He may be the most famous man who ever lived, but surprisingly little is known about his life.
This Sunday (March 31), more than 2 billion Christians will celebrate Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead. While there is no scientific way to know whether that supernatural event at the heart of Christianity actually happened, historians have established some facts about his life.
From his birth to his execution by the Romans, here are six facts about the historical Jesus.
1. His birth … in a manger?
Most historians believe Jesus was a real man. To test the veracity of biblical claims, historians typically compare Christian accounts of Jesus' life with historical ones recorded by Romans and Jews, most notably the historians Flavius Josephus and Cornelius Tacitus.
And though a manger may or may not have figured prominently in the birth, scholars do agree that Jesus was born between 2 B.C. and 7 B.C. as part of the peasant class in a small village called Nazareth in Galilee. Historians also back the claim that Joseph, Jesus' father, was a carpenter, meaning Jesus would have gone into the family profession as well.
2. A mystical baptism
One of the pivotal moments in the New Testament is Jesus' baptism in the wilderness by a radical mystic named John the Baptist. Most historians believe this event actually occurred, and that Jesus experienced some sort of vision that led him to begin preaching. In the New Testament, Mark 1:10 (The New American Bible, Revised Edition) describes Jesus seeing "the heavens being torn open and the Spirit, like a dove, descending upon him." Jesus is then tempted by Satan in the wilderness for 40 days, the passage continues.
The Jewish historian Josephus mentions the mystical activities of John the Baptist, as well as his execution by King Herod. [History's 10 Most Overlooked Mysteries]
3. Reformer
After his vision, Jesus began to preach that the Earth could be changed into a "Kingdom of God." Jesus' message of reform was deeply rooted in the Jewish tradition, and he likely never viewed himself as creating a new religion per se — just reforming the one he was born into, scholars say.
4. A wise teacher
Josephus not only mentions Jesus, in one passage he also describes him as a wise man and a teacher. (The passage is controversial because many historians believe a Christian author later added in phrases such as "He was the messiah" to the text, leading a few scholars to doubt the authenticity of the passage as a whole). Most historians agree, however, that Jesus was viewed as a teacher and healer in Galilee and Judea.
5. Timing of Jesus' crucifixion
Several sources mention Jesus' crucifixion at the hands of Pontius Pilate, the Roman prefect. Christian Gospels say the skies darkened for hours after the crucifixion, which historians viewed either as a miracle or a portent of dark times to come. Using astronomy, later historians have used this mention to pinpoint the death of Christ. Some tie the crucifixion to a one-minute 59-second total solar eclipse that occurred in 29 C.E., whereas others say a second total eclipse, blocking the sun for four minutes and six seconds, in 33 C.E. marked Jesus' death. (C.E. stands for Common Era or Christian Era, and is an alternative name for anno Domini, or A.D.)
Death by crucifixion was one of the goriest ends the Romans meted out, and it was typically reserved for slaves and those seen to be challenging Roman authority.
6. Historical relics
The historical veracity of various physical relics, such as the crucifixion nails and crown of thorns Jesus wore on the cross, have decidedly less historical or scientific backing. Most scientific studies suggest that these relics originated long after Jesus died. But the most famous relic of Jesus, the shroud of Turin, may be on more solid footing: Whereas some parts of the shroud date to A.D. 1260, other analyses have suggested that the shroud is about as old as Jesus.
Another more recent finding, a scrap of papyrus from the early Christian era referring to Jesus' wife was unveiled last year, to much skepticism. Since then, evidence has come out to suggest the so-called Gospel of Jesus' Wife is a forgery, though the jury may still be out on that relic.

Booker T. Washington on Black Victimhood
Black racists are coming out of the woodwork. It’s hard to imagine how vile and bigoted they are in their attacks on Herman Cain. Such treatment has a long history. Today, it’s an industry.
A number of black “leaders” (e.g., Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton) have made their living by promoting black victimhood and white guilt. Jesse Jackson has been shaking down corporations with the scam for decades. Booker T. Washington (1865–1915) warned of such people within the black community in his 1911 book My Larger Education. He described them as “problem profiteers”:
“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs – partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.” (p. 118)
I guess not!
So? Have you ever owned a house in the "hood"? I have.... it's not pleasant! You have to lock up everything and pick up trash in your front yard every morning. It sucks!
I know you know it but Zimmerman is a Latino!
More blacks has nothing to do with guns.
You are not from the South you are a transplant ...I am from the south.... We are not as racist as the North!
Sox just wondering? How many black people live in your house? I have 2 at the moment..used to have more. One now is my step daughter that just had a stroke.... She lives with me because her kids can't get their shit together and get a stable place. It's not the white mans fault ...he is taking care of their mom....it's their fault for being schmucks and stooges ....like most of the black kids their age!
Never got in conspiracy genre!
It does not matter what you post on this subject...liberals refuse to admit the black family is dysfunctional.
If you don't know who Dr. Carson is....shame on you

