you're right! very sick! I guess no place is really even safe.
I feel so bad for this girl's parents. I would be going out of my mind. You send your kid off to college not expecting some assholes to shoot and kill them over their vehicle.
makes me totally ill
Bunch of crazies out their. Some guy just shot 5 people and left one dead at a Wendy's this week down here. Killed a fireman who actually left the store but went back inside to exchange his 5 year olds toy. He was married with 5 children 42 years old.
Gunman kills 1, then self, at Wendy's
5 wounded in attack that Florida police describe as random
Brian Skoloff, Associated Press
Tuesday, March 4, 2008
(03-04) 04:00 PST West Palm Beach, Fla. --
A gunman in a jacket and tie wordlessly opened fire inside a Wendy's during the lunchtime rush Monday, killing a paramedic and wounding five others. The 60-year-old shooter then committed suicide.
"This was not a robbery. He didn't demand anything," said Paul Miller, a Palm Beach County sheriff's spokesman. "Looks like this was just another random shooting like we've seen around the United States."
The 42-year-old victim, Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue Lt. Rafael Vazquez, who was not in uniform, had met his wife and child at the restaurant during a break in training down the street, Deputy Fire-Rescue Chief Steve Delai said. The family had gotten their food and walked out, but Vazquez returned because the wrong free toy had been included in the kids' meal ordered by his child, detectives said.
"Our officer probably didn't even see him," Delai said of the gunman, Alburn Edward Blake.
Miller said Blake had no relation to anyone at the restaurant and had never worked for Wendy's, and authorities had not found any notes. "We don't know why he picked this location to do this horrible deed," he said.
The mayhem unfolded just after noon during the lunch-hour rush at the restaurant on a major suburban road lined with strip malls, car dealerships and fast-food restaurants, about 5 miles from downtown West Palm Beach. A billboard advertising an upcoming gun show stands just behind the Wendy's.
Blake entered the restaurant and went to a restroom before coming out brandishing a 9mm handgun, Miller said. About 10 to 15 people were in the restaurant at the time, he said.
Ashley Milton, 28, said she had just opened the door to get lunch when she heard the "pop pop" of gunfire and saw people running.
"I really didn't think that's what it was. I thought this can't be happening," she said.
Josh Maynard, 30, said he and his 20-year-old brother, Jerry, hit the floor when the well-dressed gunman opened fire. Jerry Maynard said the shooter held his gun sideways and said nothing.
The gunman went to the counter, Miller said, shooting Vazquez before slowly turning to his left and firing on others.
Three of the survivors were critically wounded, but all had improved and were hospitalized in stable condition Monday evening, Miller said. They included a 43-year-old man, a 16-year-old girl, a 65-year-old man and his 62-year-old wife. One person was injured while running away.
Motorists at the drive-thru window also fled, some leaving their vehicles running.
One customer kicked the pistol away from the gunman after he'd shot himself, then started first aid on the wounded, Miller said.
Bob Bertini, a Wendy's Inc. spokesman based in Dublin, Ohio, called the shooting "a senseless tragedy."
yeah really sad because it was right on campus and they think it was just a random crime. It happened right around the corner from my condo and there's hardly ever any violent crime in this area :(
That's the school my oldest wants to attend because they have the BEST girl's soccer program.
Here's a video of her in Ecuador where she she volunteered over the summer. Sad someone with such a good heart to be taken away so young.

