I have the track data list, pdf, but it never updates.lol
I've sold non-DTC stocks in the past with TDA and it was always a set charge per sell. $25. once ya figured that out ya just sell it all at once and end up with 1 - $25 charge.
not the same anymore, ya never know what its gonna cost ya till it shows up.
I'll ck out that link, THANKS
Doesn't the Daily List count anymore? This shows it's NSCC eligible--isn't that the DTC's clearing subsidiary?
http://www.otcbb.com/asp/dailylist_detail.asp?mkt_ctg=NON-OTCBB&d=06/21/2011
About 10 years ago I sold 1,000,000 shares of a non-DTC eligible stock on the Track Data account (Penson). That was my first experience with a non-DTC eligible sale and I have been careful to avoid the same mistake again. It was very scary but did not cost me much in the end, only about $250.00. Of course that was 10 years ago and I am sure it would cost much more now.
The most recent Penson list I have was emailed to me from Track Data so I do not have a link. It is from July 2011 and around 325 symbols. I have been adding to this list ever since by manually going to the DTCC web page and adding all CUSIP’s to be exited from CNS as they are released:
http://www.dtcc.com/legal/imp_notices/nscc/2011.php
I like that link to keep up with the new non-DTC stocks since the entries are dated in order.
My Penson list from July has a lot of hand written entries on it so I do not have my current complete list in an electronic file format. The Penson July list I have is more complete than other lists I have seen on IHUB so if you have a way for me to upload the file or send it to you let me know.
you mentioned a penson non-DTC list. is it accurate? I haven't been able to find anything thats accurate. is it something you could post? or post a link to??
thanks
been with TDA since datek too, they think cagtf is dtc eligible, hence they are gonna let you buy it. you're not gonna find out about the charges(if there are any) until you sell. you pay for each cert the TA has to print up.
didn't know you were talking about another broker
I know that Ameritrade does their own clearing. I have been with them since Datek. I have a Track Data account (which clears through Penson) and an Ameritrade account. If I did not make my post clear I meant that I did not think Ameritrade would let me buy if CAGTF was not DTC eligible and I was saying that if I was using a Penson broker to sell I would be worried about their new low price security policy on top of the possiblity that CAGTF was not DTC eligible since the 20 day ADV for CAGTF is only about 400 shares.
Yes I have also entered test orders that Ameritrade accepted although the symbols were on Penson non-DTC lists.
As of August 15th I had to stop all trading through Track Data where I had a very successful penny trading business for 10 years because of Penson's new low price security policy. This new policy has hurt me very much.
TDA does its own clearing, they don't use penson. TDA also thinks CAGTF is DTC eligible so they're gonna let ya buy it till they figure out otherwise. the xtra charges come on the sell side and don't show up for about a week.
EARH, they let ya buy that till everyone selling started getting hit with TA charges for printing certs. then TDA wouldn't let ya buy it anymore. and they said put your sells in AON so ya only get hit once.
CAGTF
I entered a test buy order on the Ameritrade account and there were no problems with the order going through. I do not think Ameritrade would accept the order if CAGTF traded only in paper certificates. I would be more worried if the offending trade would violate Penson's new low price security policy.
Post if you sell CAGTF and notify everyone (when it settles) if there were any fees or not with your brokerage.
I was not able to get Penson to bust my trade this morning, so I will report back next week on how much they charged me. Hopefully it's closer to $200 than $700 =(
sorry to hear that. Choicetrade gave me my shares too yesterday.
the charges I have to deal with are the TA printing certs, and doesn't seem to be any rime or reason to what they charge.
the 100 share trade at $0.55 this morning was me through Penson. They are in the process of figuring out if they can break the trade now.
Unfortunately I may be the Penson guinea pig =(
thats what I mean, and ya don't find that out till a week later when the charges start showing up. need a ginnie pig.
They can sell the shares no problem, the question is just whether there will be a fee attached to the trade...
