Skeena Resources: A Look At Why Eskay Creek Is So Unique
Jan. 2, 2021 5:50 AM ET
[[ Thanks to Taylor Dart on Seekingalpha ]]
Summary
- Skeena Resources was one of the top-performing gold juniors in 2020, up over 428% for the year.
- The company has continued to report exceptional infill drill results from its Eskay Creek Project in British Columbia, and is set to report an updated resource in Q2 2021.
- Based on the current resource, upfront capex, and projected operating costs, Eskay Creek continues to be arguably one of the top-5 most attractive undeveloped gold projects globally.
- Based on Eskay Creek's robust economics, I believe the project commands a small premium relative to past M&A valuations, translating to an updated price target of US$2.85.

Skeena Drills Thick Intersection of 3.80 g/t AuEq over 42.80 metres in 22 Zone Infill Drilling at Eskay Creek
Vancouver, BC (December 8, 2020) Skeena Resources Limited (TSX: SKE, OTCQX: SKREF) (Skeena or the Company) is pleased to report additional diamond drill core results from the Phase 1 combined campaign of definition and exploration drilling at the Eskay Creek Project (“Eskay Creek†or the “Projectâ€) located in the Golden Triangle of British Columbia. The Phase 2 infill program, focused upon resource category conversions for the Pre-Feasibility Study (“PFSâ€) on open-pit constrained resources, is on-going with twelve drill rigs currently active. Reference images are presented at the end of this release as well as on the Company’s website.
Eskay Creek 22 Zone Phase 1 Infill Drilling Highlights
1.73 g/t Au, 155 g/t Ag (3.80 g/t AuEq) over 42.80 m (SK-20-424)
3.02 g/t Au, 11 g/t Ag (3.16 g/t AuEq) over 31.50 m (SK-20-444)
1.37 g/t Au, 80 g/t Ag (2.44 g/t AuEq) over 48.00 m (SK-20-448)
1.53 g/t Au, 68 g/t Ag (2.43 g/t AuEq) over 47.50 m (SK-20-452)
20.68 g/t Au, 5 g/t Ag (20.75 g/t AuEq) over 11.78 m (SK-20-456)
Gold Equivalent (AuEq) calculated via the formula: Au (g/t) + [Ag (g/t) / 75]. Apparent widths are reported for the 22 Zone due to the geometry of the mineralization and the orientation of the drill holes. Length weighted AuEq composites are constrained by geological considerations. Grade-capping of individual assays has not been applied to the Au and Ag assays informing the length-weighted AuEq composites. Metallurgical processing recoveries have not been applied to the AuEq calculation and are taken at 100%. Samples below detection limit were nulled to a value of zero.
22 Zone Phase 1 Infill Intersects Predicted Mineralization
The 2020 Phase 1 infill program at Eskay Creek continues to verify the expected grades, thickness and continuity of mineralization modelled in the 22 Zone as demonstrated by 1.73 g/t Au, 155 g/t Ag (3.80 g/t AuEq) over 42.80 m (SK-20-424). This intercept correlates well with two intervals of 3.36 g/t AuEq over 22.50 m and 3.33 g/t AuEq over 59.50 m (SK-20-423) positioned 15 m down-dip.
An additional, near surface zone of high-grade mineralization analogous to the 22 Zone lies 200 m to the northeast. This zone is parallel to the 22 Zone and averaged 20.68 g/t Au, 5 g/t Ag (20.75 g/t AuEq) over 11.78 m (SK-20-456) and 6.18 g/t Au, 5 g/t Ag (6.24 g/t AuEq) over 7.56 m (SK-20-468). This area has potential for expansion with further drilling.