UNC student president found slain
CHAPEL HILL - A young woman found shot to death in an intersection in the Hillcrest neighborhood early Wednesday was the student body president at UNC-Chapel Hill, police said today.
Police identified the dead woman as Eve Marie Carson, 22, of Athens, Ga., a Morehead-Cain scholar and a senior. They have made no arrests and have no suspects.
Investigators are looking for Carson's stolen 2005 blue Toyota Highlander with Georgia license plate AIV 6690. They believe the vehicle was taken during the crime.
Town Police Chief Brian Curran said police have no motive for the killing. "At this point what I'm thinking, what it feels like, is a fairly random crime," Curran said.
Carson was last seen alive at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Curran said.
As student body president, Carson served on the UNC-Chapel Hill Board of Trustees. She spent the spring semester of 2006 on a UNC Study Abroad program in Cuba and later studied in Ecuador. A member of the academic excellence society Phi Beta Kappa, Carson was majoring in political science and biology and hoped to go to medical school.
Officers found Carson's body lying in the intersection of Hillcrest Road and Hillcrest Circle before dawn Wednesday when they responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire.
She had been shot multiple times, including at least once in the head, said Lt. Kevin Gunter of the Chapel Hill Police Department. She carried no identification, prompting an all-out effort by police and university officials to identify her.
The idyllic Hillcrest neighborhood lies east of Franklin Street between downtown and University Mall.
Chapel Hill Mayor Kevin Foy said the community was shaken. "We've suffered a tragic loss today, and our community is in shock and grief," he said.
"Eve Carson was a person who touched lives throughout this town and campus. She was happy, vivacious, intelligent, engaged and a presence in our community whose absence leaves a permanent void in our hearts and in our lives."
UNC-CH Chancellor James Moeser issued a statement calling Carson a "wonderful person and great friend."
"We are deeply saddened and numb with grief," he said.
Moeser will address students and faculty at 3 p.m. at Polk Place, at the center of campus. Counselors will be available until 11 p.m. today to the Student Academic Services Building and in the Carolina Union.
"I know how difficult it will be to begin to comprehend something so tragic," Moeser said in the statement. "Please, as you gather your thoughts and prayers, think of Eve's parents, family and friends."
Really sad - they think it's a car jacking

Chapel Hill, N.C. — Chapel Hill police have identified a woman found dead near the University of North Carolina campus Wednesday morning as the university's student body president.
Eve Carson, 22, a UNC senior and biology major, was found shot multiple times in the head about a half-mile from campus.
Police have also issued a bulletin for Carson's vehicle, a blue 2005 Toyota Highlander with Georgia license plate AIV-6690.
Officers spent most of Wednesday and Thursday morning following up and searching for leads in the case.

GEORGE CARLIN'S NEW RULES FOR 2008
New Rule: No more gift registries. You know, it used to be just for
weddings. Now it's for babies and new homes and graduations from
rehab. Picking out the stuff you want and having other people buy it
for you isn't gift giving, it's the white people version of looting.
New Rule: Stop giving me that pop-up ad for classmates.com! There's a
reason you don't talk to people for 25 years. Because you don't
particularly like them! Besides, I already know what the captain of
the football team is doing these days --- mowing my lawn.
New Rule: Don't eat anything that's served to you out a window unless
you're a seagull. People are acting all shocked that a human finger
was found in a bowl of Wendy's chili. Hey, it cost less than a dollar.
What did you expect it to contain? Lobster?
New Rule: Stop saying that teenage boys who have sex with their hot,
blonde teachers are permanently damaged . I have a better description
for these kids: 'Lucky bastards.'
New Rule: If you need to shave and you still collect baseball cards,
you're a dope. If you're a kid, the cards are keep sakes of your
idols. If you're a grown man, they're pictures of men.
New Rule: Ladies, leave your eyebrows alone. Here's how much men care
about your eyebrows: Do you have two of them? Good, we're done.
New Rule:There's no such thing as flavored water. There's a whole
aisle of this crap at the supermarket, water, but, without that watery
taste. Sorry, but flavored water is called a soft drink. You want
flavored water? Pour some scotch over ice and let it melt. That's your
flavored water.
New Rule: Stop screwing with old people. Target is introducing a
redesigned pill bottle that's square, with a bigger label. And the top
is now the bottom. And by the time grandpa figures out how to open it,
his ass will be in the morgue. Congratulations, Target, you just
solved the Social Security crisis.
New Rule: The more complicated the Starbucks order, the bigger the
asshole. If you walk into a Starbucks and order a 'decaf grandee,
half-soy, half-low fat, iced vanilla, double-shot, gingerbread
cappuccino, extra dry, light ice, with one Sweet-n'-Low, and One
NutraSweet,' ooooh, you're a huge asshole.
New Rule: I'm not the cashier! By the time I look up from sliding my
card, entering My PIN number, pressing 'Enter,' verifying the amount,
deciding, no, I don't want Cash back, and pressing 'Enter' again, the
kid who is supposed to be ringing me up is standing there eating my
Almond Joy.
New Rule: Just because your tattoo has Chinese characters in it
doesn't make you Spiritual. It's right above the crack of your ass.
And it translates to 'beef with broccoli.' The last time you did
anything spiritual, you were praying to God you weren't pregnant.
You're not spiritual. You're just high.
New Rule: Competitive eating isn't a sport. It's one of the seven
deadly sins. ESPN Recently televised the U.S. Open of Competitive
Eating, because watching those athletes at the poker table was just
too damned exciting. What's next, competitive farting? Oh wait,
they're already doing that. It's called 'The Howard Stern Show.'
New Rule: I don't need a bigger mega M&Ms. If I'm extra hungry for
M&Ms, I'll go nuts and eat two.
New Rule: If you're going to insist on making movies based on crappy
old television shows, then you have to give everyone in the Cineplex a
remote so we can see what's playing on the other screens. Let's
remember the reason something was a television show in the first place
is that the idea wasn't good enough to be a movie.
New Rule: And this one is long overdue: No more bathroom attendants.
After I zip up, some guy is offering me a towel and a mint like I just
had sex with George Michael. I can't even tell If he's supposed to be
there, or just some freak with a fetish. I don't want to be on your
webcam, Dude. I just want to wash my hands
New Rule: When I ask how old your toddler is, I don't need to hear '27
months.' 'He's two' will do just fine. He's not a cheese. And I didn't
really care in the first place.
New Rule: If you ever hope to be a credible adult and want a job that
pays better than Minimum wage, then for God's sake don't pierce or
tattoo every available piece of flesh. If so, then plan your future
around saying, 'Do you want fries with that?'
I will be rooting for your Giants on Sunday! That being said, I will be rooting more for my squares. Don't know my numbers yet, but picked up 5 $50 squares last night.
Yep, super-agreed!
LMAO! too funny!!! lol
This sums it up
I think Giant's defense is going to put the mojo on them!
IMO they should go after Tom Brady's foot in the first quarter and knock him out!
oh that was evil! lol
Giants are going in as underdogs and pumped. Gonna be a lot of pressure on the Pats. Giants did very good against them last game. Hell, they lead most of the game and only lost by 3. Gonna be a great game!
It would be one hell of an upset, GO GIANTS!!!!
Well look what the cat drug in, its been a while....
Whats up dude? Yeah, good stuff for sure!
that's pretty damned good!

