Looks like another bad report...

June 30, 2014 of US$152.1 million (US$0.58 per ADR), a decrease from US$259.2 million (US$0.98 per ADR) for the six months ended June 30, 2013. Gross Margin2 reached US$300.2 million (28.4% of revenues) for the six months ended June 30, 2014, lower than US$426.7 million (35.9% of revenues) recorded for the six months ended June 30, 2013. Revenues totaled US$1,056.4 million for the six months ended June 30, 2014, representing a decrease of 11.2% compared to US$1,189.9 million reported for the six months ended June 30, 2013.

The Company also announced earnings for the second quarter of 2014, reporting net income of US$71.1 million (US$0.27 per ADR) compared to US$107.4 million (US$0.41 per ADR) for the second quarter of 2013. Gross Margin for the second quarter of 2014 reached US$145.3 million, lower than the US$187.8 million recorded for the second quarter of 2013. Chile SQM In Talks With Japanese Automakers About Lithium Sales -Report

SANTIAGO -(Dow Jones)- Chilean specialty chemical and fertilizer producer Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile SA (SQM, SQM-B.SN) is in talks with several Japanese car manufacturers about direct lithium sales for electric- and hybrid-car batteries, according to a report from local paper El Mercurio Friday.

Northern Chile holds some of the world's largest lithium deposits.

The direct sale of lithium to car companies like Nissan (NSANY, 7201.TO), Mitsubishi (MMTOY, 7211.TO) and Honda (HMC, 7267.TO) would mark a significant change in SQM's business model, which currently sells to companies that produce lithium battery cathodes, several steps away on the supply chain from the car manufacturers.

"The final consumer--in this case, the same manufacturer of batteries and cars--can determine who will provide the raw material, and, therefore, that would be a benefit for SQM," the company's Commercial Vice President Eugenio Ponce said, according to El Mercurio.

The most advanced negotiations are with Nissan, Ponce said. A sales agreement to supply Nissan with 10,000 tons of lithium annually could result in revenues of $55 million per year for SQM.

SQM and Nissan executives plan to meet in coming weeks to reach a sales agreement.

SQM representatives weren't immediately available for comment.

As you see, I have no idea about their operating cash flow. But based on their revenues and O/S I would say - TOO RISKY - comparing to fundamentals of other fertilizers.
But you know stocks - this one can reach 100 usd without any sensible reason :)) because it is a Potash stock and Potash will rock at least in next five years when more potash plants will increase the supply. At the moment the demand is much higher than supply....Fertilizers were too long without any price change. So it was not interesting for anybody to invest in this sector/build new factories/. Now the food is more expensive, the supply is short and everybody needs fertilizers. But market is very limited. That is why the prices doubled or trippled in last year. And the prices will go higher. There is not enough sources ready to supply......
