Chart pattern getting ready to repeat?
I like to watch for repeating patterns in the charts as a lot of the time they will duplicate themselves. Notice the similarities between the DMI/ADX relationship in May 02 compared to Feb 03? Notice also that the MACD is in the same place. Below 0 means that the overall market sentiment is still Negative. Also notice that preceeding most of the declining periods the MACD has seen lower levels at which it topped? If the next Negative MACD crossunder occurs below 0 then I would anticipate that we see another new Low. Also keep an eye out to see if the DMI+ can take over the trend by moving above the DMI-. The DMI-/ADX relationship is indicating that we are in a weakening Negative trend, for now. If the DMI+ fails to take over the trend then the Negative trend will continue. JMHO though. :^)

I have become used to watching the SMAs on the charts that Bernard has set up. I actually have not been following the volume at all, though I probably should. The one thing I have been looking for lately on the Bollingers is just the phenomenon of a close above followed by a close below leading to further down in the future. Still not sure if it works for shorter timeframes or the reverse from the lower bollinger. I need to head out for the day. Have a Wonderful Weekend Foot! :^)

Hi Bob,
I noticed your big chart over on another board. You ought to try 3,18,ema on your chart. Trade/stay on the side of the blue line. They will come back and take out the weak hands at that line. Also you can trade the 1 million+ vol spikes usually. This usually is were the tick is above a thousand and the price is outside the BB which usually means a reversal. Just something to watch.

I like that first SPX chart. In following the charts on MKTSS we have only seen the MACD move to -120 a few times before on the 5 day and 10 day charts. For a while we were not sure that it could even go Below -100 but we sure found out that it could <GG>. We like to use the MACD crossovers and crossunders to help with indentifying trade trigger points. You can see on this chart that the MACD crossings were right near reversals. On your long term SPX chart we are still a Long way from a Positive crossover, or a reversal, but could easily move back to test the -100 level. It still does not look good for the markets to reverse out of the longterm downtrends. Hopefully we can continue to be able to trade the bounces with some efficiency. We were talking some in January about just buying 04 Put Leaps and taking the year off. The SPX monthly chart still shows that the trading range has been widening though, for now. Will the yearly downtrend continue this year? We will just have to watch and see what happens Eh? I'll post the links over on MKTSS and see if it stirs up some commentary. Have you been over to Zeev's thread? Is that pay only also?

I will read the other boards though as you seem to know what is going on. In fact, getting over 840, was what I was wondering about. The NDX is close to getting over the 200 and 50 SMA the other day so keep that in mind. John Murphy pointed that out the other day. Is the reason you cannot post multiple charts due to the free account? Posting the links works just as well though. Lans has a good board for Index charts called Charts-Futures and Indexes #board-1557 I am usually on MKTSS #board-41 and have recently posted some on The Darvas Method board #board-1362 Feel free to offer some comments and charts to the MKTSS board. We primarily look at options trades on the indexes but will definitely appreciate any comments on the Markets direction. Can you post there? I am not sure how the different account levels work here on iHub. It looks as though tomorrow we will see if the SPX can break the 840 level or not Eh? We will just have to see. Are there any free stockcharts that use the same indicators you have? I cannot get the stockcharts to post either, the links work fine though.

Been posting over there for a couple of years. Some boards are good some are o.k. I use there format to post my charts each night and have some senseless discussions during the day, am good at those. Anyway I only read one board, the SPY board, the Nasdaq board has some good discussion I think, but sense I never read them just guessing. I like the fact that you can post multiple charts on a post. Just click on Hot! and it should list all of the boards that are actively posting. You can also click on Top Boards from there and it will show the most popular boards. Zeev's thread is by far the most popular. Jenna has a pretty good board but not much conversation. If you are into Penny stocks then try The Golden Lists and check into their chat room or try Five and Under board. What is the CS Spy board? I usually just post on MKTSS board. If you click on anyone you see posting it will show you a list of what boards they have last posted on and that should let you see where some good conversations might be taking place. At least I think that you can still do that with a free membership. Let me know if you are having any trouble looking around and I will be glad to help.

Had some upside after breaking 9000 but the markets want to consolidate before making up there mind. If we break above 962 on the S&P we might get move Upside. Right now it indeed looks like Consolidation.

We have a little activity here in the morning but it looks like we go back into Consolidation mode. Need a Breakout over 962 on the S&P Futures now to move higher. So far it looks as though the markets are being fairly Cautious here.

Profits are Good Trader!
All I did was Watch today. I am not much of a Trader and still getting over a mistake I made last week that was costly. Too gun shy to trade anything for a while. Did the S&P turning points fall in line somewhat with the turning points on the Dow from the indexpulse.com charts? We still do not have a good read on the S&P chart there. Looks like the turning points for the NDX were near the same as the Dow's. This HOD at EOD now has us looking at a possible Breakout tomorrow but could Easily gap back Down in the AM. For now it looks as though the Uptrend will continue. Let's see what tomorrow brings! :^)

Rats! Was hoping you had trailing stop
When I saw SPY selling above 95.60 I was hoping that you had moved your stop up. Markets are back to where they could go either way again tomorrow. Definitely Safest to not hold overnight. A LOD at EOD and at Support might once again be a good Call trigger though. Too much risk for me as I am gun shy from earlier in the week.

Markets are heading South now and might just continue to sell into the Close, maybe. FTSI bounced back some until 3 PM and then continued to Sell off. Question today is whether the markets will follow the FTSI lead or Not.

Hi Trader,
I am still just Watching here. Had 8800 targeted for Dow Support but did not act on it. The market finding support back above 8850 looks like it would have been a Good Call trigger also. Did you wait for the reversal to get in and at what levels were you looking at if you do not mind? It looked to me that the S&P Emini Futures finding Support back above 935 was the trigger. What did you see? TIA, Bob :^)
BTW, I think this might be the HOD, maybe.

Still have not seen the Breakout from the Dow or the S&P Futures but the Nasdaq is moving Higher. Just waiting to see if the Dow and S&P will do the same. Will we have a HOD at EOD? :^)
