Thank God there are still those that are willing to step up at grave risk to themselves to help a fellow human instead of standing idle with their heads up their rear ends filming to post on some social media platform.
That was awesome and so heroic, truly good samaritans! It looked like they’d tear the whole side of the truck off to get the driver out! They wouldn’t take no for an answer, they were going to rescue him!
It’s heartwarming.
Thanks for posting it, DJ.

A group of good Samaritans jumped into action to help save a 71-year-old after his car became engulfed in flames on a Minnesota highway.
Sam Orbovich's vehicle "struck a light pole and then guardrail" during rush hour on Interstate 94 in Saint Paul, Minnesota State Patrol told ABC News. Orbovich became trapped inside his Honda SUV as it burned.

A group of good Samaritans jumped into action and raced to rescue Orbovich after they saw what had happened.
Kadir Tolla and 24-year-old registered nurse Tessa Sand were among those who rushed to help.
"All I see is there is a man in the car that can't get out and needs our help," Tolla said.

"I was scared, like shaking, scared. The car just totally went up in flames," Sand recalled, adding, "You could feel how hot it was. The smell of the smoke [was] just wafting in the air."
Sand and several others nearby stopped their cars and rushed to help free Orbovich. Sand directed others to pull on Orbovich's car doors.
"It was trying to figure out, one, how to get him out of the car, so trying to break the guardrail down, pulling the car, trying to see if we could get him out on the passenger side, which was also engulfed in flames," Sand said.

The highway response team then stepped in and smashed the driver side window of Orbovich's vehicle. This gave the good Samaritans the opportunity to pull Orbovich out of the window and toward safety.
"You could see the fear and the panic in his eyes," Sand said.

Yeah that killer eclipse shot.
Harding? That explains it lol. I went to Liberty U for two years - the hypocrisy was unbearable.
Been to Harding once, to see Alison Krause.
She invited my daughter and I backstage after the show....
Yes, I’d love to see it.
Harding Academy...Searcy..... which pic? Your eclipse shot?
Send VF that pic I got via email please.
Technically challenged myself.
Where were you in Jr. High?
I totally understand and feel the same. There are some asinine loonies here!
Yes, baseball… we went to see the eclipse, then to see the Astros play the Rangers! Both turned out to be fabulous & thrilling. I’m so happy we got to take it all in :)
Not here. Don't want to risk my real name being discovered.
Some wackos did that a few years ago... don't recall which pink garbage they were hawking, or who they were, or much care....but....
Game? baseball? Huggy Bear pm'd (on FB msgr) me an eclipse image that he got. He lives 20 miles from where I spent my Jr Hi years....
My goodness, DJT has a nasty chart - It took a major haircut! I remember when he had his vodka stock, that was a major scam but I don’t recall the letters.
“Mankind intelligence”…ha ha ha! Gotta love that, you have such a way with words ;)
Rms deserves to be on iggy, that’s the only safe place for IT. I Seriously Ibelieve he thought he’d get some sympathy for being a felon. RME, he forgets that he comes on IHub and lies 50 times in a row about other people and the stock he’s pumping. He thinks no one will take notice? SMH
We’re at the ballpark for the game! Wish us luck!
And please send me links to your photography!
Three things/subjects that I detest: MAGAts, OTC scams and pumpers, and flat earthers.
So, I posted some great links about and related to the eclipse on a few FB FE groups.
The collective intelligence of those three groups is capable of bringing down mankind's intelligence, methinxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You should take a look at the DJT politics allowed group... even the one where said talk its OT.... the general mood among the MAGAt's is grim.... the level of acrimony between the two sides seems to be declining.... with every day that DJT drops.... its less than half its high about the time that DWAC became DJT....
Should you be interested, pm an email and I'll link to some of my photography....
RMS is back on ignore... two reasons... might piss "it" off when I don't reply...and to clean up the board's look a tad....
DJT has been a great short, and may still be... me, I no longer trade, and never shorted a stock anyhow.
Yessss! It was awesome! Funny too, as soon as it went dark, someone had a giant boom box - And then all you heard was Helloooo, Is there anybody out there. …(Pink Floyd). Ha ha ha!! It was a blast :)
You got totality!!!
Hi RB! I’m so glad you found me! I just WISH I was in Mazatlán for the eclipse, that was first on my list. My family and a few friends traveled to enjoy it! From what I understand, this will be the last one for 20 years.
I don’t blame you for not wanting to make a trek like that! I’ve done a long trip like that, twice - both ways on the outstanding California coastline, and one of the eastern side, ending in Key West. That was a long trip but well worth it!
Thanks for the webcam in Mazatlán, I’m getting excited. My brother brought 3 dozen pair of glasses lol, maybe a bit overkill, but he got a good deal on “approved” glasses :)
Thought this board would be a good place to alert you to that idiot's reply to me..... but you found it right off anyhow.
Saw your reply and the ones about the eclipse. Where will you be? My plans fizzled. First target was this area https://news4sanantonio.com/weather/weather-cameras/western-zone-eagle-pass/ Then, I had Mexico in mind, near Torreon. I have three cameras and two new motorized trackers. But the uncertain weather was one reason why I'm still in Washington and didn't make the 1600-2400 mile drive. Oh well.
Looking good in Mazatlan which is right near the eclipse center https://webcamsdemexico.com/webcam/mazatlan/
All my respect, but I don’t think he called Buffett “greedy”. My guess is he’s just not as big a fan as you and I.
Heck, almost no one insults Buffett, but Ponder did. Does he realized BRK employs about 390,000, people, and Buffett and Munger were paid just $100,000 a year each. What a bargain for investors like me.
"At any rate, it’s a beautiful chart." Especially when you consider BRK has about $160 billion in CASH and T-securities. Bullet proof balance sheet.
Hi Bar, hope all is good with you. I haven’t seen him post recently, but I don’t think he called Buffett “greedy”.
At any rate, it’s a beautiful chart.
An Anti-Good Samaritan, Gannon Giguiere
SEC permanently bans California's Giguiere
by Mike Caswell
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has won a permanent ban for Gannon Giguiere, operator of the touting website TheMoneyStreet, for a 2017 scheme on the OTC Markets. The SEC said that Mr. Giguiere, along with a group of Canadians, was behind pump-and-dumps that included a 2017 effort to boost Kelvin Medical Inc., a supposed medical device maker. He and Vancouver's Oliver Lindsay entered manipulative trades in the midst of a promotional campaign run through TheMoneyStreet.
The ban for Mr. Giguiere is contained in a notice of settlement filed in federal court in San Diego on Friday, April 7. The settlement, which requires approval from the judge, permanently bars Mr. Giguiere from penny stocks and from serving as an officer or director of any public company. He must also pay financial penalties, with the judge to determine the amounts.
For Mr. Giguiere, the ban is just part of his punishment for the scheme. He previously pleaded guilty to related criminal charges and received 12 months in jail, a sentence that he completed on Feb. 13, 2023. Prosecutors also won a $187,893 forfeiture order against him. (All figures are in U.S. dollars.) As part of the criminal case, the government seized assets belonging to Mr. Giguiere that it said had been acquired with the proceeds of crime. Those assets included a 2007 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta that the government eventually sold.

