Israel — An Unlikely Pariah in a Dangerous World
By Janet Levy
If you believe the enemies of the free world, Israel is guilty of the worst crimes against humanity. Governments, international organizations, NGOs, academics, and student activists condemn its post-October 7th actions against Islamic terrorists. Leftist media makes the only democracy in the Middle East seem worse than communist China.
Consider only a few of China’s numerous atrocities that Western governments, international bodies, and mainstream media overlook:
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) continues its brutal suppression of students at Tibet’s universities. Every year, beginning in March, Tibetan students organize protests to mark the anniversary of the Chinese occupation of their country in 1959. To counter them, since 2009, China has been ordering campus lockdowns lasting as long as a month. Surveillance cameras, facial recognition technology, and tracking via a required app called Clean Cafeteria alert the authorities to students’ locations and activities. This year’s lockdown lasted the entire semester. At a recent protest, over 100 students were arrested and 20 killed.
In February, over 1,000 Tibetans were arrested and beaten for peacefully protesting a dam project. The dam will force the relocation of two villages and destroy several centuries-old Buddhist monasteries, some with murals dating to the 13th century. China’s policies in Tibet — during its 65-year occupation — amount to nothing short of ethnic cleansing and the eradication of Tibetan culture and religion.
Chinese nationals at U.S. universities are subject to repression and surveillance by the communist state and its agencies. If they speak about human rights violations in China, they are targeted for attacks, and their families in the homeland are threatened. University administrations and teachers, quick to protest every perceived wrong in America and the world, do nothing for the persecuted students. After all, they receive over $1 billion in CCP largesse and tuition from nearly 400,000 Chinese students.
The persecution of Uighur Muslims and Falun Gong adherents is well known only because of the independent efforts of exile groups and individuals in China who send out reports and videos at significant risk. But mainstream media and governments turn a blind eye to their protests. Even the International Criminal Court (ICC) has failed these persecuted groups. In 2020, Uighur exiles urged the court to investigate the CCP’s campaign of torture, forced sterilization, organ harvesting, and other abuses. The court refused, saying there wasn’t enough evidence to show Chinese officials committed crimes over which it had jurisdiction.
Hong Kong-based pro-democracy campaigner Jimmy Lai, 76, has so far spent four years in solitary confinement at a maximum-security prison. He faces the prospect of life imprisonment for sedition. Lai had fled mainland China at 12 as a stowaway on a boat to seek freedom in the British colony. He became a billionaire after starting a series of businesses and later set up media houses. His assets have been frozen, and his newspaper, Apple Daily, has been shut down. Western governments’ responses to his son Sebastien’s appeals for their intervention are disappointing.
Despite its long history of violation of sovereignty, occupation, transnational repression, and flagrant human rights abuse, China has not been the target of investigations by the U.N. or the ICC, nor of protests by students, academicians, and activist groups. The U.S. and U.K. governments and the European Union pretend the communist regime in China is benign. Even the overwhelming circumstantial and scientific evidence that convinced leading scientists of China deliberately creating the COVID-19 virus was not enough. The WHO team that visited the Wuhan virology lab cleared China of foul play.
Contrast that with the reaction to Israel’s righteous defense of its territory and its citizens after the savage jihadi attack on October 7, 2023, in which more than 1,200 civilians were killed and 240 hostages were taken.
The slaughter and hostage-taking were led by Hamas, with support from Iran and Qatar. Three in four Palestinian Arabs lauded the attack. The very next day, Iranian proxy Hezbollah began firing toward Israel, displacing tens of thousands of people in the north. In November, Houthi rebels began launching drone and missile attacks in the Red Sea to pressure Israel to end its defensive war against Hamas. On April 14th, after Israelis took out Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) troops hiding in an Iranian consulate in Damascus, Iran launched more than 300 drones and cruise and ballistic missiles toward Israel. However, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) managed to thwart them.
The IDF retaliation has been calibrated and pinpointed to minimize collateral damage. Richard Kemp, a British colonel with 30 years’ experience commanding an infantry battalion, refers to the IDF as the most moral army in the world, doing “more to safeguard the rights of civilians in a combat zone than any other army in the history of warfare.” The IDF works against tremendous odds, for Hamas routinely uses citizens as shields, hospitals, and residential areas as strongholds and arms depots, and reports the death of its fighters as civilian casualties.
But from day one, Israel has only been vilified. The roster of calumnies heaped upon it runs long. Even when it is crystal clear that slogans of “from the river to the sea” refer to a yearning for its annihilation. Here is what it faces as it defends itself.
To begin with, there has been no sympathy for the families of the victims of October 7th or the hostages, many of whom were tortured, raped, or subject to the vilest abuses. About 140 hostages are still unaccounted for. It is as if their lives and rights do not matter to the world.
Israel has been condemned in 45 UNHRC resolutions and censured by the ICC and E.U. It has been boycotted worldwide and threatened with sanctions and the withholding of military equipment.
Except briefly, America has been critical of Israel’s defensive war against Hamas and called for restraint, even accusing the Jewish state of precipitating a “humanitarian crisis.” In February, President Biden rebuked Israel, calling its action in Gaza “over the top.” Democrats continue to call for ending military aid to Israel. They demand a “permanent ceasefire” when they know that Israel’s enemies want to annihilate it.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) called for new elections to oust Israel’s democratically elected Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The recent left-led and financed protests in Israel, too, bear the signature of American instigation.
