I agree, VOO is the best Low Cost Index fund!! Warren Buffett even recommends it for his wife after he passes, to put 90% of the money into it!! Great fund and so low cost!! Enjoy your profits!! : )
This is, imo, the best low cost index fund.
Heck, THE BEST index fund as it beats to he pricey funds.
Just keep track of trends, take profits, etc
If you go to the ten year chart you’ll see the evident gains for patient holders. That’s my argument. It’s also recommended by Buffett! Time IN THE MARKET NOT timing the market, as Buffett says!
Can you back that up with some data and information about why it is such a good time to buy? You just own some of this stock?
Recent news about index funds does not look so bright at the moment.

grabed some shares here again for short term, look for tech bounce next few days
toook a position finally on that flash dip today, should be a nice short term and long term trade, market will get a short term bounce before tapering off again
Stock futures soaring this eve, should be a great market day tomorrow!! : )
Try VTI, Vanguard Total Stock Market fund. It is very broad and you can look it up to see what all its in. Very diversified!
I have invested in a few shares of Voo, now what should I invest in next????
VOO—- best investment around, recommended by Warren Buffett!!
The QQQ is now very heavily weighted to a handful of NASDAQ stocks, especially Apple, and could be quite risky in a bear market:
"the relative performance of this handful of names has been rather pronounced this year. In fact, the five largest weightings in the index, the "Fast Five" — Apple, Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, and Facebook — have increased an average of 22 percent this year, and they now comprise nearly 42 percent of the entire Nasdaq-100!

That story is very eye opening thank you! Yes our Fidelity managed funds true may be closet indexers. I know the fees for managed funds are in general higher than for VOO index fund, but Fidelity does have some of the lowest fees in the industry, well under 1%. We are paying the fees to be able to sleep at night and knowing they are properly asset allocated plus include bonds to hedge against a market downturn. Overall we are78% in equities. But it is true VOO is outperforming the managed funds by a small margin! I’m happy to have a good chunk in VOO and will look into QQQ as you said thanks!
Read about "Closet Indexing:"
"Closet indexing is often viewed negatively by investors because they could simply choose an index fund and pay lower fees. Not surprisingly, "closet" indexing is so named because these practices are often not publicly announced"

About 33 years ago I decided to move a portion of my stock investing to several mutual funds which I had researched carefully. They had respected management and low fees. But as soon as I bought them each began to lag my expectations.
Around that time I had been reading about the new and little known index funds created by John Bogle at Vanguard. For a year or two I compared the performance of my managed funds with Vanguard's index fund. Consistently the index fund beat my managed funds every quarter, and by a fair margin. Never once did one of my four managed funds come out on top for a three-month period. It was eye-opening; soon I bought into my first index fund.
But friends laughed at me "for accepting mediocre performance."
Since then, all my mutual fund investments have been index funds, mainly S&P 500 but also the QQQ NASDAQ 100 index which has performed spectacularly in recent years.
If your managed funds are keeping up, that may be because many funds nowadays are "closet indexers." That is, their portfolio is very similar to the S&P 500. But they will lag eventually due to their higher fees.
Yes I still own VOO and am up 23% since purchase and it’s just slightly beating our managed funds the ones started at similar time frame LOL!! I’m glad you have owned similar funds now for 30 years NICE JOB!!
Do you still own this fund? I've been in the very similar Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund for 30 years. Also own SPY etf.
