LAPD uses January 6 techniques to identify Jewish students who fought back at a UCLA pro-Hamas protest
By Monica Showalter
They're studying Facebook posts. They're using frame-by-frame video screenshots of faces to match with gargantuan databases of named faces. They're seeking and taking tips from "friends" and relatives and ex-boyfriends.
For the UCLA Jewish students who got into a scrap with pro-Hamas illegal campout protestors, no doubt after hearing a slew of antisemitic statements and being blocked from attending class, they're doing exactly what they did to identify and hunt down January 6 protestors.
According to the Los Angeles Times, which reports this like it was a good thing:
It is shaping up to be perhaps the biggest case in the history of the UCLA Police Department: how to identify dozens of people who attacked a pro-Palestinian camp at the center of campus last week.
The mob violence was captured on live television, but it took three hours for police to bring it to an end. Those involved left, and no arrests were made.
But the trail is not cold.
UCLA detectives are now scanning hundreds of images in an attempt to identify the attackers. They intend to use technology that captures facial images and compares them to other photos on the internet and social media to put names to faces, according to law enforcement sources.
The same technology has allowed police to identify suspects in smash-and-grab retail burglaries. It also was the heart of the Jan. 6 investigation, in which videos of those storming the U.S. Capitol helped the FBI identify many of the assailants and led federal prosecutors to charge more than 1,300 people. In those cases, investigators often were able to find social media images of the assailant wearing the same clothing as during the attack.
So now they're spending big bucks to target UCLA Jewish students again, with the same use of intensive investigative techniques as they used on January 6 protestors.
They're taking years to do it, calling it their biggest operation, even as Los Angeles is awash with real crime, but this is more important to them, getting their man, or woman, as the case may be, championing a protest the establishment didn't like, same as they did with the January 6 protestors. Jews tussling with pro-Hamas protestors whose cause probably killed some of their relatives back on October 7 are their top priority, and this is their January 6.
How they will hunt. In the case of the January 6 protestors, they managed to bag people like these, a protestor known as "pink beret," Jennifer Inzunza Vargas Geller. The politicized law enforcers worked like beavers to swoop down on her several years after the fracas, though it's pretty obvious she wasn't doing anything more than just being there, spending millions in order to get her thrown into prison.
Now they'll do it to the Jewish students who fought back against the haters. Never mind catching the dirtbags who left the campus a steaming mess, graffiting its walls, junking its furniture, leaving a lot of smell and mess as well as landfill-sized amounts of litter. Those guys get off scot-free. As do the graffitiers of menacing messages on synagogues these days around the West Side of Los Angeles, the antisemitic assailants against visably Jewish people walking on the streets of Beverly Hills, and the freaks throwing smoke bombs and screaming against Jewish people in their homes in Brentwood. All of those things happened. But we hear not a word about catching the monsters who committed those crimes, or for that matter, the pro-Hamas lowlife who blocked Jewish students from their own classrooms at UCLA and injured some Jewish students, too.
Double standards anyone? The antisemitic bad guys walk. The Jewish students get the book thrown at them for fighting back after provocations.
It sure looks like a double-standard of justice to me.

A wake-up call for American Jews and moderate Democrats

Joe Biden’s official campaign chair offers insight into 2024 optimism: ‘We’re not selling hysteria’
By Olivia Murray
Jen O’Malley Dillon (“J.O.D.”) is apparently a Democrat campaign superstar, being the “first woman” (whatever that means) to chair a “winning” (again, whatever that means) presidential campaign, and she’s feeling very optimistic about Joe Biden’s 2024 chances because as she said in a recent Vanity Fair interview piece, “we’re not selling hysteria.”
I beg your pardon?
Looks like it’s time to roll out the receipts—below are seven instances where the Democrats and their minions did in fact peddle panic as a campaign tactic.
🤡 Clown moment #1: Maxine Waters invoking the debunked “bloodbath” comments and asserting that “right-wing” psychopaths are “training up in the hills somewhere” to rain violence down on civilians should Biden “win” again. On Sunday, Waters appeared on an MSNBC segment where she said this, via a report at Fox News:
‘I want to know about all of those right-wing organizations that [Trump] is connected with who are training up in the hills somewhere and targeting what communities they are going to attack. We need to know now, given that he is telling us there is going to be violence if he loses. We need to know what his plan is and how we are going to be protected,’ Waters said.
…
‘You can’t trust anything that Donald Trump has to say. No matter if he loses, he is going to say it was fraud. He still has not accepted what happened in the last presidential election. We have to be very concerned about a former President of the United States talking about attacking his own country, talking about perhaps a bloodbath, talking about perhaps there is going to be trouble. He said it in so many different ways,’ Waters said.
She added, ‘We should take him seriously. This man does not believe in the Constitution. He wants to be a dictator. This is a dangerous human being. We have to know what our country is going to do to protect us from him.’
🤡 Clown moment #2: Hillary Clinton’s “Hitler was duly elected” comment. While speaking to her observations as a member of Barack Obama’s cabinet, Clinton discussed what it was like watching “duly elected” officials get into office and weaponize the government—before dropping the Adolf Hitler buzzword, and Donald Trump’s name shortly thereafter. Here’s what she said, via The Hill:
‘You could see it in countries where, well, Hitler was duly elected, right?’ Clinton said. ‘And so all of a sudden somebody with those tendencies, so dictatorial authoritarian tendencies, would be like, OK, we’re going to shut this down.’
‘Trump is telling us what he intends to do,’ Clinton continued. ‘Take him at his word.’
Clinton also described a Trump victory in 2024 as “the end of our country as we know it.”
🤡 Clown moment #3: Journalist Sophie Gilbert’s piece in The Atlantic which asserted that another Trump presidency would be “four more years of unchecked misogyny” in which women would “once again” be prime targets for lecherous men. (I thought “gender” was a “social construct” though?) Gilbert’s article is actually just one installment of a series put out by the magazine; here’s the “Editor’s Note” at the beginning of the essay to give you an idea:
This article is part of ‘If Trump Wins,’ a project considering what Donald Trump might do if reelected in 2024.
Weirdly, Gilbert’s scope did not include names like Juanita Broaddrick, Tara Reade, Monica Lewinsky, or Ashley Biden, and she also failed to highlight on the sex scandals of Eric Adams, Andrew Cuomo, Democrat donors Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein, and Kevin Parker, just to name a few.
🤡 Clown moment #4: Bloomberg telling its readers not to panic… while spreading panic. See below:
Prospect of a Second Trump Term Demands Preparation, Not Panic
A new season of Trump-presidency panic is upon us. And for good reason: Donald Trump could be re-elected in 2024….
🤡 Clown moment #5: J.O.D. being hysterical and hyperbolic in the very Vanity Fair interview she claims to not be “selling hysteria.” If Trump were to win, that means a loss of “the thing that matters most” to her, which is as she says, “a future for my kids.” Her kids will have no future if Trump wins? Are they aspiring to be pedophiles or government bureaucrats? I should think not, and therefore, of course they have a future in America.
🤡 Clown moment #6: Biden repeating the “dictator on Day One” disinformation narrative. Again, this was a joke, in which Trump said he’d be a “dictator” by taking unilateral (executive) actions on his first day in office… to secure the border and open up domestic energy production. Gee, what a lunatic.
🤡 Clown moment #7: House Democrat Jared Moskowitz announcing that Trump “would start World War III” if given the opportunity. Newsflash buddy, we’re at the precipice now: Ukraine is fixing to join NATO, a development which Russia correctly views as hostile; Iran has ramped up its attacks against Israel; Europe is totally overrun with war-hardened migrants from sub-Saharan Africa; the U.S. has millions of unvetted foreigners (many of whom turn out to be convicted terrorists, murderers, and pedophiles) loose in the interior; the world reserve currency is rapidly losing its value because of D.C.’s spending habits; economic issues like inflation and cost-of-living crises are gutting a number of nations in the West; America’s college campuses are engulfed in violent riots; China’s aggressions have hit new highs; and when asked about highly-sensitive foreign affairs, leading political figures of the world’s number one superpower either mumble incoherently or shout “shrimp and grits” to reporters:

In contrast, Trump kept the world relatively peaceful, negotiating a historic deal between long-time enemy nations, and the U.S. dollar was strong—healthy and secure economies make for safe nations.