E.U. leaders continue to call for a “humanitarian pause” as Israel routs Hamas. Even Germany, which considers itself a “strong ally” of Israel, joins in this call. The West disingenuously attacks Israel for providing insufficient humanitarian aid into the region when there is abundant aid flowing in, with no blocks imposed by Israel.
The WHO chief blamed Israel for turning Gaza’s Shifa Hospital into a battlefield when it is Hamas that turned it into a stronghold. None of the international medical and aid organizations have protested mosques, hospitals, and even maternity wards being turned into battlefields by Hamas.
On campuses and in sundry protest demonstrations in the U.S. and the West, students, activists, academicians, and left-leaning NGOs paint Israel as genocidal. This hateful rhetoric is not only tolerated; it’s reported glowingly by the media. This has resulted in a worldwide wave of antisemitism, including violent attacks not seen since the Holocaust.
Unlike China, the most dangerous and autocratic power in the world today, Israel is on the frontlines of the fight for Western civilization. Her enemies are the enemies of the free world.

Republican AGs Warn of Justice Department Election Interference
Is the Biden administration putting its thumb on the 2024 scale?
by Graham J Noble | Apr 23, 2024
When it comes to the question of who has the authority to decide how elections are conducted, the Constitution is clear. Legislatures make the rules – not judges, not governors, not attorneys general, and certainly not the US Department of Justice (DOJ). Yet the latter has been trying to insert itself into the business of election administration since the establishment of the Election Threats Task Force in March of 2024. On April 10, a group of 16 Republican AGs fired off a warning in the form of a letter to US Attorney General Merrick Garland, observing that the “DOJ has no authority to dictate to the states in matters that concern their sovereign right to ensure safe, secure, and free elections.”
Article I, Section 4 of the US Constitution states: “The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.” The Founding Fathers didn’t want elections to be controlled by the federal government – for reasons that are fairly obvious. So why does the DOJ now think it is justified in stepping beyond its authority and interfering with something that is very clearly within the purview of the individual states?
The answer, as it always is when government oversteps, is that there is some crisis, some threat, or some danger that requires extraordinary measures. More often than not, of course, the crisis is manufactured – or at least greatly overstated – as is the case with so-called “election threats.”
Progressive Playbook Comes Out for the Election
The political left’s playbook is consistent when it comes to divisive domestic issues: Loudly, and with much indignation, proclaim that the crisis du jour requires comprehensive “common sense” remedies and then never declare themselves satisfied that sufficient action has been taken to end the crisis.
The “gun violence epidemic” presents a good example of this strategy. The abortion issue is another. Progressives again and again demand ever more “common sense” gun restrictions, but the truth is that they will never be happy with anything less than a total ban on the private ownership of firearms. If that seems like an extreme assertion or a generalization, put it to the test: Draw up a list of gun control measures that would satisfy the anti-gun lobby and end their campaign for more restrictions. One simply couldn’t do it without writing “total ban” – the only measure one would need to list.
Is it going too far to say that most progressives will not be satisfied until abortion is available to every woman, everywhere, for any reason or no reason at all – and at any stage of pregnancy? Again, one could attempt to make a list of abortion restrictions of which most progressives would approve, but that list would contain nothing.
So, what has all this to do with Attorney General Garland’s recent comments that democracy is under attack through the election laws passed by several Republican states since 2020? The same playbook is being used. There appear to be few, if any, rules or regulations governing the electoral process that progressives haven’t labeled discriminatory or oppressive. Even the most basic and truly commonsense requirements to show identification before casting a ballot has been described, by a number of elected Democrats, as “voter suppression.”
There is no objective data to support Democrat claims that election laws passed by a lot of Republican states have restricted access to the ballot box for certain minorities. It seems more and more the case that Democrats and their progressive allies object to any restrictions upon voting. It’s almost as if they seem to want a free-for-all in which anybody gets to vote – whether they are legally eligible to do so or not – and they get to vote at any time, by any means available. What’s more, the process for verification of those votes – according to progressives – should be so lax and lenient as to make it almost impossible for any vote to be discounted for any reason.
The DOJ is making no secret of the fact that it views just about any state-level rule regulating the electoral process as “discriminatory, burdensome, and unnecessary restrictions on access to the ballot,” as Garland himself put it, “including those related to mail-in voting, the use of drop boxes, and voter ID requirements.”
It would be interesting to know what – if any – laws Garland believes states should be allowed to enforce. If the issue is the threat to democracy, however, it is hard to imagine any greater threat than the federal government using the Justice Department to prevent states from putting in place any measures designed to protect the integrity of the ballot box.

Biden and Trump Battle for Pennsylvania Primary Pole Position
Primary day in PA could be very revealing.
by Leesa K. Donner | Apr 23, 2024
Pennsylvania polls open at 7 a.m. today (April 23) for a primary contest in perhaps the most hotly contested battleground state. Most will remember that it was the Keystone State that put Donald Trump over the top in 2016. Likewise, his loss of Pennsylvania in 2020 was vital to Joe Biden’s victory. So, what can this primary tell us about the upcoming election?
