ooooh, that's so funny. This stock hasn't paid a dividend since 1999. I bought due to the agreed upon buyout by WAG. Kinda like your penny stock you keep touting, except the officers aren't willing to sell, no one wants to buy. and they don't have or make a real product for sale.
The difference between you and I is, I don't need to lie to people to try to get them to buy my pumped penny stock.
I'm also willing to say my investment sucks. Still waiting for you to admit that about yours.

Well first off, if he said RAD was a sucky stock.....he was right....wouldn't you agree?

I have seen this happen many times and apparently this is a part of "investing" I don't understand. I've seen plenty of companies that go into bankruptcy and their stock is about to become worthless, and yet there will be lots and lots of buying.
Maybe it's just short covering, but I don't get it?

No one. I just see nonsense on a watch list and say so. Bankruptcy filing is clear. If you fail to understand that it is your problem. I am shareholder that got screwed by Rite aid BK. Like all now have.

People are buying because:

1. They don't read the facts in the SEC/bankruptcy filings; or
2. They believe in foolish and impossible conspiracy theories like naked shorts, MOASS, or this is all a trick to deprive shareholders of their portion of the massive hidden value in the company; or
3. They know the stock is being cancelled, but they think they can fool other people into buying by pumping the stock so they can dump their shares on them at higher prices before the cancelation; or
3. Some people are just stupid.

I guarantee it is one (or more than one) of those 4 for every single person that is buying now.

The stock WILL be cancelled, and anyone holding shares at that time WILL lose 100% of their investment.

I've seen stocks that haven't traded for a decade have trades pop up from time to time. I've always assumed it was closing out the trade, but who's selling? Maybe tax loss selling?
Many, many years ago I wanted to short a ton of a stock from a company called Chelsea Street Financial. It was one of those boiler rooms from the 90's that are only legendary now. They had one stock at a time and this one was I believe Europa Cruise Lines. Europa had one ship and it wasn't sea worthy. Now, I knew people who worked at Chelsea Street and knew for fact it was all a scam. So, I wanted to short the stock heavily. At the time it was explained, when it is shut down I'd be stuck with my position I couldn't close.
Sure enough, shortly after a Judge halted all trading forever.
Chelsea Street also had another media company where they screwed Milton Berle out of $1 million.

Common sure. Preferred shares might not be. What sucks is management after BK done. They can just reissue themselves new shares.

That is a good question. Not sure but I think you never have to. I know over the years. When mm's sold naked short sales and never cover. The company goes bankrupt is why. That might not be true now but used to be.

I've been saying for quite some time here, that this company has some of the worst management I've seen in a non penny stock.
How they managed to screw up the buyout by Walgreens is beyond comprehension.