Half a century ago, dictionaries told the truth
By Randall Hoven
I recently discovered a relic from an ancient civilization, and in my own house! It was titled “Webster’s Third New International Dictionary”, unabridged, copyright 1976. I looked up a few selected definitions in that parchment to see what the benighted people of that time thought words meant. The results might astound.
Woman: A female human being – distinguished from man. An adult female human being – distinguished from girl.
Man: A member of the human race: a human being: person – usually used of males except in general or indefinite application with collective adjectives or in the plural.
Marriage: The state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife. The mutual relation of husband and wife: wedlock. The institution whereby men and women are joined in a special kind of social and legal dependence for the purpose of founding and maintaining a family.
Perversion: The action of perverting. The condition of being perverted. A perverted form of something; especially some form of sexual gratification (e.g., fellatio, exhibitionism) preferred to heterosexual coitus and habitually sought after as the primary or only form of sex gratification desired.
Pervert: One that has been perverted or that manifests or is given to some form of perversion, especially sexual.
Gay: Excited and merry. Bright and lively in appearance. First-class, fine, excellent. Given to social pleasures: inclined to the dissipations of society: licentious, loose. Of a woman: leading to an immoral life, especially engaging in prostitution… [Eighth definition]: Homosexual.
Transgender: [Not in the dictionary.]
Transexual: [Not in the dictionary.]
Socialism: Any of various theories or social and political movements advocating or aiming at collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and control of the distribution of goods.
Communism: Theory advocating elimination of private ownership of property or capital.
Capitalism: An economic system characterized by private or corporation ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision rather than by state control, and by prices, production and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly in a free market.

CNN reporter has dinner with Trump supporters, implies a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde dynamic
By Jack Hellner
On the surface, Trump supporters are “well-educated and successful” professionals, but underneath that veneer we’re monsters… who want to make America great again.
At least, that’s what Michelle Kosinksi thinks, because a first hand experience enjoying dinner with supporters of the president has left a permanent impression that will “haunt” her.
Here’s the story, from Fox News:
Ex-CNN reporter Michelle Kosinski wrote in a Sunday social media post that she was surprised by how ‘normal’ a group of ‘closeted’ Trump supporters seemed at a dinner she attended, which she said continues to ‘haunt’ her.
‘All were well-educated and successful in careers. They seemed great! On the surface. For like an hour. But slowly, over a few drinks, they began to let slip their true MAGA natures,’ Kosinski wrote.
Those of us who have been previously called as deplorable, irredeemable, racist, xenophobic, homophobic, transphobic, MAGAt, etc. believe “haunting” things like:
The Justice Department should be used to enforce laws instead of being used as a political arm of the Democrat party to illegally spy on and prosecute political opponents; it should also prosecute real criminals instead of targeting parents, Catholics, and MAGA supporters.
The Betsy Ross and Gadsden flags are not signs of domestic terrorism.
The DHS should enforce border laws instead of being used to facilitate the invasion of illegals from around the world to destroy our country.
The climate changes cyclically and naturally, and always will.
Unborn babies are people too.
Children from poor families shouldn’t be imprisoned by school boundaries so failing schools and bad teachers can keep their jobs; these kids should have the freedom of choice to go to better schools.
People should have the right to choose what kind of health insurance they buy.
It is better for the people to keep the money they earn, instead of the greedy government continually stealing it.
Capitalism is the system that allows the most people to move out of poverty, and off of the government plantation—this is good.
Women should not have to compete against men in sports, and they shouldn’t be forced to share private spaces with a person with a penis.
We should not fund Iran, which funds terrorists and has two goals: death to America, and death to Israel.
People have a right to medical freedom, and should not have been fired for declining to participate in clinical trials of a novel drug (Covid “vaccine”).
Children should not have been kept out of school, ignoring science and at the behest of powerful teachers unions.
People should have the freedom of choice on what kind of car and truck to drive.
Politicians and bureaucrats can’t control temperatures, sea levels, and storm activity.
China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, and other adversaries don’t care about their carbon footprint, even if they sign the worthless climate accord.
People who borrow student loans are responsible for paying back the loans, not the rest of us.
A president doesn’t have the dictatorial right to spend hundreds of billions paying off student loans to buy votes.
We should have DAs who keep career criminals in jail, not Soros-supported activists who aid and abet career criminals to harm society.
I know, really “haunting” right?
I have been out of the “closet” for a long time as a proud Trump supporter who wants to stop the intentional suicide of America and make America great again. The best way to help the poor and middle classes, minorities, and small businesses is to defeat these power hungry politicians who think the solution to everything is more regulations and higher taxes.
Vote Trump!

Making Parade Lemonade Out of Lemons, Trump-Style
By Robin M. Itzler
If there’s anything America First Patriots should have learned from following Donald Trump since he rode down the gold escalator in June 2015, it’s that he knows how to make lemonade out of lemons. Currently, his communist-kangaroo lawfare trial in New York City is filled with examples of how to find opportunity in adversity. He has held three mini-Trump rallies on the Democrat streets of Manhattan, with more to come:
Met Jose Alba at the convenience store where the bodega clerk stabbed an ex-con to death during a botched robbery. Alba was initially charged with murder by District Attorney Alvin Bragg—the same DA going after Trump in his lawfare trial. Bragg dropped the charges following the public outcry.
Cheers of “USA!” were loudly heard when Trump visited a Manhattan construction site. News reporters surveying workers, some of whom admitted voting Democrat in 2020, were very vocal (and colorful) in their condemnations of Joe Biden.
Trump delivered pizza to firemen at a Manhattan FDNY station. Among the applause, one firefighter is heard telling Trump, “You gotta win!”
Where Trump goes, the media goes. Where the media goes, Trump’s growing New York City supporters go. And the kangaroo trial, with the expected guilty verdict, looms like grayscale in the background. The more we learn from the trial, the more we know this case should never have seen the inside of a courtroom, much less the courtroom of biased Judge Juan Merchan.
Think of all the money that could have been saved if the jury found Trump guilty on day one, which is the left’s goal. Mayor Eric Adams could have given more freebies to illegal alien invaders!
Like Trump, America First Patriots must always find the upside in downside situations. Let me share a recent experience from the City of Orange in the People’s Republic of California.
There was a time when Orange County was the most conservative county in the entire United States, and California was deep red. Those days are long gone, but there are still some Republican districts throughout the state, although many lack conservative leadership. The City of Orange (which is in Orange County) is represented by Rep. Young Kim, who has a dismal 57 lifetime conservative score according to the reliable Freedom Index.
Orange holds an annual citywide parade each May. The tradition started in 1933 to give people something happy to enjoy during the Depression. With community participants—marching bands, drill teams, organizations, businesses, local elected officials, and community groups—thousands from all over the southland lined the streets of Historic Old Towne Orange to watch the one-mile parade that circled around the famous fountain.
The parade grew in popularity although it went dark during most of World War II. By the early 1990s, attendance started to dwindle. With the city no longer able to help fund the event, the parade was destined for the gravel pits of history. Sort of like South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem’s dog Cricket.
Then in 2019, after a 28-year absence, the Orange Chamber of Commerce brought the parade back. Of course, the “scamdemic” hit, and there was a lull again until 2022.
Founded in late 2021, Conservative Patriots of Orange County (CPOC) participated as a marching unit in the 2022 and 2023 parades. They sent their entry fee for this year’s May 4 parade with plans for a “Red, White, Blue and Trump” focus.
Patriotism and Trump in a parade with more than 100 entries—the chamber could not have that! Their rules had nothing to do with mandating that each entry keeps the Star Wars theme. For example, some participating marching units displayed karate skills or Mexican dancing.
We got lemons: The organizers announced that CPOC would not be allowed to participate if its members donned Trump gear and held signs promoting Donald Trump.
So, what did CPOC members do?
We made lemonade: On the day of the parade, 25+ CPOC members gathered wearing patriotic attire and carrying American and Trump flags and signs. We marched the entire parade route a half hour before the parade started. The streets were lined with people waiting for the parade to start and having nothing to watch—except us! Joyously waving our flags and signs to much applause and thumbs up (and a few thumbs down), we paraded the entire route, distributing information along the way.
When the parade officially started, we found a corner sidewalk location and enthusiastically watched the floats go by. Many participants let us know they also want to Make America Great Again.
But the best part was yet to come! Guess you can say this was the umbrella in our glass of delicious lemonade.
The last entry was a high school marching band. As it made its way through Historic Old Towne Orange on Chapman Avenue, there were four police motorcycles following to show the parade was officially over. And who marched behind the police motorcade?
All the Conservative Patriots of Orange County!
President Deborah Pauly led the way, proudly holding the large Trump 2024 flag. Members enthusiastically followed, waving their signs. Most attendees watching from the sidewalk might have assumed CPOC was part of the parade. We savored the cheers, applause, thumbs up, and shouts of “USA!”
“In true American spirit, CPOC was flexible and devised an alternative plan,” said Ms. Pauly. “We are thankful for the inspiration the restrictive rules supplied because we ended up with far greater exposure, walking the route twice and having more time to interact with spectators. Plus, all the other parade entrants got to see us waving our Trump flags. They would not have even known we were there otherwise.”
Looking at photos of the successful event, Ms. Pauly continued, “What the enemy meant for evil; God turned into good. We simply refused to be canceled or silenced, and it worked to the good of our purpose to project a positive Trump presence in this local parade.”
CPOC did what Donald Trump always does: made lemonade out of lemons. This is what all America First Patriots must do in these challenging times. Rather than be one of the 100+ entries, Conservative Patriots of Orange County shined by starting and finishing the 2024 Orange May Parade!