The Keystone State has been a veritable seesaw of polling data. In the first quarter of 2024, Trump edged out Biden in six polls; however, the incumbent leads in five polls with a boost in the RealClearPolitics average of a mere half a percent. These numbers may be misleading as an outlier poll conducted by Franklin & Marshall served up a 10-point advantage for the man from Scranton. (The survey size was smaller than usual, and registered voters were sampled, which is considered less reliable than likely voters.)
Pennsylvania Primary — The Nuts and Bolts
The Keystone State has a closed primary, meaning only party members can vote in their respective contests, but both parties permit write-in candidates. Absentee or mail-in ballots must arrive at statewide county boards of elections by 8 p.m., when the polls close tonight.
Significant down-ballot races include congressional matches that could ultimately shift the balance of power in the US House, including contests in three districts. In the 12th District, which covers Westmoreland County just west of the greater Pittsburgh area, first-term Democratic Rep. Summer Lee, an outspoken critic of Israel, faces a party challenge.
At the other end of the state lies the first district, which encompasses Bucks County, just south of Philadelphia. Republican Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick is in a tight race with challenger Mark Houck. Then there is PA’s 10th, represented by Rep. Scott Perry (R), which lies between these two districts. Six Democrats are battling it out to take on Perry, who had his cellphone confiscated by the FBI as part of the Jan. 6 investigation.
Pennsylvania Party History
Long considered part of the famed “blue wall,” the Keystone State actually has a checkered past regarding party allegiance. From 1850 to 1932, PA was the big red wall except for a Progressive Party win in 1912 by Teddy Roosevelt. Pennsylvania once carried as many as 38 electoral votes as a second state in the Union. In 2020, it held only 20. Due to a diminished population, it will lose one of those electoral votes and have only 19 to offer a candidate this year. The recent move to sell the iconic US Steel Company to Japanese-owned Nippon Steel is one reason why.
Shareholders voted overwhelmingly to support the $14B sale, but they may not get their wish. Both Trump and Biden are taking a hard line against selling the 122-year-old steel company. In a campaign swing through PA last week, the president was unequivocal in his opposition to the sale, asserting, “American-owned, American operated by American union steelworkers — the best in the world — and that’s going to happen I promise you.”
However, Trump may have the edge in the battle for working-class voters. While in office, he instituted a tariff system that protected the steelworker, and he seems to have been awarded the undying favor of many steelworkers. He was quoted in January by Politico:
“’I would block it instantaneously. Absolutely,’ Trump said after a meeting with the president of the Teamsters labor union, which represents workers in the transportation industry. ‘We saved the steel industry. Now, U.S. Steel is being bought by Japan. So terrible.’”
The acquisition of US Steel by the Japanese may be the only issue Trump and Biden have in common. Today, both are poised to win their respective primaries, but the real question is which candidate can win the hearts and minds of the blue-collar worker – once a Democratic stronghold. Voter turnout in today’s Pennsylvania primary will also indicate which of the two gentlemen has the enthusiasm factor, a critical element in winning an election.

House Votes To Protect Every Country Not Named The United States
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a landmark bipartisan vote, the U.S. House of Representatives has voted to protect every country in the entire world, as long as that country isn't named the United States.
"Huzzah! We've done it!" Exclaimed Democrats and Republicans as they tearfully hugged each other. "Every single nation on the planet can enjoy the total protection of the United States military! Except the United States. We didn't have time to add that to the bill. Maybe later."
The representatives then joyfully called their defense lobbyist donors to tell them the happy news.
"We are proud to fulfill our sacred duty to all the nations everywhere," said Congressman Dan Crenshaw. "Our military now stands at the ready to protect Brazil, India, Australia, Canada, Japan, Germany, Egypt, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia, Italy, Argentina, France, Turkey, South Africa, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Thailand, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Vietnam, Philippines, Pakistan, South Korea, Bangladesh, Colombia, Poland, Ukraine, Netherlands, Iraq, Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland, Israel, Portugal, Norway, Austria, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Venezuela, Nepal, Greece, Czech Republic, Hungary, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, Romania, Chile, Algeria, Morocco, Peru, Ecuador, Angola, Sudan, Tunisia, Bolivia, Afghanistan, Yemen, Mozambique, Syria, Cambodia, Zimbabwe, Jordan, Rwanda, Somalia, Haiti, Madagascar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Slovenia, Kosovo, Georgia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Papua New Guinea, Libya, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Trinidad and Tobago, Mauritius, Fiji, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Malta, Iceland, Maldives, Brunei, Guyana, Suriname, and Djibouti."
"Did I leave anyone out? Hm... no, I think that's everyone that matters."
At publishing time, an amendment to add the United States to the bill was shot down.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft pulls support from Columbia after anti-Israel protests: ‘No longer an institution I recognize’
By Ronny Reyes Published April 22, 2024, 1:16 p.m. ET
New England Patriots team owner Robert Kraft announced Monday that he was pulling his support from Columbia University over the ongoing anti-Israel protest at the Manhattan campus.