Thanks Bill, Giants ruuuuuule!
IRISH, congrats to your Giants! Just crawling out of my cave now, buty thinking of crawling right back in for the night. two and a half days on a Vegas Bender can take a bit out of anyone, even me. I must say, I took a picture of my pile of $100 bills and it is a beautiful thing! One of those great trips where you just keep winning. Of course, they can go the other way too!
Goodness, the chicago media is as off base as some other crazies I have seen around lately. Now, the media is reporting today how great the IL smoking ban has been working and how few violations have been reported! "This shows the people of IL really wanted this ban"
Oh please! was at two polish bars last weekend that were filled with smoke and many of the other bars have been allowing smoking in the bathrooms. Glad some people can convinve themselves of anything. Meantime, until the state stopps oppressing me, I have to find a way to get these polish people to understand the real football we play here is much more exciting than thier game of kick the can. Quite the problem weighing smoking in the bar and watching soccer vs having to go to another bar and smoke outside, but having the Playoffs on. Of course the bartenders and the fact they let me watch the Blakhawks later kept me kn the polish bar for some time.
Some political fun for ya. Me, I was given Duncan Hunter as my man!
Subject: Who is your presidential candidate - This is very interesting]
You may have to copy and paste the link for it to work.
Try it. You might be surprised who you match up with.
Are you thinking about next year's election? Have you already made up your mind? Are you still deciding?
Try this fascinating website !
It takes about 1-2 minutes.
If you are still having trouble deciding who to vote for in 2008, this will compare your answers with all upcoming candidates.
I found this to be of interest ... It did not select the candidate I had expected!
Click on the website below

I'm sure you'll want to pass this along to family and friends ... I suggest you do it without disclosing who your candidate was before and after the survey!
IRISH, in all seriousness, how close do you think the Giants can stay to Green Bay? Going to bet by the line right around game time on Sunday in Vegas.
I must admit, I do not have too favorable of an opinion of Eli. To me, he is barely an upgrade of Grossman. They both seem to have some disconnect in their heads that makes them make stupid decisions at just the wrong time.
We will see. I will be in Vegas on a bender for the games, so will be having fun either way!
Giants are gonna sideline him next week ;)
Got rid of them Cowboys which is very nice indeed. Gotta side against you next week though. Even though I am a Bears Fan, I have to give credit to Brett Favre! Plain and simple a QB who has not missed a start after all these years is a flat out stud and deserves the respect!
Nice highlights of the game hehehe
that's soooooooooooo EVIL
but HOT
LOL......sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
Giants balling' Dem Cowboys
A real nail biter! Great game and GOOOOOOOO GIANTS!!!!
yo irish...nice game hey....weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
