Still a good stock to play. I agree with your buy in at 2.5. Good luck!
LOL nice dump this morning. Dumped it all at 3.02 the other day. a nice run overall. Don't like holding into earnings. bot back some at 2.50 this morning. still think this is going higher. price came down from the clouds now that they've lowered expectations for the rest of the year.
I hope you took some profits before the dip...
Noble Financial downgrades TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: TSYS) from Buy to Hold.
Whoa... I think ya'all knew this couldn't continue like this....
Quarter is about as expected. Top and bottom line misses but not terrible. Backlog ok. Unfortunately guidance is being reduced for full year.
Just out on DOD website:
TeleCommunication Systems, Inc., Annapolis, Md., is being awarded a $6,865,586 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of a largely non-proprietary prototype Intelligent Tutoring System capability and associated content for the Navy's information technology (IT) rating "A" School at the Center for Information Dominance in Pensacola, Fla. The intelligent tutoring authoring and delivery system will be integrated within the IT A-School course and it will emphasize the troubleshooting skills required of today's Navy IT rating. Work will be performed in San Mateo, Calif. (65 percent), Pensacola, Fla. (30 percent), and Annapolis, Md. (5 percent), and is expected to be completed in September 2015. Fiscal 2012 Research, Development, Test & Evaluation contract funds in the amount of $6,865,586 are being obligated on this award, all of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via Broad Agency Announcement, with one offer received. The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division, Orlando, Fla., is the contracting activity (N61340-13-C-0014).
Hoping for an order announcement by end of week. Stock price remains very bullish and company has been adding new job openings in Chantilly and Reston. Jobs do not appear to be contingent and verbiage on reqs are pretty specific. Example:
Full Clearance Required
This position is likely to require early work, late work, or weekend work on deployment weeks. Deployment every 3 weeks.
Certainly sounds like a specific assignment for a known contract. Could already be in backlog but combined with stock price action, I suspect it's new.
TSYS longs, I got ARTX from the same person who gave me TSYS.... And TSYS was very good to me...
From what I've found, this was a deal they did with the Carlyle Group who is a private equity firm. They bought CommScope in a take private transaction a couple years ago. It looks like the related entity Harvey LLC owned the two referenced patents in the PR and the ownership group of this company was related to CommScope.
The confusing part of the PR was the reference to the multi-million sales pipeline. In my history a sales pipeline was the result of lead generation and was where a you looked to build a sales forecast for the future. However, their reference to increased market share is where I get confused. A pipeline isn't backlog or sales so it wouldn't have any impact on market share until converted. And the competition also has a pipeline so how it would equate to incremental share just doens't make sense. Could be they were tryng to "sell" the opportunity a little hard.
Acquiring tuck in assets press release out. Seems interesting but aso confusing with respect to sales pipeline and increased market share. Have to wait for call or SEC filing.
2.96, running right up my channel 3 bucks soon
2.94, another new high today :)
I had been wondering why they were hiring in Baltimore. Posted 5 new jobs last April which remained open. During last 2 wks, 4 were hired and addl new jobs posted with 6 now open.
I'm hoping the activity in Aliso Viejo (NIM) is a good sign as well. Opened 9 last March likely for both QNX and Blackberry ramps. Since then they have closed out a dozen jobs there and opened 15 more. They also had a slew of contingent positions in Ft Meade and Tampa which have now been closed. Can't tell for sure, but appears they didn't get those awards and closed out the positions
a $20 million civilian contract with support jobs is great news. This is the direction TCS wanted to go. premarket hit 2.93
