Good trading to all, steve
Good morning Poet, I decided to post my option trades here to see if we could stimulate discussion and we've had a little follow through.
You have to join us with some trades. The volatility of the market since late May has been great. Good trading to you and to all, steve
Hi Poet!

Morning Steve, yes, that too, but I do my forecast based on the daily chart... can't go as precise as Zeev LOL, especially I'm not around during trading period.

Bernard are we sure we didn't witness a trend change about 2:30 EDT today? <G,G>
I agree with you about ORCL and many others will get a little lift higher here if this rally can progress beyond this week.
Good trading, Bernard
steve
Time to take back my view on ORCL, when NAZ was down 50 points today, ORCL didn't really move... so what does that tell you? ORCL is super strong!!! When the market turns tomorrow, which I think it will according to my change of trend mapping, ORCL should break $10 clean!

I was looking for LOD at EOD also
I was anticipating that the market might retest the Low before the EOD also. Once the market found support above the Intraday SMAs it was off to the races though. Yes, hopefully we will be Ready for the next time. As I always say when I miss a trade "Oh Well, there will be More".
Good Trading Steve! :^)
Good Luck to All! :^)

Bob thanks for the input and support. I did consider putting the orders in for 3 and they would have been hit but I also believed I would have time at the close. Oh well live and learn.
Good trading, steve
Above 8600 Again
This move might just take us back to 8700 tomorrow morning. The market moved 500 points on the last bear market rally. Whether we move higher than that or not is uncertain right now. Yes, putting in some limit orders would have been good today but knowing where to target the prices would have been a little difficult. Most of the time the contracts will change $1 per 100 points but can accelerate a bit with the volatility. So if you have a targeted low of 9200 from 9500 then just add around $3 to the bid on your initial purchase. Not sure if this will work all of the time as I have not tried it yet. You might want to keep that in mind for the next move though. Also, whenever a contract is moving Up it can change 100% but the contract that is moving down will only decrease by 50%. Another good reason to hedge a position with a straddle if uncertain about the market direction. Yes indeed, one heck of a week ahead. Good Trading Steve! :^)
Good Luck to All! :^)
PLAN the TRADE and TRADE the PLAN!
Bob the only problem is this bottomed and turned so fast I wasn't able to make it in time to take profits. I am holding through tonight though as I think we take this further tomorrow or at least we have a retest that takes us a little further down. I thought about setting sell limit orders before I left and now I think I should have, eh?
At this rate this is going to be one heck of a week ahead.
Good trading, steve
Puts are Rocking Steve!
At least the Puts will be recovering some of your losses. Even though all of the morning indicators were pointing Down I never did pick up any Puts. Nice way to hedge your positions Steve! Congrats! :^)
Good Luck to All! :^)

Updating Positions:
Just added insurance, I now kick myself for not trying harder on Friday to get the DJX SI's. I could of probably had them for 1.60 or 1.65. They are trading for 2.70 now. However, belatedly I added the SG's.
DJX SG 30 @ (1.25, 1.30 & 1.35 10 contracts each) this is some kind of obtuse Strangle I guess.
DJV GN 20 @ (1.90)
DJV GM 30 @ (1.80, 1.85 & 2.00)
DJV GL 20 @ (1.05 & 1.10)

