Ok, Matt, I think I understand what you are saying. Let me think about it for a couple of days.
I think cUz shorty is trying to takeover IH ;)
I'm a flexible Admin...So, Carolyn, since this is your thread, you can set the rules if you want images allowed here...
I normally don't let them live, beyond the test thread...
You, as Chairwoman, have the power to remove :)
mb
Are you related to cOUSIN Shorty?
Gee, thanks for offering to deliver dinner!
Just call me for dinner.

Mighty kind of you, my wife will be thrilled.

Well here you are:
BUTTERSCOTH PECAN PIE
9" pie crust (recipe follows)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup butter

1 cup pecan pieces
1 tsp. vanilla
Mix together sugar and flour. Add melted butter and blend well. Stir in eggs, butterscotch morsels, pecans, and vanilla. Pour mixture into unbaked pie crust. Bake at 325 for 1 hour or until golden brown. Pie will wiggle when done and set as it cools.

...so where there is danger, there is beauty, eh Carolyn...hmmm....and you are the shark ladies. Sounds intriguing. ggg

....new moral leadership at the helm. Doubt we'll see anymore late night trysts with trollups at the East gate. Don't know how much you read or knew of that situation, but if East gate doesn't ring a bell, you may be lost. ggg
Big Ben
....well take your time, but I'm getting hungry for it. ggg

How many collected news/opinions pieces do you want? And what does GW have to do with it, except offering all a breath of fresh air...? You lost me on that one, bbb
HWL But of course, and only Carolyn would know that!!!!
I wouldn't like to eat the blossoms especially after they had gone to seed...the fluff would tickle your nose. Your father must have been a wise man to figure out that little trick!
If you are fortunate enough to have someone eat the dandelions in your yard, you could cancel your lawn service..that's a twofer!
My dad loved dandelion salad, made with leaves not blossoms. Good only in the spring when the leaves are tender he said. They are actually a delicacy, but beware of weed killer! I did taste a leaf or two when I was little and they were not bad.
Martha
They are beautiful, of course.
Dangerous things always are. LOL
Have you ever had dandelion salad???? I actually knew a man in New Jersey who love it..yuck! He said it was like a leaf lettuce. I don't think I'd like to try it to find out!
You're not suppose to eat them! But aren't they pretty?
Yes, a little late, but here I am.
I do love Lantana, and they really do attract butterflies, also bees.
LOL!
And what a neat site!
Perfect for a cold winter day.
Thanks for posting it, ROFL.
A rather well-proportioned secretary, Joan, spent almost all of her vacation sunbathing on the roof of her hotel. She wore a bathing suit the first day but, on the second, she decided that no one could see her way up there, and she slipped out of it for an overall tan. She'd hardly begun when she heard someone running up the stairs; she was lying on her stomach, so she just pulled a towel over her rear.
"Excuse me, miss," said the flustered little assistant manager of the hotel, out of breath from running up the stairs. "The Hilton doesn't mind you sunbathing on the roof but we would very much appreciate you wearing a bathing suit as you did yesterday." "What difference does it make," Joan asked rather calmly. "No one can see me up here, and besides, I'm covered with a towel."
"Not exactly," said the embarrassed little man. "You're lying on the dining room skylight."

ROTFLMAO!
LOL!
Welcome to the thread - we always enjoy humor here!
So you don't have to git!
A gorilla from Puget Sound
Was arrested, handcuffed and bound,
When he acted crudely
And rudely and lewdly
And furthermore monkeyed around
So was politely told "Git out of town".
ROTFLMAO!
I did too - and I know I posted that recipe. So strange.
I will do so here - even if I have to consult my book on it.

Carolyn, I did a search on "pecan pie" and nothing came up on my thread. I know you talked about it but I don't remember seeing it.
Maybe you could post it for us again!!
I posted one of Ga Peach's recipe thread on SI, but now I can't find it!
The lowly dandelion is actually very pretty and was my grandmother's favorite blossom, believe it or not. That is not hard to grow!
Martha
K~Digger sry about the thin, worn out wallet...LOL. Anything ever come of Monica's business of making handbags. A messy affair regardless; a presidency in crisis. Thank you GW!
Big Ben
Well git outta town, I'm into snap dragons and venus flytraps. Exotic yes, extravagant no. How about a good pecan pie recipe!
Big Ben
Gee, what is it with you guys? All poisonous flowers!
I like daisies and iris.
And poisonous! LOL
And then there's Lantana.....smells good and the butterflys love it!!
Good morning, everybody! <G>
I think you're safe there!
We're sort of like Seifield a thread about "Nothing", but we do discuss many subjects, though not all at once and not in unison!
For instance, I'll tell you about the type of flowers I like best, and I'll lay you 10 to 1, by tomorrow night, we'll have at least 5 different flowers mentioned. I'll start off with Lily of the Valley, my favorite! So delicate, and difficult to grow where I live.
Personally I hope this thread has no subject at all!
Martha
Okay you tell me....what is the subject of this thread, and I'll try to stay on topic!
I lie, no I won't!
Hi K, now we have a place to go just in case!
(Little mini grub there!)
It just may. But we at least have two homes for now.
Hi Carolyn--
I join Dealer in thanking you for the welcome to your thread. Unlike most here I am not an SIer but do keep my eye on things over there.
This may prove to be a better place!
Martha
Thanks Carolyn fer the welcome. Nice to join you gals. I stay pretty busy on the porch, trying to watch Vendit and read about 18 threads.
Seems SI has slowed down so much that I can actually get caught up with my reading and still have time to stop here every once in a while.
dealer
It does! And glad you started this place....just wait till they see where the GITS are going now!!! Where is Sarkie and R~? Oh, I know....out with the chainsaw and paint, and shopping for more shoes....:D
Wonder if they will git me for that too?
Hi Ga~~ This is a good site, and pretty easy to use....(I do like those 10 in one messages though!) ... and yes on genealogy....first thing to do is get a family group sheet, and a pedigree sheet (I call that the roadmap sheet)...Make several copies of each sheet, with more emphasis on the famiy group sheets, and you are ready to start. Gather all the old letters, pictures, and anything else from family you can find. Sort it into family groups. Then there are so many places to start....I can help you when you are ready...and anyone else that is interested. It makes history come alive because you had someone there....
With what's been going on in DC for the last 8 years, I'm a bit timid to ask about professional courtesy....:D And I definitely want a bigger wallet....the one I have right now has shrunk--big time--
