Fortress International Group, Inc. (Other OTC: FIGI), a provider of consulting and engineering, construction management and 24/7/365 site services for mission-critical facilities, today announced that it has been awarded a $16 million design-build contract with a multi-billion dollar, privately held staffing solutions company that specializes in providing domestic and international companies with outsourced technical personnel.

"This is a tremendous win for our Company and is a testament to Fortress' reputation in the industry as well as the quality of our team. We have performed a variety of work for this customer over the last two years, but this is the first project of such magnitude," said Thomas P. Rosato, Fortress' CEO. "This contract represents the first phase of a multi-stage build for this customer, and we believe that this win positions the Company well to secure additional business as they expand the project."

Fortress began engineering work on this Maryland-based project in early May, following receipt of a letter of intent from the customer. The engineering phase of this project is expected to continue through August 2011, with the construction phase expected to begin in September 2011. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2012.

Jerry Gallagher, Fortress' President and COO, added, "This design build project is a perfect example of our ability to combine IT, planning, engineering, and construction management expertise to deliver a comprehensive solution for a sophisticated client with complex needs. The first phase of this project calls for the design and construction of 5,000 square feet of IT space with power capacity at 150 watts per square foot. We are designing and installing all primary infrastructure systems to support 10,000 square feet of IT space with an electrical demand of 300 watts per square foot, based on the client's anticipated needs for subsequent phases of the project. This robust facility will combine a concurrently maintainable design with new, medium- voltage electrical service, a standby generating plant, a static UPS system, and a unique cooling system designed for optimal power usage effectiveness, supporting the highest levels of energy and cost efficiency possible."

(PINKSHEETS: FIGI), a provider of consulting and engineering, construction management and 24/7/365 site services for mission-critical facilities, today announced that its subsidiary, Total Site Solutions, has been awarded a contract with an international consulting firm, for work primarily in support of the United States Department of Defense and associated agencies.

The $10 million Blanket Order Agreement contract encompasses architectural, engineering, and construction support services for a broad variety of minor to major repair, modification and rehabilitation, as well as alterations and new construction projects. Work on this contract commenced in the second quarter of 2010.

COLUMBIA, MD--(Marketwire - 10/19/09) - Fortress International Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:FIGI - News) ("Fortress," or the "Company"), a leading provider of consulting and engineering, construction management and 24/7/365 site services for mission-critical facilities, today announced that it has been awarded six contracts totaling approximately $39.4 million spanning all three of its divisions -- technology consulting, construction management and facilities management. Including the new project awards, Fortress International has closed $46.5 million in new business since the end of the second quarter.

The bulk of the contract awards come from four significant design and construction projects for two of Fortress International's co-location customers totaling $36.4 million. Revenue related to these projects will span over the next eight months with projects located in Chicago, Toronto and Atlanta.

In addition, Fortress' technology consulting division has been selected to be part of the professional services team to assist the U.S. Social Security Administration to develop and design their new data center in Baltimore. The initial contract with Fortress is for $300,000, however due to the size and complexity of the project, Fortress believes that its involvement will evolve from this initial contract.

Fortress was also awarded a $2.7 million facility management contract over a three year period to commission and service multiple containerized data center modules.
