Haunted Forest of Romania | Hoia Baciu
April 16, 2012
Transylvania and the surrounding areas of Romania have always been associated with paranormal things. Rather than talk about the obvious werewolf and vampire tales associated with the area, there is another lesser known yet very real place in Romania that has frightened locals and baffled investigators for centuries.
The Haunted Forest, known as Hoia Baciu has many stories that go along with it. Stories range from ghosts and spirits to ufo‘s. Visitors to the forest have frequently experienced nausea, disorientation and other physical ailments. ufo sightings have also been commonly associated with the area and there is no shortage of reports involving Ghosts and apparitions. Many people claim to have photographed the strange phenomenon at Hoia Baciu.
One of the strangest things about the Haunted Romanian Forest is the geology. Within the forest is a strange circle that no plant life will grow in. Soil tests have not been able to explain the phenomenon, as they seem to match the surrounding soil. However, the lifeless circle is there and usually at the center of paranormal tales from the forest. Heightened electromagnetic fields also seem to be present at Hoia Baciu.
One of the most commonly reported experiences in the forest is a mysterious light (or lights) that seem to have no explanation. The lights have been seen by many, yet there are still no answers as to what they are and where they originate. Disembodies voices are also heard regularly and many locals believe that if you wander into the Hoia Baciu forest..You will never return. One can’t help but to wonder what the history of this forest may be and why such strong paranormal activity is associated with this relatively small patch of earth in Romania.
The expedition of the Destination Truth team into the forest yielded one of the best episodes to date, with one of the crew members seemingly being attacked and thrown through the air. The team also managed to capture the mystery lights of Hoia Baciu on film while there.
Searches for the history of this haunted forest do not return many results. It has only become widely known since the 1960?s, but apparently locals have avoided the land and associated it with evil for centuries. So what is the explanation for Hoia Baciu? Is there something that history has forgotten about the strange forest? Is this forest filled with ghosts, spirits and evil as locals suggest? Or are ufo‘s to blame, as some have suggested? There are other places on earth that seem to share “lifeless circles” similar to Hoia Baciu. One famous example is “The Devil’s Tramping Ground” in NC, that has also remained unexplained for generations.
Although we may never solve the mystery of Hoia Baciu, it will most likely forever remain one of the most mysterious and creepy places on earth, for those brave enough to enter the most haunted forest in Romania.

Yes that one was fake for sure... The black mass moves with the camera. I watch alot of these and some are hard to prove one way or anther but, if it was the same user i am now conviced its fake.
In your opinion do you think that was real? Looked like it would be pretty easy to fake that. Look at this video by the same user, this is definitely fake, imo...

I wanted to watch it but, had overcast in western Pa.
Off topic but, did anyone witness Venus passing in front of the Sun? It won't happen again until 2117. Due to the shit weather in SWFL yesterday, I missed it. If the sky was clear, I would've had a great view.

Me too. It's cool how she can have a sketch artist draw what she sees and it's pretty much spot on with what the real people looked like.
I love The Dead Files. Never miss it...
Anybody catch the last couple episodes of My Ghost Story?
Anybody ever watch The Dead Files?

I've looked at alot of them. I believe in the Paranormal but, have a hard time believing anyone's story on these sites.
Paranormal is a tough topic. Nobody wants to really talk about it.
If I had the time and resources though... I would love to explore known haunted places.
Man's arrogancy, clouds his mind. IMO
Geeze - I was surprised to see all the links when I goggled "paranormal news"........anyone have a favorite or investigated them at all???? TIA
Teen Stabbing Suspect: Ouija Board Said Do It
MCALLEN, Texas — A Texas teenager charged in the stabbing of his 14-year-old friend said a Ouija board told him to carry out the attack, police said on Friday.
The 15-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after stabbing his friend with a 4-inch knife on Feb. 29 in a wooded area behind a high school in Weslaco, a small town along the U.S.-Mexico border at the southern tip of Texas.
The victim was treated in intensive care for three days for a severe laceration to his intestine, Weslaco police spokesman J.P. Rodriguez said.
The alleged assailant, whose name was not made public, has no history of mental problems or criminal behavior, Rodriguez said.
"I'm not making excuses for the kid, but I think sometimes it's harder for them to separate reality from fiction," the police spokesman said. "This is kind of bizarre."
After stabbing him, the boy took his friend to a nearby auto repair shop so the owner could call an ambulance, Rodriguez said.
A third boy said that he witnessed the stabbing, and that his knife-wielding friend told the victim to say he fell on the blade, according to police.
Marketed by Hasbro, the Ouija board has a flat surface marked with letters, numbers and symbols. It is used in a seance game that is said to help players communicate with the dead.
Rodriguez called the case "a little eerie" but said investigators believe the boy used the Ouija board to rationalize the attack.
"He actually believed what the Ouija board advised him, that the friend was the cause of his problems," Rodriguez said. "That's kind of the incredible part."