Progressivism and Pure Reason
By Brian Cabana
The conservative media sphere was collectively stirred by the recent claim of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, during oral arguments in Missouri vs. Biden, that restricting the government’s power to police social media for ‘misinformation’ -- the critical issue of the case -- would result in “The First Amendment hamstringing the government in significant ways.” Jackson continued, “I'm really worried about that because you've got the First Amendment operating in an environment of threatening circumstances from the government's perspective."
In unison the right fired back with what seems a self-evident refutation of Jackson’s position -- namely that restricting the power of government to tip the speech scales in favor of policies that agree with “the government’s perspective” is the entire point of the First Amendment
But such objections are of course not self-evident. They seem so within the cultural context of what might be called the Old Time American Religion -- the civic mythology in which the values of the Declaration of Independence are held to be sacred, the Founding Generation venerated, the Revolution told as a heroic epic, and so forth. But the current American elite progressive class -- of which Ms. Jackson is a preeminent avatar -- is simply not impressed with the Old Time Religion.
Indeed, the very designation of “progressive” elucidates how this class understands itself relative to this -- or any -- tradition. Progressivism views politics as an exercise in emancipation from tradition -- which is dismissed in toto as a mélange of superstitions and oppressions from a benighted past -- and towards a society of maximally free individuals -- liberated from the dead weight of religious injunctions -- whose autonomy is subjected only to those constraints that any and all rational agents would uphold as necessary for a functioning society, by common sense, or basic decency. Henceforth, this will be designated the Progressive Proposition.
It has long been the contention of “conservatives” -- really of non-progressives -- that such a project is incoherent, that “basic human reason” and “common sense” do not exist abstracted from particular metaphysical commitments; rather, it is people’s particular metaphysical commitments which materialize into what they perceive as their “basic human reason” and their “common sense.” Hence there can exist no rationally prescriptive, culturally neutral public space. External regulations, regardless of how permissive or restrictive they are, will always emanate and harmonize from some particular social ethos and conflict with others.
The vacuity of the presumption that any human has access to Pure Reason, unmediated by culture, is most vividly displayed when its exponents indulge it. Jackson blithely waves away 200 years of free speech jurisprudence with made-up government censorship prerogatives; her position ultimately boils down to “Free speech is good except when the government needs to control information.” Or consider this passage from the New York Times Magazine, on October 13, 2020, citing a “consortium of scholars” who argue that “perhaps our way of thinking about free speech is not the best way... Other democracies, in Europe and elsewhere, have taken a different approach. Despite more regulations on speech, these countries remain democratic; in fact, they have created better conditions for their citizenry to sort what’s true from what’s not.”
Two things are notable here; first, there in both cases, the speaker simply accepts, without hesitation, that a proper function of government is to sort truth from falsehood; second, there is an uncanny lack of any sort of grounding or justification for any point they are making. Both speakers are content to wallow in a morass of subjectivity, with no fixed standards, no signposts, no determinate reference regulating the restriction of speech.
This retreat to subjectivity is merely the other side of the coin of the Progressive Proposition. Jackson, being a progressive, is emancipated from having to exhibit any fealty to the core tenets and traditions of Civic Americanism; the progressive facade allows her the pretense of operating from Pure Reason alone. But being human, and thus lacking access to the Platonic Realm of Form, Ms. Jackson simply replaces the subjectivity of a particular cultural consciousness with the subjectivity of Ketanji Brown Jackson. The scope, limits, and function of the First Amendment hence no longer operate according to a publicly accessible tradition that reflects a cultural consciousness; they operate according to what Ms. Jackson feels is “reasonable.” If Ms. Jackson believes -- or better yet, views it as ‘Self-Evident’ -- that individuals are bovine creatures easily misled by purveyors of misinformation, and that the government in turn, consists of educated, vetted professionals like herself whose credentials signify superior discernment, then surely the rational limits of free speech should allow for this sort of curation. After all, no one is a free speech absolutist!
The point is not to dwell on Ms. Brown Jackson’s arrogance; she is merely an avatar of her class, which, as evinced by the referenced paged of the NYT Magazine, holds these sorts of views near-unanimously. The point is that no appeal to Pure Reason, or to universally discernible values, can adjudicate the discordance between a Jeffersonian and a ‘Jacksonian’ reading of the First Amendment. Both are committed to ‘Free Speech’ in their own way. The issue is the substance behind the principle. which does not lie within the text itself, but in the particular set of cultural aspirations and shared values that imbues the phrase “Free Speech” with any palpable meaning.
The social fact that there are at least two Americas, means in practice that there are at least two First Amendments. The classical civic American First Amendment is an expression of the cultural commitment to the individual’s right to form his own beliefs without interference from a government that is viewed as inherently corruptible, according to a tradition deriving from the Founding. The progressive First Amendment -- like everything else progressive -- is an exaltation to the superiority of the professional Elite Class and the benevolence of the government it controls; it views free speech as just another supervised amusement for the masses, for which the elites set up guardrails to prevent them from getting any untoward ideas.
As the progressive elite grows in power, it has come increasingly to rejoice in its own shared consciousness -- the consciousness of elites qua elites -- and increasingly abhors showing any sort of consideration for the civic American tradition. This class no longer needs to pretend that it is bound to the traditions it despises or the electorate it loathes. It appeals only to its own collective subjectivity as an Elite Class, to its own ever-shifting consensus positions, adherence to which is one of the few conditions to maintaining one’s good standing amongst said elite.
The irony has come full circle. The Progressive Proposition’s allure was its promise to free the individual from being ruled in accordance to arbitrary and alien authority structures and only bow before reason itself. Its end result was to subject everyone to the subjectivity of an arrogant ruling class that brooks no challenge to its vaunted position. Rather than emancipate the population from the injunctions of an angry God, progressivism emancipated the ruling class from the only check on its power, the constraints that the American civic tradition placed over its government, which are ultimately only enforced by a collective consciousness that is committed to this tradition.

12 Women Come Forward Alleging They Were Sexually Assaulted By Whoever Trump’s VP Pick Is
May 7, 2024 · BabylonBee.com
U.S. — A new wave of controversy erupted as 12 women came forward alleging they had been sexually assaulted by whoever Trump's vice presidential pick would end up being.
The damning allegations began to come in despite the fact that Trump has yet to officially name a running mate or even disclose whether the pick is a man or a woman. Sources confirmed at least a dozen highly credible accusers emerged to demand justice against whoever the VP candidate might be.
"Whoever the VP pick is, I am here to tell my story of how I was inappropriately touched by them," claimed one accuser. "As soon as Trump sees fit to announce who his running mate is, I'm going to positively identify him… or her. Whatever. No matter who he picks, they aren't going to get away with what they did. They must be held accountable!"
Other women quickly joined the ranks of accusers, suggesting Trump's eventual VP selection — no matter who it may end up being — has a long history of serious misconduct. "The person Trump picks as his running mate will not get away with the things we all know they did. Once he announces who it is, we'll know who to blame for what happened to all of us."
At publishing time, the DOJ had announced they would be charging Trump's VP pick with serious federal crimes, once they find out who it is.

