Both my brother and my girlfriend asked me for a "good risky stock to buy" just last week. I told them both WAVC on Thanksgiving. The next day (Friday) it was under 22¢. As of this AM my brother was still "looking into it" and asking me questions about telecom.... I bet his butt will be sore from self inflicted kick marks when he gets home tonight and sees the jump!

Tools I've found useful so far: the hourly and 1/2-ly (SP100), the hourly RSI + 1/2span (SP100), some volume stuff I calculate (SP100), the charts for the components of the DJIA, fibo, McClellan (SP100), candlesticks for some of the easier and seemingly more consistent patterns, a filter of stocks with unusual volume, gaps, discounts on futures, top tick of last hour. Plus some other chit I have found no use for. I have 10 foot freaking charts all over my wall that drive the wife nuts.

Thursday October 30, 4:02 pm ET
Company's 2003 year-to-date revenues increase 61% over same period in 2002; Customers' wireless network expansions drive significant increase in modem shipments
TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 30, 2003-- All figures reported in $U.S.
WaveRider Communications Inc. (OTC BB: WAVC), the leader in non-line-of-sight wireless broadband technology and deployments, today reported revenues of (U.S.) $3.53 million for the third quarter of 2003, an increase of 12 percent over the previous quarter and 66 percent over Q3 2002 results of $2.12 million. Year-to-date revenues for 2003 equal $9.85 million, an increase of 61 per cent over the same period in 2002.
At September 30, 2003, WaveRider had $3,574,574 in cash compared to $880,255 at June 30, 2003, as a result of the acquisition of Avendo, the debenture financing and the company's cash management. The loss for the three months ended September 30, 2003 includes non-cash financing charges of $385,226.
"WaveRider's revenue growth this quarter was driven by our focus on increasing sales through our channel partners and by working closely with many of our largest customers to help them move forward with their deployment plans," said Bruce Sinclair, president and chief executive officer, WaveRider Communications Inc. "We believe that our recent price reductions for volume purchases are helping to fuel customer growth."
"WaveRider is also increasing its focus on developing new technologies that will help the company maintain its leadership position in the non-line-of-sight wireless broadband industry," added Sinclair.
In addition to strong revenues, WaveRider has achieved the following corporate milestones:
Shipments of WaveRider's end-user modems (EUMs) in Q3 increased by 60% over EUM shipments in the previous quarter
WaveRider's growth was recognized by Deloitte & Touche in its annual Technology Fast 50 and Fast 500 lists, ranking seventh in Canada and 105th in North America
Acquisition and integration of Avendo Wireless Inc. has provided WaveRider with advanced wireless technologies, expanding its research and development team and bringing $1.3 million of net assets, including over $1.1 million in cash
$1.4 million in net cash from the sale of convertible debentures which will help to support WaveRider's revenue growth and new product development activities
Improvements in product margins have enabled WaveRider to introduce price reductions for volume purchases and introduce product promotions
Launch and growth of WaveRider's North American distribution program with Alliance Corporation, which has expanded the company's sales capabilities and complemented its direct sales approach
"Over the last six months, WaveRider has strengthened its financial position, continued to invest in new technologies and expanded its sales capabilities," added Sinclair. "We believe these accomplishments will be key to achieving WaveRider's long-term objectives."

I have 87500 shares of this company
been with it a long time
I don't see anything in the news yesterday or today.
It is getting closer to earnings time so perhaps those inside the comany are getting a better idea of the earnings picture. This often leaks out and stocks move towards where the news will have them end up after the announcement unless there are major surprises.
The chart sure looks like it wanted to consolidate on the 200 DMA before going higher. Perhaps the sellers are gone (not counting day traders)?
Kirk,
Any idea why we are up today with WAVC. I was watching CNBC today at 8:25am and they said they were going to interview the CEO of Wavecom so I got all excited thinking this was my stock. Found out I was wrong when they showed the stock price was $21.00. Maybe thats why WAVC went up today.
Rich
Thanks