“It was through the full academic scholarship Columbia gave me that I was able to attend college and get my start in life and for that I have been tremendously grateful,” Kraft said in a statement. “However, the school I love so much – the one that welcomed me and provided me with so much opportunity – is no longer an institution I recognize.”
“I am deeply saddened at the virulent hate that continues to grow on campus and throughout our country,” Kraft added. “I am no longer confident that Columbia can protect its students and staff and I am not comfortable supporting the university until corrective action is taken.
“It is my hope that Columbia and its leadership will stand up to this hate by ending these protests immediately and will work to earn back the respect and trust of many of us who have lost faith in the institution,” he continued.
“It is my hope that in this difficult time, the Kraft Center at Columbia will serve as a source of security and safety for all Jewish students and faculty on campus who want to gather peacefully to practice their religions, to be together and to be welcomed.”
Kraft, who is worth $11.1 billion, has been a prolific donor to the university and funded the Kraft Center for Jewish Student Life across from Columbia’s campus.
The center was kickstarted with a $11.5 million donation in 2000, with the billionaire donating another $1.5 million in 2005.
Two years later, The Kraft Group pledged another $5 million in support of Columbia’s athletics program, which led to the naming of the Robert K. Kraft Field at the Baker Field Athletics Complex.
The 82-year-old Massachusetts native has ramped up efforts to fight antisemtism following the Oct. 7 massacre in Israel, with his Foundation to Combat AntiSemitism running a 30-second ad during the Super Bowl as part of his “Stand Up to Jewish Hate” campaign.
Kraft has also committed $25 million to raise awareness about rising antisemitism, according to The Wall Street Journal.
He has previously donated millions of dollars to causes in Israel, including the funding of sports complexes and other philanthropic endeavors.
Kraft made his announcement following the high profile protest taking place at Columbia University where hundreds have gathered to demand an end to the war in Gaza.
The demonstrations, however, have included ugly episodes where protesters could be heard shouting antisemitic, anti-Israel and pro-Hamas chants.
What to know about the antisemitism controversy at Columbia University:
• Columbia University president Minouche Shafik was accused of “gross negligence” while testifying before the House Education and Workforce Committee about antisemitic incidents at the school and pro-Palestinian indoctrination. Shafik defended the school’s response after Oct. 7, but refused to tell lawmakers at the hearing if the phrase “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” is antisemitic.
• A report from the Ivy League school’s Task Force on Antisemitism found “repeated violations by student groups” at Columbia after the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attacks in Israel.
• Ahead of the hearing, Jewish students told The Post that they have been targeted and witnessed antisemitism at the Morningside Heights campus. The Columbia University Jewish Alumni Association told The Post that the college’s administrators must “do their job” in reining in unauthorized student protests.
• Shortly after the Oct. 7 attacks, more than 100 Columbia professors signed a letter defending students who support the “military action” by Hamas.
• In February, an antisemitic poster depicting Israel as a skunk appeared on campus — which experts liken to a propaganda poster used by the Nazis in World War II.
• An unsanctioned “Resistance 101” event was held on campus in March by a Palestinian activist with alleged ties to a group labeled a terror organization by the US. Four students who participated were later suspended by Columbia.
• While the congressional hearing was in progress, Columbia students erected 60 tents on campus to demand that the university divest from Israel. One of the leaders of the protests, Ilhan Omar’s daughter, Isra Hirsi, was suspended from Barnard College — a women’s college affiliated with Columbia.
• Shocking video footage captured a protester near the university declare, “We’re all Hamas” and “Long live Hamas” Wednesday. Another protester was arrested Wednesday night for repeatedly hitting and scratching an NYPD cop, according to law enforcement officials.
• On Thursday, more than 100 other protesters were arrested after Shafik announced the campus’s closure.
• Columbia canceled in-person classes on April 22 as the protests continued. Israeli-born professor Shai Davidai was barred from campus after he attempted to lead a pro-Jewish rally.
• Every New York House GOP lawmaker demanded that Shafik resign immediately for failing to crack down on the “large unauthorized antisemitic riot” on campus. Columbia University’s Jewish Alumni Association also called for Shafik’s resignation.

NEW: Unredacted Docs Reveal Biden, Garland, Jack Smith Collusion in Trump ‘Documents’ Case.
Raheem J. Kassam
Unredacted documents published Monday have begun to reveal the extent of the Biden government’s collusion with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) to “concoct a case” against President Donald Trump. The records also appear to confirm that President Trump was telling the truth when he said his team was still negotiating chain of custody with NARA when they suddenly made a criminal complaint.
Reporter Julie Kelly revealed: “Thanks to order by Judge Cannon, key evidence related to classified docs case is now unredacted. On the left: What DOJ/Jack Smith wanted to conceal. On the right: Now we know why. More proof of collaboration btw Biden White House and NARA to concoct a case.”
The documents without markings reveal a complex attempt by Biden’s Department of Justice, working hand-in-hand with the Obama-appointed National Archivist David Ferriero to cease normal ongoing negotiations with an outgoing president and instead begin a criminal investigation – something that has never happened before.

Ferriero, who resigned in 2022 while demanding Joe Biden refuse to hire a white person in his place, reportedly “ran out of patience” with the normal process of negotiating with Trump’s team for any documents that were removed during the White House transition.
