Vrnm is still above the BB and is now flirting with the resistance levels, But I think shes got enough fire in her to break through. If she does break over, its gonna take off like a rocket! If anyone can explain to me how to post a chart I will, so yall can see what im talking about.
I tried buying more at $5.00 today but never got it. Putting in an order at $5.09 for monday morning (my average is at $6.00, been sitting on these shares a long time).
I tried posting a chart so yall can see what I was talking about, but I can't figure out how to do it...
[img][/img]
Vrnm is currently over-extended above the upper BB. therefore i expect a slight pullback for profit taking tommorrow. then we continue our rally
VRNM LOOKING GOOD AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!
MACD over EMA
HEAVY volume
STRONG support around 4.29!!!
long vrnm. target at 6.00 in 2 months
and WHOOMP! Down it went!
cha-ching! don't you wish they were all this easy to short and cover so quick!
VRNM is a virtual cash machine to short!
Merry X-mas!
This looked like a good time to go in for a run up. Pumped up by Fool, shorted after the quick bounce caused by Fool, but most probably a rebound now. In for the mid to long run. Quality investment IMO after some DD.
well we'll see......hopefully we'll see a better rise this time
so can make some serious $ the bigger the rise
the better the fall historically
I love it
haha I truly doubt your timing is that perfect...this is nothing like the .40 cents increases and decreases we have had. Something is up...and we are looking really good to continue
shorted and covered already
looking to go again.......these are money in the bank
sell on the rise and cover when it dumps
Sure hope you weren't short last week.....very nice increase the last few days. Should continue with DOE inc soon! IMO
another good reason to short it anytime it gets pumped and goes up
then cover when it takes the fall in sp that always follows
In case you folks weren't aware (I was not until today) Vinod Khosla is a major investor in VRNM. I find it very interesting, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verenium
looks like it could be time to short this one again
before it crashes back down
8K released today looks good IMO. Could be the strat of a nice uptrend here. Tim
talk about your long term investment......Ouch!
there's some others already going under
imo, only the big boys are going to own this.......
not many small mavericks will make it all the way
so picking that one or two is going to be tough, imo......
but hey.....as long as they keep hyping it
and it pops up......and creates a shorting opportunity....
who am I to complain
I got news today+ email on what a great opportunity 15,000% by 2022 sounds like a laugh on this board.
does anyone think this stock could eventually go to $10?
actually hope they come out with news again
so it pops up again
will short it again because it's sure to drop like a rock after
You are counting on news being delayed. The original date was due to Novemeber so shorting it was a bad idea. When the delay news came out sure...short it. But the risk before that was not worth it.
remember when at the last spike I said short it......
$5.10 was a great price to do it at
buy back now is cheap and easy
I am not big into shorting and with a company like VRNM you are playing with fire. Now would be a good time to short as it looks like DOE is not due until 1Q. But until they spoke about it we had no idea when the news would come out. If you short you can get caught and lose all of your shorting gains in an instant. This is for companies that are dependant on announcements such as VRNM and HEB. They both have Catalysts that can spike the shareprice 100-200% in an instant.
which is why shorting it is a great play
money in the bank
afterall, why let the big sharks make all the $
Delays can kill a stock especially on something as crucial as the DOE loan. The plan was to break ground in the 1Q 2010...now we are looking to get the loan 1Q...so that is changing the timeframe around. I also got out around 4.75 but will be back in around December on hopefully tax loss selling. Should be a perfect time to pick up a big chunk in the 3's. I hate DELAYS...I am also in HEB and it is getting crushed due to delays by the FDA.
I have this POS in my 401k, just going to forget about it and hope it climbs in the years to come. long term hold at this point.
Ok Out-of-here-at-60%-loss. Will-be-back-at-around-.60-same-it-was at the RS
That was my plan, but I saw a much more compelling nearterm opportunity with URST.OB, which is gearing up to define a world scale low-cost vanadium mine. Similar market cap to VRNM, only around $40 mil! :) I may be back with VRNM later on.
thought you were hanging in long term......
imo, you did the smart thing though
Yes they do, over 95% of the time a stock will drop down exactly to what it was before the split
But hey....short it and make some cool hard cash!