Biden Condemns Antisemitism but Avoids Calling Out the Culprits
Everyone except the man in charge knows where the blame lies.
by Graham J Noble | May 8, 2024
On May 7, Joe Biden delivered a short speech at the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC, during an event commemorating the Nazi-led genocide of the 1930s and 1940s that claimed the lives of some six million Jews. Against a backdrop of violent demonstrations of antisemitism raging across American college campuses – under the guise of “antiwar” protests – the timing was most appropriate. However, the one thing that stood out from Biden’s address was his failure to directly call out the anti-Jewish agitators and the organizations behind the campus mayhem.
As he does in almost every public appearance these days, Biden looked frail and unsteady as he made his way to the podium, and his words were at times barely decipherable. During past speeches on various topics, the current White House occupant has not shied away from condemning specific individuals or groups when it suited him politically. Donald Trump has been his favorite target, of course – along with the former president’s supporters and those whom Biden likes to call “MAGA Republicans.”
Now, things are different. Trump and those aligned with him cannot be blamed this time – not even by stretching the truth or ignoring the facts. It is abundantly clear that the wave of rabid antisemitism spreading through the nation’s universities has been entirely planned, incited, and orchestrated by socialist and progressive groups.
One can only assume, then, that Biden deliberately chose to keep his condemnation of antisemitism very generic and unfocused. He could not – or would not – criticize the very people upon whom he will be relying, if he is to win a second White House term in November.
Apparently, Nobody to Blame for Antisemitism
After rightfully pinning on the terrorist group Hamas full responsibility for the horrors perpetrated against Israeli civilians during the terror attack on Oct. 7, 2023, Biden couldn’t manage to find anyone to blame for antisemitism. He railed against antisemitic propaganda on social media, anti-Jewish posters appearing on college campuses, and the harassment of Jewish students. And yet, he apparently has no idea who is responsible for it all.
“Too many people denying, downplaying, rationalizing, ignoring the horrors of the Holocaust,” Biden observed. But who are these people? Perhaps we may never know. It is one thing to take an unequivocal stand against antisemitism, but when one refuses to condemn the people and groups fueling it – even while knowing full well who they are – the bluster and the indignation ring hollow.
Biden’s Personal Holocaust Story
Another disturbing feature of almost every speech or interview Biden gives is his tendency, sooner or later, to make it about himself. True to form, he did the same thing at the Holocaust Museum. He told the story of Tom Lantos, a Hungarian Jew, born in 1928. After the Nazis invaded Hungary, Lantos, then 16 years old, was arrested and sent to a labor camp. After escaping the camp for the second time, Lantos began to work with Raoul Wallenberg, a Swedish diplomat who saved tens of thousands of Jews from the Nazis. After the war, he came to study in the United States, becoming a respected economist. Ironically a progressive Democrat, Lantos eventually got elected to Congress as a representative from California. He served 13 terms and died in 2008.
What’s the connection to Biden? “He came to New York City penniless – but determined to turn his pain into purpose – along with his wife, also a Holocaust survivor,” Biden recounted of Lantos. “He became a renowned economist and foreign policy thinker – eventually making his way to this very capital, on the staff of a first-term senator. That Jewish refugee was Tom Lantos, and that senator was me.”
Just like that – in an oblique and self-indulgent sort of way — Biden managed to insert himself into the story of the Holocaust. The inference was obvious: that he, Biden, had somehow made Lantos, the poor Jewish refugee, into the man he became. The true story is somewhat different. Though Biden deceptively implied that he brought Lantos to Washington, DC, the latter was a member of the Presidential Task Force on Defense and Foreign Policy a year before he became an aide to then-Sen. Biden, a position Lantos occupied for only one year.
The very fact that Biden will not name and shame those directly responsible for the raging antisemitism currently paralyzing the country’s most prominent – and, supposedly, most respected – educational institutions is another stain on his already tarnished presidency. It seems that America’s political left needs an intervention, or perhaps some kind of 12-step program. It is said that the first step in dealing with a problem is recognizing that one has a problem and taking ownership of it. The folks on the left do not appear willing to do that. Judging by his speech on the Holocaust and antisemitism, neither is Joe Biden.

The Biden Buyout of Democrat Defectors
The power of incumbency is all Biden has left.
by Tim Donner | May 8, 2024
Joe Biden has thrown just about everything but the kitchen sink at wary Americans as he seeks a second term in the White House, a prize he all but promised not to seek during the 2020 campaign: “I view myself as a bridge, not as anything else.” First, he tried a call for unity, a strategy that might have worked had he not subsequently dismissed half the country as semi-fascists. Conservatives maintain that he tried to sell “build back better” by drowning the nation in debt that triggered inflation and rendered this rebuilt life unaffordable for millions of Americans.
But then there was the fateful third wave in his bid for re-election, the one that has boomeranged as severely as any political strategy in modern times: his clarion call about the impending death of democracy should his opponent prevail, thus requiring extreme judicial intervention to avoid a clean, voter-driven outcome on Election Day. All of it played out against the cacophonous background music of Jan. 6, now mostly drowned out by protesters turning academia into a chaotic petri dish for anti-American, anti-Semitic extremists advocating for terrorism.
At the same time, we know Biden is incapable of winning over voters with his, shall we say, force of personality, a fact all but admitted by his own handlers this week in revealing that the president will be on a short leash for the remainder of the campaign. Truncated speeches on teleprompter and highly choreographed events, assuring less room for error and minimal interaction with voters or media, hardly suggest a campaign confident in its candidate.
Put it all together, and Biden finds himself in a position that was almost inconceivable in the aftermath of the Capitol riot, trailing Donald Trump in both the electoral and popular vote. So when all else fails, what is a president to do? Why, buy votes, of course.
Biden Opens the Cookie Jar
While incumbency has undoubtedly brought Biden low because of his dismal record in office compared to the grand promises of his basement campaign in 2020, it also offers lovely fringe benefits. A president can unilaterally make up or change fundamental policies, usually at taxpayer expense, for nakedly political purposes — as naked as siccing his Justice Department and progressive prosecutors on their mortal enemy, coincidentally the leading candidate for president, in a full-court press to bankrupt and imprison him. Is there anyone left — Republican, Democrat, or independent — who doesn’t see this for what it is?
New banner Memo - From the Desk of Senior Political Analyst Tim Donner 1However, since Trump’s poll numbers have risen rather than fallen under the weight of multi-jurisdictional malicious prosecutions, Biden must find votes elsewhere, so where can he go? Well, the most startling of all the president’s deficits is among those most responsible for his ascension to the White House: blacks, Hispanics, and the young. Trump has doubled his black vote since 2020 according to most polls. Most incredibly, he is tied with or leading among Hispanics — after attracting less than 40% of their support in 2020 — and among voters under the age of 30, who favored Biden over Trump by a whopping margin of almost 40 points in 2020 but are now abandoning the current president in droves with the onset of widespread campus unrest.
The first big Biden purchase paid for by taxpayers was widespread student debt relief. But wait, you say, he already tried that before and was turned back by the Supreme Court. True, but undaunted by a slap in the face by the High Court, Biden has come back for more — with altered parameters that will comply with the law, we are assured. The point is not to win the argument — he should by all accounts be turned aside again — but to impress young voters that he feels their pain. Of course, this also could backfire, given the young’s preoccupation with the Israel-Hamas war, as evidenced by Newsweek’s recent headline: “Biden’s Student Loan Forgiveness Rejected:
‘Not Buying My Vote.’”
But as TV hucksters are wont to say, wait, there’s more. If relieving student debt is not enough, then how about decriminalizing marijuana at the federal level or, more precisely, removing it from the same status under the law as hard drugs like heroin and LSD? It was an initiative long called for but never seriously addressed until the heart of a presidential election campaign. Another coincidence. But now Biden has curried favor, he believes, with young weed smokers, hoping their short-term memory loss won’t cause them to forget to vote.
But then there’s that thorny problem of the Hispanic vote. Patronizing Democrats believing their own hype about “comprehensive immigration reform” have long calculated that the great bulk of Latinos would reflexively support illegal immigration. They don’t. So now they must find something, anything to offer this crucial demographic group that is fleeing the Democratic Party. And so we suddenly see DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) back in the headlines, with Biden offering free healthcare to these much-ballyhooed descendants of illegal immigrants.
Biden is trying to depict himself as Old Uncle Joe, the kindly grandfather at Thanksgiving who slips you a flask under the table. And rest assured that going easy on weed, forgiving legitimate student debt, and offering more “free” healthcare to immigrants will hardly be the end of it. Biden and his team have six more months to figure out new ways to flex their incumbency muscles and provide any number of incentives to wavering groups. At this point, like Barack Obama after losing control of Congress in 2014, he is limited to his pen and his phone. Will that be enough to save his presidency?
Doug Burgum probably had the best idea for nakedly buying votes. The North Dakota governor, briefly a candidate in the GOP presidential primary, promised that, in return for just a $1 contribution that would help him qualify for a primary debate, he would send back a $20 gift card. Nice work if you can get it. And at this point, it may be one of the few options remaining for a president with his hand deep in the cookie jar.

Trump Wins Calendar Victory in Classified Documents Case
Donald Trump beat the clock with one Biden/Garland prosecution.
by Scott D. Cosenza, Esq. | May 8, 2024
Donald Trump will not have to stand trial on federal charges over classified documents before the November elections. United States District Judge Aileen Cannon issued an order Tuesday afternoon, May 7, resetting the court calendar in the case. Cannon, a Trump appointee, had initially set trial commencement for May 20. The judge wrote that she would not set a new trial date until significant pretrial matters are decided, likely in late July. The ruling effectively pushes whatever new trial date is issued past Election Day, November 5.
Sentence First, Verdict Afterward
The ruling is a massive defeat for the Department of Justice’s case against Donald Trump in advance of the presidential election. Would-be Trump-slayer Jack Smith – specially selected for that very purpose – petitioned Cannon in February for a trial date of July 8. Smith’s proposal did not set forth a briefing schedule for all the many pretrial arguments, rulings, and requirements. Instead, he started with the July trial date and suggested the court work backward from there.
Judge Cannon’s ruling starts with what comes next; the pretrial business. She wrote:
“The Court also determines that finalization of a trial date at this juncture – before resolution of the myriad and interconnected pretrial and CIPA [Classified Information Procedures Act] issues remaining and forthcoming – would be imprudent and inconsistent with the Court’s duty to fully and fairly consider the various pending pretrial motions before the Court, critical CIPA issues, and additional pretrial and trial preparations necessary to present this case to a jury.”
The DOJ seemed particularly interested in fast-tracking the criminal charges against Trump. The former president argues the extraordinary charges are designed to hobble his chances of returning to the White House. Prosecutors recently admitted to Cannon, Trump, and other defendants that they didn’t preserve the evidence boxes in the manner they represented to the court. They have mixed up some of the papers instead of maintaining the contents of boxes in the order in which they were seized in the raid on Mar-a-Lago. How to treat that issue is one of many Cannon will have to decide in the coming months.
Ethical Lapses In “Getting” Trump
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan launched an investigation of Special Prosecutor Smith on May 6. He gave the DOJ a May 20 deadline to schedule a briefing and deliver documents regarding the ethical improprieties revealed in this case. Mr. Trump’s counsel sent a letter to senior DOJ chiefs claiming prosecutors engaged in a “pattern of inaccurate claims regarding the status and substance of discovery” and that “it is now clear that even the most fundamental premise of the criminal justice process does not apply in this case.”
New banner Legal Affairs with ScottLast month, Donald Trump posted a screed to social media about Jack Smith, calling him “deranged” and the classified documents case a “FAKE Documents Hoax case in Florida.”
With this case being pushed past Election Day, should the former president win another term, he will almost certainly direct the Department of Justice to drop the matter entirely. He could also choose to issue himself a pardon. Other cases against Trump are also racing against the clock. The election interference case – also led by Jack Smith – is on hold until the Supreme Court makes its ruling on presidential immunity. The Georgia case against Trump now seems likely to miss its proposed trial start date due to hearings over Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ affair with her lead prosecutor. As of now, the ongoing NYC-based prosecution of Trump for an alleged “hush money” payment to former porn star Stormy Daniels is the only case that seems likely to be decided before November.

