon leaving the establishment he was robbed at gunpoint at his car. Shot and robbed for $90 and 2 sports tickets.........I think he was in his 40's. They police got them. Class X, 1st degree, premeditated murder, but they always have a reason you know for why it occurred. The alarm went off in his car........pretty sad.
In my last response.
Sierra Leone is the correct spelling I believe is that South Western African country I was communicating about. Its where the blood Diamonds come from.
Obama is all talk-says what people want to hear, not the truth. Just like most politicians only Obama is great at deception. He seems to be a "One world government" type of guy imo. He says he's a uniter and I do believe that, but it is for all the wrong reasons. He scares me more than Hillary because he is such a smooth talker. It doesn't help that the media talks of him being the next JFK. Come on. They really pump him up.
What I meant to say in para 6, "six" lol, was what he represents for the country, and the direction he wants to take it in, not for what he represents being black. I believe we saw some of this come out with Oprah, who had always supported the Clintons, who by the way went to the same high school my wife attended.
Guess if we have to go that way I would choose Hillary. Tuesday won't be the end all, we still have a long way to go.
Boroc and if you can imagine the irony of a man named Obama for President, a known Muslim name and a politician from Illinois?....gets even crazier. Chicago has been one of the worst for crime, drugs, homicides, and gang infested cities next to LA, and he didn't do much to resolve these issues, nor did he do anything to combat it from being one of the more corrupted political states in the country. How would he run a country, or the war on terror?.
One day we may get the right black person running for President, and when we do the race card won't be played, nor will those issues ever surface for why he or she should or shouldn't be President. The topic won't be worth the time talking about.
We have one of the best Orthopedic surgeons in the world that came out of Sari-Leon Africa, and black. My spelling of this I'm sure is wrong, he was spared as a young man from the the murderous rebels by a white man who took him out of one of the poorest, and bloodiest countries on the planet.
Not one OS can do what he has proven he can do, nor understands the human spine the way he does, and are willing to except the risk associated with fixing the crippling effects it can have on young children born with the defects that some are born with. Wish I could think of his name. He is quite remarkable. He practices today in NY. What a gift was given to our country and children around the world.
George Washington Carver is another remarkable person who chose not to allow, race, the era, and all that was stacked against him stop him from doing, what his curiosity, and passion for research hinder him. Thanks to him those who work in agriculture even today benefits from his finds. Again, he did not spend his time looking for excuses or looking for reasons why he should be rewarded because he was born black.
One day the right person not the right black man will rise to the occassion, he won't be seen for what he represents, and step up to the plate, but Boroc imo is not him. Maybe a white one to, just maybe like Lou Dobbs. Huckabee has not only those same kind of qualities but has some keen insight on what our country needs, and the direction it should take. Reminds me of FDR a bit.
America failed to see alot of things, and this is why we got the wrong Republican ran Congress for so many years, and 8 years of Bush. One of the problems imo is the limitation of our having only 2 party system.
Maybe funny but, kinda like the North and South side gangs like Capone and Bugsy Moran. No one else stands a chance no matter.
Whew! LOL
Ok- I admitt that would be a great idea! Think it's between Mitt and Mccain now though, but we should see by tuesday. Who's your favorite on the Democrat side?
Huckabee is the best choice imo and I'm an Independent.
Lou Dobbs should be his running mate.
State of the Union:
It is sad to watch the democrats remain sitting when the republicans stand and clap for the president. You can't tell me not one democrat agrees with the president on an issue. They all stick together like a little high school click. They do not represent the people. Their party's ideals come before the people. This is proof of that.
I was really hoping for an uncommitted win in Michigan. Oh well, Hillary, you did a great job even if you weren't running against anyone!
Huckabee on the Cobert Report? What people will do for votes is amazing- just like Hillary's fake cry show in New Hampshire. Dispicable!
Mitt looked nice tonight because Fred did all his dirty work for him.
Fred Thompson picked Huckabee up, turned him over on his knee, spanked him , then dropped him on his head in that debate tonight. Sweeeeeeeeet! GO THOMPSON!!!
Nobody can be counted out just yet. What a suprise with Hillary winning New Hampshire! Mccain has got to be in the top two in michigan to stay in the race.
In New Hampshire, they will vote against someone just because the people in Iowa voted for them. lol. Even the conservatives in New Hampshire are liberal! I hope I eat my words. We'll see tonight!
Stuck between Mcain and Thompson. I don't think Huckabee has the poise to be president. Do not trust Mitt at all. Mcain has the experience. All democrats left are too liberal IMO. But if I had to choose one, it would be Edwards.
Hillary crying? How funny! It was either a show or she really meant it. Either way she loses. If it was real, she showed weakness. It's even worse if it was for show.