I cut my 5% loses yesterday at 4.62 Just didn't look good in the nearterm. :(
Gotta love those Reverse Splits-Kill a stock everytime-kiss of death for shareholders. Go F yourself Mr. CEO
i see.., thank u
In the meantime......it's money in the bank!
just short it on the spikes.....and sell back on the lows
very quick 10%-15%+ gains and it adds up fast the way this is happening
and if it ever does pan out into something solid
you can take the profits and buy a lot more when that happens
or just take the money and run if it bellyflops

Oct 23, 2009 15:29 ET Timing Is Everything! Infocast's Cellulosic Biofuels Summit Coincides With the Dawn of a New Era in American Renewable Fuels
Leading Companies in the Cellulosic Biofuels Arena to Present New Proof of the Potential for Commercial Scale Production
LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - October 23, 2009) - Infocast's Cellulosic Biofuels Summit will return to Washington, DC, November 16-19, for its 4th annual edition -- and the timing couldn't be better! An October 15th article in the New York Times confirmed that the promise of cellulosic biofuels is firing on all cylinders as a growing number of companies are making the leap from start-ups to small-scale production, with the realization of commercial-scale production increasingly within feasible reach.
"Across the country, start-up companies and major corporations are trying to produce ethanol without relying on food crops the way corn-based ethanol does. The results of all this effort are starting to show. Pilot facilities are going up, companies are testing their product lines and, increasingly, it is possible to visit real plants and see production methods that appear to be working," observes reporter, Matthew L. Wald in the New York Times.
This year's four-day Summit will take place November 16-19, 2009 at the Almas Temple including over a dozen solo presentations by leading companies in the cellulosic biofuels arena as led by Keynote Presenter, Dr. Kristina M. Johnson, the Under Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy.
This Summit's first day will be devoted to a Finance & Investment Forum on Monday, November 16. The Summit follows on November 17 & 18 and will feature 70+ speakers from players representing the entire biofuels value chain with over a dozen status reports by leading developers such as Iogen, Coskata, Inc., DuPont Danisco, Verenium, Range Fuels, BlueFire Ethanol and Mendel Biotechnology as well as special presentations from BP Biofuels and the Environmental Protection Agency. The Summit will conclude on November 19 with the Feedstock Supply Chain Forum.

A little disappointed by the delay in the DOE, but everything with VRNM has a bright future. I might take 50% off the table until next year as I don't want to have a ton of funds in while it hovers from $4.50-$5.50. I am not any less bullish on the stock as it was a great presentation, but it appears we have some time before the big annoucement.
I am impressed to hear of the potential support by the administration and industry for up to 16 billion gallons/year of ethanol. Thats a gross of $40 billion dollars, and it looks very likely that Verendium will participate in a significant portion of those gross ethanol sales.
Also, their enzymatic business is growing at 7% a year, and that proprietary part of the company could be worth 2x the current market cap of the company today. There's a lot of timeliness in getting their technology and factory production to commercial market today and probably in the next 5-10 years, so this stock will probably do very well in the nearterm.
Listen to today's conf presentation. The speaker said that the DOE conditional committement won't be complete until 1Q of next year. So the schedule has slipped a bit.
Verenium presents today at BIOCOM Investor at 1:30 pm EST
Oct 26, 2009 Live today at 2009 BIOCOM Investor Conference
http://ir.verenium.com/events.cfm
wow, things are gearing up
a pure biodiesel is another much needed product
My guess is Nov 18-19th at the Cellusoic Biofuel conference. I think we hear from DOE then.

