The person has to come to realization that their is only one way to go,
It is not easy!

Jersey,unless your son wants to be cured it is a long battle as I found out with my youngest son.My older son introducted younger to drinking ,unknown to me at the time ,when he attended a sibling weekend at his fraternity.
He had numerous driving violations until he admitted he had to go cold turkey he kept getting close to imprisonment.
He,thank God ,has been sober over 10 years but he was close to edge. The Irish in him was difficult to control.
Drinking is so engrained in our culture that to not drink is an anomaly considered abnormal.
I am convinced that genetically some cannot drink due to predetermined dispositions.
Younger son finds it is hard to go to bars and gatherings and be the one who does not drink.
It takes a strong person to resist in our culture.
My son has lost several friends due to drinking and it is a curse not a blessing.
All our prayers ,I am sure,go out to you and your son.

I am not a CW fan but this was good. I did grow up in the area of SouthernOhio that did like CW muisc which I did not.
I do remember working in a large service station facility as a teenage on a major highway in the Summer and Porter Wagonner and Dolly Parten came in in a large bus with their band and he berated me for not recognizing him and showing adulation but he meant nothing to me.
Needless to say I received no tip.
I now have matured and I do recognize that some of the CW has redeeming
qualities. Funny how memories flood back as one gets older.

My wife's mother was pure Irish,Gilhooley,Moran,Duffy,erc.and I had the ANCESTRY study done and found I am over 20% Irish which surprised me.

The Irish were a prolific bunch and I hope offshoots of Lehman debacle can be so.