AstraZeneca Begins Worldwide Withdrawal of COVID-19 Vaccine
By Caden Pearson
May 8, 2024
AstraZeneca has commenced a global withdrawal of its COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday, citing a “surplus” of updated jabs for new variants, months after acknowledging its rare risk of serious side effects.
The pharmaceutical giant’s jab, Vaxzevria, is no longer authorized in the European Union as of May 7, after AstraZeneca requested the withdrawal of its “marketing authorization” on March 5.
The removal of its authorization comes just weeks after the company admitted in a UK court document that its shot “can, in very rare cases, cause” blood clots and low platelets, a rare but serious condition known as thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TSS). The company had originally denied a causal link.
However, AstraZeneca did not cite the admission as contributing to its decision. Instead, it stated that there was now an “oversupply of updated vaccines” that target new variants of the virus that causes COVID-19.
UK Class Action
Vaxzevria, a viral vector-based vaccine, was initially authorized for use in the European Union in January 2021.
The European withdrawal follows a similar removal of AstraZeneca’s vaccine from the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods weeks ago, on April 23.
The removal in Australia was attributed to a “business decision of the company, due to no current or anticipated future demand of the vaccine, and follows similar business decisions made overseas.”
Australia changed its official COVID-19 immunization recommendation for certain age groups from AstraZeneca’s vaccine to an alternative jab in 2021 based on evidence of linked cases of TSS.
AstraZeneca’s admission, which was revealed in a UK high court document from February that was made public in late April, came to light through a lengthy class action legal battle in the United Kingdom.
That case involved claims of dozens of injuries and deaths in the United Kingdom allegedly caused by AstraZeneca’s vaccine. More than 50 people have sued the company, along with the vaccine manufacturer, the Serum Institute of India, for compensation over claims of vaccine injuries.
AstraZeneca has denied the claims but conceded the risk of TTS.
Should the pharmaceutical giant be found liable, UK taxpayers would need to foot the bill for any settlement in the case due to an agreement with the UK government.
The AstraZeneca vaccine had previously been temporarily suspended in European countries following reports of a death attributed to the vaccine in the Netherlands and adverse effects elsewhere.
Cases have been confirmed in Australia as well, including one involving an actress who sued AstraZeneca after being diagnosed with vaccine-induced TTS, which led to a life-threatening stroke, leaving her unable to work within weeks of receiving the company’s vaccine.
According to the European Medicines Agency, Vaxzevria does not contain the COVID-19 virus itself but is made up of another virus of the adenovirus family modified to contain the gene for making a protein from SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
Though generally deemed safe and effective, TTS was reported to affect about two to three people per 100,000 people vaccinated with the Vaxzevria vaccine.
Some research has linked COVID-19 viral vector-based vaccines, such as Vaxzevria, to an increased risk of Guillain-Barré syndrome by three to four times compared to mRNA-based vaccines.
AstraZeneca did not immediately respond to a request for comment when contacted via phone and email by The Epoch Times.

Wednesday's Energy Absurdity: About that Giant Wind Blade Graveyard in Sweetwater...
David Blackmon
May 08, 2024
Old windfarm blades causing problems in Nolan County
Many readers here will remember the stories that broke last September about the enormous wind blade graveyard occupying acres of land on the periphery of Sweetwater, Texas. Russell Gold wrote an excellent expose’ in Texas Monthly about the junkyard, one of many that have popped up across West Texas and the Texas Panhandle in recent years as the wind developers avoid investing any real money in properly disposing of their massive amount of waste.
The story was picked up by other outlets across the country. Robert Bryce travelled to Sweetwater and recorded some social media videos featuring the junkyard. Gold himself quoted the head of the Global Fiberglass Solutions, which has the contract from the wind developer to collect and “recycle” the blades, as promising, “If you come back nine months from now, you will not see the material.”
So, Gold waited nine months, and recently travelled back to Sweetwater to view what he had been promised would be an empty wind blade graveyard.
Guess what? The graveyard isn’t empty, not at all. All the same blades that were in place there nine months ago remain, with still more piled atop them. In his follow-up story at Texas Monthly, Gold reports no activity taking place at the junkyard, which has all the appearances of having been abandoned.
Indeed, Gold writes in the excerpt below that GFS may well be out of money now, having apparently squandered the $16.9 million in funds paid to it by developer General Electric:
GFS may be out of the funds it would need to begin grinding up the blades. Last September, General Electric filed a lawsuit claiming it had paid GFS $16.9 million to recycle about five thousand blades, which the company instead stockpiled in Sweetwater and Iowa. GFS took the money and the blades and then “all but shut down,” according to the complaint. GFS has asked for an extension because it can’t hire a lawyer. “GFS has not been able to raise sufficient funds to convince counsel that they will get paid for their work,” company cofounder Ron Albrecht said in a court filing in January. General Electric expects to file for a default judgment later in May.
…
There can’t be any new products fashioned from the material in Sweetwater until someone takes ownership of the problem that GFS has apparently abandoned. The State of Texas could take charge, but its wheels of justice are turning much more slowly than Iowa’s. In late 2022, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality fined GFS $10,255 and gave it a year to obtain a permit to store industrial solid waste. That year lapsed in November, and the company never finished paying the fine.
[End]
There’s a lot more to this story, and I highly recommend you reading it in full.
The bottom line here, of course, is this: These big industrial wind developments are a menace, and Texas has not bothered to implement strong laws and regulations needed to mandate the proper retirement and disposal of the massive amount of industrial junk they create.
Is this growing problem a product of irresponsible, grifting developers? Of course, it is. But it is also a problem of irresponsible policymakers who are happy to take money from wind developers to fund their campaigns and look the other way as they fail, session after session, to enact proper laws and regulations to force the cleaning up of these scars on the landscape.
Until the Texas government forces the issue, Mr. Gold will be able to keep writing follow-ups to this story. That’s reality.
That is all.