Updating Positions:
The funny thing is I thought I did this last week but I now see the post is not here, must of f..d up some how.
Anyway I entered several positions on the 9th and several were closed on the 12th. I will post those first.
QLC GG 30 @ 5.30 (10 @ 4.40, 10 @ 4.50 & 10 @ 4.60)
QLC GH 10 @ 2.00 (1.75)
QLC GH 10 @ 1.75 (1.70)
QAV GY 20 @ .90 (.90)
QAV GY 10 @ .85 (.90)
AAW GF 20 @ .45 (.60)
ANQ HD 10 @ 1.10 (.85)
ANQ HD 10 @ 1.05 (.85)
AETH 1000 Shares @ 3.20 (2.70)
Small profits but I still hold Calls in the DJV's that are well under water, I tried to hedge them near the close by buying several contracts of the DJX SI's near 1.50 EOD but I did not succeed. I will try again on Monday, ideally we bounce just a little at the open but I will play that by ear.
Here are my underwater positions and I didn't close them late on Friday because I believe we get a pretty furious rally at some point this week that will give me an out at better prices but we will have to wait to see about that.
DJV GN 20 @ (1.90) OUCH
DJV GM 30 @ (1.80, 1.85 & 2.00) OUCH as well
DJV GL 20 @ (1.05 & 1.10) these could maybe break even this week but we'll see.
Hope everyone had a great weekend & good trading to all, steve
I guess it's fair for me to say that ORCL won't break $10... that would be my bet, if anyone who got the 10 calls and up for the day... consider to sell it in the morning. ORCL's $10 calls is not as hopeless as FLEX's $10 call LOL. I figure ORCL's $10 Puts will be a good buy tomorrow, sometimes next week, it shouldn't be trading anywhere close to the double digits.

Out ABX July $20 Calls at .30
I was going to hold these until expiration but ABX has been driving me crazy with it's price swings. The bid and ask on the Calls has also been all over the place. The markets look like they might rally a little bit so I am anticipating Gold to take a back seat for a while. Not sure what will happen next week but in the past the markets have had good positive movement going into Options expiration so that is another reason I anticipate the Gold stocks to drop a little more. Probably too early on my trade but right now I like having the Cash in my account <GG> :^)

I agree bernard but the open today is gonna possibly bring in more sellers but we still don't have any panic. The first bounce today I am going to hedge my bullish bets, just praying we don't go much further down without a little bounce.
Good trading, steve
Morning Steve, there is no end in sight... ggg, the selling should be done, I like to get the signal from INDU more than NDX... I think the signals are clearer.

Bernard where does the selling end? we have to be close here now at the close, no?
Geez what a day, being away from my screens mid-day was probably a good thing because I want to give this a little more time but it reminds me of last month. We were down 128+ on Tues 6/11, Wed we did bounce 100 but Thurs. 6/13 we sold off again 114+. Friday the 14th dropped another 28+ before bouncing Mon the 17th 213+, these are DOW numbers of course.
The DOW is leading this down and seems to be signaling longer term that it is gonna test 8000 or more.
good trading, steve
I took the afternoon off, what a ride in the morning in ORCL, sellers won, MSCO can't do anything about it, the selling is just overwhelming!

Bob they or someone they are supporting has a lot of shares to distribute from higher levels. Zeev suggested yesterday that one of the reasons we are likely to this little rally is for those very reasons, we/they need to distribute shares. The drop from May high's has been to steep.
Good trading, steve
ORCL and FLEX options update:
ORCL $10 strike price options:
ORQGB 0.25 0.25x0.30 Calls - unchange
ORQSB 0.85 0.80x0.85 Puts - down by 10%
FLEX $10 strike price options:
QFLGB 0.10 0.05x0.10 Calls - unchange (very low probability to get to $10)
QFLSB 2.35 2.55x2.70 - went up a bit (the ship is sinking)

LOL Muel... they all have accounting problems, I think... they were cooking the book so bad in the bubble days. From what I see, ORCL's selling was so huge yesterday, that MSCO can't hold it once again at $9.5.
The problem comes to... why is MSCO trying to hold ORCL at $9.5? The bigger problem is... a lot of people really want to go out at all cost.

Zeev Repost http://www.investorshub.com/boards/board.asp?board_id=1125
I think that here, around 1380/95 is a good place to get in for what I expect should be a rally of a good to days or more. I personally just launched the lunch actic here with three maligned semi equip: CCMP $38.64, KLAC $41.85 and NVLS at $29.05, also launched the Q, BRCD at $16.73, BRCM at $16.76, QLGC at $37.45, ELX at $21.56 and MERQ at $24.21.
Zeev
I hope that he does not mind. At least you can get an idea of what he follows. Everyone should check out his board at some time to get another perspective of the markets :^)

ORCL is trying to hold the 200SMA at $9.3, while FLEX is trying to break the 20SMA... interesting eh?