A precocious husky found itself in need of a helping hand after becoming trapped in a Kentucky storm drain, according to reports and adorable footage from the scene.
Officers from Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control began receiving calls reporting the husky’s predicament Sunday morning, and when they arrived they found the dog, Sebastian, with his snout poking out of the narrow drain and his piercing pale eyes staring up at them.
“He’s pretty noticeable, because he has these stunning blue eyes, when you see his face in the storm drain, which I think would shock anyone walking by,” responding officer Jai Hamilton told 12News.
Hamilton and another officer spent about 30 minutes trying to coax the dog out, who they said was very “vocal,” but well-behaved throughout the ordeal.
“He was extremely talkative,” Hamilton said. “He wanted help, but he was kind of afraid, and he was very vocal the whole time, so it was very hard to read his behavior.”
“But he was a very nice boy,” she added.
It is unclear exactly how Sebastian got himself in the tight spot, but animal control officers speculated he might have chased an animal down the drain and found he couldn’t get back out the way he came.
Eventually, the rescue crew lifted a manhole cover over the drain, then lowered themselves into the sewer with Sebastian and were able to lift him out.
“It was a little hard because he’s such a big dog, and picking him up, we don’t know his behavior taking him above the storm drain,” Hamilton said.
“But he was a very good boy, and I think he was just excited to get out.”
Sebastian was later reunited with his owner and is now safe at home.

""Munger blasts 'ridiculous' idea that Warren Buffett enriched_himself at his shareholders' expense."
"Warren Buffett is facing scrutiny after ProPublica reported on his personal stock trades.
Charlie Munger dismissed the idea that Warren Buffett would enrich himself over his shareholders.
Buffett cares far more about Berkshire Hathaway than his own fortune, his business partner said.
Warren Buffett is in the rare and uncomfortable position of having his ethics questioned following ProPublica's report on his personal stock trades, but Charlie Munger delivered an impassioned defense of his business partner to CNBC this week.
"I don't think there's the slightest chance that Warren Buffett is doing something that's deeply evil to make money for himself," said the 99-year-old vice-chairman of Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate.
"He cares more about what happens to Berkshire than he cares what happens to his own money," Munger continued, pointing to Buffett's pledge to donate virtually all of his wealth to good causes."

Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway is making a new bet on the Atlanta Braves
Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-A, BRK-B) cut its exposure to a number of well-known American companies in the third quarter, exiting stakes in General Motors Co. (GM), Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), and Procter & Gamble Company (PG).
But Berkshire also made an $8 million bet on another American institution: Major League Baseball.
The Omaha, Neb.-based conglomerate took a new position in Atlanta Braves Holdings (BATRA), the holding company for the team that finished the recent baseball season with the league's best record. The Atlanta Braves last won the World Series in 2021. Seems like a small amount. In comparison Atlanta Brave star, Matt Olson, signed a 8 year / $168,000,000 contract with the Atlanta Braves, including $168,000,000 guaranteed.

