Stranger things have happened. But my take on the spread is the bookies got hammered in the beginning of the season, and are playing to the crowd with some of these ridiculis spreads the have had on the Pats.
Giants are my NFC team. My dad was drafted by them out of college. He was traded to the Allouettes before seeing a game in the NFL. Played 1 season up there before blowing his knee out.
Should be a good game. You guys are very physical up front. But if you don't get any pressure on Bradymoss, It's gonna be a long night.

Patriots' historic game to be available to all of America, after all!!!
December 26, 2007
NEW YORK (AP) -- The New England Patriots' shot at history Saturday night will be available to every television viewer in the country after months of wrangling.
Their game against the New York Giants, in which the Patriots could become the first NFL team to go 16-0 in the regular season, was originally scheduled to be shown only on the NFL Network. Fewer than 40 percent of the nation's homes with TVs receive the channel.
The league announced Wednesday that the NFL Network feed will be simulcast on NBC and CBS. It's a major concession by league officials, who repeatedly said they would not show the game anywhere but the NFL Network. The NFL had faced mounting pressure from lawmakers in recent weeks to make the game available to more viewers.
Local TV affiliates in the Boston, Manchester, N.H., and New York areas who were already set to simulcast the game under NFL policy will still air it. The NFL has feuded with major cable companies, who have declined to carry the network as part of basic packages.
"We have taken this extraordinary step because it is in the best interest of our fans," commissioner Roger Goodell said. "What we have seen for the past year is a very strong consumer demand for NFL Network. We appreciate CBS and NBC delivering the NFL Network telecast on Saturday night to the broad audience that deserves to see this potentially historic game. Our commitment to the NFL Network is stronger than ever."
This will be the first three-network simulcast in NFL history and the first simulcast of any kind of an NFL game since the first Super Bowl in 1967, when CBS and NBC both televised the first meeting of the champions of the newly merged National Football League and American Football League.

Pittsburgh (9-3) at New England (12-0)
Game Info: 4:15 pm EST Sun Dec 9, 2007 TV: CBS
By BRETT HUSTON, STATS Writer
The New England Patriots' pursuit of perfection has nearly been derailed twice in the last two weeks. The Pittsburgh Steelers think they might be the team to finish the job.
New England looks to become the fourth team in the modern era to start an NFL season 13-0 -- and the first to win 16 straight regular-season games since the Steelers in 2004-05 -- when it hosts Pittsburgh on Sunday.
If there was a team equipped to end the Patriots' streaks, the Steelers (9-3) may fit the bill. After all, Pittsburgh ended New England's league-record 21-game winning streak -- 18 in the regular season -- on Oct. 31, 2004, when it was in the midst of winning 16 in a row. The Patriots returned the favor on Sept. 25, 2005, stopping the Steelers' streak with a come-from-behind win at Heinz Field.
Even though the Steelers are heavy underdogs this time heading into Foxborough, their top-ranked defense has allowed the fewest points, total yards and passing yards in the NFL. New England is No. 1 offensively in each of those categories.

"The New England Patriots are a very good football team, to say the least," Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said. "(But) this isn't Appalachian State against Michigan."
Then again, that game worked out fairly well for the longshot.
The only teams to begin a season 13-0 since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger were Miami (1972), Denver (1998) and Indianapolis (2005).
The Patriots were rarely tested in their first 10 contests, winning by an average of 25.4 points. A fourth-quarter deficit at then-unbeaten Indianapolis on Nov. 4 was their only real anxious moment in the first two months. After rallying from down 10 to beat the Colts 24-20, New England manhandled Buffalo 56-10 in its next game and was favored to beat Philadelphia by an NFL-record 24 1/2 points at home on Nov. 25.
But the Eagles led 28-24 midway through the fourth before Laurence Maroney's touchdown run gave the Patriots a lead they would not relinquish.
If that wasn't enough of a scare, New England got another one Monday night at Baltimore. Facing a Ravens team that hadn't found much of an offensive pulse this season, Willis McGahee ran for 138 yards and the Patriots were trailing 24-20 when they got the ball with 3 1/2 minutes to play.
