new Rolling Thunder board
A happy new year to all of you!
I have started a Rolling Thunder board today and suggest that we move over to the new board.
Rolling Thunder announces correction to December 14th, 2006 news release
CALGARY, Dec. 21, 2006 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) --
Rolling Thunder Exploration Ltd. ("Rolling Thunder" or the "Corporation") (TSX-V: ROL.A, ROL.B; OTC Pink Sheets: RTHXF) incorrectly identified a well in its December 14th, 2006 news release. The well identified should have been 08-16-074-4W6M not 06-18-074-4W6.
Ugly towards the close!
I still think the overall news is very positive, and I guess 100 BOEPD from the two new wells is better than dry holes. Is it worth pumping two wells for that kind of return? I guess it's $5K per day at $50 oil, so...
These guys are still on track to exceed their production numbers for next year, and next year hasn't even started yet :)
Recompletion excellent news, new wells not so good. Mixed results in my book. Did you see the trading today someone with a big position wanted out in a hurry, maybe Brian, who knows.
Rolling Thunder Exploration Ltd. releases the most recent test and re-completion results in Teepee Creek
CALGARY, Dec. 14, 2006 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) --
Rolling Thunder Exploration Ltd. ("Rolling Thunder" or the "Company") (TSX-V: ROL.A, ROL.B; OTO: RTHXF) has completed and tested three additional wells in its Teepee Creek Doig oil pool. The Company's 08-03-074-04W6 well (100% working interest), originally completed as a Charlie Lake gas well, has been re-completed in the Doig. On test, over a two and a half day period, the well flowed at a rate of 685 barrels of oil per day, with 1.6 Mmcf/d of associated gas. This well will be allowed to produce its new oil well test volumes of up to 15,000 barrels over the next four months and will then be subject to EUB allowable restrictions until Good Production Practice ("GPP") can be obtained. The two recently drilled wells at 14-35-073-04W6 and 06-18-074-04W6, which have also been tested, are expected to produce at a combined rate of approximately 100 Boe/d when tied-in in early 2007.
McLeod 6-8
Arcan Resources has already licenced 6 wells in the McLeod area.
http://www.petroactive.com/LicenseList.asp?LICENSEE=ARCAN+RESOURCES+LTD.&NOMAP=TRUE
It seems that ROL and Arcan are planning a comprehensive cooperation in that area, not limited to McLeod 6-8 and lease A0116. Arcan has just acquired Desco Energy in a reverse takeover. Who knows, maybe the next step will be an amalgation between ROL and Arcan?

quarterly report
Management has done a great job so far. Extremely conservative forecasts were clearly beaten. It works out well that they have employed Andy Potter solely for the engineering stuff. Otherwise recompletions, tie-ins and oil battery probably would not have worked so quickly.
In the quarterly report http://media.integratir.com/V.ROL.A/financials/ROL_Q3_Full.pdf management is slowly lifting the goals after the recent drilling successes. They predict a Q1/2007 production 1500 boe/d with GPP.
Seems that they are also giving up their aversion against high-risk-projects:
(b) Farm-in commitment
On October 5, 2006, the Corporation entered into a Farm-in, Participation and Option Agreement with an
industry participant whereby Rolling Thunder is committed to spud a test well on or before February 1, 2007.
The total commitment is estimated to be $700,000.