Hauntings of Waverly Hills Sanatorium
With 64,000 deaths under its belt its no wonder why Waverly Hills is considered to be one of the most haunted insane asylums haunted insane asylums in the country. As if death wasn’t enough to cause a haunting it has also been speculated that satanic rituals have taken place with in it’s walls.
Here are a few well known occurrences at Waverly:
Main Entrance:
An elderly women is often seen, in spectral form, crying for help, bleeding with her wrist and ankles chained.
The Third Floor:
It is said, depending on who is speaking, that either a ghostly little boy (Robert) or girl (Mary) haunts the third floor. Often times people report seeing this ghostly apparition playing with a ball; others have only heard the ball bouncing on the floor or down the stairs.
The Roof:
The faint voices of Children are often heard singing “ring a round the rosie” on the roof.
The Fifth Floor & Room 502:
Stories say that in 1928, the head nurse in Room 502 was found dead in her room. She had committed suicide by hanging herself from the light fixture. She was 29 years-old at the time of her death and allegedly, unmarried and pregnant. Her depression over the situation led her to take her own life. It’s unknown how long she may have been hanging in this room before her body was discovered.
Then in 1932, another nurse who worked in Room 502 was said to have jumped from the roof patio and plunged several stories to her death. No one seems to know why she would have done this but many have speculated that she may have actually have been pushed over the edge. There are no records to indicate this but rumors continue to persist. It is reported that people have seen her full body apparition on this floor. Feelings of despair are often times felt in this area as well as voice growling “get out”!
The Fourth Floor:
The fourth floor is regarded as one of the most creepy, scary and “active” areas in the hospital. Doors are reported to slam for no apparent reason in an area of the fourth floor that is off limits to human occupants due to the unsafe nature of the area. Ghostly shadow like silhouettes are also said to be seen lurking the halls in this area as well.
I thought so too.
Damn creepy...lol
Emails from dead man’s account helping family and friends find closure
When Jack Froese, 32, died of a heart arrhythmia in June 2011, he left behind a number of grieving friends and family members. But the BBC reports that several mysterious posthumous emails from Froese's account have brought some happiness and closure to those who were closest to him.
Last November, five months after Froese's death, his childhood best friend Tim Hart received an email from Froese's account.
"One night in November, I was sitting on my couch, going through my emails on my phone and it popped up, 'sender: Jack Froese.' I turned ghost white when I read it," Hart told the BBC. "It was very quick and short but to a point that only Jack and I could relate on."
The email had the subject heading, "I'm Watching." While the text of the message itself read, "Did you hear me? I'm at your house. Clean your f***ing attic!!!"
Hart says that shortly before Froese's death, the two had a private conversation in Hart's attic, during which Froese teased him over the attic's messy state. "Just he and I up there. That's it," Hart said.
Froese's cousin Jimmy McGraw also claims to have received a posthumous email from Froese, warning him about an ankle injury that occurred after his cousin's death.
"I'd like to say Jack sent it, just because I look at it as he's gone, but he's still trying to connect with me. Trying to tell me to move along, to feel better," McGraw said.
For now, the source of the emails remains a mystery. But that's OK with Hart, who says that even if the emails are coming from a cruel prankster who has hacked Froese's account, he doesn't mind. "If somebody's joking around, I don't care because I take it whatever way I want," he said.