Like he had done 26 previous times when tied or trailing in the fourth quarter, Tom Brady delivered a game-winning drive. He took New England 73 yards in the final minutes, converting on two fourth downs, and found Jabar Gaffney for the winning touchdown with 44 seconds left.
"We made enough plays at the end," said Brady, whose 257 yards passing was his third-lowest total of the season. "A lot of room to improve in the final four weeks. There's things we could've certainly done better ... we kept clawing back."
New England can clinch a first-round bye with a win, and will lock up home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs with a win and a Colts loss to Baltimore.
Though he didn't put up his typically eye-popping statistics against the Ravens, Brady is still on pace to break Peyton Manning's single-season touchdown record of 49, and has a shot to break Dan Marino's record of 5,084 yards.
Brady's career season has coincided with the re-emergence of Randy Moss as one of the league's premier receivers. He has 75 receptions for 1,129 yards and already has tied his career high with 17 touchdown catches, five more than the previous club record.
The Patriots are on pace to be the highest-scoring team since the AFL-NFL merger, averaging 39.1 points. The record is held by the 1998 Minnesota Vikings, who averaged 34.8 points, largely because of the production of a rookie named Moss.
"Some defenses might be, 'Oh my gosh, I'm going against Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Donte Stallworth. Tom Brady is the quarterback.' Some people might get enamored with that," Steelers offensive lineman Max Starks said. "But I definitely don't see that in our defense."
New England's problem the last two weeks has been its defense. Though the Patriots are third in the NFL in total defense, giving up 289.4 yards per game, they allowed an average of 383.5 yards against Philadelphia and Baltimore.
"I felt (the Baltimore game) was the first time all year that we got bullied," Patriots safety Rodney Harrison said. "(That) game showed we have a lot of problems and we're going to look at film and make corrections before we play Pittsburgh."
The Steelers are looking for their third win in a row, though neither of the last two victories were particularly inspiring. They yielded just 204.0 yards on average to Miami and Cincinnati, but sloppy field conditions limited the Pittsburgh offense in a 3-0 win over the Dolphins and four turnovers held the Steelers back last Sunday night in a 24-10 victory over the Bengals.
"We weren't perfect, but the guys were resilient and found ways to win the game," Tomlin said. "It is pretty uncommon, I guess, when you lose a turnover battle the way we did in that football game (4-1) and still get a victory. It speaks to the mettle of our defense."
Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger hasn't been as masterful as Brady, but he's been the next-best thing in the AFC. His 25 touchdown passes and 8.0 yards per attempt rank second to the Patriots' signal-caller, and his 102.9 quarterback rating is third.
But after posting passer ratings of at least 99.9 in six of the team's first eight games, Roethlisberger hasn't been above 81.3 in the past three weeks, throwing for less than 200 yards in each game with three touchdowns and four interceptions.
As Roethlisberger has struggled, so has running back Willie Parker. Though he's the AFC's leading rusher with 1,093 yards, the speedy Parker has been held under 100 yards the past three weeks, averaging just 3.0 yards per carry, and has scored only twice all season. He lost two fumbles last week and could have had another two if the Steelers didn't win replay challenges on both.
Pittsburgh's chances would be boosted if it can get some injured players back on the field. Wide receiver Santonio Holmes (ankle), left tackle Marvel Smith (back) and safety Troy Polamalu (knee) have all missed the last two games, but are scheduled to participate on a limited basis in practice leading up to Sunday. Their status for the game is contingent upon their performance in practice.
The Steelers can win the AFC North with a win over New England coupled with a Cleveland loss, while they can secure at least a playoff spot with a win and a Tennessee loss.
Pittsburgh lost its only visit to Foxborough -- in 2002 -- since winning there on Dec. 13, 1997.

Patriots setting records in Vegas, too
By Jeff Haney , Scripps Howard
Gloucester Daily Times
LAS VEGAS - When the New England Patriots settled in as 231/2-point favorites against the Philadelphia Eagles in tomorrow's game in Foxboro, it was the biggest point spread in an NFL game since at least 1980.
New England, 10-0 straight up and 9-1 against the point spread, opened as a slightly shorter favorite Monday at several Las Vegas sports books, including the Hilton and all Station Casinos properties, after thumping the Buffalo Bills 56-10 Sunday.
