Tough Call on the Options
I think oil will go down further. Not sure where it will bottom.
Canada, Europe and Asian economies are weakening and with no evidence of output cuts there is still room to sink further.
In Alberta projects are being axed and layoffs already announced with the fall of oil.
The only play I can think of now would be the ETF's for energy and I am watching NASD:DRYS, Dryships for a play. I haven't entered yet buy watching.
ECC,
What do you think about a speculative play, and purchasing a call or selling a put in oil?
I don't know a lot about options, but sure seems like as good a speculation as playing a sub-penny scam.
King, you are still hilarious.
Hi, Pedro,
Nice to hear from you. I have been keeping quiet for the most part but also keeping an eye on things. Glad you hear you are a year wiser.
For fun, I picked up LVGI at .001 I think there will be a big QMIN run on it sometime in the near future. Really good story there. Mixed shots of booze to go and hand cream made from weed. LOL
Also grabbed some TBEV at .001 as well. Not so sure about this one but has the "backing" of a big name. Who knows on this one?
Hey, King....
I logged back into IHUB after a 7 months break.
How have you been?
I doing the same as last time…just older.
I'm doing fine, thanks. Been busy working and I haven't been running the stocks like we used to (in the past). I'm still banned to one post per day on QMIN (LOL).
Re: "And the promoter was last seen on the run somewhere in Central America. LOL"
I didn't hear about that. Tarun bought that new, huge house and now he's on the run?
LOL Karma is a bitch.
Doing well. And you? Looks like some fun to be had again on QMIN. LOL
Damn! Good to hear from you again. How have you been?
Think QMIN will bounce again? Could be 100% gainer again no?
Looks like there some people stirring up so activity over on QMIN. LOL
LOL Eugene changed?
The first thing he did with that company is issue himself preferred to he has voting control
And then he gagged the TA
Yes he lost a lot, and Eugene still gets away with it.
I posted over there a few times. Same excuses we heard on the in board. Eugene changed, it's in the past, real company... You know the story
I was thinking about that stock yesterday, and I remembered the poster "PaulBunyon." He ended up losing $60k on QMIN.
Yup,
Looks like he is following in the footprints of the qmin scam. The only difference is that tarun is too busy to help. The hvwy fins are messy and it looks like all the CDs are third party.
I am away at the moment so I don't have access to my laptop, the sec wrote Eugene a letter requesting more info on his filings after the cease and desist order. There was obviously no reply as a dtcc chill and status change to pinks followed.
I looks like no replies on the message board to your posts, just bag holders left already?
Wooo! Looks like Eugene was able to get that company up to 7 cents in February.
I just through a post at the forum.