Dr. Ben Carson, a black Johns Hopkins University neurosurgeon and conservative favorite after challenging President Barack Obama at the National Prayer Breakfast, said Monday on "The Mark Levin Show" that white liberals are "racist."
"And you're attacked in many respects because of your race. You're not supposed to think like this, and supposed to talk like this. A lot of white liberals just don't like it, do they?" said Levin, host of the syndicated radio show.
"Well, they're the most racist people there are. You know, they put you in a little category, a little box -- you have to think this way. How could you dare come off the plantation?" responded Carson.
Carson is scheduled to speak at the Hopkins' School of Medicine commencement ceremony this year. A group of students petitioned to have him replaced as speaker after he compared gay marriage to bestiality and pedophilia last week. Carson said Friday that he was prepared to withdraw.
The school told HuffPost Friday that it had heard of no change in plans and said he was chosen for his medical accomplishments, not personal views.
Carson said Monday that it was "to be determined" whether he would speak and that he was going to "wait and see."
Oh the ugly fact!
Just some causal reading
The “New Century Foundation” studies Federal crime reports, and found significant differences in crime ratio between races, verified by the FBI’s NCVS, National Crime Victimization Survey, and The Department of Justice’s UCR, Uniform Crime Reports, FBI Communication’s Division, 304-625-4995.
They state emphatically that the Judicial System is not biased against minorities.
Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and eight times more likely to commit robbery.
Blacks are three times more likely to use a hand gun, and twice more likely to use a knife.
Hispanics commit three times more violent crimes than whites, but the statistics are nebulous because sometimes they are classified as white, so it could be far higher.
The best indicator of violent crime levels in an area is the percent of the population that is black and Hispanic.
Blacks are 39 times more likely to commit a violent crime against whites then vice versa, and 136 times more likely to commit a robbery.
Forty-five percent of black crime is against whites, 43 against other blacks, and 10 percent against Hispanic.
Blacks are seven times more likely to go to prison, Hispanics three times, and the reason is clear, because from 1980 to 2003 the US incarceration rate has tripled, and so proves that Justice is not only hard won, but well served.

Psalm 1
1 Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.
4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
Thank you yes indeed!
That was a paper written by a Professor however, believe what you want. The amount of Latinos lynched in cow towns must have been staggering.
There is a link embedded in this paragraph
This means, since people tend to kill members of their own race, as Bouie says, “black men are a disproportionate share of the nation’s murder victims.” You can’t disentangle that from the fact that blacks are much more likely to commit more murders than whites (for many reasons, of course, some of which Bouie points out). See the FBI’s chart here — there were 2,447 murders of blacks by blacks in 2011, almost the same number as white-on-white murders; when the former group is just one-sixth the size of the latter, it certainly seems like it should qualify as a “thing.”

Science thanks for the personal attack though. So if anyone disagrees with you ...you go on the attack?
They don't even know the exact amount lynched but experts say more than blacks. Just a messenger here...believe it or not.
There. Is much truth to that. Serial killers and pedophiles are usually white men. Admit it and go on. If a serial killer sets up shop in your town do think it's unfair to profile him?
Here you go
In North from Mexico: the Spanish Speaking People of the United States Carey McWilliams asserts that ?more Mexicans were lynched in the Southwest between 1865 and 1920 than blacks in other parts of the south.? Hundreds of unrestrained murders of Mexicans and other Latinos have gone largely unrecognized. Previous work on lynching has focused on the murders of African Americans in the South. Those works that have discussed violence against Mexicans in the Southwest in this period conflate lynching murders with generalized stories on ?frontier violence? and ?vigilantism.? In addition, no work has been published that considers ?modern? southwestern lynchings of Mexican.
My sociolegal project tracks racialized violence against Latinos in the U.S., recovering victims expunged from written histories; reconsiders the features of U.S. racialized terror as not solely concerned with the black object; and examines how nation building and the consolidation of national belonging have been constructed through ritualized, performative violence.
I focus on shifting legal structures and approaches. In particular I trace the shift in language?both legal and socially?from naming such acts ?lynching? to the current use of the phrase ?Hate Crime.? How does this linguistic shift reflect social attitudes toward racialized violence and how are these shifts solidified in legal structures?
Lol!
More Latinos have been lynched than blacks!
No Peg....its epidemic and hiding your head in sand won't make the problem go away. Young black men make up 8% of the population and account for 50% of all crimes. Being PC won't solve the problem.
Lol that's funny!

