This is NOT to be confused with PSL8. PSL8 is for FEWER and LOWER priced stocks (on average) for SHORTER time frames.
This is an ideal contest for stock picking and TRADING micro/nano's.
This new contest will be for MORE and HIGHER priced stocks (on average for LONGER time frames.
This is an ideal contest for stock picking and HOLDING small, medium or even large caps.
VMC has both types of investors/traders.
This contest is to replace the DD contest (VMC PickOne) for a couple reasons. Both were for a year, but a single stock is more about luck
and reinforces not being diversified. Neither of those are solid investment philosophies and neither will teach us anything IMO.
By thinking longer term, we force ourselves to look at the big picture. And, by picking 10 stocks it forces us to think more in terms of diversification.

Contest Name: VMC Beat The Hank Bank:
Hank (10Bagger) is putting up $1,000 for the winners.
You need pick 10 stocks and identify which of your 10 stocks is your top pick.
Open to anyone who has posted on VMC, ZCC, JRMiner or JREnergy between October 1, 2007 and December 31, 2007 or by special dispensation
from Hank.
Picks are to be placed as a message on this board....
All picks will be "blind" picks. By that, it means they will have to be based upon the person's best guess rather than by seeing what others have done.
When the picks are made, they will be deleted (hidden) from the board. Once the deadline passes, all picks by each person will be shown in the
Ibox like other PSL contests.
The person who gets the highest portfolio (10 stocks) return at the end of the year (December 12th close) will get $500. The person who has the
highest portfolio (10 stocks) return at the halfway point (June 27th close) will get $250. And the person whose top pick performs the best will get $250
- tiebreakers to be determined. Obviously, it could be the same person in all three cases. All payouts will be after the final results on December 12th
and before the New Year.
1) The contest will end on December 12th to coincide with PSL10 for obvious reasons.
2) You must pick 10 stocks that are $1.00 or more on the deadline date - closing price of January 11th. You can pick a stock under $1.00,
however it must have earnings as per VMC earnings guidelines. If over $1.00, it does not need to have earnings.
3) All stocks must be at least 25 cents as of the January 11th close.
4) All stocks must meet the PSL dollar volume requirement of a minimum of $5,000 per day over the most recent three months. A stock will also qualify
if it has 10,000 shares per day over the most recent three months even if it fails to dollar volume requirement.
5) You must identify which stock is your top pick to qualify for that prize.
6) You will be given two freezes. No unfreezes or trades.
7) Freezes can be used for any of your stocks EXCEPT your top pick.
8) Freezes must be posted on this board and will be priced as of the next market close.
9) Only cash dividends of over 10% will be adjusted for. Stock dividends and splits will always be adjusted for.
10) No options, warrants, etfs, cash or shorts. Long stock positions only.
11) Results will be posted weekly.