This, as well as details about how the case emerged, were unredacted by Judge Aileen Cannon on Monday.
The unredacted documents prove the case was being concocted by Biden’s own White House and the Department of Justice under Merrick Garland months before the NARA criminal referral – a revelation that will rankle Biden’s campaign team which has advised the 46th President to steer clear of the topic for fear of public scrutiny.

RNC takes aim at winning BIG in 2024 by implementing MASSIVE election integrity operation
written by Summer Lane April 22, 2024
The Republican National Committee is quickly transforming into a stronghold of America First power that is aimed at helping President Trump recapture the White House in November 2024, and with its newest strategy, victory for the party is looking more attainable than ever before.
A new press release from the RNC revealed that they plan on hiring 100,000 people to launch an election integrity program unlike any that has ever been seen in American history.
Via their statement:
Whenever a ballot is being cast or counted, Republican poll watchers will be observing the process and reporting any irregularity. In the event of an irregularity or problem, RNC lawyers and the volunteer attorneys that they have coordinated will provide rapid response services to resolve the issue using a sophisticated, tested action protocol.
The RNC has recently seen rapid improvements as far as election integrity and fundraising on the heels of leadership changes that rocked the establishment to its core. President Donald Trump’s handpicked candidates took over in early spring, and since then, there’s been no turning back for the RNC.
During the 2023-2024 cycle, @GOP attorneys have already engaged in dozens of cases across the country to make mail voting safer.
This win in Pennsylvania is a landmark victory that will reverberate in courtrooms across the country. https://t.co/Wx3FwfAnXp
— RNC Election Integrity (@RNCVoteProtect) March 28, 2024
The RNC highlights its devotion to election integrity and celebrates a recent win in Pennsylvania
With newly minted Chairman Michael Whatley, Co-Chair Lara Trump, and Chief of Staff Chris LaCivita at the helm, the RNC has become a lot tougher.
Lara Trump stated, “Every ballot. Every precinct. Every processing center. Every county. Every battleground state. We will be there. The RNC is hiring hundreds of election integrity staff across the map – more than ever before because our Party will be recruiting thousands of more observers to protect the vote in 2024.”
She added, “These campaign officials in states are tasked with recruiting, training, and when possible, shifting poll watchers and poll workers day in and day out.”
The RNC will focus on five major areas of observation: logic and accuracy machine testing, early voting, Election Day voting, mail-in ballot processes, and post-election processes.
Mail-in ballot processes will include adjudication and duplication, while post-election processes will include canvassing, auditing, and recounts when necessary.
Additionally, key battleground states will have access to an “Election Integrity Hotline” where lawyers will be available at all times to “field all incoming questions and issues reported by poll watchers and voters statewide.”

Hollywood Devastated by Massive Woke Loss – Top Studio Finally Closes Down for Good
April 21, 2024 Eric Beaton
Hollywood was an iconic part of American culture for generations. People looked to the home of legends and heroes as a wondrous escape from day-to-day living.
This was all before Hollywood turned its nose up at the people who supported this fantasy land. Woke actors and directors decided they needed to tell America how to live instead of providing universally accepted productions.
Wokeness took over Hollywood, and the downfall of movieland began. Hollywood’s misfortune continued this week with the failure of one of the most prolific studios that funded leftist-leaning productions.
From Breitbart:
Left-wing billionaire Jeff Skoll’s woke film studio Participant is reportedly shutting down operations and eliminating most of its staff — the latest victim of Hollywood’s sharp downturn that has seen a bloodbath of layoffs and budget cuts.
Participant, founded in 2004, often financed projects with social justice and globalist themes, including former Vice President Al Gore’s climate change documentary An Inconvenient Truth and its sequel. Other titles include the Obama’s Netflix documentary American Factory and the Ruth Bader Ginsburg doc RBG.
Skoll delivered the bad news to the studio’s staff of about 100 people on Tuesday. Most were set to lose their jobs with no new content development or production. A skeleton crew was set to remain to handle the studio’s library of more than 130 titles.
Participant was caught up in the industry revolution that changed the way content is “distributed and consumed,” according to a memo credited to Skoll. This tectonic shift sent movie productions straight to streaming services versus the past pathway to consumers that depended heavily on distribution through movie theaters. Specialty titles, like many from Participant, couldn’t leverage word-of-mouth support from consumers that helped create buzz during awards season.
Despite bankrolling two best-picture Oscar winners — Green Book and Spotlight – Participant couldn’t avoid the flip side of success as if suffered high-profile box office flops. These included the environmentally themed Dark Waters, starring Mark Ruffalo, and the Matt Damon thriller Stillwater.
Hollywood continues to reel from the shift in consumer preferences where Americans have walked away from theaters and cable television. Hollywood has suffered deep financial cuts as Americans continue to cancel their cable TV subscriptions, TV advertising dwindles further, and streaming losses push into the billions of dollars.
Writers and actors in Hollywood contributed to the downturn of the industry after going on strike last year. This decay from the inside also contributed to big studios such as Walt Disney Company, Paramount, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Amazon MGM slashing their employee numbers.
For those who miss the glamour days of the silver screen, the tears of Hollywood moguls watching their woke empire collapse delivers a fitting ending to a sad story of betrayal against the American consumer.