Let's see how long it takes before it gets deleted.
Eugene 2 & 3 are still at it. Pumping Harvey westbury at the moment. Eugene resorted to those $20/day pump teams you see all over ihub.
Whatever happened to QMIN's Eugene
Thought about you a while ago, King. I don't know if you ever visit I-Hub anymore, but hope you're doing all right. So sorry about the situation up there. Very depressing.
Sounds like a plan.
I had to pass on a trip this spring to Northern Germany this spring.
I am taking a position in Ottawa Ontario and moving there this summer. It doesn't leave me much time to sell my house and build a new one.
I hope to get to Germany again in 2014 and spend more time there.
tschüß
ECC
Yes I will put it up every year. Not many following that ole piece of junk. Eugene has been pumping Harvey Westbury lately but I don't think it will jump as high as QLMN did.
Hi ECC,
things are well here on Germany - on the surface.
The Germans should vote this Autumn like the Italians did last weekend, to end this EURO experiment quickly. But unfortunately there is neither a charismatic leader, nor a party to vote for.
But yes, Germany is a nice country.
Looking forward to your next visit, let's drink a cool one, and talk about the old times of Mean Gene and his printing machine, lol.
Jack
ECC, for some reason, I thought about the Christmas album yesterday. I laughed thinking about Stock Certs Roasting on an Open Fire. So I just looked to see if you had put it up, and sure enough, there it is. LOL Ahhh, memories. Don't ya love them?
Hello Jackfrost,
How are things over in Germany?
I got over there last May to see some family. Beautiful country. Frankfurt to Kippenheim, then on to Paris.
The problem is not the water, it's the chemicals they use to wash the oil and gas out.
"For each frack, 80-300 tons of chemicals may be used."
http://www.gaslandthemovie.com/whats-fracking/
Yes that was funny. Ole Eugene has been quiet as of late. I guess Eugene 3 will be the next up
I believe it is fracking. It has caused a mess in the USA.
The process of forcing water into the ground pushing up the product.
The problem, oil gets into the ground water. I think one of the Canadian news channels covered a town in Kentucky where the water is making them sick.
http://www.upi.com/Business_News/Energy-Resources/2012/06/15/Massive-shale-gas-find-for-Apache/UPI-28881339770712/
Maybe fracking is what I had heard about.
Better get off here now.
I can't believe it's been six months already since Christmas. Only six more months before you put the Christmas album up. But stick it on this board as well. I almost missed it last time because I never frequent the QMIN board. It will be the five-year anniversary for the album. LOL I love it! I need to see it once a year to always remind me of what not to do.
I am thinking I've heard they've got a new way to, I can't think of the word, but obtain oil from shale that would make it more economically feasible. I believe the US and Canada have a lot of shale. Could be the next boom.
EFC has super ratings by Money Central and IBD and much upside potential. 14 percent yield. Really trying to attract investors. It doesn't have a billion dollar market cap, so a little concerning about how big a storm it can ride and not go under.
Hows it going ILVMNY,
I just caught your message.
If you are looking for some particular companies let me know, I believe Saskatchewan and Alberta into shale already, Newfoundland has done some exploration in the past(I cannot remember if they are producing).
A compâny in New Brunswick did some fracking last fall.
Nova Scotia has a 2 year Moratorium on fracking which was announced only months ago.
I don`t know about Ontario or Québec and I am willing to bet PEI is a no.
I would check with Shell Canada and Imperial Oil. Those names ring a bell, but not sure which juniors are in the exploration stage at the moment.
Hi, ECC. Hope all is going well. I'm just chasing deadlines and backlog as usual. :) Are any Canadian companies going to capitalize on shale?
Mutual funds pay low dividends, so it's like creating a fund of your own, but it's so financial heavy. One would definately have to have a way to hedge this. I just don't know options, except there are many different ways to trade them. That's why I was looking at the triple financials, but doesn't seem the way to go. I'll be two months or more before I can devote enough time to absorb options.
I assume if a company suddenly files bankruptcy, as Washington Mutual did, even options would be worthless. So you'd lose whatever portion of your portfolio was invested in that company, including options???
Actually, WAMU was shut down for supposed liquidity issues, after 4 p.m., of course. Then they filed bk, with only the bondholders having a chance of any recovery. I forget the name of the Texas man who had just invested seven billion with WAMU. I assume in bonds and/or preferred stock. I've always wondered if he every recouped anything, but got tired of following the saga. lol
Wow, you like high yield. You've given me something to look at.
The simplest and most conservative hedge is to write calls against stock you own. You do cap potential profits, but you can always buy back and roll out in time and strike.
The best part is that when the market goes down, you can keep raising cash. And then use the cash to buy more stock which is now at a lower price.
I'll get back with you.
Porgie,
These companies are rated over 90 by Investors Business Daily, and are rated 7 or higher on Money Central. Well, I haven't checked all of them on Money Central, but IBD they are rated above 90. They all pay over 6 percent dividend. They all have a market cap over one billion.
So it would be expensive probably to write options on each one as a hedge, and they are highly rated companies. You shouldn't invest in a company if you don't believe in it.
But in case of a meltdown, one could write an option against a financial index or something to hedge?????

Heading to work now.
I ended up selling TZA at break-even.