I wanted to ask my buddy some more questions but, I just didn't feel too comfortable doing so.
Well, they did come over to eat at our place and did ask them if anything else ever happened like that there and they said no, and that they had another cat earlier but it did not do that.....
The construct...the filter you see the world thru is the first to go. You see energy in its uninterpreted form although it's still colored by what you believe deeply. It's here where you "decide" whether to take the next step or go back......unless you're mortally wounded of course. Then there is no choice.
Yogis and others attempt to reach that state of mind without the threat of death. They die to the "You".
Kinda gives you a clue to what dying is all about.
I spoke to an old friend of mine that was clinicly dead for 93 minutes. He said it was like he was tripping on LSD.
He said he didn't know what to make of it.
Yes, My boss did. Was dead in the hospital from bad reaction to bee sting. Said he was watching himself from above near the ceiling of the emergency room.
Sorry....no. What I've read.......people have reported a variety of experiences and that tells me, it can't be trusted.
Any updates on this?
I have to ask you this... have you ever spoke to anyone that was considered 'clinically dead' at one point in time?
Ever ask them what they've seen?
EDIT: Anybody?
Ghostly image causes a stir
A photo that appears to capture a ghostly image of a nun on The Long Walk has been causing a stir in the city this week.
Local photographer Jonathan Curran was taking a series of 13 photographs of the picturesque area in an attempt to create a panoramic view when he came across something very unusual in one of his shots.
One of the images, which were taken less than a minute apart, appears to show an isolated female figure with the appearance of a 19th century Claddagh nun. Mr Curran said he was “freaked” to discover the strange appearance on the camera and checked the other 12 images but the elderly woman did not appear in any of the other pictures.
“The image was not visible either before or after the photograph was taken and was not captured in any of the other photographs, either going or coming. She just seemed to appear for a moment and then disappear. There were other people on the Long Walk that day, but they seemed oblivious to her presence,” he explained.
The unnerving photo obtained by the Galway Independent clearly shows a distinct ghostly female figure and speculation has been rife since the photo emerged as to whether this is simply a optical illusion or a representation from beyond the grave.
Galway historian William Henry said there had been many stories of hauntings around the Claddagh, Wolfe Tone Bridge and Long Walk over the years and stories of the ‘Lady in White’ were told regularly in the past.
“An elderly man once described seeing a lady dressed in medieval clothing near the bridge one night, long before our festivals began. Other stories of hauntings were told in the old Claddagh and many young people were warned to avoid Wolf Tone Bridge after mid-night. This had the added advantage of ensuring that they were home before 12 bells,” he said.
Mr Henry said the image at the end of Long Walk is striking and “certainly stands out as clearly out of place in a modern context.”
“She appears to be looking directly at the camera indicating an awareness of her surroundings,” he added.

It was freaky and I don't really know what to make of it. The homeowners weren't too freaked out though, but it was creepy. I'm not sure I want to go back there - I invited them over to our place instaed haha!
VERY nice link!!!
This is what intrigues me the most about my, inevitable death.
Why does my cat see things that I can't see?
I have two cats, and one of them looks constantly creeped out. Like, she chases things that aren't there and suddenly looks at a blank space as if a person has just walked in the room, when there is no-one there. Sometimes, she even runs away from nothing! is she just being weird or is she seeing something (or someone?) that I can't see? Help?
Thanks

Animals can sense things that we can't.
Elephants, around the area of the 2004 tsunami were acting erratic many minutes before the first wave hit. Many high tailed it for higher ground. There are reports of people taking tours on one of these animals and the elephants ignored their trainers and took off, heading for higher ground.

I've never personally seen anything like that. Bet it kinda freaked you out. Maybe you should try and do your own little ghost hunting experiment, see if you get anything.
Divers find large, unexplained object at bottom of Baltic Sea
By Eric Pfeiffer
A team of salvage divers has discovered an unexplained object resting at the bottom of the Baltic Sea near Sweden.
"This thing turned up. My first reaction was to tell the guys that we have a UFO here on the bottom," said Peter Lindberg, the leader of the amateur treasure hunters.
Sonar readings show that the mysterious object is about 60 meters across, or, about the size of a jumbo jet. And it's not alone. Nearby on the sea floor is another, smaller object with a similar shape. Even more fascinating, both objects have "drag marks" behind them on the sea floor, stretching back more than 400 feet.
"Could this be the Star Wars Millenium Falcon, a plug to an inner world or a marine version of Stonehenge?" asks CNN's Brooke Bowman.

OK - I personally saw the cat do it's "thing". It certainly looked/acted like it saw something and responded to it. Kept starring yet moved it eyes as if following something. It ended up following whatever into 2 different rooms. It even meowed a couple of times while looking up at "something". It obviously was NOT following some bug - too cold and spotless house. Kinda creepy......Thoughts? I am not a "cat person" so is this abnormal behavior????

If you have ever wondered about the vast possibilities of paranormal
and have thought about the different, inexplicable things that seem to exist with us in the world, you are not alone.
There are many who believe that paranormal is something which is a part of our regular life, with the only exception being that we cannot see them.
The basic definition of the word paranormal explains and points at something which transcends the boundaries of the normal world.
The whole domain of paranormal is limitless and some of us who have had paranormal experiences only know a bit about these inexplicable things.
The subject of paranormal has gone through a lot of metamorphosis over the recent few decades
and it seems that science still does not have answer to several such questions.