Looks like there is competion in this evolving space. But competition is good for innovation.
http://www.technologyreview.com/Biztech/19128/#afteradbody
the very best competition going against them is a private company in CO
it has zero debt....doing everything with private funds and grants
They developed a bacteria/microbe etc that produces 100% pure gasoline....burns clean
and I do mean pure....so all the benefits and BTU output
and without the impurities we get with refining oil
I know if I ever get the chance to invest in it in any form
which is something I've been working on, to get in as a private investor
I'll back up and load the truck
they're being extremely quiet while they build their larger model test plant
they will make ethanol plants 100% obsolete, a fad like the hoola hoop
I posted on it a long time ago when they first hit the local news here in CO
and they've been extremely hush hush ever since
I do know they're on track and moving forward steady
and so far they've managed to keep all the big oil players out
so am not about to share any more info beyond this
because this is where I want MY $ invested
and not about increase the competition
it would be the one time investment of a lifetime
Trinity what is the competition you speak of? I would like to do some DD and possibly purchase them also depending on factors. All the DD I have done points to VRNM being the best investment when considering public companies.

Verenium Facilities
Located on a 140-acre company-owned site are Verenium’s Pilot and Demostration-scale plants.
Pilot Plant:
Verenium operates a cellulosic ethanol pilot plant, a real-time research and development facility, in Jennings, Louisiana. Opened in 1999, the facility was capable of CF hemicellulose fermentations. During 2006 the company completed extensive upgrades on the pilot facility, enabling it to conduct combined C5 and C6 fermentations. The Jennings pilot facility is capable of processing approximately two tons of biomass per day into ethanol. It is operated as an R&D facility to improve the company’s process technology and to validate the company’s process on a wide variety of biomass feedstocks.
Demonstration Plant:
Next door to the pilot facility, Verenium has recently achieved mechanical completion of a 1.4 million gallon per year demonstration-scale plant - the first of its kind in the nation. Over the next few months, more than forty separate systems will be electronically energized. Operating teams have begun evaluations, and the project will move to validate the implementation of Verenium’s process and technology. By year-end, Verenium will move to fully optimize the demonstration plant.
Commercial Projects:
Preparations are being made for Verenium’s first commercial-scale facilities, which are expected to produce 30 million gallons of ethanol per year. With the optimization of Verenium’s pilot and demo plants, the commercial plant development program is underway. Currently, a variety of sites are being explored for plant development in Florida, Louisiana, and Texas.
Osaka, Japan:
In addition, the Company’s process technology has been licensed by Tokyo-based Marubeni Corp. and Tsukishima Kikai Co., LTD and has been incorporated into BioEthanol Japan’s 1.4 million liter-per-year cellulosic ethanol plant in Osaka, Japan -- the world’s first commercial-scale plant to produce cellulosic ethanol from wood construction waste.
Developing A Pipeline of Commercial Projects Implementing First-Generation Cellulosic Ethanol Technology
Verenium is advancing the strategic development of a pipeline of sites in the Gulf region of the U.S. for its first series of commercial facilities.
Verenium’s Commercial Development team is actively working on developing a series of projects for 30 to 60 million gallon per year commercial-scale cellulosic ethanol facilities in the US Gulf region. Ultimately, the Company plans to expand its development globally, however, its initial focus is in the Gulf region, given the proximity to areas with strong growing conditions for high biomass dedicated energy crops and in some cases sugarcane bagasse.
As projects are being developed, critical areas of activity will focus on site feasibility, permitting, feedstock supply agreements, other commercial agreements, and financing. The current projects that the Company has under development in the Gulf region have the following key attributes:
Energy crops and sugar cane bagasse feedstocks
Local agricultural partners
Good logistical interfaces
Potential options for co-locating with other facilities
Partnerships are key
As the Company continues to develop commercial projects, bringing partners into the mix will be a critical component of the overall strategy. The goals of these partnership arrangements will be to bring additional, specialized skills into the value chain, particularly in the areas of agronomics, engineering and construction, and marketing / off take as a means for helping to both de-risk and accelerate the development of each project.
Verenium expects to continue to advance a pipeline of multiple sites, and to have its first commercial plant ready for construction by the middle of 2009.