Broken Record
An open letter to Western politicians on Russia.
Doomberg
May 08, 2024
“We made too many wrong mistakes.” – Yogi Berra
On July 19, 2022, a group of economics professors from Yale University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Warsaw School of Economics self-published a 118-page, non-peer-reviewed article titled “Business Retreats and Sanctions Are Crippling the Russian Economy.” Formatted to give the appearance of a rigorous academic study that one might find in a prestigious journal, the authors painted a dim picture of life in Russia in the aftermath of President Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
According to their analysis, Russia “deals from a position of weakness” in the commodities sector, “Russian imports have largely collapsed,” and “Russia has lost companies representing ~40% of its GDP.” It also claimed that Putin holds “delusions of self-sufficiency and import substitution” and “is resorting to patently unsustainable, dramatic fiscal and monetary intervention to smooth over these structural economic weaknesses.” The final two paragraphs of the abstract hammer home the official adjudication of this pedigreed ensemble, leaving little room for further debate and not so subtly calling into question the patriotism of those who might hold different ideas about how best to execute the economic aspects of the war (emphasis added throughout):
“Looking ahead, there is no path out of economic oblivion for Russia as long as the allied countries remain unified in maintaining and increasing sanctions pressure against Russia, and The Kyiv School of Economics and McFaul-Yermak Working Group have led the way in proposing additional sanctions measures.
Defeatist headlines arguing that Russia’s economy has bounced back are simply not factual – the facts are that, by any metric and on any level, the Russian economy is reeling, and now is not the time to step on the brakes.”
Published at a time when serious flaws in the West’s sanctions strategy were becoming obvious, the article caused quite the stir. In a happy coincidence, the lead author of the study was none other than Yale’s Jeff Sonnenfeld, a media-savvy CNBC regular best known for his work as an executive coach to high-profile CEOs who also enjoy going on CNBC. Sonnenfeld saturated the airways, claiming that early indications of Russia’s resilience were mere proof of the need to double and triple down.
In the weeks before Sonnenfeld suddenly emerged as an expert on Russian domestic economics and international trade, we published an article titled “Crazy Pills” in which we contended that sanctions against Russia would not just fail, but backfire. Our core argument—which required distinctly less than 118 pages to articulate—was simple. Attempts to sanction the volume of commodity exports flowing out of Russia would only serve to drive up their price, leading to more revenue for Putin, not less. Two key excerpts:
“Russia’s energy is going to find its way to the market, and, as perverse as it might sound, we should want it to. Instead of attacking the supply of Putin's energy, we should be doing everything in our power to increase ours. That is the only way to lower prices and materially impact the funding of his war machine. For highly inelastic products like oil and natural gas, price action works both ways. It does not take significant undersupply for prices to skyrocket, nor does it take significant oversupply for prices to crash…
If oil were $20 a barrel today, would that help or hurt Putin? The answer is self-evident and yet lost on our leaders, and we’re running out of crazy pills.”
We published two other articles on the subject in the ensuing months that further explained why things were not going to plan and emphasized the need for course correction. During various podcast appearances, we also pointed out how dangerously naïve it is to assume that the West holds such vast technological advantage over Russia and its friends that the contributions of Western companies to the Russian economy could not be readily replaced.
Two years later, the data are in, and virtually nothing predicted in the Sonnenfeld study has come to pass. Commodities continue to be a source of outsized profits for the Putin regime. The Russian economy is booming while Europe battles recession and Ukraine nears collapse on the battlefield—in large part because Russia produces vastly more weapons than the West can supply. Russian imports have been replaced by members of the Global South, especially China. China and Russia have gotten so chummy on trade that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken flew to Beijing and threatened to sanction the country just last week. The Chinese sent him packing, all but daring him to do something about it.
The “lost companies” that represented “~40% of its GDP” merely sold their businesses to new Russian owners on their way out of the country—often at pennies on the dollar—and those businesses quickly reopened under local management. Starbucks is now “Stars Coffee” and McDonald’s is now “Vkusno i tochka,” and both menus are virtually indistinguishable from their pre-war predecessors. The sanctions simply forced a change in the equity stack of the grand Russian capital table, and in Russia's favor at that.
Putin also decreed that domestic companies no longer need to respect the intellectual property rights of so-called “unfriendly nations.” With a stroke of the pen, all manner of patented inventions—described such that anyone skilled in the art could easily replicate them—became fair game for Russian businesses to exploit without remuneration, helping domestic manufacturers leapfrog ahead in economic development.
And on it goes.
As testimony to the utter failure of the West’s efforts to punish Putin economically, consider the bizarre article that appeared in the Financial Times last week. Circularly titled “Russia’s new economy may end up prolonging its war,” the piece—written by someone currently employed by an economics think tank in Kyiv—is practically indistinguishable from parody:
“The Russian economy’s increasingly structural militarisation significantly complicates any efforts to end the war in Ukraine. Contrary to the expectations that economic constraints would hinder Russia’s capacity to sustain fighting, the spectre of economic collapse might push Vladimir Putin and his officials to double down on militarisation and seek further confrontation, even if aggression against Ukraine hits a standstill.
Russia's economy grew by 3.6 per cent in 2023 and is projected to expand by over 3 per cent in 2024. Despite ongoing extensive sanctions and export controls, which are expected to hinder investment and potential growth in the long term, Russian authorities have praised themselves for their short-term success in avoiding a deep recession in 2022 and achieving subsequent strong growth.
Much of this success relies on the expansion of the military-industrial complex. The delayed and imperfect introduction of the oil price cap has enabled Russia to bolster fiscal revenues and use them to stimulate the domestic economy. While export controls impede Russia’s military production and make it more expensive, they have not yet resulted in decisive choke points or disruptions in supply chains.”
How did we get here? The answer is simple. Western political leaders have no earthly idea how commodity markets work and vastly underestimate the technical prowess of their adversaries. It is long past time to address both. It might be too late to win the war, but there is still time to impact the resulting peace. Consider these simple proposals:
The Western powers should coordinate and flood the world with commodities to crash global prices, thus devastating the Russian economy in ways sanctions never could. President Biden should temporarily tame or ignore the environmental wing of his progressive coalition and work directly with the fossil fuel industry to radically increase domestic production of oil, gas, and coal. Exports should be facilitated, permits fast-tracked, and excessive environmental regulations swept aside. The US government should incentivize the fossil fuel industry by covering for any losses incurred. Does Biden want to win the war or curry favor with the Sierra Club? He can’t do both, and the time for choosing has arrived.
Two global commodity giants—Canada and Australia—should be leaned on to do the same. The Netherlands should be encouraged to reopen the enormous Groningen natural gas field, and the Germans to restart their mothballed nuclear reactors. The West might lack enough artillery shells, but it has a vast capacity to produce BTUs.
Similarly, rather than impede Russian production and exports, the West should be doing everything in its power to push every fossil fuel molecule that Putin produces to market as seamlessly as possible. Heck, the US military could escort tankers carrying Russian crude! Instead of trying to sanction Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) production, Biden should be encouraging the Russians to operate their export terminals at full capacity.
Venezuela and Iran should receive the same treatment. Sanctions should be lifted and production encouraged. If there’s oil or gas or coal in the ground somewhere in the world, get it to market as quickly as possible.
Let’s test how long the Russian economy can withstand $10 a barrel crude and $1 a million BTU LNG prices. Let’s test how disciplined OPEC would be in the face of collapsing prices. Let’s test whether the Saudis would continue to spurn senior US diplomats in the way they do now. This is how to regain the upper hand with Putin.
The best time to have implemented this strategy was two years ago when this publication first suggested it. The next best time is today.

Certain Teas May Inactivate COVID-19 Virus, Lab Study Finds

A cup of tea could be a powerful weapon in the fight against COVID-19, according to a new study that found that several common varieties can effectively inactivate the SARS-CoV-2 virus in saliva.
The research offers a glimmer of hope that something as simple as your morning brew could help curb the spread of the pandemic virus.
Popular Teas Found to Drastically Reduce SARS-CoV-2 Levels in Just Seconds
Researchers studied 24 commercially available teas and identified five that significantly reduced SARS-CoV-2 levels in saliva. These were raspberry zinger, eucalyptus mint, mint medley, green tea, and black tea.
The team prepared a drinkable tea infusion using one tea bag steeped in a cup of water for 10 minutes, without any additions such as milk or sugar. They then tested each tea either as a beverage or as a gargle.
The findings, published in Food and Environmental Virology, showed that all five tea varieties reduced the amount of the virus by at least 96 percent within just 10 seconds when used in the mouth and throat. When gargled, the teas were even more effective, eliminating 99.9 percent of the virus in the same timeframe.
Black tea proved the most potent. This matters because COVID-19 primarily infects and replicates in the oral cavity before spreading to the lungs, according to the study authors.
“Inactivating SARS-CoV-2 in the mouth and throat potentially reduces the introduction of the virus to the lower respiratory system,” Malak Esseili, a virologist with the University of Georgia Center for Food Safety in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, said in a statement.
Tea is not a replacement for medical care, and clinical trials are still needed to fully assess its effect on COVID-19 patients, Ms. Esseili said. The study was conducted using cell cultures, not human participants.
Study Adds to Growing Body of Research on COVID-Killing Potential of Oral Rinses
In a 2021 study, published in Pathogens, researchers found that two types of mouthwash could disrupt the COVID-19 virus under laboratory conditions, preventing it from replicating in human cells.
Specifically, the researchers determined that Listerine and a prescription mouthwash containing chlorhexidine could disrupt the virus within seconds when diluted to concentrations mimicking actual usage.
Two other types of mouthwashes—Betadine, which contains povidone-iodine, and Colgate Peroxyl, which contains hydrogen peroxide—were also found to potentially be effective at preventing viral transmission.
However, only Listerine and chlorhexidine were able to effectively disrupt SARS-CoV-2 while having minimal effects on the delicate skin cells inside the mouth that form a protective barrier against infection.
“Both Povidone-iodine and Peroxal caused significant skin cell death in our studies, while both Listerine and Chlorhexidine had minimal skin-cell killing at concentrations that simulated what would be found in daily use,” Daniel H. Fine, chair of the school’s Department of Oral Biology and the study’s senior author, said in a press release at the time.
Building on these findings, a recent double-blind, controlled trial, published in 2023 in Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, found that COVID-positive patients who gargled and performed nasal rinsing with a simple warm saltwater solution four times daily for 14 days experienced significantly lower hospitalization rates than a control group.
Lab Results Don’t Always Translate Into Real-World Benefits: Expert
Laboratory findings don’t always translate to real-world benefits.
“There are lots of times that we will test something in the petri dish and it looks fantastic,” Dr. Sharon Nachman, chief of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, told The Epoch Times
The fact that something kills a microbe in the lab doesn’t mean it will be effective in a patient, she said. While test results may show a substance killing bacteria, viruses, or fungi, sometimes an equivalent dose in a human is toxic, it doesn’t stay in the right space long enough, or other problems arise, she said.
An issue with the tea study is that it didn’t replicate how quickly tea passes through the mouth, Dr. Nachman noted. “It’s in your mouth for nanoseconds,” she said. “In the lab, they put the tea in with the virus and it sat there and it could continue to act for more than microseconds, which is quite different than your mouth.”
COVID-19 infects the nose and lungs, not just the mouth. “Even a single cough is going to throw out much more virus than would be killed in the mouth by gargling for 20 minutes,” Dr. Nachman said.
So although a hot drink such as tea may provide some benefits, “whether it will actually get you healthier faster or cut down on how much virus you’re transmitting, that’s a little bit on the iffy side,” she said.
Freemasons and the Illuminati NEW WORLD ORDER
Freemasons and the Illuminati are the same.
Who controls the world? You may have heard of “the Illuminati”,
which is associated with conspiracy theorists.
Secret societies are real and very dangerous; they want you to believe they don’t exist and will do anything to protect their secrets.
Freemasons have been around for generations and will have you believe they are about love and helping humanity, but the the opposite is true.

