Taxpayer Tea Parties All Across America -
Have you had enough taxation, regulation, over-spending, over-borrowing, bailouts, stimulus packages, and redistribution of wealth? How well is your government serving you? On top of that, they plan to expand entitlement programs, under the misguided belief that government should provide for everybody......

The Recurring Nightmare -
High school grads who'd like to attend college in another state often can't unless they can afford to pony up thousands in out-of state tuition .Of course, if said high school grad is an un-convicted felon, it's a whole different story. Under proposed federal legislation, illegal aliens (these days referred to as undocumented students/immigrants/residents) who wish to attend state colleges and universities would be able to do so without paying the higher out-of state charges. The so-called DREAM.......

Obama Hijacking US Census -
For many, many years the function of counting the number of US citizens and residents living in the US and its territories is historically supposed to be non-political and free from manipulation by any political party. However, according to critics of the President Barak Obama Administration, the Democrat Party is taking advantage of its capture of the White House and.......

Are US Gun Owners Fueling Mexico's Drug War?
Already more than 60 Democrat congressmen have issued a letter to Eric Holder to object to his calls for more gun control. This is noteworthy, since the last time an administration tried to ram a semi-auto ban down the throats of the American people -- in 1994 -- millions of pro-gun Democrats crossed party lines to usher in a Republican majority in Congress and in state legislatures across the country. So the last question gun owners should ask is: "Mr.Holder, do you feel lucky?".......

Used TradeMatcher to do my Schedule D yesterday...what a fantastic service!
Sent them an Excel spreadsheet downloaded from Etrade...within an hour they had responded, sending me a spreadsheet of what they thought were open positions at the end of 2008 (which were all correct) asking me to verify. Once I did that I had 2 PDF's within 3 hours...a Schedule D and a Schedule D-1 with all the detail...
Highly recommend their service...and all that for 35 bucks. Outstanding customer service!!!!
fyi...
If any one is using Etrade's download of all 2008 transactions be advised that there is an issue. If you had a long position in any of the ETF's that have the word "short" in their description it shows up as a short sale as opposed to the sale of a long position. The symbols goofed up in my download were FXP, SKF and SRS.
I've contacted Etrade to see if it can be rectified...
Found this link...looks interesting and reasonably priced. Will probably use them this year for my 2008 Schedule D...

great board, ive been much more active lately, and should really look into this for next year
Thank you, I'll look into that.
I have been advised that to setup a trust is better than a company
I read a post a long time ago, where someone said that he had set himself as a company to get around the 35% tax problem.
I would love to see someone that has done that, post a link or detail what steps to take, to trade as a company of one.
Welcome to the tax tips for active traders board!
I just became an active trader this year (over 1,000 trades since June 1st) and would appreciate anyone's guidance on how to best handle the tax ramifications of making so many trades...
