tjs, could you remind us what was the strike price of those warrants and when they expire? Were they adjusted for splits?
gracias
Well, I guess we will see what the new spot price will be. My 6K warrants avg $.98 is quite high.
I should have bought warrants to shorted SUNW on the pop.
Still a good strategy, but need the pps to move above $1 to give it more room to fall...
If you could please let us know what the number will be I think we would all be grateful.
thank you.
what's the new strike price?
does 147 shares count?
does anyone have an example of warrants that traded for pennies less than 2 yrs b4 expiry and somehow made it?
Im in DM BPL as well, BPL is OK but DM is starting to make me lose sleep... yikes!
they didnt cut divy like TCP...
Nothing to hang your hat on over here. Why would anyone hold shares? If profitability is the speculation , then have fun losing your money. This company is still grossly over valued.
Clawing back my gigantic loses with....oil.
Carl, i came to see how many lefties are still around after the solarworld "deal".
I can't believe ppl didnt dump solar altogether. Insiders/manipulators are laughing all the way to the bank. Seems to be a infinite supply of idiots believing in this industry.
Spwr "against" tariff and solarworld "for" it. Trump signs tariff and 1 month lateer spwr buys solarworld? Does anyone here believe that 2 months ago spwr and solarworld didn't agree to a m&a ?
foolish investors.
Seems like Abe and Jim are the only sober people around.
Sad but true: SCTY dying a slow death. Weak sales. A teaser of what to expect from SUNW in q4. Not anticipating anything good, wondering just how bad this is going to be.
- sales fading
- technology stangnant
- fading number of rich hippies in California.
- fading tax incentives.
- suniva import duties applied on cheap solar not helping
- chart doesn't look like it wants to move up.
There is nothing to hang your hat on. I'm surprised this is trading above $1. Algos seem to be maintaining minimum bid price for as long as they can.
Good luck.
With the "big announcement" around the corner Jan 12. What will Trump do?
Looking at the price action, nobody cares....
82 cents is what the company says its worth. Paying anything above this is switching your brain to "ludicrous mode".
SUNW = sellers paradise - I've never been happier to see this stock fall.
And fall it knows how to do best. Falling PPS however is a good thing for all. The markets can force management to do something positive or close business. The lower the PPS the closer the knife gets to their throat.
somebody looked at the macd and said "hell no" we're going lower.
lower it is!
Residential is the bread and butter of solar.
No resi = no profit.
q3 2014 had more $rev$ in resi than q3 2017...
No wonder the market cap was considerably higher.
The industry is growing, SUNW is shrinking. To me that's the bottom line.
Shrinking equity
shrinking revenue
shrinking cash.
Can't find a reason to buy.
I think we will see lower prices. How low? Who knows? But I rather lose potential than capital. Some of the blood is mine, but the blood loss didn't kill me. (But was significant)
Im waiting for jan 13. and in the meantime regrouping.
GL
Jim will always be an employee - Options.
I think Chuck did worse than JN. He was very excited for the 2nd half of 2017. MAJOR improvements in business he saw, with profitability for 2017 a goal. Profitability is impossible. Over-runs are unacceptable.
I simply dont understand how you take 3 profitable companies and turn them in to money losing machines?
I am waiting for Jan 13. to see what I will do.
I have never been happier to see this stock plummet. I think we will bottom somewhere in the 70's
GL and hope this Q was a wake-up call for all regular ppl.
Jan 13, 2018. Quite an important date for solar. Especially sunw. They cant make a profit (or sell) altogether without tariffs imagine the disaster with more expensive panels.
Chuck seems more interested in increasing backlog, not revenue.
Shareholder equity decreasing.
Residential is practically dead.
VSLR - Increase of +50% YoY in revenue. Profitable. Sharholder equity increase. Cash increase.
RUN - Increase 40% YoY revenue. Profitable. Shareholder euity increase. Cash increase.
SUNW- Decrease of 15% YoY revenue. Shareholder equity decrease 20%. Cash decrease. Not profitable.
THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY IS GROWING AND SUNW IS SHRINKING?!
Perhaps the leasing companies are using the 30% ITC credit to outbid the sales guys?
Same here, what doesn't kill you makes you smarter.
I'm looking at gold stocks.
ego, asm, auy.
(maybe ill recoup some losses ;P)
Warrants are a good way to cap your short position @ 4.15 and short it.
Ive seen tickers move into the mid dollar range before they move up.
(enph, fcel...)
I think warrants are a better way to have skin in the game on this one, but personally I think I can get them for less than 10 cents.
What do I know. GOOD LUCK!
slipping and sliding revenue... i wonder why, RUN, VSLR, FSLR, SPWR dont have these problems?
i sold out today with a massive loss.
not happy.
everyone is in the red.
what completely pissed me off were the "cost over runs" WTF??
6 years wasted, and money gone. i guess what doesnt kill me makes me smarter.
if the entire industry grows and you're falling, something isnt right.
the only way to trade this is buy warrants and short the shit outta this.