The Patriots were quickly bet up to 231/2 by gamblers who figure the Pats will essentially be able to name the score against a mediocre Philadelphia team that's 5-5 straight up and against the spread.
Other sports books elected to keep the game "off the board," or unavailable for betting, because of the uncertain status of Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, who has a swollen thumb and a sprained ankle. McNabb sustained the injuries in Sunday's 17-7 victory against the Miami Dolphins.
Early estimates by oddsmakers at Las Vegas Sports Consultants had the Eagles 18-point underdogs with McNabb or 22-point underdogs without McNabb. Bettors who made the Patriots 231/2-point favorites are projecting another blowout victory, with or without McNabb in the game.
Las Vegas sports betting analyst R.J. Bell, whose research dates to 1980, proclaimed the Patriots the biggest NFL favorite in the modern era, surpassing the San Francisco 49ers, who were 23-point favorites against the Cincinnati Bengals on Dec. 5, 1993. The 49ers won, 21-8.
The second-highest NFL point spread before this week, according to Bell's research, came when the 49ers were favored by 20 1/2 points against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Dec. 19, 1992. The 49ers won, 21-14.
Since 1980, only five NFL games have had a point spread of 20 or more, according to Bell (online at pregame.com). Of more than 6,700 games in Bell's sample, 112 (1.66 percent) had lines of 141/2 points or higher, and five of those 112 underdogs won their games outright.
The biggest underdogs to win the game outright were the Washington Redskins, who beat the Dallas Cowboys 24-17 as 17 1/2 -point underdogs Dec. 3, 1995.
This year's biggest underdogs were the Bills, plus-161/2 against the Patriots on Sept. 23, a game New England won 38-7. This past Sunday's game closed at 16 at most Las Vegas sports books, although it hit 161/2 at a couple of spots in town.
The early Las Vegas Super Bowl line has the AFC favored by 151/2 points against the NFC, a number that reflects a probable clash between the Patriots and the Cowboys.
If the Patriots reach the Super Bowl and play a lesser NFC team, they could challenge the record for the highest postseason NFL betting line: the 49ers' minus 19 points against the San Diego Chargers in Super Bowl XXIX on Jan. 29, 1995. The 49ers won and covered, 49-26.
The Patriots are expected to be favored by double digits in each of their remaining regular-season games, according to oddsmakers at the Hilton, who offer early betting on selected NFL games. A possible exception could be their season finale on the road against the Giants, a game that could have playoff implications for New York.
In order to address the complaints and hurt feelings of the rest of the NFL, the commissioner has adopted 10 new "Special Rules" for all New England Patriots games. They take effect immediately, and are as follows:
Special Rules for the Patriots:
1.) In the course of an NFL game, if the Patriots go up by more than 31 points, they are not allowed to play offense until the opposing team draws to within one score. (Pats will kick-off after an opposing team's touchdown or FG).
Once the team is within one score, the Pats offense may play, but Tom Brady may not, unless:
*The Pats play with 8 players (including Tom), or the Pats play with 9 players, but 1 player for The Patriots is chosen by the opposing team from the stands. No Patriots linebacker is allowed to play offense, unless that LB is inserted at quarterback. However, Mike Vrabel cannot be quarterback.
2.) If an opposing player states "It's like were playing 7-on-5s" (7 offense, 5 defense during practice), such as indicated by Justin Smith, DE, Cincinnati Bengels 10/1/07, the Patriots must take a time out and serve ice cold lemonade or hot tea (weather dependent) to the opposing team. Scones are optional.
3.) Once the 31 pt rule is in effect, Patriots may challenge any play, but the opposing team gets veto power over the referee.
4.) Once the Pats offense is allowed back onto the field (7 pts), for any forward pass the Pats QB must point to the receiver and call out his number BEFORE passing. If Tom Brady is quarterbacking at the time, he must do that, plus turn the opposing team's water cooler into wine BEFORE passing.
5.) Belichick must diagram any Patriots play to the opposing defense and ensure they understand exactly how to disrupt the play. This all must be done within the play clock. If this process is not complete prior to the play clock expiring, the Patriots will be assessed a delay of game and double unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.