For Penson it's $200-$700, but I haven't heard of other clearing firms charging fees at this point.
custody, you actually have a cert in your custody, you hold a physical cert. TDA should be a custody holder, so can they sell my shares??????
ok, cool, dam that sucks big time. don't know what custody holders are either
I got my info straight from DTC this morning (they made an exception and spoke with me), so I know for 100% certain that CAGTF is only DTC eligible for "custody" holders. Not sure what that means, but she said that in our case it's not DTC eligible.
friend is calling corp actions right now, they have told me all along that cagtf was DTC eligible. wish there was some where you could find out and be sure. lol. before ya sell.
I would ask TDA about potential fees for selling a Non-DTC eligible stock just to be on the safe side.
just got CAGTF round ups, TDA
CAGTF DTC Update:
CAGTF is NOT DTC eligible. Apparently DTC physically holds the certs right now, but they are only eligible for "custody" holders.
This means that if you hold your shares with Penson, DO NOT SELL because you'll get the crazy $200-$700 fee for trading a Non-DTC eligible stock.
FINRA, then SEC
YUP--most "brokers" have no clue about these kinds of transactions
Yes, it is patently wrong, as it completely denies beneficial ownership. The problem is two-fold: 1) the DTCC and 2) the SEC.
They are going completely against their own rules.
SEC will light a fire under their ars, been a while since I had to do it tho
Who do I contact to resolve disputes with a Broker?
I plan on verifying it sometime today, maybe I'll call the TA.
yeah, its great, but can ya believe it??
Sweet! That's awesome news! I guess they were re-instated?
I'm just glad that I won't have to worry about getting a $700 fee for trading a Non-DTC eligible stock =)
friend just called TDA and they're saying CAGTF is DTC eligible. dam, seems like ya get dif answers depending on what broker you talking to on this eligibilty crap.
some brokers won't hold fractional shares in your account. they will cash you out no matter what might be coming, (round up). you need to figure that out and if thats the case, buy enough so you end up with 1 share after the RS. can't cash that out. 2000 would've been the buy in this case. CAGTF
yeah, noticed that a while ago that it was removed from the daily list

FLST - Final Verdict
They handled the 200 share roundup at the record holder level, but in order to qualify, you had to hold a physical certificate or be a registered shareholder with the Transfer Agent. I assumed that if your brokerage held an aggregate of less than 200 shares, they would issue roundup shares to the broker (to make sure that the broker as a whole would have 200 shares) and then the broker would decide how to divy up the additional shares amongst their customers. Even though the broker is the registered holder of the stock, the company chose not to recognize any shares held by a broker (in street name) with regard to the roundup.
This sounds illegal, doesn't it?
Nope, didn't play that one...
IEAGD - anyone went through the recent split?
Following the reverse split, the number of our stockholders of record will remain approximately 167, as any of our stockholders with less than one hundred shares will remain with the same number of shares afterwards, and any shareholder that has between 100 to 799 shares immediately prior the reverse split will have one hundred shares post-split.
I don't know, used to figure the split price(app 4.50) and take 20% of that (app 1.00), and thats where they'd start. where they go from there, who knows.
I'm still confused as to why the bid/ask is only .55 x 1.01: http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=65972221
me too, since I only bot 1
Cool, glad to see that less than a share qualified for the roundup.
he originally bot 50 cagtf, so, yes
ok, thanks. Did the reverse split leave him with less than one full share?