Grade capping of individual assays has not been applied to the Au and Ag assays informing the length weighted AuEq composites. Processing recoveries have not been applied to the AuEq calculation and are disclosed at 100%. Samples below detection limit are nulled to a value of zero.
New Deep Mineralization Discovered in Even Lower Mudstone Below 21A Zone
Three drill holes designed for PFS resource category conversion in the 21A Zone were extended to explore the Lower and Even Lower Mudstone (“ELM”) sequences. This drilling intersected 5.99 g/t Au, 20 g/t Ag (6.26 g/t AuEq) over 4.20 m within a broader anomalous interval grading 3.67 g/t Au, 12 g/t Ag (3.83 g/t AuEq) over 10.50 m in the ELM at a vertical depth approximately 200 m below surface in a previously unexplored area (SK-20-290). This new discovery of discordant, replacement-style mineralization is hosted within an intercalated sedimentary sequence of mudstones and siltstones. Differing from the overlying historically mined Contact Mudstone, this new discovery possesses a different geochemical signature in that there are no significant concentrations of the pathfinder suite of elements (Hg-As-Sb). Drill holes SK-20-274 and SK-20-291 intersected weakly anomalous mineralization in the Lower Mudstones suggesting they are a greater distance from a yet to be discovered synvolcanic feeder and provide support for the geological concept model. The evidence of mineralization in these lower mudstone units, lying below the historically important Contact Mudstone, could represent not only the discordant, crosscutting epigenetic/replacement style, but also needs to be evaluated for the possible presence of stacked predecessor exhalative synsedimentary mineralization events. This new discovery is entirely open for expansion along strike and up-dip and represents a target amenable to underground mining methods.

Hard to buy this here based on the chart. It was .50 back in March and then went parabolic. Seems to me it needs a healthy pullback to attract new investors.

Vancouver, BC (May 5, 2020) Skeena Resources Limited (TSX.V: SKE, OTCQX: SKREF) (“Skeena†or the “Companyâ€) is pleased to announce final gold-silver drill results for the 4,327 metres completed so far this year from the Company’s 2020 Phase I surface drilling program at the Eskay Creek Project (“Eskay Creekâ€) located in the Golden Triangle of British Columbia. Four surface drill rigs were utilized for the 2020 Phase I program in the 21A, 21B and 21C Zones to infill drill and enable upgrading areas of Inferred resources to the Indicated classification. Reference images are presented at the end of this release as well as on the Company’s website.
Phase I Eskay Creek Drilling Highlights
32.21 g/t Au, 121 g/t Ag (33.82 g/t AuEq) over 22.50 m (SK-20-270) – 21B Zone
Including 753.00 g/t Au, 445 g/t Ag (758.93 g/t AuEq) over 0.83 m
5.90 g/t Au, 14 g/t Ag (6.09 g/t AuEq) over 24.55 m (SK-20-271) – 21B Zone
Including 25.60 g/t Au, 56 g/t Ag (26.35 g/t AuEq) over 1.50 m
Gold Equivalent (AuEq) calculated via the formula: Au (g/t) + [Ag (g/t) / 75]. Reported core lengths represent 80-100% of true widths and are supported by well-defined mineralization geometries derived from historical drilling. Grade capping of individual assays has not been applied to the Au and Ag assays informing the length weighted AuEq composites. Processing recoveries have not been applied to the AuEq calculation and are disclosed at 100%. Samples below detection limit are nulled to a value of zero.
21B Zone Continues to Demonstrate High Tenor
Infill drilling within the 21B Zone has intersected substantial high-grade mineralization as predicted and demonstrated by adjacent intercepts of 32.21 g/t Au, 121 g/t Ag (33.82 g/t AuEq) over 22.50 m, including 753.00 g/t Au, 445 g/t Ag (758.93 g/t AuEq) over 0.83 m (SK-20-270). This mineralization is hosted within the contact mudstones as well as mudstone-rhyolite breccias and improves upon the grades from the surrounding historical drill holes, including 4.94 g/t AuEq over 19.75 m (6636) and 0.73 g/t AuEq over 3.32 m and 0.88 g/t AuEq over 6.13 m (CA90-537).
Increased gold-silver tenor in the 21B Zone was established by an intersection in Phase I drilling of 5.90 g/t Au, 14 g/t Ag (6.09 g/t AuEq) over 24.55 m (SK-20-271) which is proximal to another historical intercept from a 1997 surface drill hole which averaged 3.07 g/t AuEq over 18.26 m (C97853).
The Phase I infill drill program at Eskay Creek continues to predictably confirm the grades and spatial limits of the resource model that was derived largely from the historical drilling database.

Hello all. Walter Cole's is the CEO of this company? Isn't he also, or was, the CEO of Virginia Energy Resources as well? Anyone familiar with that company and still think it's a potentially excellent investment opportunity in the Uranium sector? The courts ruled against them in 2019, but do they have ANY chance at all in the neat future? The stock is dirt cheap right now. It could make an excellent speculative play? Isn't this Administration in Washington pro Uranium? If so, that should/could help them going forward. Thank you very much.