WaveRider Communications Inc.: St. Maarten Telephone Company Launches Advanced Wireless Internet Services
Thursday October 9, 7:00 am ET
Non-Line-of-Sight Wireless Solution from WaveRider Makes Broadband Services Accessible to All, With Faster Set-up Times and Affordable Connections
TORONTO, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 9, 2003-- WaveRider Communications Inc. (OTCBB:WAVC - News), the leader in non-line-of-sight wireless broadband technology and deployments, today announced its Last Mile Solution®(LMS) has been deployed by TelEm, part of the St. Maarten Telephone Company, to deliver high-speed Internet access to homes and businesses in Dutch St. Maarten. The service will be launched in Phillipsburg this week, and will quickly expand to serve subscribers throughout the region.
With WaveRider's Last Mile Solution® system, TelEm's wireless network can deliver broadband services to subscribers in all areas, even those with heavy tree coverage, since the network does not require a clear sight-line between the company's antennas and the subscribers' sites. The WaveRider modem and indoor antenna can be easily installed by subscribers, which makes it faster and more cost-effective to connect new users to the network.
"TelEm is investing in significant upgrades to the entire telecommunications infrastructure throughout St. Maarten that will give our businesses and residents access to the most advanced communications technologies," said Dennis Richardson, President and Director, St. Maarten Telephone Company. "Our new wireless broadband service is an important part of this initiative. We have now deployed the only wireless system available that can provide the level of service our constituents need."
TelEm is working with UniiGo Communications to upgrade the entire telecommunications infrastructure on the island, including the deployment of its wireless broadband network. UniiGo specializes in the planning, engineering and installation of telecommunications solutions and has deployed WaveRider's LMS systems in several cities in North America.
The first phase of the wireless broadband roll-out includes five base stations surrounding Phillipsburg, Cole Bay, Simpson Bay, Maho Bay and other business and residential areas, which have the combined capacity to serve more than 5,000 subscribers. When complete, the wireless network will make broadband service accessible throughout the island. The company's wireless service will be offered via Telnet Communications Inc., the Internet Service Provider managed by TelEm.
Non-line-of-sight advantages
"The Internet services that have been available on the island to date were simply not adequate to suit the needs of businesses or individual Internet users," said Jeffrey DeLacombe, Deputy Director of Commercial Affairs, TelEm. "As we roll out our WaveRider non-line-of-sight wireless network, all of Dutch St. Maarten will have access to fast, reliable, affordable broadband services."
"WaveRider's Last Mile Solution products enable us to connect subscribers throughout entire communities. Other wireless systems are limited by the need for a direct line-of-sight between the base station and the subscribers' sites," said Dudley Freeman, President and founder of U.S.-based UniiGo Communications. "In areas like St. Maarten that have varying elevations and beautiful tree coverage, line-of-sight connections are either not possible or not desirable because they would require large antennas at each subscriber site throughout the area. The WaveRider system provides the non-line-of-sight connections needed in St. Maarten, with the speed and reliability that business and residential subscribers demand, and without large antennas that can interfere with the enjoyment of the landscape."
UniiGo joined WaveRider's channel program in 2003 and is working with several companies in North America, the Caribbean and Latin America to plan future wireless networks for broadband deployments.
"By working with companies like UniiGo, WaveRider has increased its exposure in the marketplace, and gained access to large telecommunications providers like St. Maarten Telephone Company that have the long-term vision and expertise to successfully deploy large-scale wireless networks," said Charles Brown, Executive Vice President, WaveRider Communications.

the vote to approve a rollback has flushed all the weak stock holders out....rb, yahoo and abhora threads are now dead......
Threads are dead but the stock is still seeing tons of share volume. I guess if you look at dollar volume, it is still pretty small
typical of an important bottom as deloitte and touche has wavc on their hot list......
Do you have a link to that list? How do we find it?

Internet 2000 Brings Non-Line-Of-Sight Wireless Broadband to Thousands Of Subscribers
TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 23, 2003-- WaveRider Communications Inc. (OTCBB:WAVC - News), the leader in non-line-of-sight wireless broadband technology and deployments, today announced its non-line-of-sight (NLOS) Last Mile Solution® system has been deployed by Internet 2000, a regional broadband and dial-up Internet Service Provider, to expand its network into 11 communities in Michigan.
Internet 2000 embarked on an ambitious roll out plan after the success of its first WaveRider non-line-of-sight (NLOS) deployment in Rogers City, Michigan now one of Internet 2000's largest customer areas. The success of the initial WaveRider deployment prompted the company to roll out in 10 more Michigan communities, including: Atlanta, Bangor, Coloma, Houghton Lake, Lawton, New Buffalo, Onaway, Prudenville and Watervilet. With additional rollouts planned for this year, Internet 2000 is making wireless broadband accessible to thousands of subscribers.
"WaveRider's non-line-of-sight solution has opened up new markets and opportunities for us," said Mark Reisch, Wireless Sales and Engineering Manager, Internet 2000. "The simplicity, ease of use and cost-effective nature of WaveRider's NLOS solution enabled us to capture residential markets that previously had no access to broadband services."
"We've also been able to offer wireless broadband technology to more communities and work with local governments, which see broadband as a critical component in attracting and retaining business," added Reisch. "By expanding our customer base of regional businesses and entering the residential market, we've already experienced a 25 per cent increase in our subscriber base."
"We believe Internet 2000 has tremendous growth potential," said Charles Brown, Executive Vice President, WaveRider Communications Inc. "They have quickly established a significant footprint in the business and residential broadband market, increased their revenue stream, expanded their networks, and offer competitive prices for broadband services."

WaveRider's NLOS system delivers up to 2.0 Mbps throughput at a range of up to two miles, in non-line-of-sight conditions, with WaveRider's indoor antennas. For installations using outdoor antennas, WaveRider's NLOS products delivers throughput speeds of 2.0 Mbps at a range of up to five miles, in non-line-of-sight conditions, and up to eight miles when there is a line-of-sight connection between the base station and subscriber antennas.
The Last Mile Solution® systems also include WaveRider's proprietary Dynamic Polling MAC and grade of service controls, which enable operators to easily manage their networks and deliver broadband services to hundreds of subscribers using a single base station unit.

In 2000 this stock was $9.00 I have been buying it at the .10 level for months and will be holding for the bigger moves. The company makes money, is growing and in the technology that will drive us forward. Quick day trade is not why I am here. I am looking for the bigger moves as this company continues to prove its self JR
No idea, but my Stock Leads had it on watch started Wednesday, which lead me to the profit just in time. It is also the third time my system picked it up, and made money from it.