Thanks for bringing up the fact that 2/3 of sex scandals in our nations political history are conservatives at fault. Your last president even has been found liable for a rape. So directing attention to an immigrant who did something horrible does not change the fact that guys like matt gaetz and cawthorne should have been pilloried by their own, but republicans protect their criminals. Most of the time, democrats police their own and get rid of pedos and rapists, unlike your sad, failing party.
Jackie Lacey, 1st Black L.A. D.A., Backs Nathan Hochman over George Gascón
JOEL B. POLLAK 7 May 2024 3:58
Jackie Lacey, the first black and first female Los Angeles County District Attorney (DA), who was defeated by George Soros-backed George Gascón in 2020, has endorsed challenger Nathan Hochman in the 2024 race for D.A.
The Hochman campaign released a statement Monday:
Jackie Lacey, a lifelong Democrat and the first woman and first African-American to serve as District Attorney of Los Angeles County, announced today that she is endorsing Nathan Hochman for District Attorney.
She said D.A. George Gascon has emboldened criminals and caused an increase in crime by failing to properly enforce the law.
“We must have leadership at the District Attorney’s Office that understands its mission is to seek justice by, among other things, sending a message that criminal behavior is unacceptable in our county. We don’t have that with the current District Attorney,” Lacey said. “Criminals are more brazen because they know they have allies embedded in that office. They know the office policies better than we do. It is time to elect someone who will be proactive at making us safer.”
Lacey, who served as Los Angeles County District Attorney from 2012 to 2020, said she supports Hochman because of his decades of criminal justice experience, as both a prosecutor and defense attorney, and the fact that he will strive every day to improve public safety.
“I am endorsing Nathan Hochman for District Attorney because I feel a lot less safe than I did four years ago,” Lacey said. “It’s time to thank and excuse the current district attorney and elect someone with a conscience. Please join me and vote for Nathan Hochman for District Attorney.”
Hochman, who has served as a federal prosecutor, U.S. Assistant Attorney General overseeing the DOJ’s Tax Division, President of the L.A. City Ethics Commission and as a defense attorney, said he is extremely grateful for Lacey’s support. He previously was endorsed by Steve Cooley, who served three terms as District Attorney, and the Association of Deputy District Attorneys, the union that represents L.A. County prosecutors.
“Jackie’s endorsement is extremely meaningful to me and I am so thankful that she supports my campaign for District Attorney,” Hochman said. “She was an exceptional District Attorney who served 34 years with the office, striving every day to pursue justice on behalf of the people of Los Angeles County, where she was born and raised.”
Lacey was targeted by the Black Lives Matter movement. Her husband was charged with a misdemeanor firearms violation when he brought a gun to the door of the family home as he urged Black Lives Matter protesters to leave.
The charges were later dismissed. However, Gascón won the 2020 election, thanks to millions of dollars in spending by Soros and a rush of endorsements by California Democrats — including a reversal by then-L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, who had originally endorsed Lacey but then reversed himself once the Black Lives Matter riots, and the Soros millions, appeared to change his mind.
Gascón has faced two recall attempts, the last of which fell just short after county workers claimed to have found invalid signatures on the recall petition. He is blamed for a crime wave, as he has prioritized criminal justice “reform.”

Trump Skips Barron's Graduation for MN Event
In a surprising turn of events, Trump has decided to skip his son Barron's high school graduation on May 17th to attend a political event in Minnesota. This decision has sparked controversy and disappointment among his supporters, especially after Trump had previously expressed his disappointment over potentially missing the graduation due to a court appearance. The Minnesota GOP announced that Trump will be the keynote speaker at their Lincoln Day dinner on the same night as Barron's graduation, leading to speculation about Trump's priorities and the sincerity of his earlier complaints. The incident has left many questioning Trump's commitment to his family and his political ambitions, with some social media users expressing their disappointment and others finding humor in the situation.
I already pointed out this was a lie.

Immigration experts warn possible Biden plan to import Gazan refugees would be ‘national security disaster’
May 5, 2024 | Jason Hopkins |
Immigration experts are warning that a reported Biden administration plan to import Palestinians as refugees would pose a unique threat to the United States.
Internal federal government documents leaked to the media on Tuesday indicated that the Biden White House is considering options on how to provide permanent safe haven to Palestinians living in war-torn Gaza. While no official plan has been announced or implemented, many in the government and immigration field have sounded the alarm on the potential consequences of such a move.
Experts who spoke to the Daily Caller News Foundation framed the reported plan as contrary to the country’s interests, warned of the risks of importing poorly-vetted foreign nationals with potential terror ties, and encouraged the Biden administration to instead relocate these refugees to a nearby region within the Middle East.
“This is an absurd plan that places woke ideology above the public safety and national security concerns of American citizens,” Matt O’Brien, director of investigations for the Immigration Reform Law Institute, told the DCNF.
O’Brien noted that Hamas is no longer just a designated terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip, but the official government of the enclave: “That means an inordinate number of Gazans are going to have direct ties to Hamas — because they voted it into power — and it will be impossible to vet them because we can’t trust records compiled by their chosen government,” he said.
“The smarter thing to do would be to arrange for a third country in the Middle East to provide temporary refuge to any Gazans who are allegedly in need of protection,” he continued. “But allowing Gazans into the U.S. in large numbers will only set America up for a large-scale national security disaster.”
Congressional leaders have also noted the ideological extremism in the Gazan population, and what that could mean for everyday Americans if they are welcomed here en masse.
Iowa GOP Sen. Joni Ernst led a delegation of 34 Republican senators earlier this week in demanding President Joe Biden stop his purported plan. In their letter to the president, the senators noted the incredibly high number of Gazans currently supporting Hamas and how, because of the numerous logistical hurdles that come with importing migrants from a war-torn region halfway around the world, it would be nearly impossible to conduct proper vetting of all of them.
“We are confused as to why the United States is willing to accept Gazan refugees when even nearby Arab countries supportive of the Palestinian cause refuse to take them in due to security concerns,” the senators wrote.
Their letter demanded answers on how many Gazans the administration wants to accept and how exactly applicants will be screened to ensure no one with terrorist sympathies is allowed into the U.S.
If polling in the region is accurate, the American government will have a difficult time weeding out those who have extremist ties.
A survey released by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Research in March found that 71% of Palestinians supported Hamas’ Oct. 7 massacre of Israeli civilians. A mere 5% of the Palestinians surveyed said they believed the Oct. 7 attack to be a war crime.
Polls conducted in months past also indicated a rise in support for Hamas among the Gazan population after the Oct. 7 massacre.
“Every American should be deeply concerned about reports that the Biden administration is planning on implementing a program to bring Gazans into the United States,” Eric Ruark, director of research and public relations for NumbersUSA, stated to the DCNF.
Ruark echoed calls to relocate Gazans displaced by the fighting to a nearby region, in lieu of using the crisis as another way to bring more foreign nationals permanently into the U.S. He predicted that the administration would make a humanitarian argument in favor of relocating Gazans to the U.S., but added that the White House’s border policies made it clear that “humanitarianism is the least of its priorities.”
Egypt has long maintained security measures to keep Gazans from entering the Sinai, including a concrete wall topped with concertina wire and military personnel at the Rafah border.
It remains to be seen how exactly the Biden administration would go about bringing the Gazan refugees over. The Department of Homeland Security did not respond to a request for comment from the DCNF.
One proposal involves implementing the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program to accept those with American ties and already have escaped into Egypt, according to government documents reviewed by CBS News. Top administration officials have also reportedly discussed processing Gazans as refugees if they have American relatives.
The Palestinians who pass a slate of security, medical, and eligibility screenings would qualify for refugee status, which can then offer them permanent residency, resettlement benefits, and a pathway to U.S. citizenship.
All the logistics that come with such strategies, however, would require coordination and cooperation with Egypt, a bordering Arab country that has so far remained vehemently opposed to accepting a large number of Gazans — a detail that isn’t lost on critics of the Biden administration’s plan.
“Egypt and other Arab countries are refusing to take in Palestinian refugees from Gaza,” RJ Hauman, president of the National Immigration Center for Enforcement (NICE), said in a statement to the DCNF. “Instead of recognizing why that is and acting in our national interest, Biden wants to ramp up the dangerous trend of bringing in unvetted and potentially dangerous individuals who hate us.”

