On the contrary...
RUN is stronger than that. Projected to hit 10 soon.
"Two quarters ago, RUN expected to post a loss of 50 cents per share, while it actually produced earnings of 13 cents per share, a beat of over 100%. Meanwhile, for the most recent quarter, the company looked to deliver a loss of 41 cents per share, when it actually saw earnings of 31 cents per share instead, representing over 100% positive surprise."

I disagree. Since may 2nd, the PPS has dropped like a rock, from $7.97 to below $5.00, at one point. Clearly, many people knew of ongoing discussions between the litigants that always occur before a suit is filed. Just as clearly, many chose to sell in response. I would not be so quick to dismiss these lawsuits as as just annoying little money grabs.
These are even older than the first one. Investors seem to agree as the share price has not been impacted by these at the time they were filed. There are many more like these. Just some folks trying to get money.
That's two months old and means nothing
Huh? They had a .02 loss for the day.
Yep, its all shuck and jive. Please, some one tell me how those reported #S add up to anything other than more losses. Which is why "Accel" gave notice that they are dumping 3,267,261 shares.

Should test the high again. Great news.
Looks like RUN is the best gainer today.
How do they get to a positive net income and EPS? The published numbers don't add up to me.

Second Quarter 2016 GAAP Results

Net income available to common stockholders was $32.6 million in the second quarter of 2016, compared to net income of $13.1 million in the first quarter of 2016, and $0.0 million net income in the second quarter of 2015.
GAAP diluted net earnings per share available to common shareholders was $0.31 per share.
In general, SunRun is doing everything it can just to hang on. IMO, the only things keeping it afloat are its lines of credit. the market has long recognized that fact.
In a little over 3 months it has lost 41% of its value, DROPPING FROM $8.40/share to $4.97/share.
Believe as you wish. The market, however, sees little value in SunRun's latest gimmick ... as the price is in a prolonged down slide.
What you are saying makes no sense. Offsetting something that is expensive with something that is less expensive saves money. Over the course of the full lease or life of the system, you cannot tell me the savings doesn't outweigh the investment.
Also, in Hawaii where there is no net metering, this excess energy would be lost. Now it is banked for later usage, thus lower the utility cost.
No, it will not as the cost wipes out the benefit and there more efficient systems available that provide genuine benefits.
I think you'll find, once the details become known, that BriteBox adds little, if any value, to the customer and does nothing at all for shareholders. The market seems to agree, as SunRun has officially become a penny stock.
RUN current price is bargain for $9-$12 range targets...imo

Agree on political climate. Can you explain why you think ppas and leases are ridiculous for the homeowner?
Those are nice words, but they are as far from being fact as can be. Sunrun is in line with everyone else on their 20 yr PPAs. But they are worlds away in terms of pricing on purchases and system warranties. The problem is that PPAs, leases, etc are merely wall street gimmicks that the public is catching onto. They are very profitable for the companies, but are ridiculous for the home owner.
On top of that, if the political climate turns conservative in any of the sunshine states, or even in any of the large Mid-western states; it is highly likely that many of the subsidies and favorable metering policies will evaporate. The Solar industry, and Sunrun in particular, cannot exist on its own. Ex: Nevada, they cut and ran away faster than lightening.
Too much untapped demand for it not to go anywhere. They provide a great alternative to electricity and are continuing to take steps to make the decision to go solar financially beneficial to the customer.
Of course they do. They want to unload their shares while they can so they are just trying to prime the pump.
If it does, it will strictly be on hype. The management consistently misses the point. The sales department is chaos. Why do you think they had to resort to a Venture Capitalist for money? legit lenders won't touch them.
Agree we'll get there but honestly not sure what to think on earnings day
Deutsche Bank has a pt of $15 for RUN. With earnings being reported AH tomorrow, I think we might hit $8 tomorrow.
projects take time. backlog is an indicator of demand. the key is improving cash flow. i'm thinking this goes to $12-$15 by early fall.
You still have 6.00 you can gain This is the most unorganized mismanaged company I have been a part of
I work for Sunrun. They are a joke can't get an install figured out. Projects out 6 months before they realize. Ship will sink by year end
RUN vs SUNE(It's industry(Solar) comparisons)
1)RUN and SUNE are solar companies.
2)SUNE acquires Vivint solar and Vivint shareholders approve the deal today.
Vivint and SUNE come to agreements ...give the green light http://m.pv-magazine.com/news/details/beitrag/vivint-shareholders-approve-sunedison-acquisition_100023376/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
Hmmmm? Madrone Capital Partners LLC. Venture capitalists now have a 6,000,000 + share stake. Guess Sunrun couldn't borrow from a bank, huh?
thanks panther, that's interesting. I was looking at the chart, and my price target is mid, upper 4.00 dollar range before I start a poition here, the scallop did a downward breakout.
I think you should be very cautious. the landscape is changing. here is a business article about the industry one should read:
http://www.msn.com/en-us/money/technologyinvesting/rooftop-solar-providers-face-a-cloudier-future/ar-BBpmOUy?li=BBnb7Kz
you're right man...let's get this back under $7.00 so I can flip it again...
It's amazing how dumb Sunrun thinks everyone is. They release a trinket App that is solely designed for their own benefit and try to slough it off on the consumer as something terrific for them. The reality is that all Sunrun has succeeded in doing is to show everyone how far they are out of touch with reality and how truly greedy the company has become.
Here's a thought: Next time, why not spend the countless hours and thousands and thousands of dollars on something that has a benefit to your customers? That might actually earn you some goodwill and maybe even a referral or two.
Clearly, Sunrun cannot exist without Government subsidies. Recent actions in Nevada prove that. What happens when a more conservative political wave sweeps other states and all the Government subsidies in those states are examined and reassessed?
Looks like people are taking profit and shorts are coming in. It's probably going to tank for few days.

The best thing about BrightBox in Hawaii is that it’s just the beginning. We’re building a range of new capabilities at Sunrun that allow us to help you manage your home’s energy to drive savings while you stay comfortable. Comfort in both the climate of your home as well as in knowing your home has the necessary storage to tolerate grid outages or avoid purchasing electricity at the times when rates are highest, providing you with long term control of your home energy bill.
As an example of our commitment to improving our solar offerings, we recently announced a new partnership with LG Chem, one of the world’s leaders in energy storage systems, to launch their best-in-class lithium-ion RESU batteries through Sunrun BrightBox.
All in all, these are exciting times for Sunrun as we continue to develop and deploy services that further increase energy control, savings, and overall peace of mind for homeowners just like you.