The way I see ORCL trading today, someone wants to get out real bad... MSCO tried to hold it at 9.50 for the first try... nada, and a few others... earnings is coming up, so I guess it's a dump. Watch the options here.

I don't know much about computers
About the most I know about computers is what they are and how to make stuff show up on the monitor <GG>. I do know what seems to work well and what does not though from some of the stuff that I have owned. The one thing that I have learned is to wait as long as you can on the purchase if it is not something that you immediately need. Even with all of the advancements computers are still getting better and cheaper from month to month. There are a Lot of Great buys out there for less than $1500 now. You might also want to get an idea of what you are looking for and then keep checking the classified ads. I have seen a Lot of bargains from people selling laptops that they have recently purchased. BTW, I paid less for both of the desktops that I just bought combined than for the one laptop :^)
Good Luck to All! :^)

Bob thanks so much, I am no geek and at times I sure wish I were more of one, just a farmer at heart you know. Of course a little bit carpenter as well. The info has been noted and I will ask more questions as I get closer to the purchase. thanks, steve
Hi Steve,
Taking the profits when they are there is always Golden. I need to remind myself of that also as my FHRX gave me a bit of a gift this morning but I was hoping the resistance at $5.25 would fall.
I bought a used 1.2 Athlon that has a Matrox dual monitor card. I picked it up last month but have only just set it up. I also bought a 1.7 Athlon from a garage guy and added a second video card to it. I only have room for 3 monitors right now though. I need a bigger desk now <GG>. I have two monitors on the desk and the third one sitting on top of an old stereo cabinet <GG>. I am Hoping that it will keep me from missing too much, I Hope. Now I need to get used to looking at all of the information.
I bought a new laptop last year before going to the PI. I had an older Compaq but used the trip as an excuse for a new one. I wish that I had gotten by with the older laptop though as 6 months later I could have picked one up with better features at the same price. My advice on a laptop would be to go somewhere to try a few of them out. Every laptop has a different feel and sometimes they are a bit awkward to type on. I liked the layout of my Compaq. I ended up buying an HP though as I wanted a 15" screen. The keyboard and sound system ended up not being as good as the Compaq though and now I wish that I had stuck with a Compaq. There are some great deals out there on laptops right now that have Huge memory and CDRW/DVD combo drives. I like having the DVD drive as I can watch movies on the plane if I want to <GG>. Anyway, if they have a Fry's electronics store near you they have a great selection of laptops on display to test drive. Ubid has some good prices on new laptops but remember that they might be last years models. Or this years models just before changes are made. My HP is a 750mhz, 256 Ram, 20 GigHD, 15" TFT, CD/DVD that I picked up on Ubid for $1300 out the door. Now you can get a 1.2 Ghz, 512 RAm, 20-30 Gig HD, 15" TFT, CDRW/DVD computer for less. The HP has been working fine but I miss the sound system of the Compaq and also the keyboard feel. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions. Sincerely, Bob :^)
Good Luck to All! :^)
PLAN the TRADE and TRADE the PLAN!
Good morning Bob,
hey Friday, I was practicing my bbgold philosophy, "get out while the getting is gold", <g,g.... I may turn this into a little motto for me. What did you get for a new computer? I want to get a new laptop but have yet to really look at them.
I want it to have my trading platform when I travel, any thoughts?

LVLT up to $5.60 Premarket
I was hoping that the price would stay Up into the Open so that I could pick up some Puts on it. I am showing some open interest on August $5 Puts and Calls but I am not getting any quotes. Perhaps the symbols have only just begun trading? So far it looks like going Short in Premarket would have been a good trade. I will be trying to watch it for another spike :^)
Good Luck to All! :^)

Great Trades Steve!
Definitely the Safest way to go into the weekend. I Hate carrying over a position as I am always a bit nervous about what will happen over the weekend. Speaking of which, I still have the FHRX Calls and am hoping for something Happy to happen this week, I Hope. I have been away from the computer all weekend and just set up a new computer tonight so I want to make sure I have everything loaded for tomorrow. So far everything seems to be working. If I miss a few posts tomorrow it will probably be because I am trying to find where I threw the mouse <GG>.