he always gets splits before me. almost as quick as IB
yeah, royal bank of canada I believe

This Board is for posting Reverse Split/Round up Share plays...ALL R/S Round Up Share Plays. For instance, when a stock does a Reverse Split (R/S) and NO shareholder will be left with less than X amount of shares, that's what this board is going to post. I've never opened a board before, and just thought this was a good IHUB board to have. Maybe we can make some money in the future. *********************************************************************************************************** CURRENT R/S ROUND UP PLAYS: JDMO/JDMC.....JDMO did a 1:200,000 R/S on 7/13/07. On 9/17/07, JDMC did a 100:1 Forward Split. On 7/13/07 I bought 1 JDMO for .025 leaving me 1 share JDMC post R/S. After the F/S, I now have 100 shares of JDMC. On 10/12/07 the high of the day so far on JDMC is $7.00 per share. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Here's the JDMC PR that was released today, 10/12/07: Dalian RINO Environmental Engineering Science and Technology Co., Ltd. Completes Merger with Jade Mountain CorporationLast update: 10/12/2007 8:00:00 AMJade Mountain Corporation Completes $25 Million Private Placement DALIAN, China, Oct 12, 2007 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- On October 5, 2007, Jade Mountain Corporation (JDMC), a Nevada corporation (the "Company"), acquired all of the issued and outstanding capital stock (the "Innomind Shares") of Innomind Group Limited, a British Virgin Islands corporation ("Innomind") through a share exchange (the "Share Exchange"). Innomind, through its direct and indirect subsidiaries, including Dalian RINO Environmental Engineering Science and Technology Co., Ltd., a PRC company ("RINO"), designs, manufactures, installs and services proprietary and patented wastewater treatment, exhaust emission desulphurization equipment, in addition to high temperature anti-oxidation systems, which are utilized principally by iron and steel manufacturers in the People's Republic of China ("PRC"). RINO's products are designed to reduce either industrial pollution and/or energy utilization. Simultaneously with the Share Exchange on October 5, 2007, the Company completed a private placement with institutional and accredited investors which resulted in gross proceeds to the Company of approximately $24.4 million through the issuance of approximately 5.46 million shares of common stock. As part of the private placement, management entered into a "make good agreement" and is required to place 5.58 million of their shares into an escrow to secure its obligations to meet specific net income targets. In the event the Company does not achieve $16 million in after tax net income ("ATNI") for 2007 and $28 million in ATNI for 2008, 1.674 million and 3.906 million shares respectively will be transferred on an all or none basis to the investors in the private placement on a pro-rata basis.[\b] China is the world's largest producer and consumer of steel products and its steel industry is comprised of approximately 1100 companies. For 2007, it has been estimated that the PRC will manufacture approximately 450 million tons of crude steel. RINO's proprietary and patented wastewater treatment equipment, called the "Lamella Inclined Tube Settler" wastewater disposal system, is a market leader in China's iron and steel industry. The Lamella Inclined Tube Settler system provides comprehensive treatment of wastewater resulting from the harsh manufacturing processes, and is a closed-loop system which significantly reduces the amount of water consumed during the manufacturing process. In addition, RINO introduced the Circulating Fluidized Bed Method Desulphurization System for eliminating sulphur dioxide emissions specifically in the sintering process of iron and steel operations. RINO's third product is an anti-oxidation system which significantly reduces the scrap produced in steel plate production. A proprietary coating is applied to hot flat rolled steel as part of the process will be sold to customers on an ongoing basis, creating a recurring revenue base. The Lamella system is patented, and patent applications are pending on the anti-oxidation system. Both the desulphurization and anti-oxidation products were developed as a result of RINO's cooperative efforts with the Chinese Academy of Science. "We are pleased to have completed this financing," stated Mr. Dejun Zou (David), CEO and Chairman of RINO. "The proceeds are expected to be utilized for working capital and to expand our production capacity to meet the growing market demand. This will include implementing new operating systems, equipment and technology to improve both our operating efficiency and profitability. In addition, we intend to expand and strengthen our distribution and sales network in China, while continuing to focus on new product development efforts." For the first six months of 2007, ended June 30, 2007, RINO recorded revenues of $28.7 million and net income of $7.3 million, compared to revenue of $4.1 million and net income $1.3 million in the respective year ago period. This is NOT a board that will get tremendous exposure during the year, but one to check for the plays in the afternoon after the OTCBB Daily List comes out to see if there are any plays that day. There will only be one chance to get in for most of them, unless the company posts in a DEF 14 that this is what they intend to do in the future, which will give us a heads up that it's coming.