Rolling Thunder Announces Third Quarter Results
CALGARY, Nov. 29, 2006 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) --
Rolling Thunder Exploration Ltd. ("Rolling Thunder" or the "Company") (TSX-V: ROL.A, ROL.B; OTO: RTHXF) announces its operating results for the quarter ended September 30, 2006 and the filing of its unaudited interim consolidated financial statements and related management's discussion and analysis ("MD&A"). Select operational and financial results are outlined below and should be read in conjunction with the financial statements and related MD&A, which can be found at www.rollingthunderexploration.com or www.sedar.com.
OPERATIONS REVIEW
Teepee Creek
At Teepee Creek, Rolling Thunder completed its 1,000 bbls/d oil battery and initiated production from the Company's Doig oil discoveries. Rolling Thunder is currently producing from three Doig oil wells, one Charlie Lake gas well and has two additional Doig oil and one additional Doig gas well to tie-in. The Company is also looking to re-complete the 08-03-074-04W6 well as a potential Doig oil well. Productive capacity of the Teepee Creek area exceeds 1,200 boe/d; however, with allowable restrictions the Company is currently flowing about 700 boe/d. Rolling Thunder has an application for Good Production Practice ("GPP") pending at the EUB. The Company has also added three additional sections through farm-in, bringing total lands owned and available to 23 sections. Rolling Thunder plans an additional six wells in the Teepee Creek area for 2007.
McLeod
Production from the Company's 06-18 well increased somewhat over the quarter as some of the infrastructure constraints were lifted. In early October, Rolling Thunder drilled and completed a second well in McLeod. As previously released, the 06-08 well flowed at 4.3 MMcf/d on test. The Company and its partner are currently evaluating tie-in opportunities. Rolling Thunder has at least two more wells planned at McLeod for the remainder of 2006 and 2007.
Gordondale
Rolling Thunder continues to produce about 100 boe/d from its initial 14-22 well at Gordondale. A second well, 16-22 is being tied in and should add between 50 and 75 boe/d net to Rolling Thunder. Two additional wells, one exploration and one development are planned for 2007.
Ensign
At Ensign in Southern Alberta, the Company is continuing its attempts to resolve spacing issues with the farmor and the EUB. If successful, Rolling Thunder plans to drill six wells in 2007.
Outlook
The fourth quarter has already been active with the drilling of two wells in Teepee Creek and one well at McLeod. Completion and tie-in activity is ongoing. Rolling Thunder plans one more well at McLeod and potentially one more well at Teepee Creek before year-end. Rolling Thunder's productive capacity exceeds 1,500 boe/d. With a successful GPP ruling and tie-in of the recent drilling, the Company should reach that level some time in the first quarter of 2007.
gas well Gordondale 02/14-22
Last week a sour gas pipeline in Gordondale was approved by EUB.
http://www.eub.ca/docs/data/pipeline/pdisp1115.TXT
On November 8th Peter Bolton said that gas production from 02/14-22 (which is located beneath the producing oil well 14-22) is not possible due to pooling issues. The pipeline appproval indicates that now a solution has been found, and we can expect a tie-in in the near future.
According to earlier quarterly reports we look at 1-2 mmcf/d gross production at Gordondale 02/14-22.
Excellent news again, if Brian left the board to sell his shares than it shows that he continues to make mistakes. The 6-8 well at Mcleod is a nice gas well not quite what our original well was but much better than the average in the area. They seem to have a nice handle on the trend at Teepee Creek and hope it continues. We should all enjoy the coming news in the next couple quarterly reports.
I think 200 sustained production for the 6-8 is very conservative, I don't remember what the pressure was on the original well, this one seems a bit low but I'm not an expert. I wonder how far the trend at Teepee goes?
Definitively good news.
McLeod 6-8 tested with 4.3 mmcf/d (equal to 717 boe/d). If it starts producing at 1.7 mmcf/d (equal to 200 boe/d net to ROL) the forecast for McLeod 2006/2007 (200 boe/d risked) is already fulfilled. The remaining 3 wells (to be drilled if downspacing is approved) are benefits.
The two successful Teepee wells have proved that the Teepee oil trend extends to Northwest and Southeast. Here we can expect production and reserve increases that were also not included in the forecast.
Can Anyone Translate Gas Numbers For Me?
Not sure how many BOE in the test and whether that pressure readings are good or bad?
Sounds like they hit all 3, which is good news.
Update on Operations and Fall Drilling and Completion Activity
CALGARY, Nov. 22, 2006 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) --
Rolling Thunder Exploration Ltd. ("Rolling Thunder" or the "Company") (TSX-V: ROL.A, ROL.B; OTO: RTHXF) has significantly increased production for the months of September and October 2006. Average sales production for the month of September was 1,142 Boe/d and October sales are forecasted to be 1,283 Boe/d. The Company is forecasting average production for the fourth quarter of between 1,000 and 1,200 Boe/d. Current field capacity is about 1,500 Boe/d, however between 400 and 500 Boe/d of productive capacity is shut in due to MRL restrictions at Teepee Creek. The Company currently has an application for Good Production Practice ("GPP") at the EUB to lift the restrictions.
Rolling Thunder has drilled and cased three additional wells this fall. At McLeod, the Company\'s 6-8 (70% WI) well encountered 4.5 meters of net pay in the Gething. On clean-up after fracturing, the 6-8 well flowed over a 36 hour period with a final gas rate of 4.3 MMcf/d at a flowing tubing pressure of 950 psi. At Teepee Creek, the Company has cased its two new step out wells. The first, 8-16-74-4W6M (60% WI) confirms a North West extension of the Company\'s Doig oil trend. The well is currently being flow tested and results will be available when completion activity has been finished. The 14-35-73-4W6M (100% WI) well has also been cased. Down-hole logs indicate an extension of the Doig trend to the South East. Completion of this well will start immediately following the 8-16 test. Both wells will be tied-in to the Company\'s Teepee Creek Facility.
Rolling Thunder has negotiated an increase to its credit facilities to $16,000,000 consisting of a $13,000,000 operating line and $3,000,000 acquisition and development loan. The Company\'s third quarter results will be released at the end of November 2006.
I think the increases where very respectable but still somewhat less than I had hoped for. The market seems to be taking a big yawn today. Hope for success on the other wells, should know soon.
NAV $78.5 million
$60 million Net Present Value is a considerable increase, but it is not telling the whole story. Adding Ensign ($14.5 million internal reserve estimate) and cash/land/seismic (+$4 million) we are now at NAV $78.5 million.
McLeod 6-8, if successful, will contribute 10-20 million, and we also have 2 Teepee wells and Gold Creek (scheduled to be tested in December), which are not yet included.
ROL is well on track to hit the $100 million level at year end.
And what about those other 3 wells?
Well, folks... it's been a LOOONG ride, but it looks like it may finally pay off. The $64,000 question(yeah, I'm that old) is when will the street pick up on what's going on at this little junior oil company? Until that happens, new like this makes it a lot less painful to continue waiting.
WHAT?!? ONLY 29% ?!?
This is preposterous!
I'm selling all my shares immediately!!!
On second thought.....