PLAN the TRADE and TRADE the PLAN!
Hi Zeev, Welcome to iHub!
I hope that you will like it over here. There is not as much Static here as on SI, IMO anyway. I think that people will get the idea from our slogans. Planning is the key word and sticking to what you have planned. I put the message in my signature to remind Me as much as anyone else <GG>. What we are working on over on the MKTSS board I like to call the Plan. The signature is to remind me and everyone else to stick to it and not try and second guess a Move. Anyway, I know you know what I mean <GG>. I look forward to catching some of your posts and I hope that you come to think of iHub as a second home. Sincerely, Bob :^)
Good Luck to All! :^)
PLAN the TRADE and TRADE the PLAN!
Zeev again thanks for coming over to IHUB, I know it may not be your new home, unless SI fails but nice to have you here for now. I followed you through the Dec and April periods and I thought you did a good job of adjusting to what the market gave you and I believe you made that apparent in your posts. I did not trade April well but my failures are always around discipline in taking losses and reseting targets. As with all of us I am always learning and as the saying goes, "there's always a new train leaving the station everyday."
steve
Thanks, Steve, for the warm welcome. The turnips themselves are indeed a variety of indicators, but the various maps (long term, medium term and very short term) use special regression analysis equations, also known as "correlation transform". The place were intuition and experience comes into the equations is how to vary the coefficients as cycles advance and change from bullish, to neutral to bearish. Even with all the efforts to keep the system current, the basic facts that the market changes cause change in those equations, and with all efforts, the turnips still fail a good part of the time. Sometime the equations are really well tuned (like from the call on April 22nd to a bearish stands, once the expected rally, failed to take us above 1830, and then the support at 1770 failed), others, like last December, or even during March and April, the turnips were less than perfect. The interesting thing in the first half is that the model set up on December 29th, needed very little corrections, once the April rally failed to get under way, all had to do was to subtract from the December 29th model, the amount of the "failure" (about 300 Naz points, about what the February low was below the original Dec 29th plan) to get quite correctly the rest of the first half.
Zeev
Hello Zeev,
I said a big thank you to you on your thread here at IHUB but I will say it again here because the appreciation for what you do is priceless. The recent call and the nassacre call where very amazing. I know you give small hints to how the Turnips work but I hope someday you share more about them. I know that the Turnips are indicators but I believe also they are good part a result of your experience and knowledge and only you have that to offer. Thanks so much for all that you share.
Good trading, steve
Actually, my motto (and probably borrowed from somewhere) is: "Plan the Play and Play the Plan". An iotal difference (g). I am now posting here on the Hub.

Hi Steve, I can't trade my own account, but I can still post the swing trading options... more or less like swingtrading stocks I think.

<g....I've heard something that goes like that....
I never have traded options, when I've looked into it, I just couldn't see how I could cover the costs. Frankly, I just don't know enough about them or the different strategies and have done well sticking to my knitting. Just a couple months ago we got an e-mail from a woman that did the options program for Pristine, asking if we wanted to add that to our site, but in these tight times, and with fewer people trading stocks no less options, it didn't seem we could afford her. That may have been a mistake since I'm always interested in rounding out the site and my own experience.
Sam
Bernard join the fun. Can you trade your own accounts while you are trading the accounts for the folks that you are now trading for?
have great weekend Bernard, good trading, steve
Thanks Sam, How's the saying go? "Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while" or something like that.
Looks like you were ready for the rally as well on your site.
Sam do you trade options?
Have a great weekend, may not get back until Monday myself.
Good trading, steve
Looks like Bob and Steve got the thread going again, see if I can post some ORCL and FLEX options trade here. I like that Steve will keep an eye on QGLC, and Bob will keep an eye on ITWO and more... nice team!
