I got this at .47 back in March/April. I've flipped it quite a few times for some nice coin. Great stock. Once a strong break over the $2 range I believe this one can really fly. Has a long way to go.
Looks like STP is getting 0 from sale of its main operating asset, Wuxi Suntech.

making a comeback after a sell off eh? this could test 2 by end of Nov.
Chinese solar cell makers bid for Suntech's main unit
Wednesday, October 9, 7:46 AM ET | STP
Suntech Power (STP) +11.7% premarket after two Chinese solar power manufacturers tender bids for the main unit of the troubled company, FT reports, as officials attempt to cobble together a bankruptcy settlement.
One bid came from Hong Kong-listed Shunfeng Photovoltaic, which is offering an equity stake in STP’s bankrupt Wuxi unit and a proposal to restructure the group’s near-$2B in debt; the other reportedly came from from a consortium comprising GCL-Poly Energy and the investment arm of STP’s home city Wuxi.
Any deal will be closely watched by STP's international creditors, since it likely will determine whether any money can be reclaimed.
Many Eyes On STP
Since that day the tax announcement was made and WWW.fools article may have had a wise tip at the end of the article because both stocks jets cooled the same way. Did you notice. At any rate lots of eyes on this now because of the latest tax break and steady gain she's made and chart pattern. I'm watching this closely in hopes of a lower entry after it settles a bit, if it settles?
Why Chinese Solar Stocks Jumped Today
Although we don't believe in timing the market or panicking over market movements, we do like to keep an eye on big changes -- just in case they're material to our investing thesis.
What: Shares of Suntech Power (NYSE: STP ) and LDK Solar (NYSE: LDK ) have jumped 19% and 26% respectively, after investors learned of a tax break.
So what: China's Ministry of Finance announced it will give manufacturers of solar products a 50% refund on value-added taxes to help the industry. This would lower the cost to manufacture a solar module and should help with anemic margins for manufacturers.
Now what: The Chinese solar industry as a whole is up today with Suntech and LDK leading the way, a curious move by these stocks. Both companies have defaulted on debt payments and are going to have to restructure operations. Shareholders won't likely be left with much in a restructuring considering the billions in debt both companies have, which means I wouldn't buy the move of either today.

STP is hot again. Should rally up another 30 cents or so to break close to 2$!!!! My end of year target is 3-4$
Morons in congress. This country is in big time debt.I'm not sure what will happen.
Yup. Should see a nice run tomorrow.
This is on a day when market tanked big.
Hopefully morons in congress get their act together and
come to an agreement tonight, so that market and
Chinese solars can rally tomorrow.
Very Nice Finish!
Looking for breakout continuation into $2 tomorrow.
Yes I remember $80.00 per share.
I know I am right. The company is restructuring and it will be able to pay back it's creditors over an extended period of time. Suntech is will to big to go completely belly up. IMHO within the next few years I see the price settling down at 7-10$ per share once they prove they are improving and are ready to get back in the game. This is completely achievable if one remembers that they once had a share price of over 80$ per share!!!!
You may be right!
After this recent news release lets see this thing hit 2$ by the end of October!!!!!
We are officially at my 1.50 which I predicted on the 23 of this month!!!!!!!!
Agree, this will run one of these days? It was just a few short months ago this traded half of price today. Looking good here. Gltu num1pix

Everyone keeps forgetting this was once at 85$ a share. It could bounce up very quickly
I think it probably holds around 1.30 range till more news.
Yep. Where do you see the price of stock heading to if we get good news?
Yea i bet they are going to get a big contract with someone or chinese goverment!
support might become resistance.. must wait for drop and consolidation.
With the restructuring i think it picks up ldk solars business its still the biggest and is making cost cutting changes i think after this pull back we see it head north with any good news!
making money another up day
Yea i think we go to 1.50 and then some solar industry starting to get some legs again going in to 2014!
still playing out 1.50 maybe
it was a good "w" formation
I would say STP, or someone is keeping it over a dollar to stay
compliant.
Up over 10% today!!!! This thing looks like it is stabilizing again!!!!! STP welcome back to the market!!!!!!!!!!!
This company is even farther off from being in the black than ever.
(((((((STP's falling knife is upon you today.)))))))
1) STP is DONE!
2) China is DONE!
3) Solar is DONE until they get the cost WAY down.
4) When the do, First Solar will come out on top.
5) Don't buy Chinese CRAP! EVER!
Some news, that might lighten up some of us, I guess