The freakin nurse.
On iHub, it’s more than just evil. Sometimes it’s dual identities with an hate-filled agenda.
Nurse Ratchet comes to mind, the opposite of a good Samaritan.
Evildoers take on all shapes and sizes nowadays.
The wicked reveal themselves regularly to those with open eyes.
Hi Bar. I’m waiting to hear the end of this news story, if that ever happens - reporters can drag it out for weeks / months. It’s ongoing and quite interesting.
Good to see you, hope all is well.
"This figure stands in stark contrast to the average salary of $18 million among S&P 500 CEOs in 2021." But BRK is America's 7th largest firm with 370,000 employees in about 120 divisions !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Berkshire Hathaway's recent proxy statement unveils a noteworthy aspect of Buffett's compensation package. While his salary remains modest, the company allocated three times that amount solely for Buffett's personal and home security expenses in the previous year. As a result, when factoring in these security costs, Buffett's total compensation for the year reached $402,000. This figure stands in stark contrast to the average salary of $18 million among S&P 500 CEOs in 2021.

Do you know Warren Buffett's BRK salary? $100,000 a year (same as Harvard Law grad Charlie Munger) plus a few hundred K for his personal security detail. Does $100,000 seem like Buffett's ripping off BRK shareholders?
WB might well have gotten those three blue chips WITHOUT trading them, by way of Inheritance from his prosperous US Congressman/stock broker father who died at age 60 on April 29, 1964, around the time Berkshire Hathaway was launched as a holding company. Entirely reasonable for BRK to emulate some of Pop's favorite holdings, especially widely held blue chips like JNJ and perennial WB/Munger favorite, Wells Fargo.
I don't understand about the Walmart shares. WMT didn't go public until 1970. Warren's inheritance has never been publicly spelled out.
Several online sources say WB became a millionaire around 1962 and was involved with a lot of stock via several investment partnerships.
There’s a few on iHub, unfortunately.

What does that tell everyone about the power of greed.
Uh oh, "Warren Buffett reportedly traded stocks in his personal account that his conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway was buying and selling, a practice that he himself in the past deemed a conflict of interest, according to ProPublica on Thursday."

Thats for certain.
YOU nailed it, DJ. Nice to see you posting here, it’s a breath of fresh air ;)
The Good Samaritan - in its purest form is one who voluntarily renders aid to another in distress although under no duty to do so.
What with all the intentional malice aimed at others in the world these days, the selfless act of the good samaritan shines an undeniably BRIGHT LIGHT over the darkness cast by evildoers.

SEC Finalizes Rules to Reduce Risks in Clearance and Settlement
Final rules will shorten process for settling securities transactions from two business days to one
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2023-29
Washington D.C., Feb. 15, 2023 —
The Securities and Exchange Commission today adopted rule changes to shorten the standard settlement cycle for most broker-dealer transactions in securities from two business days after the trade date (T+2) to one (T+1). The final rule is designed to benefit investors and reduce the credit, market, and liquidity risks in securities transactions faced by market participants.
“I support this rulemaking because it will reduce latency, lower risk, and promote efficiency as well as greater liquidity in the markets,” said SEC Chair Gary Gensler. “Today’s adoption addresses one of the four areas the staff recommended the Commission address in response to the meme stock events of 2021. Taken together, these amendments will make our market plumbing more resilient, timely, orderly, and efficient.”
In addition to shortening the standard settlement cycle, the final rules will improve the processing of institutional trades. Specifically, the final rules will require a broker-dealer to either enter into written agreements or establish, maintain, and enforce written policies and procedures reasonably designed to ensure the completion of allocations, confirmations, and affirmations as soon as technologically practicable and no later than the end of trade date. The final rules also require registered investment advisers to make and keep records of the allocations, confirmations, and affirmations for certain securities transactions.
Further, the final rules add a new requirement to facilitate straight-through processing, which applies to certain types of clearing agencies that provide central matching services. The final rules will require central matching service providers to establish, implement, maintain, and enforce new policies and procedures reasonably designed to facilitate straight-through processing and require them to submit an annual report to the Commission that describes and quantifies progress with respect to straight-through processing.
The adopting release is published on SEC.gov and will be published in the Federal Register. The final rules will become effective 60 days after publication in the Federal Register. The compliance date for the final rules is May 28, 2024.

That’s hilarious, people can be so silly when they want to ignore facts. Evidently a Fairytale is so much more rewarding. smh
What I love about that SEC paper is IHUB doesn't delete it when I plaster it on scammy stock boards. It's about as close to the SEC telling investors to shun OTC stocks as the SEC can come. Another way for them to say: "II You Buy this OTC Crap... Don't Blame Us."
Yes, it's a wonderful scam busting tool. Too bad it's buried deep in www.sec.gov. It's a good retort to those who say an "unlisted stock must be legit because the SEC allows it to trade."