George Michael Zimmerman was born on October 5, 1983, in Manassas, Virginia,[53] and is the son of Gladys (née Mesa) Zimmerman, who was born in Peru,[4] and Robert Zimmerman, Sr., a retired Virginia magistrate.[54][55] He was raised Catholic,[4] in a family that his father has described as "multiracial;" his father is a white American of German descent[56] and his mother is Peruvian with some black ancestry through her Afro-Peruvian maternal grandfather.[4][Note 1] Zimmerman's voter registration record lists him as Hispanic and a registered Democrat.
Zimmerman's height is reportedly 5'7? (1.70 m); and his weight is recorded as being 185 lb (84 kg) on his Seminole County Sheriff's Office Inmate Booking Information dated April 11, 2012, the date of his arrest.[52] Zimmerman's height is shown as 5'8? (1.73 m); and his weight at 200 lb (91 kg) on the Sanford Police Department Offense Report for February 26, 2012, the night of the shooting.[59]
In 2009, Zimmerman had moved with his wife to The Retreat at Twin Lakes in Sanford, Florida, a multi-ethnic[60] gated community, where the shooting occurred.[43][44] At the time of the shooting, he was employed as an insurance underwriter and was in his final semester at Seminole State College for an associate degree in Criminal Justice.[4][61] In one of his interviews with police he stated his goal was to become a judge.[62]
In 2005, at the age of 21, Zimmerman was charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest, after shoving an officer while a friend of Zimmerman's was being questioned about underage drinking. The charges were reduced, then dropped when Zimmerman entered a pre-trial diversion program. Also in 2005, Zimmerman's ex-fiance filed a restraining order against him, alleging domestic violence. Zimmerman requested a reciprocal restraining order. Both orders were granted.[4][63] The incidents were raised by prosecutors at Zimmerman's initial bond hearing. The judge described the incidents as "run of the mill" and "somewhat mild" and rejected the prosecution's claim that the incidents demonstrated that Zimmerman was violent or a threat to the community.[4][64][65]
First he is Latino... After that we can talk.
Ironically were it not for Frances Robles writing a Miami Herald article on March 26th 2012 an entire chain of events would not have taken place.
It was that Robles article, and the outlining of the Miami-Dade School Police Department’s report on a Trayvon Martin incident from October 2011, that kicked off an internal investigation by M-DSPD Police Chief Hurley against his own officers to find out who leaked the police report.
[Note: The Miami-Dade Public School System has its own Police force, and Chief, who report to the School Board and Superintendent - Not the Police Dept. The Police Chief is appointed by the School Superintendent, in this example, Alberto Carvalho]
It was that M-DSPD internal affairs investigation which revealed in October 2011 Trayvon Martin was searched by School Resource Officer, Darryl Dunn. The search of Trayvon Martin’s backpack turned up at least 12 pcs of ladies jewelry, and a man’s watch, in addition to a flat head screwdriver described as “a burglary tool”.
When Trayvon was questioned about who owned the jewelry and where it came from, he claimed he was just holding it for a “friend”. A “friend” he would not name.
Later, after the police report was outlined in the Robles article, and despite Trayvon being suspended for the second time in a new school year, Martin family attorney, Benjamin Crump, said Trayvon’s dad, Tracy Martin, and Trayvon’s mom, Sybrina Fulton, did not know anything about the jewelry case.
It was only as a consequence of the M-DSPD internal affairs investigation that “why” they may not have known came to light.
The Zimmerman's stole? Lol!
Question why are we loosing black boys?