6.) Randy Moss must play with 10lb ankle weights on each ankle. An additional pound will be added for each TD this season.
7.) Wes Welker is not allowed to have "that crazy look" in his eyes. 10 yd, "crazy eyes" penalty assessed.
8.) Tom Brady must immediately stop dating supermodels as he will not be allowed to date anyone that is more attractive then the least attractive significant other of an opposing team member (including coaches). He also must start doing commercials for every product imaginable, especially ones where he chants "cut that meat!", or refers to himself "as a 6'5" quarterback with a laser-rocket arm"
9.) Bill Belichick is not allowed to be within 100 yds of any infant, for fear that his evil super-genius powers would assimilate such a defenseless creature into the Patriots System. We have already seen this effect on an inordinate amount of chipmunks, squirrels, and 'possum that commit suicide while crossing Rte 1 to reach Gillette Stadium.
10.) Patriots must respect all opposing players’ feelings and apologize for every first down. Touchdowns must be followed by a written apology and a fruit basket presented with a hug.
Now did we get into the Colts heads last week... hmmmmmmmmmmmm???
So bored... nothing to watch today... guess ill just sit back and get drunk... cyazzzzzzzzzzzzz monday

Patriots enter bye week with 9-0 record
New England Patriots
The Patriots enter their bye week as the NFL's only undefeated team and have begun a season with nine consecutive victories for the first time in franchise history. New England has won 12 consecutive regular-season games dating back to last season, achieving the second longest regular-season winning streak in team history. The Patriots are the league's top-ranked offense in terms of points per game (39.4) and yards per game (428.7). New England's defense ranks fourth in fewest yards allowed per game (275.2) and fifth in fewest points allowed per game (16.3). Following their bye week, New England returns to action at Buffalo in an 8:15 p.m. game on Sunday, Nov. 18.
REGULAR-SEASON WINNING STREAK
The Patriots have won 12 consecutive regular-season games dating back to a 40-7 win over the Houston Texans at Gillette Stadium on Dec. 17, 2006. New England's current 12-game regular-season winning streak is the second longest in franchise history, trailing only their NFL-record 18 consecutive regular-season wins spanning the 2003 and 2004 seasons. That streak was part of an overall 21-game winning streak that set an all-time pro football record.
PRO BOWL BALLOTING UNDERWAY
NFL Pro Bowl balloting runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 11. Fans may vote for their favorite NFL players to represent the AFC and NFC in the 2008 Pro Bowl in Honolulu on Sunday, Feb. 10. Fans may vote online at nfl.com/probowl or by sending the text message "PRO" to 7777 from a phone with Sprint wireless service. The AFC and NFC All-Star squads are determined by the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches. Each group's vote counts one-third towards determining each conference's 43-man roster. The Pro Bowl teams will be announced at 4:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Dec. 18 in a Pro Bowl Selection Show on NFL Network.
THREE-GAME POINT TOTAL HIGHEST SINCE 1950
The Patriots scored a combined total of 149 points over a threegame span from Oct. 14 to Oct. 28, marking the highest threegame point total by an NFL team since 1950. The last team to score 149 or more points over a three-game span was the 1950 Los Angeles Rams, who totaled 163 points from Oct. 22 to Nov. 5, 1950. The Patriots won their three games by scores of 48-27 (at Dallas on Oct. 14), 49-28 (at Miami on Oct. 21) and 52-7 (vs. Washington on Oct. 28), totaling 149 points. The 1950 Rams won three games by scores of 70-27, 65-24 and 28-21, totaling 163 points. The 1950 Rams hold the NFL's all-time record for most points per game, averaging 38.8 points per game (466 points in 12 games). The 2007 Patriots are currently averaging 39.4 points per game (355 points in nine games).
HISTORIC OUTPUT
Through nine games, the Patriots are on pace to produce one of the most prolific offensive performances in NFL history. New England has scored an average of 39.4 points per game, a mark that is on pace to top the NFL record of 38.8 points per game (1950 L.A. Rams). New England has outscored its opponents by an average of 23.1 points per game, a mark that currently ranks second in NFL history, trailing only the 1942 Chicago Bears, who outscored their opponents by an average of 26.6 points.
