Do you think SRX can pull off a comeback?
IW warrants might be in play if IW ever turns it around
IW.wt.a and iw.wt.c
Definitely plan on looking into that in more detail.
Here is my old board on SI

SRTelecom is a Montreal-based company that lists on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The symbol for the stock is SRX and SRX.wt for the warrant.

Basically trades like stocks with an expiry date whereby you can buy the stock at a fixed price price at a specified date or let it die worthless ...
The key is to have liquidity ... just like stocks .. to be able to buy and sell
ok...i can find out the diff in srtike price and warrant price.....do u buy warrant price and exercise at strike ...no, that doesn't make sense...hmmmm, a beginner again.....groan....bring it on!
very little info or players out there besides Buckey
:)
... hope we learn it well
let me know, i have one eye open and as usual, am clueless!
thanks, robin! this is good stuff....now if i can just figure out whether u buy at the warrant price, the strike price errrr what...lol...ok, i'm working on it.
A derivative security that gives the holder the right to purchase securities (usually equity) from the issuer at a specific price within a certain time frame.
The main difference between warrants and call options is that warrants are issued and guaranteed by the company, whereas options are exchange instruments and not issued by the company. Also, the lifetime of a warrant is often measured in years, while the lifetime of a typical option is measured in months. Warrants are often included in a new debt issue as a "sweetener" to entice investors.
i think the question is "is OU up for this?" lol...i'm researching it now.... i'm having second thoughts already. my brain is full, overloaded! lol
vera, are we up for this????
ok, OU...i know nothing about warrants but i'm anxious to learn. i will follow the board and see what this is all about. now i have to go research warrants. is this going to be more learn learn learn, ouch ouch ouch?
good luck with your new board, sub
OK: teach me......
what's it all about, is it the same as stock trading? same fees, what do i do?????????
robin
where do i look???
SRX hugely risky but the bounce may be worth the risk ... we see
Please post your list whenever possible.
Thanks!!
Thanks! This goes straight to iBOX!!!!
AH yes. I kinda like the IW warrants
I was thinking more along the lines of the swashbuckling hero on the decks of pirate ships
I remember those crazy days and your great success with Vengold.
I did well with the stock, but could only watch in awe as you played those warrants like a master fiddler.
Ah you mentioned a bad word "buccaneer" - They are not playing today
Imagine picking that as your favorite NFL team 20 years ago - well they have sucked the last two years - Then again they did win the superbowl 3 years ago. the ultimate Buckey Bottom bouncer.
Buckey, awesome having you here.
You are the buccaneer of stocks and warrants! Love your stories and love your insights and intuitions on these wild plays.
Hope to see you here often.
If you have Stockwatch you can search on warrants. I will post my list but I think it is at the office. It is only CDN There is a warrant site in the US but it is a pay site. I really dont trade as much anymore to justify a whole lot of pay sites as I have employees to pay now and companies to run
The first and the third Monday of the Nat post each month
MY big one was Vengold which I had both warrants on the radar and when they announced they were going Internet it went insane I nabbed all I could buying everything in sight from 5c to 20c becaus ethat 20c is normally when you are selling but I knew the power I sold the bulk of them at $2.00.
The rest is history - I think that was early 2000 = March maybe
OU awesome board - YOu know this is my weakness LOL Also made me 50 bags too. MY position on warrants is exactly what I did with my last ones which I lost $1k CDN on. I place money in them fully expecting I will lose it all as they will likely expire worthless as I generally buy them out of the money.
However the leverage they offer can give you many many many bags.
Really was demonst=rtated their pwer was the GLE.WT.A waarrants. GLE - was a very quiet fuell cell company - so Im scanning one day on the TSE and I see maybe 300k traded at 1 cent on them. Anyway I was relatively new to warrants but I knew enough to check the strike price and expiry. So the strike was $1.10 and GLE had traded by appointment for months at $1.00 and there was two weeks until expiry - I add it to the ticker - There is a 100k lot for sale at 1c - I pass. GLE announced results and a deal with GM division and by expiry the stock hit $10 and actually hit $14 a dayt after the expiry. I know because I played it that day. I would even post the date but I am on one of the kids computers and they are on the big one with the double screens so I cannot access the data. The end result is this those 100k would have cost $1000 and were worth in effect a million a week later.
all you need is one 10 bagger for every 5 complte losses and you double you money.
Globe says SR Telecom warning hits shares
2005-01-20 08:54 ET - In the News
The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday edition that SR Telecom has warned of losses in its fourth and first quarters, blaming delays in orders for its telecommunications equipment and lower production on dwindling credit. The unbylined item says the Montreal-based company also said it had entered into a non-binding letter of intent from a major U.S. lender for a five-year revolving senior secured credit facility worth up to $50-million. Shares in the company sank by nearly a third on the Toronto Stock Exchange after the announcement. Blaming unexpected delays in receiving purchase orders under existing contracts and the delay of some shipments into the first quarter, SR Telecom forecast fourth-quarter revenue between $22-million and $25-million. The company also said it will not break even in its core wireless business in the quarter, generating instead a "significant loss." It also warned of a "significant" first-quarter loss, on the basis of EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization). SR Telecom said a reduction in available supplier credit crimped raw material purchases, resulting in a production slowdown. Cash reserves are $6.9-million.

Buckey, I know you are pretty big on warrants judging from your SI Board that I follow closely. Can you tell me what page the warrants are on in the Monday edition of the National POst? Is it every Monday?
TIA
ou