REPORT: Soros-Linked Dems Pay Over $500K to Judge Merchan’s Daughter’s Firm.
Alex Soros, the son and chosen successor of billionaire plutocrat George Soros, met with Arizona Governor Gretchen Whitmer and various Arizona Democrats after Whitmer’s political action committee (PAC) and the Arizona Democratic Party contracted Authentic Campaigns as a vendor, according to investigative reporter Laura Loomer. Loren Merchan, the daughter of New York judge Juan Merchan, overseeing Donald Trump’s prosecution by Democrat District Attorney (DA) Alvin Bragg, is the president and a partner of Authentic Campaigns.
Alex Soros, who has visited Joe Biden’s White House at least 20 times, reportedly held the meetings amid Trump’s trial under Merchan. Loren Merchan’s firm has also worked for Vice President Kamala Harris and Russia hoaxer Adam Schiff. She is further linked to the Democrat Democrat Attorney’s General Association (DAGA).
Authentic Campaigns has been paid $412,000 by Whitmer PAC ‘Fight Like Hell’ and almost $160,000 by the Arizona Democratic Party.
Juan Merchan, a Biden donor, has faced calls to recuse himself over his familial links to the Democratic government. However, he has refused, and imposed a gag order banning Trump from discussing his family members.
Soros, the current partner of ex-Clinton aide Huma Abedin, met with Arizona Democrats including Whitmer and Senator Mark Kelly, and Cindy McCain, who served Joe Biden as a United Nations (UN) envoy.
“It’s obvious to everyone that there is coordination between the Democrat’s lawfare campaign against Trump, and the Soros family,” Loomer commented.
George Soros funded Alvin Bragg’s campaign for DA via the Color of Change group, which bankrolls many progressive prosecutors.

BREAKING: Rashida Tlaib demands ICC issue arrested warrant for Israeli PM Netanyahu
May. 7, 2024 11:21 am by The Right Scoop
The despicable Democrat from Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib, is demanding that the anti-Israel prosecutor at the International Criminal Court issue an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and senior Israeli officials for ‘genocide’.
Here’s more from Politico:
Rep. Rashida Tlaib, the first Palestinian American woman to serve in Congress, is demanding the International Criminal Court issue an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
She made the demand in a statement Tuesday, as Democrats are grappling with deep intra-party divisions over the state of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas and the IDF began carrying out military operations in Rafah, a major city in Gaza.
“There is nowhere safe in Gaza,” Tlaib said in a statement. “I urge the ICC to swiftly issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu and senior Israeli officials to finally hold them accountable for this genocide.”
This is the same woman who released a statement attacking Israel for ‘apartheid’ and ‘occupation’ on the day after the horrific and barbaric slaughter of Jewish civilians by Hamas, where tiny babies were beheaded and cooked in ovens.
This is the same woman who refused to condemn Hamas and was later censured for using the phrase “From the river to the sea” and then claiming it meant ‘peaceful coexistence’.
Now she is claiming Israel is guilty of ‘genocide’, but that is just another malicious lie for which there is absolutely no evidence.
Tlaib and Omar should be kicked out of Congress for supporting Hamas, because everything they are saying is nothing more than Hamas propaganda.

It is Your Economy .. yours, mine, our family, friends and neighbors -- EVERYONE to some degree is touched by the markets and their behavior. So we should be aware of the various mechanisms that make the markets and our economy tick. We live in a new era where politics, rumor, weather and just about anything you can think of effects the markets and our economy in some way, shape or form. Like it or not we are globally tied at the hip and in this new era where the advent of technology and the internet pushes information to the edge of the envelope, we can only hope to keep up with the many challenges ahead and the speed at which they develop. Technology is a double-edged sword and unfortunately can be used for good as well as evil, it just depends on who is holding the sword. This board was created to follow news, markets, stocks, cycles, trends, indicators and most of all to communicate and share ideas. Humor and Cartoons are welcome here, it breaks up the monotony from time to time and I am alays game for a good joke. I enjoy data mining, especially for info that the MSM (Main Stream Media) fail to or are not allowed to report. We must see things from all angles and aspects in order to verify what is true and what is false, basically becoming more atune to separating the wheat from the chaff. Hopefully in the long run this will help us all to make better and more sound decisions. This board is/was basically an information board, but all are welcome to post, (actually I encourage it because looking through another's eyes gives more perspective on issues). We can never learn too much about these ever changing times and the economy at hand.
* I have only a couple of rules and that is if you should post; NO PURE POLITICS or RELIGION and as always expected, please PLAY NICE !!!
>>>
>>>
NOTE: What is meant by "pure politics" as stated in this boards' iBox decriptiion is just that.., it has no real ties to the economy and is mainly a composition of political innuendo. As I assume most of you know, it is difficult at times to separate politics from the economy due to the fact that politics plays a very large part in our everyday lives; be it on an economical, personal or other level altogether. Therefore this has created problems in the discernment of which posts should stay or go due to their leaning too far toward the political side and are slight on economic issues. As hard as my assistants and I try, we cannot please everyone. But we do what we do and want to be fair, we do want what should stay as part of this forums curricular. Everyone has an opinion and/or wants to be heard and I will do whatever I can to help ensure that is what takes place and hopefully most will not feel as though they are being targeted or alienated.
In the end all I can ask is that you be patient if a post of yours has been deleted, yet it has economic undertones that state otherwise and you feel should remain. If you feel you have been wronged - relax, sit back and PM me and I will make a final judgement. I am rather liberal, therefore more times than not I most likely will restore your post if it has merit and/or fallen between the cracks. Things happen or are interpreted differently and sometimes incorrectly, we are human. So do NOT throw a hissy fit nor become a foul mouth fool. Also PM harassment is frowned upon and should carry a level of disciplinary action, but I will leave that up to iHub Admin. Besides all that life is too precious to spend in a tirade. These types of behavior will get you no where except a closer view of the exit.. Treat people as you would like to be treated and we can work through most issues. It all starts with civil dialogue, respect for another's opinion even if not agreed upon. An agreement to disagree is the way I like to see things conclude when minds cannot meld. Just because an agreement cannot be reached does not mean we automatically have to trash another for their views and/or opinions. Let's face it, we all want better, we all want to be part of something bigger than ourselves and we all want to gain an edge in the game of life. This cannot be accomplished without an open mind and a certain level of tolerance for all that speak out.
As a matter of fact I encourage as many of you as possible to post, even if it is just once a month. You don't have to take the world by storm, it could be about something as simple as a neighborhood observation such as more homes up for sale than in months past or how empty the parking lots are at a traditionally known hot spot. Post an article or commentary that hits close to home, test the waters and see if others have seen similar events around the country. We have at our fingertips virtually 100s of libraries of information and cyber chat connections we can use to find out how different aspects of the economy are doing all around the nation. I truly believe we all have a lot to contribute and share and while we all will never see eye to eye on every subject or then again maybe none at all, but different points of view may enhance our own outlook or the way we see and do things. Right or wrong, the world is constantly evolving and technology will begin to pick up speed by leaps and bounds So we could serve each other better if we take what is posted for face value instead of an opportunity to lambaste someone that sees things in a different light than our own preconditioned mindset. When opposing views are met with hostile impositions it is of no service to anyone. I certainly would not want a cult following or a bunch of "yes" men setting the tone for this forum, I want diversity !!! Variety is the spice of life !!! You cannot expand your horizons if you automatically shut down and feel as though you have it all figured out. I got news for you, you don't and you won't until you are lying on your death bed. I do not care who you are or how worldly and educated you may be, we never stop learning unless we hold ourselves back with preconceived notions. Knowledge IS Power...
AND if you should feel the need to post on an otherwise different, yet similar stage:
Your Economy OT - Conspiracy, Politics, Religion, Terrorism, War (whatever else you can think of) (YE2OT)
It's open and ready for business. Over there you can post whatever you like to your hearts content, especially political/economic articles and commentary that does not quite fit in at YE1. So now you have 2 boards - One for economics, markets, trends, data, news, commentary, etc. - a more serious site for those who want the straight dope. And now the YE2OT board for everything else. I will play Moderator, but I am taking applications for an assistant who would control 90%+ of the interaction over there.
If people choose, they can travel between boards if they need a fix of some controlled chaos at YE2OT and then want some cold hard facts as (YE1) was intended.
I want everyone to have a voice, now you have a choice .. enjoy