Tucana Lithium Obtains the NI 43-101 Technical Report for the Exploration Program in 2011 Summer on the Abigail Property
LAS VEGAS, Nov 10, 2011 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) -- Tucana Lithium Corp. (the "Company") (OTCQB:TUCA.PK) is pleased to announce the Company has received the NI 43-101 Technical Report (the "Report") for the exploration program in the summer of 2011 on the Abigail Property. The Report was prepared by Donald Theberge, Eng., M.B.A at the request of the Company and contains the results on the reconnaissance geology program conducted by Nemaska Exploration Inc. on behalf of the Company.
The geological reconnaissance program conducted by Nemaska Exploration Inc. in the summer of 2011 involved a recording of more than 2,000 GPS points with 39 samples being taken and analyzed. On the north part of the property the samples revealed two pegmatites with anomalous values. The first, numbered 18070, is from a pegmatite visually containing 1% Mo, which returned 292 ppm Mo and 466 ppm Rb. The second, numbered 18005, is from a pink pegmatite and returned 151.5 ppm Nb, 24 ppm Sm and 147.5 ppm Ta. According to the Report, these are anomalous results that should be more thoroughly investigated. At this early stage, the Abigail property covers highly prospective ground and has good potential for rare earths in pegmatites and for sulphide deposits in volcanics but mineralized zones have yet to be discovered on the property.
The magnetic and gradiometric airborne survey released by the Quebec Ministry of Natural Resources in September 2011 was to find magnetic anomalies for kimberlite targets and it outlined the main magnetic features of the property. Several kimberlite targets were discovered in the immediate vicinity of the Abigail property, from one to three kilometres to the north/west of the property.
On November 9, 2011, the Company entered into a letter of intent to secure the purchase of these kimberlite targets. As of this press release, the Company has not entered into a definitive purchase agreement for these kimberlite targets, and the Company expects to enter into one in the near future.
The Company observed at least three families of magnetic lineaments from the airborne survey. The first is oriented at about 070 degrees , and outlines the north boundary of the Lac des Montagnes volcanic belt. The second is oriented at approximately 040 degrees and is located in the paragneiss. The third is oriented NW/SE and has been mapped in the field as a regional diabase dyke. The most interesting magnetic feature is the magnetic lineament located on the south part of the property, which seems to outline the north boundary of the volcanic belt. The Report states that this horizon can be fertile mainly for sulphide-type mineralization and is associated with a magnetic lineament.
The Company believes the Report facilitates further development of the Abigail property and will utilize such report to plan and coordinate the next phase of the Company's exploration program. The NI 43-101 can be viewed in the Company's 8K filing.
I like

Thanks -- TZA is on my account now.
It has merit anyway and definatly a long play.

My knowledge of civil cases is so limited. I've worked in criminal court almost exclusively. One thing I do know is if a company is big, everybody tries to sue them. But if there's not at least merit to a case, the judge will throw it out. If there's zero merit, a person or entity can get in trouble for filing frivolous lawsuits. So I think this would be a good case to follow.
I followed the WAMU case for a while, and I even attended a hearing in D.C. We need a Texan to attend some proceedings. You get a much better feel than what's written up. But some federal proceedings you can actually listen to online live. That may be bankruptcy proceedings you can hear online. Not sure. Need to find out.
Thats about my limit for now 3-500 , I left a link on that brhm board to track lawsuit.
I know how good you are with research. I may put $300 or so in. Let's see if she drops a little more for now.
I been staying away from penny land but you might find BRHM interesting.
Looking to go all in again in TZA. This is too easy.

The HALL is a plain jane generic board where I post stocks based on a stocks heartbeat, a simplistic method I use. It's all based on finding a stock's bottom with an anticipated rise within a few days to a week or so. No hype necessary nor tracking of winners/losers nor fancy lines, triangles, zigzags, analysis, etc. Just the heartbeat. Stocks posted will be added/removed without notice and at my own resolve. CAUTION: Some of the picks posted may already be in play and past what I consider the buy in. Please refer to the postings to see or ask if that's the case. Also, for an easy understand training of the heartbeat, I have put up 2 sticky posts, 1 that explains the stock heartbeat and 1 that has an example. It ain't prefect but it has a high level of success. And remember, always take profit because profit is profit and will always keep you in the game. And finally, one last word of caution is to always remember that the overall market can and will void out any picks during times when the market is cycling downward.
Good luck!