JUST IN: Alvin Bragg’s Prosecutors Lie About 2016 Election in Opening Statement to Jurors
by Cristina Laila Apr. 22, 2024 11:00 am
Opening statements were underway in President Trump’s ‘hush payment’ trial in New York City on Monday morning.
Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s top prosecutor lied during his opening statement and claimed Trump “orchestrated a criminal scheme to corrupt the 2016 presidential election” when he paid porn star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about their alleged affair.
Trump has denied the affair.
Bragg’s top prosecutor who gave the opening statement on Monday – Matthew Colangelo – previously worked in the Justice Department (Biden appointee) and is a lifelong left-wing activist.
“The defendant, Donald Trump, orchestrated a criminal scheme to corrupt the 2016 presidential election. Then he covered up that criminal conspiracy by lying in his New York business records over and over and over again,” prosecutor Matthew Colangelo – a former top Biden DOJ appointee – told jurors, according to AP.
Alvin Bragg indicted Trump last April on 34 felony counts related to ‘hush payments’ he made to Stormy Daniels.
Trump was accused of paying porn star Stormy Daniels, AKA, Stephanie Clifford, ‘hush payments’ through his then-attorney Michael Cohen in a scheme to silence her and stop the story about their alleged affair from being published in the National Enquirer.
The payments made to Stormy Daniels did NOT come from Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
The payments were made through internal business records – there was no tax deduction taken and there was no obligation to file it with the FEC, according to Trump attorney Joe Tacopina.
Alvin Bragg didn’t explain what exactly he wanted to convict Trump of in the charging documents.
Bragg told reporters he doesn’t have to tell anyone what the underlying felony is.
This is a glaring example of a two-tiered justice system.
Recall that the FEC in 2022 fined Hillary Clinton and the DNC $113,000 for lying about funding the fake Russia dossier.
The FEC fined Clinton and said her campaign violated the rules because they failed to disclose payments funneled to Fusion GPS through DNC law firm Perkins Coie.
Hillary Clinton got a light slap on the wrist for her crimes while Trump is on trial in New York City.
But President Donald Trump sits in court and is abused and slandered by the prosecutors and presiding judge, a far left Trump-hater.
Democrats are destroying our justice system like everything else they touch before our eyes.

Trump Trial Rocked by New $100M Bombshell – Donald’s Ally Makes Shock Claim About Judge
April 21, 2024 Eric Beaton
This week saw the start of the “hush money” trial against Donald Trump. Democrat prosecutors in New York are trying to convict him of a laundry list of charges. Many Americans believe this—like all the other cases—is a poorly veiled attempt by Democrats to derail Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.
Those suspicions were only strengthened when a known liberal judge was appointed to the case. Judge Juna Merchan refused to recuse himself from this case, even though he has donated to Joe Biden.
What’s more, he has shown a bias against Trump—by ordering him to be in court instead of on the campaign trail. Now, a Trump ally has revealed another bombshell that could implicate this judge and his family. Few Americans will consider this trial legitimate after learning this.
From The Post Millennial:
Trump ally Mike Davis revealed on War Room Wednesday that the daughter of the judge overseeing the trial “has raised nearly $100 million for this criminal trial.”
He added, “This Loren Merchan, the judge’s daughter, has raised nearly $100 million for this criminal trial. She’s profiting from this thing. And CNN doesn’t want its viewers to hear this.”…
Loren Merchan is the head of a Chicago consulting firm and was paid around $4 million to help spread the word of Rep Adam Schiff’s effort in 2019 to impeach Trump.
It is known that Judge Merchan’s daughter is Loren Merchan, a Democratic operative working out of Chicago. Trump ally Mike Davis claims that Loren has raised nearly $100 million, using Trump’s criminal trial as motivation.
Merchan was paid by Democrats to spread the word against Trump during the 2019 impeachment. This family appears to have deep ties to the Democrats, which will convince most Americans that the judge can’t be impartial.
As the primary season heated up last year, Democrats launched these lawsuits against Trump. They timed it so the trials would begin as we near the general election. Democrats seem intent on using the legal system to drain Trump of resources, discourage voters from supporting him, and even put him in jail.
Judge Merchan and his daughter’s antics only further highlight these suspicions. But it will probably not go well with them, as Americans appear to be getting more and more outraged over this scheme.

BREAKING: Judge Smacks Down Letitia James, Rules in Favor of Trump in Fight Over $175 Million Bond
by Cristina Laila Apr. 22, 2024 12:40 pm
A judge on Monday smacked down Marxist tyrant Letitia James and ruled in favor of Trump in a fight over a $175 million bond.
On Friday, Letitia James asked a judge to void Trump’s $175 million bond that he posted to appeal the civil fraud case
Letitia James argued that California-based Knight Specialty Insurance Company (KSIC) is not approved to do business in New York.
James also questioned whether KSIC has the funds to back up the $175 million bond Trump previously posted.
“Based on KSIC’s policyholder surplus in its most recent annual financial statement of $138,441,671, the limitation of loss on any one risk that KSIC is permitted to write is $13.8 million,” Letitia James’ office wrote in a 26-page filing according to Fox News. “The face amount of the bond exceeds this limitation by $161.2 million.”