For those who care I suppose.
The entire stock market is one big manipulation. The Q4 disaster and q1 miss falls nothing short of manipulation. I'm not sure how many of you out here have ever held a hammer or built something? This nonsense that certain projects were not "completed in time" in order to be included in q4 is a lie. The truth is that there is no possible way anyone can verify when projects start or finish. Because of this we can expect "creative accounting".
No REV predictions this time around ehh??
Not too much info is being given to digest. There are 3 reasons (i can think of) why the case is not so important.
1) tariffs or no tariffs we have a 30% ITC credit until 2020. This credit covers the cost of installing solar. If the tariff increases the cost by 30cents/W, then the price of a 7KW system increases by $1400.
2) the US gov will probably lose out on the tariff because of the significant reduction in income taxes payable. If the gov doesn't benefit, then it's not interested.
3) Going in favor of the SEIA ( sunworks, sunpower...) Mr. T. has an opportunity to reach out to tree hugging blue voters. Political play.
You are surprised that this forum isn't covering the suniva case. I'm surprised ELON MUSK didn't say anything...
Can rgse compete with tsla? Yes. But the compwtition will not be fierce. These shingles are a joke be it tsla's or Dow's. They are very expensive. Countries likr France, Italy, Spain see very VERY little new construction, and roofing in Europe is made to last for decades...no market there. Canada and usa have some new construxtion but it's not enough. ( most new homes cost between 200-300K. A $50K roof for a new homeowner is a liability. That adds 300$/month more to a moetgage payment.
Africa will buy ZERO solar shingles. EUROPE will buy very little. China probably none. S. America forget it (incl. Chile and arhentina) Asia=zero.
My opinion...
For those who didn't notice: the last 2 trading days marked a first ever in this tickers history where the pps moved up in spite of heavy selling volume. very interesting.
with the kind of unusually high volume we saw the last few days, we might see a 1.70's close this week.
Oct 3: important date on Suniva petition schedule. SPWR CEO to speak out against the ITC recommendation.
I'm not sure why a mitsui buyout is important at all. I don't understand why SUNW didnnt buy out SUNE backlog for the 15mil in the first place. Why did a company like forefront do it? Bragging that we got a contract from a middleman is not super exciting/it got the price up a few cents, so Im happy.
I guess around $1.70/W or more....
These last few days saw unusually large transactions come out of nowhere.
2 days ago 95000, and 38000 shares or something like that. Yesterday +20K.
8.5MW is large.
I think these kinds of deals will push as from nano-cap land to small cap....
September 22: ITC decision on whether the domestic CSPV industry has suffered serious harm due to imports. This is a major milestone and will either end the case or begin the remedy process -- circle the date on your calendars

It would be hard to justify 1.30 levels. The entire solar industry is up 50% or more from April-May lows.
Suniva/Solarworld vs SEIA/SPWR/SUNW and many others.
Who will win?
Speculation: China is playing their cards in line with the USA. I think the US will return the favor and go in favor of SUNW. (N Korea)

Golden cross coming?
Anything below $1.60 is a great buy. Chuck thinks so as well.
Below 1.70 is just good.
Thanks Mark for the video.
Makes me wonder how much of a solar installer vs solar logistics company SUNW is. I'm confused. Are we installers or a logistics company?
No problem. Rule of thumb, if you are not a leader (kinda like fslr), or cannot shatter expectations, stay in line with the street and market in general. There is a reason why we don't post earnings along with the big boys. SUNW adjusts whatever numbers they can to make it "in line" with the others.
We should be leaders in solar sales. Vivint is transitioning to sales.
We should be better than they are.
Honestly, this is not a do or die quarter for me.
Q3 is (probably) a do or die. If I dont see a $100MM for 2017, I will humbly accept my loss (mistake) and look elsewhere to make money.
Im not on the markets to invest. I need to make cash, and my money is frozen here and moving in the wrong direction.
Following this company for 7 years and my patience is simply running out.
Nelson mentioned that they are starting a "Trust Fund". Wonder if we can have an update.
Im also completely not interested in backlog. Backlog is unverifiable info. Show me the sales and cash... not backlog... :P
Backlog is not submitted info officially in a SEC filing.