McLeod 6-8 is going to be another important milestone for the company. Ken Ellison is confident to have picked up some of the "sweet spots" of the McLeod area with 6-8 and the other two drilling locations to follow next year. This gives hope to duplicate the successful 6-18 well (6 mmcf/d test, 2-3 mmcf/d sustainable production capacity).
With one more successful McLeod well the critical mass would be reached that makes the construction of an own gas plant profitable. This would make ROL independent of the current restrictions at the Talisman gas plant.

detailed informations given by Peter Bolton and Ken Ellison
I have a couple more observations on what they said.
They said that at Teepee they have produced up too 1500 barrels for short term periods. They also said they expect approval for the gas farm in project in a couple weeks. They did not say what they expect for increases in reserves but said it will take a jump. They did say that they hope to find another oil pool like the one they just found, did not give any odds on that.
Very nice information in the presentation, found out quite a bit.
They are producing easily 1000 barrels a day from Teepee Creek, but they hope for 250 too 300 long term production from each of the big wells they just discovered. That is what I wanted to know, also said in answering a question, that the Doig Oil zone does not have water which is also important to me considering how much water they have found at other zones. It seems they are just learning what they have at Teepee Creek, Brian really did not have a clue!

…seems that each (or many) day goes like this… large buys in the morning drive prices up, and the day ends with a small sell driving price down where the next day large purchase repeats itself… being a novice I tend to think this good… any thoughts?
Keolika I'm glad you went to the meeting and I'm sure Brian was charming, but the last year before the merger was bad. He had trouble with almost all the successfull wells, never could get McCleod up in production saying they had the new compressor but the operator of the line would still not give us what we needed. He could have drilled those wells that are so successfull now at Teepee Creek but missed that. He did well leading it from a all promise company brought to us by Chris Dyankowski and the boys of the original reorganization, too a real company. I think he realized that he did not know what to do next, but management of Rolling Thunder knew.
When we attended the annual meeting last year, we found Brian Bass to be articulate and knowledgable, he even called us at home later with some new information, We wish him well in what ever his new endeavors are, and assume he will retain stock interest in this company, although not a director.
Goodbye Brian, I would have to assign him a grade of C-, he found some interesting poperties but over promised and under delivered for a long time. He did not realize what he had at Teepee Creek and gave a great deal to the new management of Rolling Thunder. So we got ten million and a new management team which I will admit is way better than Bass. I wish him well but think we will not miss his contributions to this company!
Glad to see Brian Bass gone. He's the last overhanging shadow on what appears to be a very bright future!
New presentation on the website, the future looks bright much increased line of credit of 13 million, also numbers for 2007 look conservative.
Also I wonder if the 6-10, 14-3, and 6-3 well could be the same oil pool they are similar in production and close by. Should not have any more dilution except management options.
Average marketcap for West Canadian Junior explorers is 74,000 CAD per boe/d (see Iradesso Report www.iradesso.com/i/IOR/newsform.htm).
With production in the range 1300 boe/d to 2000 boe/d (which should be reached by end of the year) ROL should be trading between C$3 and C$5.
We get the same result when we look at NAV which will climb at least into this range (C$3 - C$5) in the next reserve report.
After getting coverage, the stock will reach a fair valuation very quickly. One first step will be the COPIC conference, where ROL will be present on October 3rd and 5th.
I don't know what it's going to take to get this stock moving, but I can't wait to see what the new reserves numbers are. The recent news is certainly exciting!
OK! lets have some more volume today with a close above $2...