James also argued in her filing: “KSIC is not qualified to act as the surety under this standard because its management has been found by federal authorities to have operated affiliated companies within KSIC’s holding company structure in violation of federal law on multiple occasions within the past several years.”
“KSIC does not now have an exclusive right to control the account and will not obtain such control unless and until it exercises a right to do so on two days’ notice,” James’ office wrote in the filing.
Letitia James asked the judge to void Trump’s bond and require him to post another bond within 7 days of the court’s decision.
The judge ruled against Letitia James on Monday and said Trump’s $175 million bond can stand.

Fox News reported:
Former President Trump’s $175 million bond judgment stemming from his non-jury civil trial will stand, a New York judge ruled Monday after New York Attorney General Letitia James attempted to invalidate it.
Lawyers for James on Monday argued that the court should void Trump’s slashed judgment of $175 million in his non-jury civil fraud trial. James questioned whether the company that posted the massive bond, Knight Specialty Insurance, could actually pay the bond if needed.
The court, though, ruled against James, deciding that the bond will stand.
The court decided the $175 million needs to be in cash — not in mutual funds or securities where the value can fluctuate. The court said Knight Insurance cannot trade or move the money, but said they will retain control of the account.
The court also ruled that Knight Insurance must provide a monthly financial statement to James showing the $175 million in cash and decided that the agreement cannot change without approval from the court.

Supreme Court exposes Biden’s selective prosecution of political opponents
By
Washington Examiner
April 22, 2024 12:01 am
.
During oral arguments on Tuesday, Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Samuel Alito exposed the Biden administration’s inexcusable practice of selective prosecution of protesters and rioters.
The case, Fischer v. United States, involved the contention by Pennsylvanian Joseph Fischer that the charges of “obstruct[ion of] … any official proceeding,” based on 18 U.S.C. § 1512(c), should not apply to his actions during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Fischer, who also was charged with assaulting police officers, is hardly a sympathetic figure. His claims that he wasn’t trying to obstruct or “impede” official (and important) congressional business, in the ordinary (nonlegal) sense of those words, are specious, but Gorsuch and Alito were interested in a point broader than Fischer’s particular circumstances.
More than 300, of nearly 1,400 total, other Jan. 6 defendants also have been charged with violating 18 U.S.C. § 1512(c). The two justices were puzzled by inconsistencies with which President Joe Biden’s appointees apply the law and with the wide scope they claim for it against disfavored defendants. Contrarily, when people on the Left, even including members of Congress, disrupt government proceedings, including by use of force, Biden and his officials look the other way.
“Would a sit-in that disrupts a trial or access to a federal courthouse qualify [as illegal obstruction]?” Gorsuch asked Biden’s solicitor general, Elizabeth Prelogar. “Would a heckler at today’s audience qualify or a heckler at the State of the Union address? Would pulling a fire alarm before a vote qualify for 20 years in federal prison?”
Progressive Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) used the fire alarm stunt before a key spending vote last Sept. 30 and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge carrying negligible penalties, but he bragged about not being charged for obstructing House proceedings even though that’s what he had obviously done when the alarm forced an evacuation. That mandatory mass exit interrupted attempts to ward off a government shutdown.
When Prelogar’s attempt to draw distinctions sounded weak and confusing, Gorsuch pressed further. Using the catchphrase favored by liberal news media and others about urban riots, even ones where police were injured, cars were burned, and federal courthouses were significantly damaged, resulting in trial relocations or delays, Gorsuch somewhat mockingly asked why “a mostly peaceful protest … that actually obstructs and impedes an official proceeding for an indefinite period would not be covered.”
Prelogar stumbled throughout the questioning, including when Alito picked up on similar themes. At one point, she said that for a criminal charge under the statute at issue, “we would have to have the evidence of intent.” Yet it is clear that at least a significant subset of the Jan. 6 rioters, while knowing they should not be in the Capitol, and thus being criminally liable for trespassing or disorderly conduct, were clueless about the congressional proceedings rather than intentionally trying to interfere with them. Yet this administration is throwing the book at scores of them.
The point isn’t that the Capitol rioters should avoid all penalties but that the Biden administration is choosing for ideological reasons when and how to apply laws against illicit protests.
Thus it is that in 2020, now-Vice President Kamala Harris advocated a yearlong continuation of the oft-violent post-George Floyd riots while supporting groups that wanted to bail murderers from prison. The Biden Justice Department tries to imprison innocent anti-abortion protesters while letting hundreds of attacks on pro-life centers go unpunished. It targets parents as domestic terrorists while refusing to enforce specific laws against demonstrations at the homes of Republican-appointed Supreme Court justices. Examples of double standards are almost countless.
Not all involve the charge of “obstruct[ing]” a “proceeding,” but the trend is clear. In this administration, riots and obstructive protests that support leftist causes or narratives are met with leniency, while demonstrations by conservatives, even non-invasive ones, are penalized severely.
None of this is to say how the Supreme Court should rule on this case and this law. It is to say, though, that Gorsuch and Alito revealed the administration’s hypocrisy and unequal justice, unobstructed, for all the world to see.

It is Your Economy .. yours, mine, our family, friends and neighbors -- EVERYONE to some degree is touched by the markets and their behavior. So we should be aware of the various mechanisms that make the markets and our economy tick. We live in a new era where politics, rumor, weather and just about anything you can think of effects the markets and our economy in some way, shape or form. Like it or not we are globally tied at the hip and in this new era where the advent of technology and the internet pushes information to the edge of the envelope, we can only hope to keep up with the many challenges ahead and the speed at which they develop. Technology is a double-edged sword and unfortunately can be used for good as well as evil, it just depends on who is holding the sword. This board was created to follow news, markets, stocks, cycles, trends, indicators and most of all to communicate and share ideas. Humor and Cartoons are welcome here, it breaks up the monotony from time to time and I am alays game for a good joke. I enjoy data mining, especially for info that the MSM (Main Stream Media) fail to or are not allowed to report. We must see things from all angles and aspects in order to verify what is true and what is false, basically becoming more atune to separating the wheat from the chaff. Hopefully in the long run this will help us all to make better and more sound decisions. This board is/was basically an information board, but all are welcome to post, (actually I encourage it because looking through another's eyes gives more perspective on issues). We can never learn too much about these ever changing times and the economy at hand.
* I have only a couple of rules and that is if you should post; NO PURE POLITICS or RELIGION and as always expected, please PLAY NICE !!!
>>>
>>>
NOTE: What is meant by "pure politics" as stated in this boards' iBox decriptiion is just that.., it has no real ties to the economy and is mainly a composition of political innuendo. As I assume most of you know, it is difficult at times to separate politics from the economy due to the fact that politics plays a very large part in our everyday lives; be it on an economical, personal or other level altogether. Therefore this has created problems in the discernment of which posts should stay or go due to their leaning too far toward the political side and are slight on economic issues. As hard as my assistants and I try, we cannot please everyone. But we do what we do and want to be fair, we do want what should stay as part of this forums curricular. Everyone has an opinion and/or wants to be heard and I will do whatever I can to help ensure that is what takes place and hopefully most will not feel as though they are being targeted or alienated.
In the end all I can ask is that you be patient if a post of yours has been deleted, yet it has economic undertones that state otherwise and you feel should remain. If you feel you have been wronged - relax, sit back and PM me and I will make a final judgement. I am rather liberal, therefore more times than not I most likely will restore your post if it has merit and/or fallen between the cracks. Things happen or are interpreted differently and sometimes incorrectly, we are human. So do NOT throw a hissy fit nor become a foul mouth fool. Also PM harassment is frowned upon and should carry a level of disciplinary action, but I will leave that up to iHub Admin. Besides all that life is too precious to spend in a tirade. These types of behavior will get you no where except a closer view of the exit.. Treat people as you would like to be treated and we can work through most issues. It all starts with civil dialogue, respect for another's opinion even if not agreed upon. An agreement to disagree is the way I like to see things conclude when minds cannot meld. Just because an agreement cannot be reached does not mean we automatically have to trash another for their views and/or opinions. Let's face it, we all want better, we all want to be part of something bigger than ourselves and we all want to gain an edge in the game of life. This cannot be accomplished without an open mind and a certain level of tolerance for all that speak out.
As a matter of fact I encourage as many of you as possible to post, even if it is just once a month. You don't have to take the world by storm, it could be about something as simple as a neighborhood observation such as more homes up for sale than in months past or how empty the parking lots are at a traditionally known hot spot. Post an article or commentary that hits close to home, test the waters and see if others have seen similar events around the country. We have at our fingertips virtually 100s of libraries of information and cyber chat connections we can use to find out how different aspects of the economy are doing all around the nation. I truly believe we all have a lot to contribute and share and while we all will never see eye to eye on every subject or then again maybe none at all, but different points of view may enhance our own outlook or the way we see and do things. Right or wrong, the world is constantly evolving and technology will begin to pick up speed by leaps and bounds So we could serve each other better if we take what is posted for face value instead of an opportunity to lambaste someone that sees things in a different light than our own preconditioned mindset. When opposing views are met with hostile impositions it is of no service to anyone. I certainly would not want a cult following or a bunch of "yes" men setting the tone for this forum, I want diversity !!! Variety is the spice of life !!! You cannot expand your horizons if you automatically shut down and feel as though you have it all figured out. I got news for you, you don't and you won't until you are lying on your death bed. I do not care who you are or how worldly and educated you may be, we never stop learning unless we hold ourselves back with preconceived notions. Knowledge IS Power...
AND if you should feel the need to post on an otherwise different, yet similar stage:
Your Economy OT - Conspiracy, Politics, Religion, Terrorism, War (whatever else you can think of) (YE2OT)
It's open and ready for business. Over there you can post whatever you like to your hearts content, especially political/economic articles and commentary that does not quite fit in at YE1. So now you have 2 boards - One for economics, markets, trends, data, news, commentary, etc. - a more serious site for those who want the straight dope. And now the YE2OT board for everything else. I will play Moderator, but I am taking applications for an assistant who would control 90%+ of the interaction over there.
If people choose, they can travel between boards if they need a fix of some controlled chaos at YE2OT and then want some cold hard facts as (YE1) was intended.
I want everyone to have a voice, now you have a choice .. enjoy
